Ghost armor/Extremeguard-which one? - Galaxy S III Accessories

I have watched several youtube reviews and looked through many pictures. I really like the ghost armor option. Is the Extreme Guard made out of the same type material? looks like it is a thicker, more "rubber" like protection instead of the cheaper hard clear plastic covers.
I see that extreme guard has that 75% code right now which makes me really interested.
Does anyone have experience with both? Which would you recommmend and why?
(As of now I do not see the S3 as an option through ghost Armor but I am sure they will be developing a skin shortly)

Just bought a couple from xtremeguard for 12 buck got 2 full and 2 fronts screen protectors. Thats like 2 beers at the bar. Go for it. Don't like it you know for next time.

Best Brand for screen protectors?

Anyone here that has owned a capacitive touch screen, please feel free to chime in with which screen protector you liked the most!
Im looking to buy a protector that doesn't impede the touch experience & image quality of this amazing screen.
Also a warning against bad brands would be appreciated. I Believe Zagg/Invisi shield has already been established as a bad buy.
As another discouraged zagg user, I recommend buying cheap packs off of ebay. They usually are smooth and clear, but they get damaged every 1 or 2 months for me, but that's no problem as they were cheap and I just put a new one on. All the expensive ones seem to have a problem with clarity or feel, but if anyone else has a suggestion I would like to know too.
I'm going to wait for gadgetshieldz to come out with one. They may be coming from India, but their customer service is actually good when I needed another front screen skin for my Tilt 2 because the cut was slightly off. They mailed me an entire full body set within no time. Plus they're reeeeally cheap (Tilt 2 full body set was 6.99 - some discount percentage that was floating around) and lasted me almost the entire lifespan of my phone (Switched from Zagg).
Ok, but how does it feel? Is it smooth to swype as the glass screen beneath it? Clarity?
I use BodyGuardz for all of my phones (started with iPhone 3g -> Blackberry 8900 -> Blackberry 9700) and have not had a problem with them. Did not affect the touch capabilities of my iPhone 3G and kept the screen nice and new underneath.

I haven't used it on a capacitive screen, so I wouldn't know how it actualyl performs. But it's a lot smoother than the Zagg shields I've had before on the phone and iPods and such. The screen protector on my Tilt2 looked great, didn't skew the image at all. I eventually had to take it off though because resistive touch screen + skin = bleh. Pending user installation, you can hardly tell it's there.
nice, ill deff look into bodyguard n gadget shield. next question is, should i put the film all over my phone or just get a case n only use a shield on the screen.
guess what im sayin is: Is the film covering the screen and body enough? id really rather not add the bulk of a full blown case to my device.
p.s. heres another site with protectors that someone vouched for here
http://www.bestskinsever.com/
I started with Zagg, but have moved to BodyGuardz for my last 3 devices. They are the same quality, but for the same price as 1 Zagg sheild, you get two (2) BodyGaurdz protectors.
Currently using BodyGaurdz on the following products with no problems to report:
HTC Tilt 2 (Touch Pro 2)
HCT Pure (Wife's Phone)
Zune HD
soon on the Samsung Captivate
The real question is when will SwitchEasy-like devices come out that snap around the phone, like what the iPhone has???
is switch easy the ones that are relatively thick? Also, no one offered any insight yet on my question, do you think a case is necessary or will just a film covering over the phone be enough? I really like how sleek this phone looks and dont really want to add to its dimensions.
All I know is I had accidentally thrown my iPhone into some pavement and without the switch easy case, it would've been SOL.
Just look at their website. The cases fit like a glove and are very seamlined (They are not big and bulky like otterbox)
wow those cases look amazing. i would purchase something like this in a heartbeat for the captivate. its not thick, it holds the phone together great, and it looks comfy on the hands. Ima shoot them a letter requesting a skin for the att captivate. maybe if more people do they will consider it. So far it looks like they are only doing iProducts cases tho.
Here's a link:
http://www.switcheasy.com/
if anyone knows of a company that does cases similar to this and support a wider range of products, plz post it here.
Yea, they're awesome cases. They protect it great but don't add a ton of bulk.
They're i-Product only though, as you found out. That's why I was asking if anyone knew of something similar here.
boxwave.com[/url]
I've had their antiglare protectors on all my phones, great for capacitive touch. I'll probably NOT go antiglare on the Captivate because you do loose some picture quality with the antiglare. $13ish for a single one, $25 or so for a 3 pack. That site also has a lot of other nice cheap accessories, like cables/chargers etc. I have on of their cases on my ipod though and don't care for it. Just don't like neoprene style cases.
wait what? You probably will go with antiglare because you lose some picture quality? This seems counter productive.
i know thats probably not what you meant to say. I'm hoping what you meant to say is that you wouldnt go anti glare? idk

