the update will start rolling out as of today. So if you are using official update method you will get the update once your SI is added to the list here:
http://talk.sonymobile.com/thread/42096
once the first updates start rolling out im sure it will be posted on here quite quickly and you will be able to update using the FlashTool regardless of your SI.

You can get some more official info here... Excited!!!

The update for the 2011 devices wiped all data.
This is usually the case for updates that upgrade the Android Version.
Database changes make the old data unusable in most case scenarios.

[Definitive] HTC's upcoming Froyo Update

Hi all,
We all know this update is coming, but there's a lot of information floating around different threads and different sites, so I figured it'd be good to put it all in one thread for everyone's sake, particularly so we have a nice collated load of information on the update and to try and alleviate the dev threads from people asking about the update (so we don't have threads going wildly off topic, as seen here.
Anyhoo, off we go -
Froyo
HTC's next big update will be based on Froyo, or Android 2.2. Froyo has quite a few nice changes and updates to it, all of which should see its way into the HTC Update in some way. The most exciting features are:
Just-In-Time Compiler (faster applications, less battery usage)
Faster Browser (thanks to Chrome's V8 Javascript Engine)
Updated Marketplace (apps can now update automatically and there's an "update all" button)
Wifi Tethering (use your phone as a portable wireless hotspot!)
Flash 10.1 support (FULL support, not just videos!)
However there's much more, see the Wiki entry for 2.2 for a more detailed list.
HTC additions
The features of Froyo aren't the only extras coming with the future update. HTC appear to have built some nice new widgets, updated the keyboard, added a new app or two (such as the flashlight app) and, as you've probably already heard, added 720p recording support!
Screenies
Here are a bunch of screenshots, mostly thanks to ninja.rogue and definitely thanks to uDK and co, who may or may not be releasing a ROM with all these goodies in it, soon. But that talk is for a different thread!
Wireless Hotspot

720p recording
Updated Keyboard
Other bits
Videos
EARLY version of the Rom in action
720p video recording tests
Other Information
ETA of the official update is "Some time before Christmas", with a report or two saying to expect it around the End of August. Of course, this is XDA and you can expect a pre-released version to find its way into chef's hands "soon".
Remember, everything you read here is NOT the be-all and end-all. There's always a chance that when the update finally hits, it'll be missing 720p support or your carrier will block the Wireless hotspot function. Nothing is final, but at least we have an idea of what to expect =)
And last, but not least, if you've got some guts, you might want to try this very early leaked version of the Rom, courtesy of udK and co: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=720294
P.S. I'm sure I've missed lots of information, but if anyone finds out anything else, please let me know and I'll update this post.
To the mods - I know a thread discussing the leaked ROM was locked because it went wildly off topic, but I'm not trying to continue that thread, rather I'm trying to separate the discussions about what's in store for the next update from the discussions of people asking when the leaked ROM is going to er...leak.
I have nothing to add, but good work in compiling actual information into a thread, rather than rumour and hearsay
never seen those vids before, 720p looks goooood
Thank You!

Froyo is looking all good! I must have it in my life!
With the official HTC update, will we need to start with a fresh install? Or will it upgrade the system and leave all the existing apps, settings intact?
Sense has the option to backup settings to the SD card, and Android 2.0+ will reinstall apps automatically, so we should be fine.

6.2.B.1.96 RELEASED for NORDIC regions!

According to leaker,
-1080p is fixed
-White Balance setting present
-2G fixed with new baseband
-Long press to go to Google Now

Sometimes people who know something cannot provide any form of evidence to protect people who leak that knowledge (like Sony or carrier employees). I could sense that this guy was not lying or trolling us. There is a new hope ahead

Sony SmartWatch 2 - Weather app won't update automatically

In fact there is a solution. Installing the ap smartweather for smartwatch, which is much better than the official one.
You can find it in Google play, although it's a paid app but it deserve the price.

No, that's not a sollution.
Sony MUST fix this ASAP!
Maybe the app works only on 4.4.4 devices. Can someone confirm that?

Of course they should fix this bug, but I hope they make the ap even better, because I demanded a long time ago to have manual update by long tap on the watch and it never came true. However I have this wanted feature in the ap I suggested before. You can try it in the meanwhile, maybe you'll like it [emoji4]

My solution
I looked for the app in APTOIDE store, and downgraded it to the earlier version. Now it's working perfectly.
Could you please share the apk? Thank you!
That would be nice... The previous version worked just fine.
Sony's silence is a shame... I sent them an email and put a 1-star comment on the app, no reply, not even an acknowledgement.
If they don't know how to fix it, they could at least have reverted back to previous version.
As a retaliation, I just rated all of Sony's SW2 related app 1 star on the Play Store, and I invite all angry customers like me to do the same.
that needs to be fixed asap...
Well, over 3 weeks passed since I've submited a shameful review on Play Store, about Sony's Smart Weather App, and STILL NOTHING!
Sony, where are you?
sorry, don't know how to share the .apk
you can download aptoide, it's very easy!
then search for the app and click on "versions", then download.

Hi guys,
Can someone guide me to a "clean" 1.0.15 version as all files I find ask for strange authorizations (SMS, Calling, etc.).
When I download the Aptoide version I get a 7+ MB file for an app that shouldn't weight more than some 320~ kb. I didn't install any of these as I don't trust them.
Your help would be appreciated... :highfive:

Thanks. I just found the thread with the revert instruction.
As I'm on AT&T I updated and really have nothing good to report
Have had poor battery life and random freeze and reboots since

Running On New Deadly Venom Note 4 v1.2
First thing I tried
It was a pain over an hour to set everything back up
I will add after factory reset it said SD ext was damaged
Fixes that by copying everything to laptop format card and copy back to card

Flashed the Customized RU version (non-wipe) this morning. Works great, only thing i noticed is that the animation is heavier.
Any changes to volte? How's the 120 frames for cinema pro?
Waiting for US or HK (current firmware)
Still waiting in Europe

Might be a stupid question, but can you share what you used to flash it? I have an AT52, and no OTA, Xperia companion also says no update, and I never seem to have much luck with the various flash tools floating around the forums lol.

This guide works like a charm, just read the full topic and you are fine.
Thanks! It worked. I do notice that all app icons on the home screens are square now. Interesting. Time to play around with it.
No 120FPS option in 4k in Cinema Pro unfortunately? I thought they stated this was added for our 1ii. Bummer.
Edit: Just found it. Turns out I am dumb lol. It is there!
One more thing I just realized: Even after several restarts, the recent app button (on the 3 button navigation bar on the bottom), does not seem to work at all.
Did it bring any screen refresh rates above 60hz? There was speculation it would although at a lower screen resolution.
Update just arrived for me
I'm unlocked UK version

That's too bad. Sony's communication about this type of thing is pretty poor
So far so good, nice update
i got it today!
but im depressed...
I like the 4k @120FPs... but i would like to see a Focusbracketing function in the PhotoProApp, and a software button for the shutter.
I got the update today (located in Germany and all stock). So far, I haven't noticed any changes. Do we have a comprehensive change log somewhere?

Hi, me too. But I have an issue with my WiFi connection. I use a FritzBox 7590 with WPA2 + 3. With Android 10 it worked flawlessly with the new security setting but with today's update I can't use WPA3 anymore.
Does anyone have the same issue?
Cheers

I have no problems connecting with wpa2 + wpa3 to my Fritz Box. I'm running the latest firmware on the Fritz Box.
