I need STOCK sounds, notifications, ringtones from WP7 - Windows Phone 7 Development and Hacking

Hi -
I am posting today to request that someone provide the download link for all the Windows Phone 7 sounds, notifications and ringtones.
I would prefer these sound files to be extracted from an up to date STOCK ROM for Windows Phone 7.
If you can do this for me, I'll upload all the HTC/Windows Mobile STOCK ringtones/alerts from years ago.
Nevermind - Want something done, you have to do it yourself.

You forgot to say "please".

Hi -
My apologies, I figured if I have something in return the please isn't necessary as it would be a trade.
But, thanks for the reminder,
So I will ask politely, will someone out there who has access to the stock sounds please archive them up and share them?
Thank you!

Also, this is a question/request, which doesn't belong in Development.
I see you have another thread now, so I'll go ahead and close this one.

[UPDATED] Miri ROM update watcher.

Hi everyone.
I'm a BIG fan of Miri's ROMs, and because of this I was always eager to know when he's released a new version. I could obviously keep checking the thread where his ROMs are posted & discussed, but I wanted something to let me know as soon as he posted something, without me having to manually check.
With that in mind, I came up with the "MiriROMWatcher" application. Simply download the file linked below and follow these instructions to install it...
Miri ROM Watcher - download
1. Unzip the rar file and place the exe file somewhere on your harddrive that you're happy with
2. Create a shortcut to the exe file (right-click and drag the file, let go and select "Create shortcut(s) here").
3. Move that shortcut file into your windows startup folder (so it starts every time you run windows.)
4. Double click the shortcut, or exe, to run the program.
Once it's running, it sits in your system tray and checks Miri's page every 10 minutes to see if the page title has changed. If it has, the icon flashes until you double-click it. (Double-clicking opens the thread in your default browser, whether flashing or not.) Since Miri changes the thread title to reflect the version number, it's a pretty simple way of looking for a new version of the ROM.
This is not a flashy, user-friendly program - it's a simple app that does a simple thing. With that in mind, there'll be no config files or front end, and it will probably never be updated in any way. If it doesn't work for you, send me a private message and I'll see if I can help, but I'm not promising anything. It's such a simple app that it should just work anyway.
Hope it helps some people out. If there's enough interest I'll look at doing a mobile version, so you know of updates even when you're out and about!
Thanks all.
Edit:
I've modified the application to ignore page titles "Error Message" and "502 Bad Gateway". Whenever the XDA forum went down (for whatever reason), the app was seeing the error or gateway message as a new page title, and showing an update. It now simply ignores the page if it sees one of those titles. If you need to update the app, simply replace the existing exe file with the new one (make sure that the app is not running when you do this, or it won't work.)
MOD EDIT
As this is an application I've moved it to Themes, Applications and Software forum. I suggest you also post a link in Miri's threads
Cheers Spartan.
cool, he really deserves that attention. Great artist.
great thanks ...
Thanks my friend, I added a link to the first post of the ROM thread.

Guess I will have to do updates as required then, eh
Cheers Miri!
QuickGPS
Might be a silly question but is Quick GPS included in this ROM? if not is there anywhere i can download it from?
Thanks
wtf? wrong thread my friend!
what a cool idea!! cheers
hej!
nice idea about the ROM watcher! I usually use twitter to follow Miri, or
twitter.com/dXsL/Leo-ROM-development.
Now Miri has moved to HTCpedia, guess the app needs an update