You are correct sir, edited post.
Just get the casemate protectors from at&t they are $10 and you get 3 to a pack. The are clear and perfectly cut, you also cannot beat the convenience.

Looking for a case.

I'm looking to get a case for my SGS2, i picked it up locally on CL a few weeks ago and the film that was on the back cover is starting to get messed up, figure I should just get a case.
Anyhow, i'm looking for a case that is easy going in and out of the pocket (a must, its why i have left the film on it, nice and easy out of the pocket), dot need or care about kickstand, and looking to get it on amazon, been looking at all the cases i could find on amazon and came up with two that i think fit the bill, any one have experience with them?
and
- http://www.amazon.com/Fishbone-Cove...=wireless&rps=1&ie=UTF8&qid=1332714551&sr=1-5
was also looking at skins as well, just for the extra bit of protection, which of these would be best?
- http://www.amazon.com/invisibleSHIE...OCBU/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1332713547&sr=8-2
- http://www.amazon.com/invisibleSHIE...amsung-Hercules/dp/B0064NO8HI/ref=pd_cp_cps_0
The Aegis case is great (not sure about the Fishbone one though), can't really go wrong.
I would probably go with this one;
http://www.amazon.com/Seidio-CSK3SS..._1_3?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1332720616&sr=1-3
As for skins, don't bother with full skin. If you want a screen protector, Invisishield is excellent, my brother has it on his International S2 and it's very clear and nice, he loves it.
Personally I don't use a screen protector on mine, no issues with scratches whatsoever, not even fine scratches.
Yeah, if you want a good screen/case combo, can't go wrong with Aegis or my preference the Seidio case and invisishield screen protector.
i know when i had the Seido Activ case for my Nexus S it was a bit "grippy" and pulled my pocket out when brining the phone out (slight annoyance), is that one the same?
Having the film is more for the back/sides protection, i saw some threads about how some cases can scratch it up.

For the skin, I would recommend a Ghost Armor one. I just got mine and I'm in love with it. You can barely notice the screen protector is on it, and it works great. Also the texture of the carbon fiber feels great and will keep your phone looking and feeling just like new.
What about this one:
http://www.amazon.com/Body-Glove-Sa..._1_2?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1332726722&sr=1-2
It looks great, I brought it and Im a happy customer
i bought this one
http://www.amazon.com/Premium-Hybrid-Silicone-Durable-Kickstand/dp/B0070DGQW6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1332729809&sr=8-1
im using the sedio active case with clip. not too bulky and easy goes in and out of pocket.
but if you wear skinny jeans like some of these kids nowadays then go with the thinnest case possible.
ended up getting the fishbone one, will update when it shows up (it was @ the $10 mark which i had a gift card on amazon for that amount)
i didnt care for the fishbone case. i have a black one and i dont like the way it feels and it seems to kinda pick up lint in my pocket. i have one pretty much new just sitting here lol. i like this case the best.

The Best Case Ever
The 3DO impact resistant case that Tmobile sells is the best case for any cell phone I have ever seen. It doesn't hang up on clothing like other gel cases and the 3DO technology is outstanding. You must see this case to believe how great it is. Meanwhile check out the videos here and on YouTube (search 3DO)
http://bit.ly/f2gHRk
In my opinion this case is worth every penny and then some. It feels awesome in the hand, doesn't hang up in a pocket and offers superb impact protection.

