[Q]?HDMedia link + micro sd slot ? - HTC One X

Hello Forum !
Just wondering if there is a solution for my needs ,
what i want is using some type of media link or cables to watch my hd adult movie collection on big screen (on my LCD TV ) ,and also want to be able to connect my external micro sd card to this media link in case I want other 32 gig of sexy time .
Oh and probably i will need some charging going on too , because if i start watching i just cant stop ...
seriously is there anything out on the market for ppl like me?
it doesn't need to be a wireless solution !
thanks

Buy an Western Digital Live media player, that's what I use for my movies (not sexy time movies tho)
I paid £90 on Ebay for mine 4 yrs ago & it's still going strong. Plays EVERY file I throw at it incl mkv
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium

thanks for quick reply blade30p!!!
but i don't want to carry anything more than my phone and its accessories ,
i paid 500 euros for this piece of technology , i demand to watch sexy time movies on it anytime anywhere on any screen ! also i have invested money earlier on to this 32gig micro sd card, it would be waste to leave it behind ,
thanks !!!

for chronic masturbation i recommend some sort of specialized counseling...
and due to the OneX very high SAR values, i recommend to keep it away from your balls unless you want them to explode

Why don't you just use Plex from Play Store and an MHL lead.
Software installs on the phone and PC, then streams to the phone. When you want to use the TV just plug it into the MHL lead, it charges this way too.

Micro to USB Adaptor is Awesome!

So the day I bought My SGS2 I seen a Video on YouTube about this guy using a Micro USB to Female USB adapter, and all the cool things it could do.
I looked on eBay and from good old China (where everything is made! Probably the sun and God where made there too...) it was only $4.
So I though well I might never use it, but for $4 I'll buy it for the hell of it.

Well it came today! I though hum... I'm going to see if my wireless mouse works and it dose! a little mouse comes on the screen and it works just like a computer
even in games Played some "Dragon Fly" ("Tiny Wings" for Iphone) worked good. I even booted up the old DOS emulator and played Ultima 8!
Going to try some Ultima Underworld but need to charge my battery!
I think I'm going to make some videos of playing some old dos games on YouTube. I'll post a link here when I do.
In for the videos
Looks good, I'm gonna get me one
A bluetooth mouse works great too, no need for adapters.

Yes, you can read a external HD but the phone might not power it, depending on the HD. But if that is the case then you just need a powered usb splitter and your good.

Just to let people know they don't work with NTFS formatted drives. I thought my cable was broke until i reformatted the flashdrive using FAT32 and it was recognized no problem.

I got my USB-OTG cable today, and was quite disappointed. It was annoying to see that NTFS wasn't compatible. Also every external bus powered HD I tried complained about it being a high powered USB device, as did my iPod.
I also tried a USB Optical Mouse, and a cursor popped up on the screen, but it wasn't moving I will try a cheaper one at work tomorrow. USB Pen drives/Flash disks seem to work, as long as it is only Fat32.
- Edit -
Tried a different (Dell) optical mouse at work today and it seems to work fine, also tried my 16gb USB flash disk and that worked great and quite fast, tried some films and documents through it and it was flawless.
A couple of people have mentioned that a 'bigger cable' or 'powered cable' is needed to get bigger USB drives working. What exactly does that mean??
Yet i tried mine las night, its fast respond for flash disk reading but need a bigger cable to read external hdd. But i think it necessary for those who often worked woth flash disk

Miniature MicroSD Reader (Kickstarter project)

Hey guys,
For those of us running custom ROMs that enable USB-OTG, I just saw a really cool kickstarter project yesterday (and am already a backer) for a miniature microsd reader that you can just plug into your phone/tablet. I'm not in any way related to this project, I just really, really want to see it get funded. Here's an excerpt from the project page http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/andyfei/mini-microsd-reader-for-android-smartphones-and-ta
Hello world! You like your Nexus tablet but you hate the fact that it doesn't have a built-in SD card reader for storage expansion? My brother and I felt that way when we first got one in July 2012. So we decided to do something about it -- make one for it. After many months of hard work, finally we have something that we feel good about and we want to share with the world.
What does it do?
Well, it is just like a SD card reader that you use on your computer, except it is for Android tablets and smartphones that have MicroUSB port. You can use it to read/write MicroSD cards, copy files between your phone/tablet and a MicroSD card.
It supports MicroSDHC cards up to 32GB (max capacity by SDHC standard), and MicroSDXC cards up to 64GB (max capacity available on the market). SDXC standard supports cards up to 2TB -- this reader should support future MicroSDXC cards of higher capacity up to that, but we have no way of testing it right now.

