SGP Ultra Nano Clear screen protector - Galaxy S III Accessories

Hi guys.
I just noticed this on SGP's website:
http://www.spigen.com/cell-phone/samsung/galaxy-s3/samsung-galaxy-s3-screen-protector-steinheil-ultra-nano-clear.html
I know someone brought this up in some other thread, but I thought I should open one just for it.
It sure seems interesting.
Does anyone already have it?

Ultra Crystal is discontinued, so what happens with the customers that bought and received it ?
I just ordered the Ultra Crystal from their ebay store, and the item already dispatched

I received mine from their Ebay store. I emailed them about it yesterday; i will report back with what they say.
Sent from my MB860 using XDA

I originally ordered the Ultra Oleophobic, which they decided not to make and so I changed to the Ultra Crystal. Now Ultra Crystal is no longer available and theres a Ultra Nano with Oleophobic coating??? I still haven't received any dispatch notices and I've ordered these at the start of June.

lol looks like SGP needs to get their stuff together

Not happy either.

I ordered the Oleophobic but after they told me they cancelled those I changed to the Ultra Optics. Here's what I got from SGP a little while ago.
Thank you so much for your recent purchase! Unfortunately, I must inform you that the Samsung Galaxy S3 Steinheil Ultra Optics Screen Protector that you ordered has been discontinued at the moment. After much testing, we have made the decision to omit the Steinheil Ultra Crystal, Ultra Optics, Ultra Oleophobic, and the Ultra Fine Screen Protectors from Galaxy S3 product list to ensure only the best quality screen protectors for all our products. However, we will be receiving shipments of the newly upgraded screen protector for the Samsung Galaxy S3 called the Steinheil Ultra Nano Series. It is almost the same as the Ultra Crystal, but much thinner. As soon as we receive that shipment on Monday, we will be able to send out your package with the new upgraded screen protector if you wish to receive this instead. Of course, we will upgrading shipping for expedited shipping. However, if you wish to cancel your order instead, please let me know and I will be able to cancel your order as well.
Once again, we sincerely apologize and we truly appreciate your patience.
If you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to contact us again.

was oleophobic online? I wanted to order one, but there was only ultra crystal. But, I also see ultra nano optics on the page. i guess they just change the names of product.

Originally they had Ultra Oleophobics, Optics, Clear and ultra fine. Then they cancelled Oleophobic because it was affecting the screen quality. Then they also cancelled the optics and it looks like they've changed the names of the other 2 or created the Ultra Nano Clear and Nano Optics which seem to be thinner. To be honest i'm completely confused now and don't really know what i'm going to be getting lol

I wouldn't expect the seller to do anything. I'm not even going to bother contacting Cretouch. SGP should replace the obsolete product as they are the ones who deemed the product inferior.

Well it is the SGP official USA retailer I bought from. So I assume they work together to fix any issues? (Hopefully send me a new one since I havent used it yet)
But I have seen another user on xda with the Ultra Clear that posted photos and his has no issues adhering to the edges, but then some people recently had issues with theirs. I'm wondering if it was just a recent bad batch.

I was confused too, so I read the description closely. I think the red part makes more clear to understand.
SPIGEN SGP Samsung Galaxy S3 Screen Protector Steinheil Ultra Nano Clear
SPIGEN SGP Steinheilā„¢ Ultra Screen Protector Film is a high quality film with a hard surface. It protects the LCD screen from scratches and features an advanced optical enhancement layer that improves viewing on LCD screens. The Nano Clear is created to work with the curved screen of the Galaxy S3. The Nano Clear is thinner and more flexible to adhere to the screen of the S3. It is also cut smaller than the screen to prevent any bubbles and lifting from the edges of the screen protector.

I think it's same thing with previous ultra series but thinner. I guess basically ultra nano is thin oleophobic, no??

I think so. The website drop down menu now shows Ultra Nano Clear and Nano Optics so maybe they will update further and have two versions. One I imagine will be Ultra Crystal but thinner and one maybe Ultra Optics but thinner?

I wonder if this new one covers the entire screen or still just part of.

