Received 4300 and 4800 mAh battery - Galaxy S III Accessories

Now I'm testing this battery. Original thread in this forum (spanish) http://www.todoradares.com/foro/bater-4300-mah-samung-galaxy-t22247.html
At the moment I have not done any charge.
After the first full charge and discharge I will upload screenshots from battery reports.
At the moment, usage is 15h and 9 minutes (normal usage) and consumed 46%
Stock ALF2 rom and cf-root.
Of course, nfc is not available
Now pics:

Extended Battery
The battery seems to be quite bulky. How much did u bought it for?

Ebay 12,99 euro
Yeah it's a bit bulky
I'm using a 3600 battery replacement in my old x10 with feralab rom and the battery usage is 5 days powering off phone at night.

wow that's big..

Yes, but believe me. It's more easier to hold the phone now with one hand.
Sorry, I like more a better battery than design.
At the moment. Battery stays at 3% from two hours ago, using opera mobile with H+.
Needs a little calibration

How much will battery life improve over stock battery?

No. As you can see in pictures, this battery is more bigger than original battery and needs a bigger cover.
But only for the rear cover. The battery fits correctly in his place.

Can you post measurements of the battery? (ie depth of battery and depth of phone with battery inserted).
The only reason I ask is because I ordered a 3600mAh version from ebay (thought it might be a bit slimer, for all it's worth... ;-) ) and the pictures used show some measurements.
See this url for an example:
**** sorry - can't post external links yet - not enough posts... ****
Search for "Galaxy s3 3600mah" in ebay and you'll find a few posts - the user I bought from is called "hightechhk-com"
(h**p://***.ebay.co.uk/itm/3600mAh-Extended-Battery-White-Door-Cover-for-Samsung-i9300-Galaxy-S3-III-New-/261045894976?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item3cc78c3f40)
From quick observation they look very similar.
Also, how doea the back cover fit? Doubt it's up to the quality of the original (or is it?)
As soon as mine arrives i'll let you know how they perform.
Cheers

Good stuff. Please do a comparison step by step to the original one, as in exactly the same daily use and turn off at night if you do with both. Its interesting, I wouldn't buy it myself but I always wonder if these batteries are not that well made than original.

Now, I can't. I'm testing it now. After first full charge I will post screenshots from battery stats. It's too early to say anything.
Please, be patient. Thank you.
I know that these batteries are made with a lower quality. But i'm sure that these batteries doesn't break your phone (tested in x10). I've heard something about gold batteries, but this battery is not a gold manufactured battery. It's from another manufacturer.

Good stuff. Let us know how you get on

I'd rather have an extra stock battery. Other option is to plug in at work or in the car, if I need to.

Gold 2450mAh battery from ebay

Just wanted to report in with my experience of these large capacity batteries.
I purchased 2 of them along with a generic external charger and they are far better than the stock ones.
Currently been going for 48 hours and still at 25%. I was struggling to get 12 hours out of the stock battery.
They seem like reasonable quality and for around 10AUD each they are decent value. They fit under the stock cover too which is a bonus.
Anyone else using these?

Thanks for this info ! Would you post some pictures of the battery itself and some of usage stats , please ?
Most likely it is fake. Recently I bought 'gold' battery for my old SE K800 from ebay. Printed capacity on label was almost double than original battery but in fact real capacity was half of original. So, returned to seller and lost shipping costs only.
Unfortunately physics is in full force for batteries: at the moment larger capacity can be achieved only by more or larger sells!!!
I'm actually MORE than happy with original Samsung 2000MAh battery. I would NEVER put a fake or low quality battery close to my face.

Well that confirms all these uprated batteries are in fact rubbish with the exception of the much larger 3500mah one and even that was nowhere near the stated 3500mah rating
The gold batteries from Ebay are all fake. Don't waste your time. Peel off the gold cover, under it, you'll find an under powered rating.this batteries have already been discussed at xda over and over with picture evidences to show they are fake. Go buy a jaguar for 10 bucks and tell me it's real.

