Tmobile Cant order S3 online - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

So the t mobile website has the 16gb white S3 in stock but i cant purchase it because there is no option to buy it for full price no contract. I need it off contract so i can use it with my monthly 4g prepaid plan. I called support and the guy knew pretty much nothing he just told me "i understand and yes there is no option to buy it off contract online you will have to buy it at a retail store." I just think this is complete bull.. I talked to chat support last week and she said i could in-fact buy it off contract online but apparently not. God knows how long ill have to wait for my local retail store to get some in stock. And forget about getting the 32gb because thats online only..

Craigslist.

If you're a T-Mobile customer, you can buy it off-contract online via My T-Mobile.
If you're Joe Blow, I don't think their Website lets you buy anything without being a current customer, or becoming one with a new activation.

Galaxy Note II Off Contract Availability

Guys, where are you getting your Note off contract? Hopefully this thread can help members in the same situation get a galaxy note 2.
I have a pre-paid plan and do not want to be locked into any 2 year plan.
So far, it seem like only T-mobile stores are selling them for $650 + tax and that's if they want to sell it to you. What about Bestbuy? Walmart? etc.

I got mine from the T-Mobile store. I'm not sure if this really answers your question, though. It seems like you already know that the only place that's selling them right now (that I know of) are T-Mobile stores.

I am currently switching from Sprint so I'm not a customer. My local T-mobile store sold it to me off contract but I had to buy a $10 pre paid card to get it activated at the store. I had already ordered a micro sim activation kit online and was planning on activating it myself.
I think it's on a store by store basis.

I bought mine at a T in Albany NY. First I went in to said they had 2 in stock. I said I would like one and will be paying retail. Suddenly the 2 they had in stock had been shipped to another store. I asked if they could call the store to se if they were in stock. The store they shipped them to had already sold them The next store I went to said they had one. I waited for him to get the phone out before I said "I think I'll pay retail". Now I have one and love it.

Yeah I'm wondering if there's any other places that I can buy the phone off contract and maybe even avoid sales tax (via online purchase). Everyone is paying about 700 for theirs.
I've visit one store yesterday but all they had were Gray only. I believe the white one are rare at the moment. They were saving it for new customers or those that are extending their contract.

Not sure how that's cheaper... from a T-Mobile store it costs $649.99 off-contract, it's $703 off wirefly. Even with California tax (8.75%) that makes the Note II $707 from the T-Mobile store. Not to mention that wirefly charges tax to CA, so... for me the wirefly price would be $764...
But yeah, my store wouldnt sell to me, as they were saving it for new and upgrading customers.
Full Purchase Price at T-Mobile Store
I purchased my GN2 yesterday at my local T-Mobile store in the white color 16GB configuration for $683.00 after taxes. I have a SanDisk Ultra 64GB microSDHX memory card class 10 for $50 from Amazon inside it....The only problem I had was when I wanted to purchase it the sales rep at the T-Mobile store wanted me to use my upgrade and I said because I buy my phones outright and he had this shocked look on his and I was like OK....But I did purchase it with no problem though and it took all of ten minutes for me....
Got mine at the T-Mo store last night. Was just over $700 with tax. Wirefly doesn't charge tax in my state but they want I think $729 off contract for it so it was still cheaper to get it from T-Mobile and note have to wait.
Called and visited several Tmo stores. All stores had stock. Most stores had both white and grey in stock. Most said their manager would not let them sell at retail while it was "new". From the way the conversations went, I think I could have talked most stores into selling me one.
One store agreed to let me purchase a white one but not a grey one.
None of the stores seemed to be running out of stock.
$649+tax.

Exactly, there's a coupon that brings it down to $704 or something on wirefly, but still, rather have it now than wait 2-3 days for $3 savings or so.

I bought my wife one on T-Mobile website, and it came out to $684.94 shipped. I think some places will hold their inventory for "new" or upgrading customers, but most places will allow you to purchase outright.

Yeah, it's up to the managers and the two near me are greedier than most i guess.
I woke up at 10:00 in the morning and called my closest store and they had 3 Titanium Grey in stock for New activations or upgrades so I thought I would be out of luck but I went in anyways and I "upgraded" my pre-paid account to the Note 2. That is funny as hell cause that really should not be considered an upgrade as I already have to pay full price for my phones... I took em to school on that one! LOL
Yea they don't get commission when they are sold outright. At least that's the way it was when I sold phones for RadioShack.

Not only commissions but if they run out and someone wants to come in to start a new plan then they also lose a new subscriber. I wish I could afford it at $700 but thats like paying $30/mo for two years just for the phone.

