- After setting up your phone consider doing a reboot for better performance.
- If you want to use A2SD download Link2SD of the market and set it up.
- Don't forget to check out securecrt kernel thread for more ICS related kernel developments.
- be aware of your system partition size and make sure you have enough space when installing all kinds of 3rd party system apps !

Tips / Tricks & Bugs:
Code:
[B]Tips / Tricks/ Mods[/B]
+ KSM Memory Management :
Due to heavy memory load with OpenGL support, it is recommended to activate KSM to reduce the memory usage and avoid problems like random reboots. This is done by going to "Settings"->"Performance"->"Memory Management" and check "Kernel samepage merging"
You can also activate zRam if you still encounter low RAM issues
+ For all people (like me) missing some AOKP options in this ROM give [URL="http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1531222"]Reloaded ICS 1.9b3-041012[/URL] a try ! it's great
[COLOR="Blue"]+ + If you would like to check out the 'TabletUI' mod (check my signature for more info) I have made one for this ROM..Just dont forget to disable the navigation bar before using it : [URL="https://hotfile.com/dl/154284773/c4aa8e4/TabletUI_MOD_CM9_HD2_HWA.zip.html"]TabletUI_MOD_CM9_HD2_HWA.zip[/URL] - [URL="http://depositfiles.com/files/0qry1rdlo"]mirror[/URL][/COLOR]
[COLOR="Red"] !! Keep in mind that [B]you can't use both of the above mods together !! Use one of them [/B][/COLOR]
[B]Bugs[/B]
- When you need to reboot your phone for the first time using this rom please use the poweroff / on function
You can get stuck into a bootloop when using the reboot option and will need to pull battery..
- Black bar while using the camera (try lg camera of the market as alternative)
- Barcode scanner not working (try NeoReader of the market as alternative)

If you're not going to maintain this rom does that mean we dont need to take any logcats or report any bugs to you or will all the info we have be needed by the other developers?
Just wanna know how much those who decide to take the plunge need to put this rom to its paces.

I am by no means an expert but given that tytung is currently working off an old codebase he'll probably rebase his ROM on this. And if he won't, someone else will. Anyways, bug reports will not go amiss.

Yeah but looking at the desire thread their ICS rom had more bugs than our roms prior to HWA. I thought it was more likely that once they figured out the reason they could boot this as opposed to booting the AOKP or a direct CM9 from source they would either switch to those two more reliable sources.
But oh'well, I'm bored so I'll just switch my main number to my BB and abuse this rom through the night.

I just went crazy when i saw hwa u are awesome thanks man. The best developer. Thanks again!

Why wont you just let HD2 die I really want to buy HTC One X but this will keep my HD2 minimaly for another 6 months.
I wanted to change phone year ago, but there is always something new with HD2. Simply greatest phone ever.
Sorry HTC One X. You will have to wait
GOOD WORK EVERYONE (involved in this)

Hey.. no need to start that kind of 'drama' (sorry) already on the first page m8
I said : I won't be maintaining this for very long..
You know just as well as I do.. this is gonna be ground/base material for other devs/users to build on and make different ROMS/things out of it...
I am very busy maintaining the AOKP rom (which will need HWA also at some point) and these guys from Team Kang come with updates every week at least...
Our well respected CM9 rom maintainer tytung will probably take this over at some point and I don't think we need
3 different CM9 roms floating around (although.. I won't start counting the CM7 roms for that matter )
Besides CM9/AOKP/AOSP there are a lot of other nice ICS roms around (MIUI/SENSE) that could use some ICS love
Anyway... Post your logcats please !
I won't be around much the next couple of days, but there will probably be more people around helping out ( I hope )

