anyone thinks jellybean is possible on desire? - Desire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

What do you think will we see 4.1 on our devices ?

Probably yes, as we saw ics, will come 4.1

Well, altough it should be possible I think we could have a bit of a problem with Jelly. If I'm not mistaken in Jelly CPU works in conjunction with GPU to draw interface and that is how it was possible to lock it at constant 60 fps.
Our phones have noticably slower GPU and CPU than for example Galaxy nexus and I doubt it would be possible to lock it at 60fps. And even if it is possible to achieve that kind of performance it would hog a CPU immensly and drain battery like crazy when in use.
This is only a theory , don't take it for granted.

I think yes,of course it possible we lost some of new possibility of ICS 4.1,but with 1 Ghz of desire CPU , we don't have problem for developing .
I m in doubt just coz for graphics chipset speed in desire

there's already a port out for sgs. i don't see why not on the desire

I believe in Project Butter so... Yes, I believe it can be even faster then ICS lol.
Android code should be optimized :|

It would be great if we get a good jb Version. Looking forward to it

[Q] oxygen rom

hi guys i have oxygen 2.3.1 and get quadrant about 1400 and i saw a person on youtube with oxygen 1.0 that got 3000 almost what kernel does he have?what to do to get scores like that or maybe you huys know some other roms and kernels that i can overclock and get nice linpack, quadrant scores thx
Quadrant is not real world so dont worry about it. It was probably with data2sd which fakes the scores anyway. Dont worry about it.

+1
Those videos on youtube are made using data2sd, and a high class sd-card. The scores look cool, but are not real.

This is mine using MIUI, no data2SD. As people have mentioned though, doesn't really matter, the scores can easily be faked.
Happy with how mine runs.

I agree. What is important is how fast it is for you when you when you actually use it.

Galaxy nexus benchmarks

I know, I know, they don't matter but lets see anyway. I know most aren't ics or even multi core compatible but can we get everyone to post some screenshots of quadrant, antutu & Linpack single and multi thread. I'll get it started using ARHD 1.2.3.

As you can see, quadrant is very low for a dual core, must be an ics problem. Linpack again odd score but hey-ho. Antutu very good score. Beats both the note and sgs2. Get posting!

Good question. It seems to get stuck again on the I/O test like the good old galaxy S. Don't know if ICS uses other I/O procedures that aren't used by the quadrant app. Actually I think it doesn't.
But then again, how important is blazingly fast I/O on a Android device
Good point. To me the phone is faster all around than an SGS2 so at the end of the day it means nothing. Just nice for bragging rights XD
Somehow feels to me as if the phone somehow got more laggy after the last OTA Update?
Also seem to have lost about a 100 points in Antutu..

Arc S gets really hot!

Why is it that when ever I play a game or anything like that my phone gets really really hot? I have it over clocked to, min at 1ghz and maximum at like 1.8ghz? Any ideas?
Thanks on advance

minimum at 1Ghz??dude u r killing your phone...i wonder how much battery life you get...well heating is normal when u play games or use 2G/3G data
yeah dude put min to THE VERY MINIMUM.. putting it to 1ghz minimum is like forcing yourself to constant speed jog around the field
Oh, does it still work with that oc?
Typed down from the sky with sexy LT15i
What will I put it too?
Sent from my LT18i using xda premium
Put the minimum to the minimum, 184. And do you need it at 1.8? The arc s runs pretty warm at its standard 1.4

[Q] Htc wildfire s vs htc desire c

Urgent....
Hi all. i need to know what must i buy the htc wildfire s or htc desire c.
Will the htc wildfire s update to android 4.0?
And can the camera of the htc desire c update? They dont have auto focus or tap focus at this time? that can change in the future or its a hardware issue??
Thanks
Go for the Desire C if you can live without camera flash
Else, look for another low-cost ICS phone
The wildfire S is outdated and cannot be updated to a fully working ICS EVER
the only advantage of desire c is ARMv7 processor....it doesnt even have autofocus camera
Ok thanks to all. so you don't think an update of the camera concerning the auto focus will be able? is it posible?
I have a desire c and had a wildfire s since it was firs released and it was a cool little phone
Desire c is a very good phone, its true it has no flash or auto focus.
But it has official ics, and a guy from the Austrian development team told me they are working on jelly bean, so fingers crossed.
Also it officially supports adobe flash player and has NFC and the audio sounds great (with or without Beats)
But the best thing about desire c is the battery life, it lasts double the time of my wildfire s

better battery life is because of new hardware (less energy hungry)

Exactly, better architecture=better efficiency
Also less heat, this phone runs very cool, even when charging and stressing with games etc.

[Discuss] 4.2 for the HOX

I know its's very , very early since we don't even have Jelly Bean 4.1 yet, but do you think 4.2 will come to the HTC one X ?
If yes : Why ?
If not : Why ?
Personally I think we will get the 4.2 update, but in about a year from now, they always say they will keep updating their devices as long as possible, and the HTC One X is an amazing device with plenty of ram and an amazing processor.
So, what do you guys think?
All news about 4.2 will also be updated in the OP
No 'trĂ³ll'ing or trolling about jelly bean if so just ignore the 'troll'
Probably Q1 2013...

Oh c'mon guys, stop that! Every f**kin' 2nd word has been "JB" the last three months. Don't even start this...unfortunately you already did
Think this way: which fudgin' differnce will there be when you have Android 4.2?!!
Ambitious, to discuss 4.2 whilst guys here are going berserk, over 4.1. But given that. I would say q2, 2013.
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
wouldn't hold your breath htc might not be around at that point the way their stock is falling lol
Tell me one feature you think it has over 4.1.1?
Then read this:
http://www.androidcentral.com/why-you-shouldn-t-worry-about-android-42
4.2 has NO DIFFERENCE in source code, it is only features, that were added.
So for us, people with sense, it is not even interesting.
Have you read the change log before starting this bloody thread?