The funny thing is that some people can afford to pay a monthly bill of $100.00/month or more but if you buy your phone outright you cut that monthly fee in half and that is what pays for your phone plus more... No contract for me! :good:
Got my wife's for $702.34 at the Tmobile store inside Meadows Mall in Las Vegas.

Bought mine on launch day at a Tmo store. They were happy to sell it to me for $650 and setup my new micro sim for me, no contract of course.

[Q] Buying the phone, no contract from T-mobile?

Im switching from sprint and I plan on getting the S4 and using it on the $30 prepaid plan. I looked around and it appears the cheapest place to buy a T-mobile or unlocked S4 is from T-mobile for $630. Of course I tried to order it online and they want me to attach a plan.. I know theres a thread where most people bought it and then cancelled the plan immediately, but can I just go to a T-mobile store and buy it from them without signing up for a plan?
Thank you!

None of store near me has they said they wil get it by 15 yes u can buy from store but they will still try to attach u with 50$ plan so might as well just order online next day free shipping and cancel plan. Or never activate sim lol

been a long time since I left XDA developers... purchased the i-phone 4 three years ago, and now own the Samsung Galaxy IV phone..
somehow, I knew that I would be pulled back into this forum..
I purchased my SGIV on release date Monday with t-mobile, surprised me the next day it arrived. Everything pre-loaded, sim, you name it
no hassle.
Honestly, I think T-mobile is the best out there right now then the other big three AT&T,Sprint, and Verizon is offering. Especially, not having to deal with a contract to break free from T-mobile.
Best bet is to purchase it on-line because many major metro areas will carry it vs. smaller cities..

From ATT Unilimieted data (BS throttling) to Tmobile unlimited..any feedback?

Unilimieted is german for Unlimited! LOL
Hi!
I have been on ATT for a long time and still have their unlimited data plan.
I was hoping for feedback on Tmobiles unlimted data plan.
I currently pay about $85 with taxes etc for my plan (and that is because of a $20 discount I get from work!) but as you may now, ATT BS Unlimited means that after 5GB my speed drops to about .5MB!
So I dont want to give any more money to such a BS Bullying company...so I was surprised to read about a $70 plan by Tmobile that offers NO speed drops.
Is this for real?
I was about to get a Note 3 by Tmobile to use on ATT (yeah because of another BS move by att locking the bootloader) and now I am thinking of just changing companies when my contract expires next year.
So any feedback is appreciated.
Thanks!
It's real.
There was a problem with speed some of us had, but they got it fixed. If you have good Tmobile coverage in your area, they are a good choice.
The only real reason to be on Att is if you don't get good coverage with t mobile. Other than that they are great. I am on their 2.5 gb plan because I am dirt poor
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I went by their store today and I really liked what they are offering so I am going to check at work what kind of coverage coworkers get (work sucks for ATT mostly) and I am dropping ATT. I dont care if I have to pay $205 as I was told today to cancel early. I rather do that then pay for their ****ty service tactics for a whole extra year!
My Note 2 is unlocked so I should be able to use it with TMobile as well.
Thanks guys!

Oh yeah I am never close to that! My biggest was 12GB and I was in Puerto Rico on vacation so my phone was my internet at the time, but normally I am from 5 to 8GBs so yeah, I am for sure changing. Just need to decide if I end ATT early and pay the fee. Also if I keep the Note 2 I have and use it with Tmobile or sell it to try getting a Note 3..etc.
I ended att contract early due to their bs throttling and switched to tmob. Couldn't be happierr, just do it already .

Just not sure if I should sell my Note 2 and get the Note 3 from them using their payment plan thing which of course ends up paying a lot more for the phone than buying it used i guess, or just keep the Note 2 and use it with them. Guess that is all I need to figure out

Sell your Note 2 and just buy a "like-new" or new T-Mobile Note 3 off of eBay. That's what I did when I made the switch from AT&T over to T-Mobile.
I just bought another brand new S4 off of eBay for $455 and no tax. T-Mobile's full price is $600 (I just checked) but a few weeks ago when I bought it, it would have been like $650 from T-Mobile directly. I don't get why people would finance through T-Mobile and end up paying extra when you can buy the exact same thing on eBay (brand new) and easily save $150 - $200. Then you don't have that higher bill either. This is what I do each time I get a new phone. I sell the old one, and then I just pitch in the $150 - $200 required to get the newer/latest and greatest model.