Anyone try BodyGuardz?

I wanted to put something on my S3, but didnt want it too bulky as the slimness is one of the great features...So I end up looking at a few and think I want to try the bodyguardz armor and screen protector. Just wondering if anyone has used it lately and if it can be put on easy and cover and look good? Also wondering about the screen protector that comes with it. You see I had one on my iphone 3gs I just upgraded from and it had the best protector I have seen, my wife and kids had the zagg and it sucked, the orange peel and most of them ended up with jacked up edges before long and all that. But the one I had , well I have no freaking clue what brand it was...it was rigid, not a floppy skin like the zaggs and most others, it was more stiff and stayed flat if you held it on your figure for instance. I just wish I remembered who made that one as it would be my choice for sure.

Bump - I'm interested to hear if anybody has tried the bodyguardz for this phone too. Particularly the carbon fiber one.
I have used BG for over 3 years now (Palm Pre, EVO OG, E4GT, and now my GS3). I don't know why people don't comment much on it. I have tried the big guys, Ghost Armor, Zagg, etc. and I always keep coming back to BG. The build quality, clarity, application (especially the new ones with the gel) are second to none. You also get 2 sets per kit in case you mess up and unlimited lifetime replacements. Their customer service is amazing.
No orange peel, no weird Zagg texturing, simply clear.
I highly, highly recommend them. You won't regret it.

That's awesome. Thanks.
I'm not going to be put the screen protector on though...might change my mind, but really I'm buying it for the carbon fiber skin. I do not drop my phone, so all I want is scratch/scuff protection. Anybody used the skins, particularly the carbon fiber? I'm really curious if it's got any friction or grip or if it's really slippery still. Thanks!
I've previously used BSE on some products and always had good results.

Drop Protective Case?

Hello guys i m new here . I m going to get a red nexus 5 in 2 days, and i want to order a case from amazon probably. My last phone was xperia x8(lol too old) and it was very good in terms of drop resistance,i have dropped it like 5-7 times. For my nexus 5 i consider buying the official bumper (Sorry i cant use links since i m new here),the cruzerlite persona case ,THE CRUZERLITE BUGDROID CASE and THE TUDIA Ultra Slim Melody . However the last one, which i like the most(tudia melody) doesnt ship to Greece..
Could you guys reccomend me any good drop-protective cases for nexus 5 with a decent design? I dont want something too bulky or ugly. Also does the quality of screen protector matter? All the screen protectors from amazon dont ship to my country, and i will probably have to stick with some local ones. How terrible could they be!?
Thanks in advance. Any help will be appreciated !

Comes in a couple different colors. I had to order it from T-Mobile online (even though I'm not T-Mobile customer), but others said they were able to get it from Amazon.

Thanks for the reply ! In their official site it costs ~30 euro + 7 for delivery so its quite expensive (compared to the other cases that cost around 15 ). I watched the video that u sent me,so it seems its worth it . i will probably get this! Whats the matter with the red case ? ( I saw your comment in the video talking about the red case)
Edit: Why is there space in the bottom ? The phone will break if it lands this way.
IAt the bottom, there's still protection, even though it looks open. You can't get the glass to touch anything. Other people have mentioned this, but they are wrong. They don't own it.
It's only partially open at the bottom, to allow the speakers and usb port some room.
The materiel still runs along the very bottom, and on the front and back corners. Even at any angle, nothing on the phone will touch any flat surface.
Theoretically, if the phone was falling at a very severe angle and hit something small and hard that was protruding up from a flat surface, yes it could hit that.
But I have accidentally dropped the phone on hard surfaces and this case protected it.

Thanks. Ive seen some of other drop tests though from higher places. I cant post links,so if you want to watch type this in youtube : Nexus 5 Drop Test Part 2! (Tudia Melody Case) .
This case for example is much cheaper. But eventually i will probably go with the tech 21 ,i suppose its worth the extra $ . I must be really careful until the case arrives though!!!

