[MOD][DEV] Long press volume buttons to skip song - Samsung Galaxy W I8150

Hi all!
In my latest rom i was trying to port this usefull features seen in this thread and with a bit of reverse engineering i was able to do it. As i write it's not work properly, only with stock lockscreen and only volume down button works
To do this i first try with the basic code by aerobahn, then with the fixed one by jkay (u can find it after some page), but the result won't change. So by studying the keycode I try to put some modifications in the code's logic and I also decrement the long press time, but again only volume down is working!
So can some developers help me to do this mod pls? U can see my attacched modified files (based on jkay code)

how to install this tweak??

[ROM] Ritzy's Rom v2.0,,,,,,, Its finally here.

Okey friends, its finally here, Version 2.0.......
Based on XXJVT 2.3.5 base.
Its specially for 'indian' users.
please try this rom out....
Base-2.3.5 JVT
Modem-DDJV5
CSC-DDJV9
Kernel- Darkcore 4.1
lots of modifications...
I've removed a few useless apps from samsung, and added a few good ones,
and you can also customize it yourself before flashing it.
You can flash it through recovery, if you are using custom recovery like cwm, etc...
Please give it a try, hope you'll like it.
I've removed some apps from samsung that i thought were useless, but if you want, you can add them to the rom before flashing it (procedure given below).
It includes:
Kernel- Darkcore 4.1, which includes voodoo sound v10.
0Both latest Indian modem and CSC (from ddjv9)
overscroll glow (blue).
RAM Booster patches. and SD card Speed Fix.
Lagfix, Superuser, Root, BusyBox, etc inbuild.
Almost no FC's
Good Battery backup.
Remove all the useless Samsung bloatware, specially the Touchwiz 3 UI, which i so hate...making it fast.
Extended Power Menu.
BLN notification. (you need to download the BLN app from market)
Added some apps (latest Versions) - GO Launcher EX, File Expert, VooDoo Control, etc.
Stock browser with user-agent selection and unlimited tabs.
Heavily Themed Dialer, Phone, SMS app, Jog Tabs, etc. Transparent effect.
Statusbar icons from my previous rom, the "all circular" ones.
Pattern Unlock icons changed to FroYo, i liked the transparent froyo look better than the dull gingerbread look.
14 Customizable statusbar toggle buttons. ( use "QuickPanel Settings" app in the rom).
'Galaxy S - Bios Load' Boot animation.
SMS - No contact limit + No MMS convert after 3 sms.
Extended PowerMenu + CRTOff + Clear Glass Lock.
Dialog boxes and pop-up windows have black crystal-glass transparent look.
Lots more fixes, can't remember them all right now.
HOW TO INSTALL:
If u do not have CWM recovery, ie.-
if you are using "STOCK" rom, ie the official samsung rom, (or any rom that does not has CWM recovery), flash CWM Recovery first-
[If u have CWM recovery already, skip to STEP B.]
STEP A:
Flashing CWM Recovery....
**IMPORTANT NOTE** - Before flashing the CWM kernel, make sure you copy the rom zip file [ STEP C, Part 1 ].
CWM recovery kernel is a bit unstable and can sometimes give problems but its only role is to provide CWM recovery and when you complete step C, the kernel is replaced by DarkCore kernel which is very stable and the problem is solved. So if your phone goes into a boot-loop after step A, directly go to step C and complete the procedure.
Download "CWM recovery.zip" (link given below).
Extract the zip, there are two files- "odin" and "pda"....
Open odin, and in the window that appears, press 'PDA' button and browse for the 'pda' file from the zip.