Buying a T-Mobile phone off ebay is a risky option. You could end up buying a phone that was on the EIP plan and ends up not being paid by the seller/owner of the phone you just bought.
I ended up buying a N3 off EIP and will sell my current iphone to pay some of it off . Then I will pay off the rest of the balance in a month or two.
I have read some horror stories about blacklisted T-Mo phones that were sold to unsuspecting buyers. I was not going to risk it.
Well I normally just check the IME. Like one local seller was doing one cheap, checked the IMEI and it has not been paid fully so...no go for me
Eghh, I just buy brand new sealed phones off eBay. Check the IMEI then when it comes in. I've never had problems buying from reputable sellers on eBay.

Best Buy Outright Purchase Question

Finally the Best Buy closest to me (3 hours away) has the Verizon white Note 4 in stock. I purchased one online with in store pickup since they are not shipping them. My wife happens to be travelling to this town this weekend so she will pick it up for me. I put her name down as the purchaser and used her debit card to purchase it since she will be the one getting it. My question is are they going to make her activate it there in the store? The phone is for me not her and I paid full price so I can keep unlimited data. She also has unlimited data on her phone a Moto X. I guess it's ok if she has to activate it on her line because of Best Buy policy but she has a Moto X which uses a nano sim where the Note takes a micro sim. Will Best Buy let her take the phone unactivated since its an outright purchase and not an upgrade? I'm hoping so. I don't want them to risk losing my unlimited data.
I bought mine outright and just left store and popped in my sim card. All is good.
They will offer to activate it but just tell your wife to say no, she will do it at home later. I always buy mine outright due to my unlimited data. They have no business to open the box when it's outright buy.

Agreed. The person at best buy was about to open my box until I snatched it from him while he was on the computer lol. Then, for some reason, he asked if I had an iPhone as I pulled out my HTC x_x; something about the sim? :shrugs: I'm just happy that I was the person to open it for some reason haha
I asked Best Buy if I could purchase outright and they told me to piss off.
I purchased mine outright from best buy and I told them I wanted to activate it at home. They allowed me to walk out with it in the box.
I bought full price at best buy an they activated the new card for me. Still have unlimited data.

I'm not sure what you mean, when you're buying at full retail, there's no contract involved. I pre ordered with BB when it was 692, and then they changed it to 749. I said I'm buying the phone at retail, they didn't even ask me for a phone number or anything to do with my Verizon account, but then when I saw the price was 749, I said the retail price is 699 from Verizon Wireless and asked if they can do the same price they said no. Maybe, this person at my Best Buy didn't fully understand their policy. Either way, I was really upset and ended up buying from Verizon. I went with Best Buy in the first place because I had a gift card(not the one that came with pre order) and wanted some reward points.

Yeah it sucked, I waited for like 1.5 hr. Didn't even want to bother getting a manager, probably would've taken them another hour to get one. Just went to Verizon and got my Note 4.
Thanks for the responses. I called this particular Best Buy store and they said they will price match with Verizon so I should be getting it for $699. The reason I chose Best Buy is because I have $150 in gift cards from last xmas I want to use. The other thing the Best Buy guy said was that my debit card wouldn't be charged until the phone is picked up. Well the next day after I ordered my card was charged so he lied. Now when my wife goes to pick it up they will need to reverse that initial charge so she can buy it again with the gift cards and the Verizon price match.

T-Mobile and Verizon rebates

Just playing something out in my head ...
If I buy a 32gb Pixel XL from Verizon which is normally $750.00 then I get the 20% off at purchase .
That brings me to $600.00
Then what if I bring that phone over to my T-Mobile plan and get the $350.00 credit ?
Essentially the phone would cost me only $150.00 out of pocket .

I believe that only applies to the Google Play Store version.
The T-Mobile rebate promotion specifically states that the phone can be purchased from any source, you just need to have some sort of receipt to validate the purchase.
but we cant get a 20% discount unless is a Verizon costumer I called and they said the 20% promotion is only for costumers.

Tmo states you get the credit if you buy the phone from anywhere except vzw.. You might want to confirm. (over zealous tmo help rep tweeted reply)
Also, not sure about how the vzw 20% is discounted (offer valid for costumers only), but tmo's offer is credit off your bill for 2 years of $13.25~/m when you switch plan to tmo one while #BYOPixel.
Out of pocket for the phone will be full price regardless. Craigslist, ebay, amazon, swappa purchases dont qualify either (original purchaser from authorized retailer). YMMV
Not true. U can buy the phone anywhere they will give u the deal as long as u are on auto pay And T-Mobile one plan.
To be on the safe side, just purchase it from Google Store.