Yes, Kernel supports Wi-Fi Calling, Wi-Fi IEEE 802.1x/EAP, native Wi-Fi Tethering, unique Wi-Fi/Bluetooth MAC address, low power mode Bluetooth, UTF-8, CIFS, Yaffs, Ext2/3/4, NILFS, ReiserFS, BTRFS, and the official HTC extended battery
You would need to configure it for app2sd, data2sd and dalvik to sd as these are not implimented by default!
Downloading now, looks great! AND Rapidshare links, you sir are a win
Will report back when I have flashed.
Thanks!
Edit: Flashed, looks nice but I have turned off compat mode in spare parts and the lockscreen is still out of proportion. And the wake up lag that exists on my type of HD2 screen is still there, but you would have to be a miracle worker to fix that as its a driver issue i believe

The lockscreen should utilise tha whole screen after a restart
I can't work on the wake up lag due to the libs working on mine without the lag
There should be available libs for your screen.... does every rom you try have the lag?

You can install the Apps2sd version I have posted under the Extras: section, it includes a user interface which lets you set the apps2sd and dalvik2sd.
There can be problems with stability on data2sd so I omitted it from any optional updates but may add it later if I can find (Or if someone informs me of) a stable one.
Hope this helps

Yeah, the lag is there on evey ROM, its due to the type of screen there is the Sharp screens that have no lag, and the other one, cant remember the name but it tells you about it in this thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=11635947&postcount=440
Nobody seems to care about the issue anymore and its so damn annoying, it almost ruins android on my HD2. I don't know if you have any idea what needs to be done to fix it but any help would be greatly appreciated by the community
Looks promising..!!!
Three questions for you:
1. How does speed/stability compare with Hyperdroid 2.1?
2. How often will you be updating?
3. Do CM7 Theme Chooser themes work with it without modification?
Nice to see another CM7 ROM here - great work
Is it desire or nexus one base android?
Wow...the download site really sucks bad. 15 minutes before being able to download the recovery file and 5 minutes before being able to download the ROM file.
I give up. I waited those lengths of time to download your files and for soe reason I couldn't get the correct file through my download manager. I tried to download again and it wouldn't allow it. Then, when the ROM file was ready to download, it wouldn't let me download it because I had tried to download the recovery file.
This is a no-go ROM for me. Sorry pal.
The ROM looks really nice. Trouble is the download link so a Mirror would be nice.
@ xpstyle36
Not really sure what I can do since I don't have a device with the lag to test things on
I will look into it to see if there is some "long-lost" method of correcting or tweaking it as some people have had some success resulting in a 0.5 sec lag
@ Dunc001
1. Speed/stabilty is, in my optionion, on par or better
2. Every few days.
3. Yes, the themes for theme chooser work!
@ mikelt89
It's Desire/Bravo based
@ MartyLK
If you can give me a better upload site, I would be willing to upload it there for you!
Thanks everyone for your interest!
thank you very much, looks very promising. will give it a try and report back

Hi guys, today I want to show you my first ROM for my Galaxy S.
Actually it was made only for the forum in which I collaborate (www.uebarena.com/android-arena), however I decided to let it make an appearance on XDA too.
First of all, Credits:
-the whole cm7 team for the awesome AOSP rom
-zacharias.maladroit, for the awesome kernel
-the xda comunity, with its guides and tutorials which helped me out a lot
-my dear friend Memnoch (have a look at his rom on the DHD forums) who supported me in this process
-my beta testers which trusted me and tested all my builds.
Secondly, Features
(See Changelog in 2nd post)
SCREENSHOTS (launcher pro plus not included in the rom)
VIDEO by umberto1978
(quality is not the best, but he promised to make another one with a better camera, since he is recording with a galaxy mini as you can see )
Pre-installation:
-backup all your app &data before flashing (with titanium, mybackup ecc...)
-I suggest doing a factory reset, so that you come from a fully clean install.
-if you are already on a CM7, do a format of /system and wipe dalvik & wipe cache.
-if you are on a stock rom, first you need a CWM.
Installation
requirements:
_any gingerbread rom (stock or custom)
_CWM recovery
1)
_put the .zip file in your internal sdcard
_reboot in recovery
_factory reset
_install zip from sdcard>choose zip from sdcard> CyanoForTomorrow_v1.0.zip
_when it ends flashing, reboot
_Done. Enjoy.
2)
_download latest gapps here
_flash them in recovery
_Done
If coming from a previous release of CFT:
_reboot in recovery
_wipe dalvik & wipe cache
_flash the rom
_reboot
_after that, install the gapps
(optional) Post-installation
Battery calibration
_connect the phone to the charger, wait till it reaches 100%, then use the battery calibration app.
Change theme:
_open the theme chooser app, select a theme and apply it.
lockscreen ICS-style
_download the file ics-metamorphhere
_put it in your internal sdcard.
_open metamorph
_unzip/extract new theme
_tap the arrow and browse to the theme
_apply
change font
_downlod my font packhere.
_extract
_create a folder named .fontchanger in your sdcard and put all the fonts in it
_opene the app, choose the font and let it reboot (if not, do it manually)