For anyone who already received their Ultra Clear protector, this is the response I receieved from Spigen when asking about exchanging the now-discontinued product:
Hi, my name is Diana from Spigen.com.
There is no need for you to return the product back to us. We will gladly send you an upgraded product without the hassle of going through an exchange. Keep the Ultra Crystal as a gift and we will instead be sending you an Ultra Nano to the same shipping address on your original order. We will be receiving shipments for the Ultra Nano early next week. As soon as we receive shipments for this product, we will be able to ship out a package to you.
If you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to contact us again.

Anyone looking for a Steinheil Ultra Crystal Screen Protector?

If anyone is looking for a Steinheil Ultra Crystal Screen Protector, I have an extra pack (2 of them), unopened and in original packaging. SGP messed my order up on accident so they sent me an extra one out. PM me if you are interested, I have no need for it!

Gotta say at $13 I thought these were the scam of the century, but I had heard others say they liked them so i gave it a go. WOW. I will never use another brand screen protector again! Very thin, scratch resistant, you literally can not till I'm using one-- and i've asked many people. A+ in my book.
They are the best screen protector money can buy, no questions! I have used them on 2 phones now and you can't even tell anything is on the screen. They don't yellow and they don't hinder your view.
Anyhow, I have not heard back from the first guy as far as payment is concerned... so if anyone else is interested please PM me - If I don't receive payment from the first guy by tonight then I will take the next PM in my list.
I am asking $13.00 shipped. That saves you about $4 and some change after shipping, etc...

Screen Protectors - The good and the not so good

If you have purchased Screen Protectors off Ebay (or anywhere), post a link, a pic, and whether you like them or not.
I bought:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280665594632
-They are ok, I've had better.
-They have the three step approach (take 1 cover off, stick it down, take 2nd cover off.)
-The holes for speaker and sensor don't line up properly. I'll take a pic at some point
After a few hours use I can safely say the above screen protectors are terrible. you just have to run your fingernail across them and they scratch. I will be asking for a refund for sure.
The Savvies Screen protectors (ebay - 180660459805) are also terrible. The cuts for the home button, speaker and front camera dont match up.
i go one of these http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/6-x-LCD-SCREEN-PROTECTOR-SAMSUNG-I9100-GALAXY-S-II-/270726135062?pt=UK_MobilePhones_MobilePhonesCasesPouches&hash=item3f0888fd16
Seems pritty good apart from the camera hole is slightly off. Waxed it as well as it wasnt very slippy. No scratches and you can hardly tell its there apart from the 1 bubble
Stay away from the savvy one. It's a ****ty screen protector ! does not fit at all !
The Vikuiti ones (both the ADQC27 & DQC160) ordered from DISAGU via Amazon, do not fit properly I'm afraid.
The ones I purchased were just a fraction too long and so would have to overlap the bezel slightly, which would be unsightly (air pocket) and not make for a particularly secure fit.
Here's hoping SGP decide to make their Oleophobic ones for the i9100...

Got the same and can confirm the front camera hole is off but seems to be fine for a cheap protector until something better comes out.

anyone tried the xtremeguard screen protectors? Ive got one coming hopefully soon.
I have a Brando Ultra Clear here, but still waiting for my phone
Looks like the holes are in the proper place do, but can't judge exactly.
I bought this:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110676862121&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT
bad fit on FFC, means the protector has to be angled to line up with the home button... even if it was straight, theres a good 1-2mm gap around the protector and tbh i don't think i'd bother unless the protector was flush to the end or at least 0.5mm or less gap...
I had a HTC branded protector on my Hero and it was a perfect fit... anyone know if Samsung do the same? or did for the SGS etc??

Fit is usually excellent with the SGP ones and then inclusion of a Camera lens protector is a nice addition.
However the Oleophobic qualities aren't especially obvious.
Another thing to note though --an email reply from SGP a couple of days ago indicated that they hadn't yet decided whether to offer an SGS2 accessories yet.
Assuming they do, given the popularity of this model, we may be in for a bit of a wait.

Very odd, as I receive the following from the SGPstore a few days ago.
I guess SGP and the SGPstore aren't joined at the hip.
"Thank you for contacting SGPstore.com Customer Service Department.
Hi, my name is Lynn from SGPstore.com.
We are still deciding whether we are going to have products for Samsung Galaxy S II.
Please stay tuned with us and check our website."
ExportPrive are a legit site, in so far as they will send out the goods.
However, I had a bad experience with them a few months ago where they sent me the incorrect leather SGS1 case.
3 months later, despite promises, they still hadn't refunded.
I had to contact my CC provider to claim the funds back in the end.