I've seen an iPhone in a tech21 case fall 20 feet onto concrete with no damage. But that's an iPhone not a nexus. I own a tech 21, a slim armor, and a ballistic sg for my nexus. Personally I don't trust the tech21 to protect better than my other two cases. I also believe the ballistic will protect the best. I have no science or personal experience behind these statements being I have never dropped my nexus. The tech 21 feels best in the hand but looks like crap because the back is clear and scratches super easily. So I use the slim armor looks awesome and I think will protect against drops. I think the ballistic is the most protective case made for the nexus, but it's huge.

I saw a g2 drop test with slim armor and.. the screen broke.Seriously i begin to think that they is no way to protect the screen ,when dropping the phone.
These were done outside on Concrete:
Cruzerlite Nexus 5 Drop Tests (survives no problems) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KY9Svj9fYVg
Tudia Melody Nexus 5 Drop tests (survives no problems) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sbaz8FNY34A
Both much cheaper than the Tech21 and both protect extremely well on concrete drops and tosses. If you matched one of those TPU cases with a Tempered Glass Screen Protector such as the Nillkin H+ (I use it, it's fantastic and it's less than $15 on Amazon) you're pretty much covered for most drops.
Nillkin H+ promo video (a little over the top, but you get the general idea) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=61fnJu3HZKg
Basically, one of those TPU cases + a Tempered Glass Screen Protector still comes out to cost less than the Tech21 and you have complete coverage.

Nillkin H+ (look at more buying choices on the right, there may be other sellers that ship to you) http://www.amazon.com/Nilkin-Hardness-Tempered-Screen-Protectors/dp/B00GQOQKJE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1399237678&sr=8-1&keywords=nillkin+H%2B+nexus+5

Ya I saw that one too. I've also read a post here where somebody said their screen shattered while using a ballistic. I'd say you're right, there is no way to guarantee your screen won't break from a drop. That's why I chose the middle ground, between a good looking case and a protective case, and settled on the slim armor coupled with a ghost armor screen protector.

I m not limited ordering from amazon as long as the delivery prices are reasonable .For example ordering from tech 21 site is much cheaper and gets delivered much faster than amazon.Btw Which cruzerlite case would you recommend(in terms of material, not design) . Ebay has some crazy delivery prices ,for some things it needed up to 50$ for the delivery lol. You are right, the nilkin is available from one of the buying choises but it says it needs 2 months to ship ._ .

Skin/Case Review Thread - Post'em up here!

So I just ordered three cases from Amazon, a Spigen, ProCase, and an off-brand one that I've never heard of before. Once they arrive I'll take a bunch of pics and post up my feedback on these to help educate anyone interested in a case or skin! Was thinking about going with one of those Dragon Skins too, look awesome, but I'll probably wait for my cases to come first!
Let's see some of those bad ass Note 8's, and the respective outer-layer for which you chose..!!
I just got this case about a week ago. I was looking for something like an otterbox but didn't want to pay so much for one. This is as good, if not better, than the otterbox. The Encased Rebel I found on Amazon for about $15 after searching and searching for the right case. It's a three piece case. The sides of the case come up higher than most cases to protect the edge glass and it doesn't affect the functionality of the edge apps at all, even with the glass screen protector I have on it. I picked up a 4-pack of cheap "case-friendly" glass screen protectors on ebay and they work fine, even when using the stylus. I really want to try the Whitestone Dome screen protector, but after seeing videos on Youtube about it and case compatibility, I don't think this case would work with it. I like that the hole for the stylus is smaller, offering better drop protecction for that corner while still allowing easy removal of the stylus. The ONLY negative I have found with the case is that the buttons were hard to press at first but after a week of use they are breaking in and getting easier. I will stick with this case. Amazon also sold an option to get a holster with it for a couple bucks more but i didn't get it.
Toast makes a great real wood cover for Note 8.

Amazon also sold an option to get a holster with it for a couple bucks more but i didn't get it.