CHANGELOG:
Announcement:
this project has changed his main purpose.
due to the temporary instability of ICS portings, and since buildbot (RIP) stopped building nightlies a long time ago,
I'll manage to keep cm7 alive, updated and optimized at best with my rom,
using as a base the kangs provided by the "kangaroo" thread here on XDA.
v1.4
-new rom base, updated until 02.02.2012 (check the cm7 changelog)
-ics animations are finally back
-"hello hello bug" fixed
-added HW acceleration to stock browser (need feedback on that)
-changed kernel to Fugumod (daily 1976v)
v1.2.1
-updated base, with new stock lockscreens (Holo is beautiful)
-T9 dialing in phone app (like on stock roms) is included, pretty useful and works like a charm.
-JVU modem
-Thunderbolt removed (caused instability on the long term)
-no ICS anims (problem with framework, will be implemented in next releases)
v1.2
-updated kang base (it has all the cm7 updates until the 7th of december, give a look at the official cm7 changelog)
-changed bootanimation
-thunderbolt 2.2.0 scripts included (credits to pikachu01, original thread here)
-double release: one has the platypus kernel, the other one stays with the stock cm7 kernel
-keeps all the stable and fast features as before, just in a better way.
-other nice stuff you better not know
_______________
v1.0: first release
_based on cm7 nightly #176
_Android 2.3.7 AOSP.
_fast and stable!
_zach's Platypus kernel preincluded (v17r18 - still named r16)!
_JVT modem!
_improved gps!
_2g/3g switch tweaked for better responsiveness!
_market updated to last version!
_ICS bootanimation
_ICS animations! (ported from the 4.0 sources)
_better wifi signal!
_improved battery usage!
_more free RAM (around 100-120)
_preinstalled Theme chooser themes
_fonts e wallpapers (separate download) for a 360° customization!
_preinstalled apps, to have faster post-installation tweakings
_more stuff under-the-hood
reserved for future use 2

Feedback: The ROM is fast, good bootanimation, there is a small difference between default and zacharia's kernel, but i prefer the second one ! And that would be great if you include by default ICS theme and lockscreen .
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK . (Topic marked as favourite )
aladin6 said:
Why not including the ICS lockscreen directly in the ROM ? This is not possible?

that's mainly because not everybody likes it like I or we do...
I've received mixed opinions about this,
so I thought it would be better to let the end-user choose to apply the theme and the lockscreen, or to stick with a different theme/lockscreen.
oh and thanks for the feedback

woah, that's a shame. rapidshare sucks big time..
Guess it's time to change hosting.
for the next update, I'll use multiupload or mediafire for sure.
Other thing Alex, i can't choose what to sync in my google account. In cyano "stock" i always untick Picasa sync, with your ROM, this feature doesn't exists

Will definetely try it!