Then put your phone in download mode as follows-
Turn phone off.
Hold Volume Down.
Now hold Home.(while still pressing the vol down key)
Now hold Power.(while still pressing both the previous keys)
Wait until you see samsung logo.
Release Power. (still holding onto others).
Wait until you see the download screen.
Release other buttons.
Then connect your Phone to pc, through usb,,,, odin window should show a yellow line now, after that, press 'start' on odin. When the flashing is complete, your phone will automatically reboot — and when you see the Samsung logo, you can safely unplug the cable. Plus, you’ll get a PASS (with green background) message in the left-most box at the very top of the Odin.
IMPORTANT Note: If ODIN gets stuck and doesn’t seem to be doing anything, or you get a FAIL message (with red background) in ODIN, do the following:
Disconnect the phone from the PC, close ODIN, remove battery, re-insert it, turn phone on in Download mode again, and do the procedure again from Step 5.
STEP B (OPTIONAL):
Selecting which apps you want to install in the rom-
Download the System apps (link given below).
Extract the "Rom zip file" (link given below) {Latest is v2.0, but can also install older versions if u want.} to some folder,,, it should contain 5 folders- data, meta-inf,script,system,updates.
Go to folder 'system' -> 'app'.There u'll see some .apk files.samsung had many useless apps included in the stock rom, and i remove some of them to make the rom fast. but if you want them back, open the 'System apps.zip' file (link given below), and simple copy the ones you want back from that folder to the 'System' -> 'App' folder in your extracted rom files.
Now, for example, lets say, u don't like the Default samsung 'Music Player' and u use some other player from market. now, that default player is just a waste for you, cuz u don't need it and it's consuming precious space, so u can delete the "musicplayer.apk" file in 'System' -> 'app' folder in your extracted rom, so that it wont install.
After that, go back to the extracted rom files folder, and select all the five folders- data, meta-inf,script,system,updates. and right click-> send to -> compressed(zipped)folder. You'll get a new zip file, rename it to "Romv2.0", now when you flash it,,,, u'll have all the apps u wanted to (the ones you put in 'app' folder in system folder of your rom).So u can chose which apps you want and which not.
If u wanna know which .apk file corresponds to what app, search around on xda, or ask me....
Do not try to delete just any random apk from 'System' -> 'App' folder, as it might be some vital system app. Do it only for the ones you are sure about. ask me if any further queries.
STEP C:
Flashing the rom-
Copy the "Romv2.0.zip" to your phone (internal sd card {16GB}, not external)
Go to "recovery mode" as follows-
Turn phone off.
Hold Volume Up.
Now hold Home.(while still pressing the vol down key)
Now hold Power.(while still pressing both the previous keys)
Wait until you see samsung logo.
Release Power. (still holding onto others).
Wait until you see the Recovery screen.
Release other buttons.
In recovery mode, use volume keys to go Up or Down, and Power key to Select something.
Select 'Install zip from SD card'
Browse to "Romv2.0.zip" and select it.
Let the process finish.
And voila, you are done.!!!
LINKS-
CWM recovery.zip
System apps.zip
Roms
( v2.0 is available in two versions- Wipe and Non-Wipe. )
please give it a try,, hope u'll like it.
All suggestions / requests / queries are welcome.