I just bought one from ebay too. A gold 2450 mAh battery.
After I received it I put it in the mobile and battery snap from the market tells me the same remaining time as the stock 1650 mAh battery.. Then I peeled off the gold wrapper and underneath I found this inprint "HD504655AR 11K08NF1650".. 1650 ?? Strange coincidence ...
I opend a case with ebay requesting my money back because this looks like a fraud. I'll have to wait several days for it to close, but I will tell you how it ended...
I can only tell you that I should have read the posts here about the "gold" batteries.. Damn fakes!
Ok, so can anyone tell me how to identify a genuine Samsung battery?
My phone came with a battery that looks almost identical to eBay item 110825200405, except that mine says "Finished in Vietnam" and the recycle symbol is a bit different.
The supposedly genuine batteries on eBay (e.g. eBay item 140704498924) look quite different.
I got my phone from Orange/Partner in Israel and I'm wondering if they are using cheap aftermarket batteries to save money. Anyway, I want to buy a spare but I want to make sure that I'm getting my moneys worth for a battery that has the actual marked capacity and that will last.
Thanks.
Glad to trade abt the gold batteries here. I was abt to use a pair for myself
"Gold Batteries"
Bump.
I was about to post a big thing with a battery log that I kept for the first 5 charges of my new "Gold" battery along with how unimpressed I was and that it didnt seem any better than my stock 1250mAh. The new battery was supposedly 2450mAh. after reading the post 2 posts above mine I decided to remove the gold foil to look at the stamps on mine. I see nothing to indicate the mAh capacity on mine but after using it for a month I can say for sure that it is no better than my stock battery. I am not going to file it with ebay or anything but it sure seems like there are a lot of fakes out there. Mine came from Ghuang Dong china or something like that... lol. Anyway I only paid 6.99$ with no shipping and have a functional spare battery now so, oh well. Lesson learned. Figured I'd give my 2 cents.

Oops. Just realixed this is for samsungs. Mine was for HTC Inspire. Probably all the same though... My bad.
my 2 bits worth
Just got the ebay GOLD (haha) battery as well but paid like 4 bux for it - FWIW it seems to hold a charge longer though it charges lightning fast which leads me to believe that it is indeed not 2450mah
After having done a bit of research, mah is a tricky thing to verify - can be done with a multimeter BUT there is a device called a battery-analyzer that does the trick. So these ppl that sell the possibly fraud batteries have tapped a great market: people (mostly) without the gear or know-how to check the quality of the goods!
regardless i needed a second battery so no loss for me. Now if it explodes or something I will report here first and I will not leave my 5star feedback for the "gold battery people" just yet
UPDATE
***so the gold battery performance is incredibly poor - last less and less time with each charge***
I'd advise anyone to absolutely not bother with one of these

the 2000mah is a bit bigger (that is why it needs a new cover plate)
I have an 1800mah (also a bit bigger) but fits nicely in the phone.

In case you haven't seen the anker 2800 mah

Just thought I might post a photo of the Anker 2800 mAh battery and cover which seem to be a good alternative to the rather large 3200-4800 extended batteries.
Since Anker seems to be relatively well regarded, I bought one of these, but nowhere could I find a side view photo to make an intelligent judgement of size.
So here it is for all to see.
Well, isn't this really stupid. I just wanted to post a photo, but new users cannot post outside links. But there seems to be no way to upload a photo for others to see. Sorry folks. Try to cut and paste this then:

I just charged it today and my battery meter reads 1880mAh. However, BMW free seems to be terribly inaccurate on the first try.
I'll let you know what it reads after a few charge/discharge cycles.

I meant compared to those massive 3200mah ones that quadruple the thickness. I'm sorry if I didn't explain myself thoroughly.
but at 1880mah this isnt even an extended battery, they probably just glued two cheap chinese batteries together. just buy the oem replacement instead.

Mystery solved
Thanks for posting my pic OmniAngel.
Looks like the free version of battery monitor widget only shows the estimated power on the quick stats screen. When you dig deeper, you get the REAL measure- That shows at 2664 mAh
OK, I'll buy that.
Battery has been in use all weekend (although partially tethered to my car power outlet when I used the phone as a GPS for 3 hours at a clip, twice) without a regular charge. It's now at 43%. It seems that if you use it as a full-time GPS, there is not much difference in battery life before and after you unplug it, since the phone is using so much power for the constant bright screen and GPS function. The GPS, BTW, works great on the atrix combined with the Google maps app.
I'm not a power user, but last night after coming home I surfed for about an hour on wifi and ejoyed the NASA app pics I downloaded for a bit longer. Also used the phone several times to check email this weekend.
Overall, very happy with the battery. Will let it run down to about 5-10% before charging for a few times to properly condition it.
Also- Neotekz- if you have ever seen the mugen battery (about 3/4" + thick itself, ) mounted on the phone, you'd find this battery rather small in comparison (about 11mm).