Works nicely for first 5 min.
Will report if any bug is found
I'm just patiently waiting for rom's like this, ParanoidAndroid or Pacman to rebase to tytung's 1.3a+ base so they have full hardware 720p support.
Nice! another one to keep the HD2 alive
I hope you get your HD2 fixed.
thanks

One question: Since it's based on tytungs cm10, does it support 720p decoding?

Nice, minor bug, 2G/3G switching not working.
Excellent Rom. The only minor bug for me is that when I'm on lockscreen and push the power button for screen off , having a small lag ( completely screen-off takes 5 sec )

actually i'm not sure if the screen (un)lock vibration alone can be disabled, ..but i included the 'vibrafix.apk' app, to bypass all vibration - it's a sure thing for avoiding vibrations, and will disable them even for apps that cannot be unset.

lol, thanks for cheering my day, and giving me a good chuckle on this one - really, thanks.
...because i had esp, purposely searched for an inverted mms.apk app to avoid the 'glaring white' of the standard apps, and also to save some battery, ..and also i thought maybe all the excessive brightness might affect the pixels elements on the screen over time.
and then, i just got in a habit to copy in the inverted mms for any rom i used or ported - it just became a habit for me to copy in.
but of course, please copy in freely any apps to your liking.
the story on gallery.apk - hehe, there was period when the Gallery app was always fc'ng in every new rom, so i started to use the included pic viewer in 'X-plore file manager', ..but i usually install that separately.
..so, my bad - i just overlooked including an image viewer - again, please use whatever one of your liking, or copy in a Gallery app.

hey kam-, i've never experienced repeated issues for booting from cLK (kokotas') on NAND or DataOnEXT, though I did experience similar to yours, almost exactly, once a while back, just happens i was doing ports of ParanoidAndroid 2.51 & 2.52 then, and i resolved that by ** manually formatting NAND/boot from recovery **.
I formatted NAND/boot from recovery and the issue vanished.:fingers-crossed:
ESP between repeated rom flashes to NAND, the NAND memory never actually gets erased, and if you are experiencing any unexpected things, then better manually to wipe it - there's no reason why the NAND should be clean before your next flash, right? ..unless you wipe it yourself.
and if that doesn't resolve it, then try also formatting NAND, from kokotas' cLK:
kokotas' cLK > Settings > Format NAND
and that should also read out all and any ** bad blocks ** on any of your NAND partitions.
i just happen to have 2 bad blocks on my tmobile hd2, but they happen to usually sit in my NAND/system partition.
that's all i can suggest to you, pal - really hope that resolves for you.

Paranoid+AOKP+CyanogenMod=PAC
I hereby present you the newest version of P.A.C. ROM for our beloved Xperia S.It's now a well known ROM , it needs no introduction.[/center

Code:
[B][SIZE="7"][CENTER]INSTALLATION PROCEDURE[/CENTER][/SIZE]
What you need is:-
1.A Xperia S (Obviously)
2.An Unlocked bootloader with recovery installed.
3.A brain.
If coming from stock or any other ROM :-
1.Download the ROM and latest Gapps.
2.Place it in your SD card.
3.Reboot into recovery .
4.Wipe data, dalvik , cache and format system in mount and storage.
5.Select install zip from SD card.
5.Select P.A.C. rom . Let it Install.
6.Select Gapps package . Let it install.
7.Reboot and enjoy.
If upgrading to a newer version:-
1.Download the ROM and latest Gapps.
2.Place it in your SD card.
3.Reboot into recovery
4.Wipe dalvik and cache.
5.Install the update.
6.Reboot and enjoy.
[/b]
For having the best battery life from a ROM , follow these steps:-
1. Before installing a new ROM , charge your phone to 100%.
2. While connected to the charger , flash the new ROM and wipe the battery stats in recovery.
3 .After flashing the ROM , let the battery drain to 0% and let the phone get switched off by itself.
Follow this cycle for at least 2 times.
This will help the new ROM and the new kernel( If the ROM has one) in settling and this cycle also follows for installing a new kernel and always wipe dalvik when changing kernel.
For having better performance , follow these steps :-
1.In developer options , change all the animation to 0.5X.
2. In performance , disable dithering and enable purging of assets and kernel sample merging.