Could you post some ScreenShots please?

Looks exciting... Please post some screenshots
is spellchecker in this rom as it looks like you need it ?
@Ritesh, there are a lot of typos in your OP. Hope you find time to correct them. I can help you if you want.
PS : When you type in English, think English. BTW, I have given this thread a 5-star rating.
hm,hm....
Well,, I'm not very comfortable with laptop keyboard and my external keyboard was not working, so...
But I'll correct them soon enough.

I am already using your ROM since yesterday night & its really good. Yea, the All Circle notification idea looks good in your ROM.
Ritesh, I think you need to expand your Title to reflect the Base, the Modem, & the CSC. You need to make your thread more clear in the Title that this is the BEST ROM available for Indian user.
PS : I have some issues with your ROM. Sometimes randomly & at times when I start the phone, the graphics get corrupted & turn to a hue of green where you can't know what's what. Is this an issue with the theme? I have been using other ROMs & have never faced this problem.
thanx for the initiation !!
@ragin
i know what u're talking about, that issue is not with theme, it was never there till i was using other kernels, then i changed back to darkcore 2.9 and this problem was gone, check the first post, i've mentioned it there in the end, will upload the rom with new kernel and update the link soon.
apparently, galaxian v1.1 kernel doesn't likes the voodoo color fix too much.
the green color at startup is normal, its there till voodoo color fix initiates, just like u have 'media scanning' going on at startup, its normal.
but if u mess with voodoo control settings too much, it starts happening at random times too.
Guys, version 1.2 is out now...... you might wanna check it out.

