Huawei Ascend G300 U8818 - NFC Hacking

Anyone knows if chinese version of Huawei G300 also known as U8818 (the european model is U8815) have NFC inside ? Thanks in advance.

Yes the chinese version has nfc and a lower power battery. Also, some people have flashed the chinese roms on the european version with success.

Can you give the link where it says that the U8818 have NFC? I even sent an email to Huawei itself, they didn't know it for sure...how weird... Thanks

I'm using the Chinese g300. It does have a process(apk file) called NFC.apk. but never found any NFC hardware inside. so give up it for you will only get one more apk.

i want to flash u8815's rom for u8818, it's possible?

yes,its possible.several people including me have tried it and it works.afaik, the only difference is the nfc and smaller battery on the U8818. as with all flashing of roms though, nothing is guaranteed.do a cwm nandroid backup of your existing rom first.
also, some roms from huawei such as B888 using the dload/update.app method changes the bootloader and the partition table, and so far there is no way to go back to earlier roms. check out modaco forum on the g300 for more info.

Have a read of this thread, it should clear up any confusion:

I bought U8815 yeasterday from Vodafone CZ. I read a posts about 1500mAh in european model, or maybe only in some of the european model (only Vodafone's devices on our market), but I can't tell for sure.
What I can tell for sure, that my U8815 from Vodafone has the 1500mAh battery and don't have NFC, BUT there is a strange antena connector exposed under the back cover, so it looks like it is only not in FW and NFC demands different back cover with NFC antena.

Perhaps that it is the connector, where the 8818 battery connect the NFC receptor it is built in his battery...

I am not sure about it, because user can easily damage pigtail high-freq connector. Maybe I am wrong and this connector is only test point.

The chinese version U8818 surely has no NFC, but the UK version U8815 maybe has.

Dear all,
I upgraded mu G300 from GB to ICS with the upgrade file i downloaded from Huawei site. Before the upgrade, i did a back up of my phone in AllBackup coming along with huawei phone in SD card. After the Upgrade, the backup file is found as a .zip and inside it all the files are in .db format. I m unable to restore the contacts, sms, and other stuff after the upgrade. Triied reinstalling AllBackup, but it shows "Äpplication not installed". Please help me to restore my phone contacts and sms from .db file.

Only the Chinese model U8818 and the Spanish Vodaphone model U8815N have NFC. The regular U8815 doesn't have it.

That's not exactly helpful advice. However, there is little else you can do. The korean version differs hardware wise from the european/asian version so the european firmwares won't work for you (likely they will never work).
So even though it may be mean, there is unfortunately little else you can do if you want to get rid of the korean firmware.

That totally sucks. I wish I could flash my European gt-i9000 to the Korean version so I could take advantage of the native "record call" function.
How different are these two phones hardware wise? Is there really no way to force install the firmware?

O.K. I found the answer to my own question.
Hardware-wise the Korean Galaxy S isn't much different from the European one. These are the only differences I could find:
Korean:
Digital Media Broadcast: T-DMB digital tuner Pull-out antenna
Analog Radio: Not supported
European:
Digital Media Broadcast: Not supported
Analog Radio: FM radio (87.5-108MHz) with RDS radio reciever Proprietary headset as antenna
I really hope that sooner or later a genius will create some kind of hack to make such a firmware flash work

[Q] Third party charger in a brand new HTC One X box? Is that normal?

Title says it all.
I've purchased the device about a week ago and I noticed it just now(after searching the web about the scrolling issue, which apparently caused by using a 3rd party charger).
Did someone else encounter this? Is that normal? If not, What should I do?
No it isn't. May of been imported from China (Hong Kong) for cheap, and sold to you and many others. Just google 'eCell', the fraudulent company selling on Ebay. Anyway, as they use different plugs they either give you no charge or one like you have. Any Chinese writing anywhere?
Okay I did some more Google research apparently a lot of retailers here(Israel) put a samsung charger for some reason.

All over the box and on some of the stuff inside. I didn't think it's strange because HTC is a Chinese company after all.