RULES FOR POSTING
1.Never ask for an ETA.
2.Search and read the FAQs(Third post) before posting anything.
3.As this thread is a continuation of the previous P.A.C. ROM , you can find answers for most of your questions in that thread.
4.If you don't search and read FAQ's before posting any question, you will be IGNORED.
FAQ's - FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: What's so awesome about this ROM?
A: Its an Xtra-hybrid ROM. Read First Post .
Q: Is a full wipe needed?
A: YES , If its first time you are flashing the ROM
NO, it is not required, but it is strongly recommended. If you choose to do a "dirty" flash, please do NOT post bug reports or issues you are having, as something from an earlier release might be causing the issue.
Q.Why i can't see paranoid settings in settings menu?
A.Paranoid Team has kindly requested not to include paranoidpreferences.apk in the ROM (which is completely understandable). That's the bad part , now the good part is that the framework still supports paranoid settings . So all you need is to download paranoidpreferences.apk and place it in system/app with permissions rwrr (If you can't find it , PM me).
Q.Why the superuser DPI is too big ?
A.Download the P.A.C. Fix
Unzip it.
Place it in system/etc/paranoid and replace the files already present in it.
Q. Why the call in volume is low?
A. It's known issue of CM10 but a dirty patch by letama has been done to improve the call in volume. Don't worry it will not harm your device , it works absolutely perfect , i have tested it myself. You can find that kernel in CM 10 thread (If you can't find it , PM me).
Q. How do i disable dual panel view in settings menu ?
A.Go to AOKP menu, in general UI >enable dual panel ,reboot your device , this will make aokp settings dual panel , go again into aokp menu , disable dual panel , reboot your device , the tablet ui will be gone from the settings..
Q: I Can't see media in gallery or apollo. What To Do ?
A: Make sure you don't have corrupted files in SDcard, best way to check is to copy all your SDcard data to PC.
Q: Why Phone soft reboot's while playing video?
A: Disable HW overlay in Settings>>Developer Options. It's a known issue
Q: I want only 1 row of toggles/power widget, not both, how to disable one of them?
A: To disable CM's power widget, you know how. To disable AOKP toggles, ROM Control>Toggles>Enabled toggles>De-Select everything
Q: How to turn on Nav Ring feature in AOKP ROM Control?
A: You need to install gapps, Google Now to be specific, because it's a default Nav Ring
Q: I flashed this awesome ROM but I don't have Google Apps. why?
A: You simply have to download the gapps from download page and flash via recovery.
Q: Is Project Butter working on this ROM?
A: Yes, Project Butter in included.
Q: I'm having an issue and want to report it but I don't know how.
A: First, check if someone else has reported the same issue. If no one has reported the issue then make a post describing your issue. Don't forget to attach your logcat.
Q: I keep reading about this "logcat" what is it and how do I make on?
A: "The Android logging system provides a mechanism for collecting and viewing system debug output. Logs from various applications and portions of the system are collected in a series of circular buffers, which then can be viewed and filtered." To learn more about logcats and how to create them please refer first post
Q: Google play doesn't download anything , What To Do ?
A: Open Terminal Emulator Application and write following :
su , then press enter and give allow root access, then write
killall drmserver

The keyboard im using thumb keyboard that i have modified and arranged it to be better than the stock, so its not a problem... Now i only wonder what are the main differences with the release and how is it better... Ill try and see, thank you

No it won't because the Stock camera will need parts of the Stock framework as will the contacts probably...
quick question, how do you disable tablet UI for the setting menu? Its just seems too small for this screen. Thanks!

I guess people will complain about this issue if it really exists and is unsolvable because without pa preferences working many of the apps will stay in tablet mode by default which i guess some user's don't like