I didn't test your roms yet, but, based on quick look on roms (both version), i've noticed you removed semc setup wizard. Try installing it in v1.2 (as system app), and finish setup guide (sounds logical, because home button is disabled when phone booted for first time, and after setup guide it's enabled)

Requirement:-
1.Custom REcovery (very imp)
2.make nandroid backup before doing anything
3.xposed framework.apk
4. li'l bit common knowledge
5.modules
In this thread, I'm presenting a framework which gives you the possibility to modify your ROM - without modifying any APK (developers) or flashing (users)!
Quote:
Quick guide what kind of posts is allowed in this thread and what is not allowed.
If you don't follow the rules, you might get notified (sometimes friendly, sometimes angrily) that you're doing it wrong, but your post might as well be ignored.
NO posts without reading at least the first two posts and searching the thread => I and other people have spent hundreds of hours developing and supporting Xposed, we expect at least this much of respect
NO support for any modules here => use the module's forum instead, don't even try to post here
NO questions whether there is a module for XYZ exists => check the builtin repository and this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2327541
NO requests for new modules => check this thread if it has been requested before, otherwise ask nicely there: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2327541
NO, you don't get any support via PM either => for the points above, do as pointed out, for allowed things always post in this thread (unless you want to share logs with sensitive data)
YES, you can report bugs for the framework => make sure that you followed the instructions and can reproduce it without any active modules
YES, you can get support if you have issues with the Xposed Installer (e.g. you can't install the framework) => make sure you read the instructions and searched in the thread for similar problems
YES, I will support module developers with specific questions (e.g. how to hook a certain method) => you must have read the development tutorial and give as much context as needed to make it easy for me or others to answer (code always helps!)
YES, you can suggest new features for the API (as a module developer) or the Xposed Installer here => again, no requests about modules
For a quick start, have a look at XDA's "Android Basics 101" on Xposed: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uRR0Flqx9M8
Some technical details:
I extended the /system/bin/app_process executable to load a JAR file on startup. The classes of this file will sit in every process (including the one for system services) and can act with their powers. And even more: I have implemented something that allows developers to replace any method in any class (may it be in the framework, systemui or a custom app). This makes Xposed very powerful. You can change parameters for the method call, modify the return value or skip the call to the method completely - it's all up to you! Also replacing or adding resources is easy.
Advantages:
No need to modify any APKs. This means:
No need to decompile, change things in smali, compile, sign, ...
It will work for odexed and deodexed ROMs.
Your mod is not bound to a specific version of the ROM. Unless there is a major change in the methods called for a certain functionality, your mod will continue to work even when you upgrade your ROM. Hell, it will probably even work with different ROMs.
Multiple mods can be installed at the same time, even if they change the same package. So you can use these battery icons and those quick toggles. Even hooking the same method twice is possible. Of course, this only works properly if the mods are not trying to do incompatible things.
It does its magic at runtime. That means you can implement options to let the user decide if they prefer the bikeshed to be painted in red or blue. Or you can have some extra logic for certain ROMs without building different mod versions.
It can be disabled easily without having to reflash.
It's open source.
Download:
You can download the installer from http://dl.xposed.info/latest.apk. The attached disabler zip is only needed if you are in a boot loop.
An experimental version for Gingerbread made by liudongmiao can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...4#post44034334 (no support from my side though)
How to install:
First step for everything you do: Create a nandroid backup and make sure you know how to restore it!
I'm not responsible for anything you do with your phone/tablet/rice cooker.
There is also the risk to soft-brick your device. In such a case, restoring a backup is the easiest way to get rid of it (other possibilities mentioned below).
For the framework:
Download the Xposed Installer APK and install it
Launch the Xposed Installer, go to the "Framework" section and click on "Install/Update"
In case you get a Segmentation Fault error, please install this additional app (not needed if the installation worked fine).
Reboot
Done!
You can verify this by starting the Xposed Installer again. If app_process jumped back to an older version (or none at all), you probably have a ROM with S-On or similar, which reverts any changes to /system after a reboot. Use installation via recovery in such cases.
For any modules you want to install:
Download <module>.apk and install it
Launch the Xposed Installer and go to the "Modules" section (you will also get there if you click on the notification warning you that the module is not enabled yet)
Enable the module by checking the checkbox
Reboot
Done!
(note that you can install the framework and enable/disable multiple modules at once and reboot afterwards)
In case you get into a boot loop:
First, try using the safemode by pressing any hardware key repeatedly. You can find a short explanation how it works here.
If that doesn't work, you can flash the attached Xposed-Disabler-Recovery.zip by Tungstwenty. It will be copied to your (external) SD card when you install Xposed as well. The only thing it does is copying /system/bin/app_process.orig back to /system/bin/app_process, which you can also do yourself (e.g. with adb shell in recovery mode).
Modules:
The official repository for Xposed modules, which can also be access from within the app itself (with download/update support), can be found at http://repo.xposed.info
You can also have a look at this index: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2327541
Please don't use this thread for problems with modules! Use the thread of the module instead.
How to write a module:
If you are an interested developer, give it a try. The development tutorial will help you get started. Further documentation (e.g. how to replace resources) is here. And of course, you can ask your development questions in this thread.
If you have suggestions for new functions the framework could provide (which means they should be useful for more than your module), you can do this here as well. However, requests that I or somewhen else should write a module for xyz are NOT allowed here. Again, this thread is only about the framework.

