Quick question for everyone. Does anyone know the model number of the unlocked gnex being sold on play.google.com?
I'm hoping it's the i9250.
To be more specific, i've read a lot of issues related to Samsung and the i9250 warranty in the US... I'm about to buy the phone, and i can save a ton of money if i get the i9250 from Amazon, but i don't know if i want to go that route if there will be warranty concerns.

Model sold is GT-i9250M. Same version that is sold in Canada.
I just talked to Samsung. The model numbers are the same (i9250) for both international and domestic phones, however Samsung USA keeps separate records for both. So, in the case of the int'l version you would not be able to get warranty service through Samsung USA. However the rep said:
"You would have to file an international warranty claim, and i have never heard of a claim not being honored."
Granted he's just a front line rep, but that is promising information.

Sure. I'll buy what he said about the warranty.
Just some slight misinformation though: there is more than one model for the "international" GN (although the hardware is identical):
GT-i9250
GT-i9250M
GT-i9250T
SC-04D
The ones sold in Canada, and now in the U.S., are GT-i9250M.

Hey all. I'm using my nexus on T-Mobile US and have run into a battery issue that I'll probably need samsung's support on. Now that GSM nexuses are being sold in the US, does anyone know if Samsung US (or Google) will support UK models that reside here?

Nope. They won't support phones they didn't sell. They know by the IMEI number whether or not your phone is a European model or not.
If you bought it from an importer, contact them to initiate a warranty claim with Samsung Europe.
If you chose not to use a reputable importer, you're pretty much SoL. Samsung Europe won't process a warranty claim on a grey market device sold to the US.
What problem are you having?
If you have a battery issue it is easier to just buy a new battery because as above.. you won't get any support.

From what I understand, if there is only one model for U.S. then I would buy the Tmobile version, unlock and use it on Verizon. Im positive it will work cause I did the same for Nexus 6 and iPhone 6. Buying a Tmobile version cause I thought it comes with unlocked bootloader or at least, it's easier than Verizon

As I understand it, if we buy the International, unlocked model, we can't get the Samsung warranty honored in the US. Is this correct? Has anyone successfully gotten lucky with Samsung honoring it?
And most importantly, have you guys tried and have had success with third party warranties like Square Trade and etc? ?

3rd party should work. Samsung officially says they dont honor it but I've heard cases of good will happening where they do fix it. If you are that worried about warranty I would buy the locked US version. I'm buying the Dual Sim version and taking my chances. If its DOA then you can always return it to the original seller they normally accept 30 days issues.
I've owned Samsung international devices since the Galaxy S II. Not only do they not warranty devices sold outside their selling region they also don't service them at your expense. You can't even add an international device to your U.S. Samsung account. You're literally on your own with a Samsung international device in the U.S.

I want to buy an HTC 10 through eBay or Amazon to save money. I don't want an international version because I understand that it can't use AT&T or Cricket LTE networks. The eBay and Amazon ads hardly ever say whether the phone for sale is a U.S. version or international version. Can anyone tell me how to identify the U.S. version of the phone, whether by UPC, model number or whatever?

You might be able to find out from htc using the info you mentioned. They have a live chat, you could find out in a couple mins.

Get a close up photo of the back. US models in small lettering on the bottom say "Model: 2PS6500" International will say "2PS6200"
You could also ask for the IMEI (you should do this anyway to make sure the phone isn't blacklisted), and check it with ESN Checker which you can find here.

I have doubts on buying a S20, which is on retail demo mode. I know only, that the phone is UK version. Is it possible to repair its IMEI, so that it can be updated after that or there is no chance? I asked a few guys, who have posted videos on YouTube, offering that service, but only two of them answered, and said, that the phone can not be updated after that, if it is European version and that banking apps can not be used on it anymore. Is it true?
Just one told me he can do it possible for update. The CPU is Exynos. The price is 220USD. Is this the only solution?

Usually demo units dont have hardware to even capture signal, so unless you need one for spare parts i wouldnt bother

Don't buy. It's mostly stolen regardless what the seller say.
Why I say so, s20 is too new in the market for retail shops to want to sell off their demo unit.
So don't even buy it. You'll be supporting a thief.

Yeah, you are probably right, he claims it has baseband and only the IMEI needs replacement. It is not worth the money either, he wants 360GBP for it, repairing Exynos costs another 220USD and at the end it's stolen, it's Exynos and is more expensive than second hand not stolen.
I don't know only how they bring them to retail mode, ruining the real IMEI, to make them non trackable.
S20 demo unit has antenna. And is repairable.