Video Review: SGP Steinheil Ultra Oleophobic Screenshield

Hey guys,
Got my hands on the SGP Ultra Oleophobic screenshield from SGP, which they make for a variety of different devices. This is an oil resistant screenshield, which unlike the Ultra Optics, does not affect screen quality at all, but isn't as resistant from fingerprints / glare as the Optics. Overall I'm really pleased with the final product, you can find the full review below:
Great review. Currently using Realook and loving it. Put a Steinheil on my wife's BB 9900 while she was sleeping and she didn't even notice until I told her. Might try it one day...

Thanks for the kind words - Steinheil screen shields have been nothing but fantastic and I've tried all their models for about 4 phones.
Can't find this model (Ultra Oleophobic) for the T-989 on their website. only the Ultra-Crystal and Ultra-Fine.

Does the Sprint version fit on the T-989? If not why are you posting this on the T-989 forum? Might cause some confusion.
They have it but probably OOS

That link says nothing about the T989 only the Sprint version. Unless they are interchangeable (if they were I would think the website would say so) they don't exist for the T989. I am referring to the ULTRA OLEOPHOBIC as was reviewed in the OP. They do have the Crystal for the T-989.

Hi there,
Thanks for the support! I said I preferred the Ultra optics, however this model is not made for the T-989 Galaxy S II, sorry.

Another reason why SGP/Spigen is awesome... [screen protector and brand]

I've had great experience with Steinheil screen protectors by SGP in the past.
I ordered the Ultra Crystal for the s3 and just received it. See my attached photos.
Their presentation PLUS customer service touch is awesome.
They even used some sort of birthday wrapping for my package and got a HAND WRITTEN post it note from them.
I have never gotten anything like this from any other companies.
(Yes the package is bent, but thats from the mail - not their fault. Their packaging was actually pretty large and was lined with bubble wrap. I will just leave them under a dictionary for a bit and they will be fine. I wont get the phone until 27th anyway)
Where I bought from - http://www.ebay.ca/itm/SPIGEN-SGP-S...ccessories&hash=item3f17719a53#ht_3939wt_1163
Yeah their products are definitely top notch. Has anyone else pre-ordered an SGP Optics screen protector and heard anything about the dates yet?
I wish that they'll change their mind (workout the problems), and eventually release the Ultra Oleophobic too.
@Wond3r
Can you post a picture of your S3 after you apply the screen protector ?

Have tried some other well known brand including Martin Field,
I would like to say SGP screen protector simply the best on current market.
It's very good on touch sensitivity and sliding smoothness across it.
liamR,
I shared the same wish. Ultra Oleophobic was top on my list for easy to clean the finger prints and the oil.

I actually ordered it off ebay, but it was from the SGP usa seller. So still technically from them.
ya i love SPG product except i don't deal with the own website no more.. i ordered a one x screen protector and been asking for them to send me another one since the original ones were poorly designed and doesn't stick to the curve edge.. told me they sent me another one but don't have tracking numbers for it.. and won't send me another one and said if you want refund u can send as back your original but make sure you ship with tracking or there's no way they'll know they receive it or not... so ya i gave up dealing with their website and ordered my s3 from one of their resellers instead ~~
Love SGP screen protectors. Have they mentioned anything about making an actual glass protector like the glass.t?
I'll be ordering one of their flip cases also. Think they look better than the official flip case, and the Zenus flip cases look gaudy.

Trident Kraken + SGP Curved Crystal, does it work?

Just wondering whether a trident kraken would fit with a sgp curved crystal?
As I live in the UK, both will take some considerate amount of time to arrive here, so to avoid disappointment could someone with the above combination let me know if it will work or not?
Will the screen protector not lift, given that the silicon soft-cover would just sit above the screen protector?

Oh thank you, i cant wait for your reply about the kraken.
I just installed my curved crystal and it works perfectly with this (i got the green one):

Others reported the silicone cover would cause the protector to lift, but it seems to be fine on mine (the install went quite well). Though just to let you guys know, the protector tends to scratch easily, even with a micro fibre cloth. A bit surprising even though I was aware of the 2H hardness rating.