Dev Questions

Hi all,
I'm currently working on a 2.1 Sense-UI 'Lite' Rom, which will use a customised, lightened version of the Espresso Rosie. I'll be no-doubt spending every second of my free time in Photoshop with the aim of making this rom look stunning.
As for the rom itself:
I've used highlights from several of the current 2.1 releases from this and other forums, and I'm pretty happy with it so far; it has a very small 'not working' list, and the filesize is reasonably low for a Sense UI rom. Of course, I'll credit people where credit is due.
Anyway, the questions. Some of this may seem incredibly dumb. Please assume that I have an understanding of Linux, but I am very new to Android Development. I've simply read the guide that Lox posted, then taken a 'learn whilst I work' approach. So...
1. How do I edit the 'Software Number'? (I can't seem to find it)
2. If I start again with a clean, AOSP 2.1 rom, how do I make it use Rosie? It can't just be a case of putting the Rosie.apk in the right place can it?
3. If I want to select which apps/widgets appear and where, do I edit the relevant XML which contains the Screen/X/Y locations?
If/when I have more questions, I'll post them here!
Thanks in advance
1. Sorry dont know,
2. No you need to add all the framework files, quite a few of them I think.
3. system/customize/mns/default.xml
Dan
Thanks Dan. I have the Framework files, so that's easy enough.
I suspected it was the default.xml, so thanks again.
Anyone know the answer to my first question?
I think that it is somwhere in build.prop but I can be wrong.
1. No idea what you mean by 'Software Number'
2. com.htc.framework.jar and friends need to be added to init.rc's BOOTCLASSPATH var ... so at the very least, you need to provide a custom boot.img ... that rules out adding it over other custom ROMs ... on top of that all the Rosie related /system files need to be present...
3. yes - that default.xml is the place ..
Good luck ...!
(Side note ... Why oh why would you want to add sense!)

[Q] Theme Questions (noob)

ok so i have had this idea sence i bought this phone of making a complete rework theme/rom and all the icons, i have been searching around for all the info i need and found some but not all so i am going to post some questions and hopefully when i get off work the main ones will be answered so i can start. i have been dieing to do this for a week lol.
1. i have windows 7, to make things easy should i just dual boot win xp?
2. i want to change the notafication bar but i have not been able to find ware the icons are?
3. I read that i need to sign all the apks i change if i stay with win7 will the program someone made to sign apps work?
4. If i edit the image in the drawable dpi(i think thats the folder) do i also need to edit the XML docs?
5. if i want the rom to install lancher pro by default and set up a custom tray is that possible or dose it have to be changed after you install the ROM?
i know some of the questions might seem stupid but im trying to learn because i really do enjoy tweaking this phone i have been walking around with a notepad all week sketching ideas down as they come to mind so any help would be great thanks everyone.
Here is my current theme and widgets
well apparently i cant post outside links so i will have to add them later here is the album to them thou

+1, I have had a hard time finding enough info to make me comfortable to start editing the 100 or so .pngs in drawable-hdpi.

[Q][02/02/2012]How to edit apk files

Hello people,
I am basically php developer.
So, if you can give me a chance to learn Android, I really appreciate it.
The question is that I really want to edit HtcContact.apk and SoftBank mail apk.
[1st Q]
What I want to do with the first one , HtcContact.apk, is that I want to add some field into it when editing the contacts.
This is because there is additional field something called "the reading of Chinese characters" in Japan.
This field enables to order the contact list.
Most of the roms do not contains this additional fields.
[2nd Q]
I want to modify SoftBank mail apk because I want to try MIUI ROM.
The problem with it is that I cannot receive the message using that app as MIUI uses different protocol or something.
I really do not know what to modify.
My knowledge is something like below.
I already installed Android environment in my PC(Win7).
I know how to flash radio too.
Best regards.
ROM: ARHD 6.3.2
Device: Desire HD
Radio: ARHD recommended radio
Im not a expert but dont you have to decompile the apk to do that. I recommend finding a open source contact app and modify that (or pick on that already have support for that function) and then replace the htc contact app
Q2 I have heard that miui i releaseing many of theirs apps as open source.

Thank you very much for your post.
I just tried to reinstall HtcContacts.apk.
However, after installed it, lots of errors are occurring and can not open contacts.
Maybe, I did wrong way to install.
What I did is i just install it using root explore.
Then, about Q2, I will ask someone in MIUI developers.
Thanks, anyways.
Hum.. Try clearing cache? Might remove the errors.
Ok...after work, i will try it.