If it's all over the box, i think you've been had. Call HTC customer services, give them the imei and they'll tell you where it's from. Alternatively check your cid. Is it htc__622? Get cid checker from the store.
http://play.google.com/store/search?q=pname:org.tritonsoft.cidgetter
Install and check what ro.cid is.
@Op,
In the xda hox general section everything is possible.

It's a Taiwanese company, so the Chinese writing didn't come off as weird to me.
Anyway switching the HOX chargers seems like a common practice here. The only place that sells original HTC chargers is the official importer. I think I'll just buy it from them.
So in your country it's normal, 'your own question answered'. Well done!

Hong Kong has "British socket" and electronics are not much if any cheaper here. They're cheap in Shenzhen.
If you want to purchase on ebay, I recommend rose528400, as that is where I purchased my phone from. As far as I know, the phone is near flawless. Now that I checked it, the international version has become surprisingly cheap. Not trying to advertise here, thanks.

That is wrong. The touch screen bug is caused by a dirty power connection. My house power connection would work fine and the touch screen works very well but at my work (which is a very old building) I have tons of touch screen bugs because of the dirty power connection.

afaik its not the charger that filters, should be the phone (i base this on the fact my dhd doesn't have problems with both htc chargers), whereas the hox has problems with both .
after repair (and update to 2.17), the problem went away, but since i flashed viperx and faux kernel, the bloody problem came back! it hardly does it with my original charger, but really bad with the dhd charger (both original htc ones)

[Q] Dual Sim S4 Mini ....... Hidden Features?

I have the i9192 model and was wondering if some of the features that are different from the other S4 mini models are present in the hardware but missing due to software.
For example NFC.
Can some of these be hidden to be turned on later officially or unofficially with software modifications?

Concerning NFC there's no NFC antenna so I guess you can forget (I don't really understand NFC is usefull for but anyway)
4G will not happen in case because of the hardware also and except things like smart rotation or other feature in the galaxy s4 (full software) I don't really see any thing they would have hide.
What they did in fact is hidding the knox capabilities and it avoid warranty when you want to do anything else than upgrading to new version .
I thought that the NFC antenna is normally in the battery.
I though it was in the back cover I guess it depend of the version.
And it seems to be written on the battery when oinside the batterie.
And it does not look to be one :/
Anyway what's NFC usefull for ?

Well my question was what NFC usefull for, now you phrase it, it does sound like (in my hears) as completly useless
But I guess there is still some fun features to use with that.

Zenfone 2 ZE551ML help

Hello there.
I'm about to receive one of these from Gearbest, and from what I've read, it's likely that it will come with WW software but the device itself it's the CN version.
I already have bookmarked the tutorial to flash everything to WW, but my doubt is, what about LTE bands? Is it really possible to unlock all bands? How?
Is there anything anyone can recommend for this device regarding roms and mods?
Thank you in advance.
I know that the question may be a little noob-ish, or even a bit stupid (I don't know), but please, can anyone help?
its seems that nobody have this phone. Im going to buy one in aliexpress, it looks like a great phone but, without suport.
When and if you two get these phones and depending on what they are which you dont know at the minute, there is a forum for ze551ml which covers everything from bricked devices to changing LCDs

No need to be ironic man, I have my fair share of XDA experience, I just never came across a region-specific device that inspite having the same hardware worldwide, doesn't have all network frequencies available on every baseband... What I asked basically was, is it really possible to have all LTE bands available on a CN device, and secondly, based on users experience here, is there any rom, kernel or mod that you can recommend...

Mine is from Gearbest, it's not a fake, but the problem is... They only sell the CN version of the Zenfone, and what they do to sell it to Euro users is flash the WW version of the firmware but they don't convert the device fully. Anyway, for 123 euros is still not a bad deal, considering its the 4gb ram version.
Thanks for your help

Actually the NFC only deploy on the Global version. Even you have a Global ver, that is not available in China.

Thanks for the info. To make it clear, if you bought CN with 165w there is no NFC. If you change version to global can you have that function of NFC? Also do I have some benefits switching to eu or global version?
Thanks for all the info @CrazyMoney
On the screenshot I found that file on system apps, but can't find any other app or something install to enable nfc