build.prop
and adding
Code:
qemu.hw.mainkeys=0
. When I do that and reboot, I get a black bar at the bottom of the screens in most of my apps with no buttons on it. I assume this is the on-screen nav bar, but for some reason, all the buttons (Home, back, app select) are missing. I know on my phone where I run Cyanogen, you can customize which buttons show up. I was wondering if this was configurable somewhere and if, in Samsung's stock rom, they disable all of them? Or is it something else entirely?
What am I missing?
If you have xposed there is a great app called Ultimate Dynamic Navbar 23.2 that will allow you to have the navbar in portrait or landscape.
To disable the hard keys you need to edit Generic.kl in system/usr/keylayout

xposed says the framework isn't supported on my architecture. Surely this has to just be a setting somewhere in the stock rom?

Wrong framework, you need Arter97 builds and a deodexed rom.

Yea, I don't want to do that. I have the stock rom setup the way I want. I really don't want to wipe it. Surely there must be a way to get the on screen buttons working on the stock rom?

[MODv3] [NMF26V] NavBar Tuner, Additional QS Tile Rows, NavBar DPI - TWRP Flashable

**I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR DAMAGES TO YOUR DEVICE. PROCEED AT YOUR OWN RISK**
**UPDATE v3 2017.01.04**
I've updated the mod to NMF26V. NMF26V increased the size of the NavBar to a ridiculous 48dpi, so I've had to add mod intermediate steps. I've also added 0dpi/0dpi, as some people have requested this. So far, I've tested each version and it has worked, but if you find an issue, let me know and I'll fix it. You can always return to stock.
The mods that can be applied are:
NavBar/StatusBar dpi
0dpi/0dpi
0dpi/20dpi
0dpi/24dpi
32dpi/24dpi
32dpi/20dpi
36dpi/24dpi
36dpi/20dpi
40dpi/24dpi
40dpi/20dpi
44dpi/24dpi
44dpi/20dpi
48dpi/20dpi
SystemUI Mods
NavBarUI Manager + Brightness
NavBarUI Manager + Brightness + 4 QS Tiles
NavBarUI Manager + Brightness + 4 QS Tiles + Battery Mod
Download here Stranula_Full_Flash_v3
**/UPDATE**
**UPDATE**
I've now used Aroma to make a TWRP flashable zip making this much easier to install.
Now in order to install, simply download the Stranula.Full.Flash.v2.zip reboot to TWRP recovery, install the zip, and select which mods you want. You can only select one SystemUIGoogle.apk and one framework-res.apk to install. I've also now included the stock apks, so you can easily revert back.
Download Stranula.Full.Flash.v2.zip
**/Update**
Coming from Galaxy devices, I got used to the "Back" button on the right and the "Recents" button on the left of the device, and have been trying to figure out a way to do this on the Pixel.
After looking at [MOD] - WETA UI Mods - [3MinitBattery][NavTuner][centerclock][navbarheight], I knew this had the answer, but I couldn't get it to work on NMF26Q, so after a bit of googling, I found this [MOD][GUIDE] Enable Navbar Tuner for Nougat [7.0] which gave me what I needed to make the mod myself. Finally, thanks to help from fritzgerald I also now know how to add the full battery % in the status bar instead of the battery icon (more details here [GUIDE] Add Battery % to Statusbar ! [Updated Stock 2.3+, CM9/10/10.1 etc -28.9.14])
I made 3 versions, and unless someone suggests a change that I would personally use, I do not intend to make any other changes, or respond to requests.
SystemUIGoogle-NavBar+Brightness.apk has the modifcation to add NavBar Tuner to the SystemUI Tuner as well as the option to remove the brightness slider from the dropdown.
SystemUIGoogle-NavBar+Brightness+4Tile.apk has the same, but additionally, when the full QS is pulled down, it will display 4 columns instead of 3.
SystemUIGoogle-NavBar+Brightness+4Tile+BatteryMod.apk has the same, but additionally has the battery % in the statusbar.

I've gone ahead and made a 0dpi, 32dpi, 36dpi, and 40dpi version. The 0dpi will leave you with no NavBar, so make sure you already have another option installed.
If this helps you, please say thanks!

That's great. Which apk, and what code, do you edit for the battery mod?
**UPDATE**
After comparing our files, I figured out how you did it, then subsequently found where you got the mod from. I'm glad to finally have the battery mod.

It's an old mod, I just pulled it in to this framework. Haven't really modded since my SGS2 but figured I'd start it up again. Feel free to shoot a PM if you ever get stuck and want a second set of eyes.
I've updated this mod with a TWRP flashable zip file containing all of the mods in one. I don't have any testers, so I've only tested it myself, and so far everything is working.
If you happen to use these mods, and the installer, please let me know if everything works, or if you experience any problems.

Any way to have this but have the QS tiles at 4 and no battery percent?

just installed and working great! i got so used to the back button being on the other side, took some time to get used to it on the new phone, but now I realize I'm going to have to re-learn the buttons again since i'm finally used to them!
Thank you for this! Now if someone can just get a slide finger over status bar for brightness and volume keys for change track going i'll be all set!!!

Great, thanks for letting me know. I also want the brightness adjuster, I will start looking into that now.
I'll also look for the volume key thing, but uncertain if I'll find that one.

Any chance one of the options for adding a button to the nav bar could be "take a screenshot"?

I'm really only proficient enough to implement changes other people have done the work to figure out. I was a bit more involved a couple of years ago, and this is my first jump into modding Nougat, so I'm still trying to refamiliarize myself. That being said, if you can point me to guides for Mods of interest, I can try to implement them.
Will this also work on NMF26O?

I haven't tried. My #1 recommendation is to update then install. However, if that was what you wanted to do, you wouldn't have asked.
So, my #2 recommendation is to go into TWRP, mount system, open file manager, rename /system/system/framework/framework-res.apk to framework-res.apk.bkk and /system/system/priv-app/SystemUIGoogle/SystemUIGoogle.apk to SystemUIGoogle.apk.bkk.
Now you've backed up your original files. Install my mods and reboot. If they work, awesome, let us know. If they do not, boot back into TWRP and restore your original files, then come back here and let us know.

I don't know what you mean.
If you don't want the navbar tweak, don't install the framework-res.apk.
The framework-res has the navbar dpi edits. The systemuigoogle has the other edits.