Really cool
Sweet idea, but I'd much prefer an idea like this, but built in to a case - so you can still have it plugged in while it's in your pocket.

Very cool Expandable Storage device for your android phones

Hi Friends,
We have a new product on kickstarters called µGO is a device that lets you extend your Android mobile and tablet's storage capacity infinitely. µGO provides both an SD/SDHC and a microSD card slot which you can use to transfer data to and from your mobile device. µGO also lets you power/charge your device and sync with your computer without unplugging µGO from your device. µGO achieves this by providing an auxiliary microUSB port build in.
Please check it out and if you like it, please support us by contributing to the funding.
Search for "Expandable SD and Micro SD storage for Android users" in Kickstarter
If your guys have any questions let me know and I'll try to answer them as much as possible.

Just curious, why did you have to cancel this KS campaign a year ago and restart it again now? Also, if you already put work and resources into making this product last year, why will it take that long second time around to be available only in August? Sorry, not trying to give you a hard time, just curious.

Last year I went with a target of 25K which turned out to be unrealistic. So i cancelled the funding. I did not post after that as the manufacturer I was working with would only produces at 10K units or more. I rebooted the funding as I found a new manufacturer who can produce 100 units minimum.
I already have the prototype I use. If this even goes to those 100 people who need something like this, I will be happy to work with them. So i rebooted the funding with a lowered goal of 5K.
I need one of these.

When can we get unlocked bootloader?

There's no topic for it,so here it is.
Please let the Fire TV XDA community know when the exploit for unlocking the bootloader becomes available.
Just post the link to it when it comes out.
I hope it is not too expensive because I don't have that much freely spendable cash (I think less than 10$) to buy a money card to transfer it to PayPal.
I really wish that it was free,or that I could do something helpful to get it for free.

It will be out, patience must be a virtue.
@jcase mentioned it on his twitter recently: https://twitter.com/TeamAndIRC/status/482768021904048128
He also showed a custom recovery running on the fireTV via @rbox: https://twitter.com/TeamAndIRC/status/483444034854060033
So Please calm down, wait for the devs due their work and fix the bugs!
Thank you mastermind... Well said.
Also, am I the only one that thinks the 25$ Sunshine app is worth that price.. Cause I will buy it to be able to unlock the boot loader, an then be able to install a custom ROM, tweaked for xbmc and controllers.. Keep up the good work guys. Thanks. ?

I've contemplated compiling a pure AOSP rom for FireTV. As for one "tweaked for xbmc"... what doesn't the stock rom do if you use my xposed module to make it the launcher?
I would like to try a AOSP ROM for the fire TV.. I am a fan of minimal and linux operating systems.. That I can mod to my hearts content.
I love having XBMC as my launcher.. Yes! Awesome! Thanks.
But that's basically it.. As stripped down as it can possibly be.. No frills, all about efficiency. No files for things not part of the original device.. Like mobile data apps.. NFC.. mms.. Blah blah..
But I would like to have the ability to mount an external drive as 'android' system folder.. Would a symbolic link work? Needs to be available at boot I would think.
Like on my Linux box or way back when I started with windows..
One drive is for the OS the other is for 'home' in Linux, or in windows for all other data..
I'd like to figure a way to do the same thing with the fire TV.. Internal storage just for the OS, external for all else.. Settings, installed apps, data..
That way.. In theory if the hardware fails.. A new device with the old drive would become an 'instant' restore.. With your data and apps intact.
Cameras, controllers, and light pack.. The ambilight clone.. works with android but not the fire TV.. Are among other things I am thinking of..
Hope that makes some sense.. Its late and I must retire for the night.

That's not really how Android works. I think maybe you want to just run a Linux dist on the Fire TV instead...
Oh. I had kinda figured maybe.. I need to brush up on my understanding on android.. Lol..
I've been using Linux as my daily driver for years.. Even had my parents using Linux.. They did not care to understand what it is or means or does..
Now.. We all have android devices.. I've modded, rooted, tweaked a few of them.. Now.. The fire TV..
If you make that rom.. I am willing to try it.. And like I said.. The 25$ is well worth it to me Sunshine.