I'm really interested in this but I need someone to test it for me if possible. With about average internet use on 3g and about 2 hours worth of calls and some gaming and news reading..right now I can barely get 12 hours out of my battery which is weird :S I am working on that but I would love to have the extra bit of umph!
I have been using the anker batt for abt a week now. Nothing like having enough juice to last a whole day of heavy use. What good is a powerful phone that you can't use because you are afraid of running out ofpower?
When I first charged it up, I was trying to run it all the way down. I was at 1% for three hours with this anker battery!
The battery back cover feels a bit strange and you wont be using fingerprint with this battery but its small price ro pay in my view.

the battery you have in that picture is the exact same one ive had in the past, i never experienced any issues other than after approx 75 charges the battery was down to around 75% capacity, i agree with thewizard you get a much better grip with it on. it could just have been a random faulty battery but it definitely sucks that it screwed the phone up. Ive never come across a perfect solution for upgraded batteries, i went from the above mentioned to the gold 2000 mah battery and to be honest was no better than the original but cost me £10 to find out lol

Either get(or should have gotten) the anker battery or the mugen 3600 battery. When it comes to a £500 device, then spending £10 or £70 is more than suitable.
Have a good day.

thanks for the heads up
and im sorry for your loss

Never buy these cheap battery's..only buy from mugen seido or anker all others are junk and have much less capacity then advertised

My opinion about a 4000 mAh mugen battery

Hello guys, I would like to tell you my opinion about a battery that I had the chance to try. I'm talking about a battery produced by Mugen for Samsung Galaxy Nexus, with a capacity of 4000 mAh (more than double of normal rate).
Usually I'm used to use the smartphone with many apps in the background (WhatsApp, Dropbox, Beautiful widget and many other) and i often run games, especially in down time of the day. Im also linked to a carrier that has only 3G. Before attempting the battery I used to utilize three batteries so i can change eachother when the current one is downloaded.
With the Mugen's 4000 mAh battery i have found no problems to arrive safely at the end of the day, even when I spend hours playing.
In addition, the cover included in the package greatly improves the grip (im serius!).
I've tried it for 5-6 days but if you want to get more details, statistics and screenshots you can view this video review (in Italian)
You can buy it from www.mugen-power-batteries.com

The Mugen Power 4000 Mah supports NFC. A larger backcover is included.
The back cover has a kick-stand, this is great for watching video's.
The only disadvantage with the new backcover is that you cannot change backcovers too often. This is due to the vurnable "holding pins"
I have my 4000 Mah for about a month now, and it is awesome! The battery lasts 2,5 day's with heavy usage. Now I just have to find a way to cut out the back of my cardock in a proper way to fit the larger backcover.
Sorry for late reply! The battery is NFC compatible, i've tested it with another phone and it works!
It can totally replace the original battery

You'd think at some point people would quit falling for these scams, but I guess not. There's no magical battery technology out there that allows a manufacturer to pack more capacity in the same size space.

Toshiba (if i were not mistaken) has now made batteries that has capacities of like 5200mah in a regular sized 2200mah battery. Meaning more juice in smaller pack.

Companies have been working on better battery technology and it shouldn't be much longer before they start showing up for sale to consumers. That said, this isn't anything more than a cheap knockoff with a different label.

So I was going through eBay AU and I found this 2980mAh battery at 3.8V by a company called X-Level (not sure if it is by X-Level but this but check it out!) and I wanted to share this with you guys.
Here's the link - http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/2980mAh-...-Samsung-Galaxy-S-3-SIII-i9300-/321012370740?
I just ordered one and I'm going to check out if this does lasts longer than the stock battery 2100mAh at 3.8V. I'm also going to compare it to another 3rd party battery (with no brand, *l'll post link of this as well below) that is 2300 mAh battery at 3.7V. Has anyone tried this yet? I'm willing to post results as soon as I receive my battery.
*Here's the link to the other battery I mentioned above - http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/New-Repl...lePhoneAccessories&hash=item4d0b930581&_uhb=1

My curiosity got the better of me and I bought one. I don't see any better battery life with this compared to the stock battery. I don't even use it since there is no NFC. If you want to Paypal me the cost for shipping, you can have mine.

Completely forgot about this thread, my apologies. However after usage I can tell you that this may be a very good alternative to stock, cheaper, whilst offering similar performance. Definitely not 2980 mAh though, however it is not a terrible purchase for $10.
Also the battery seems to fall out very easy when you take the back cover off, it does not fit snugly.
