Is there any way some one has found out how to stop the Silent updates from Amazon.
There updates look like they want nothing but the basic Kindle Launcher!
One of the easiest ways to avoid the update was simple turning off wifi.
But, I wanted to know if there are any other ways!

I've frozen the OTASilentinstall.apk with luck so far. But fyi this belongs in general.

The updates don't really hurt anything, and CM7 is supposed to be ready tomorrow, which means no worry about OTA updates at all. So just hang tight little Pilgrim.

Actually, you know something I don't, which is the correct day, thought today was Saturday, but yeah, he said Sunday it should be ready.

Use a program like titanium backup pro and tap and hold on the application and select "freeze"

I have a feeling no. Once you root your Fire the amazon prime video detects it and disables it.
Once you are on cm7 you will have permanent root practically and if amazon can detect root or not, Im sure it can detect your not on the right ROM and just outright say no.

Use Voodoo OTArootkeeper it will temp unroot when needed

I wish we could delete out own threads, there are times when I feel like deleting my own thread that gets stale after new updates but there is no way to do it...Can we request he moderators to allow us to do it?

Thanks for posting this app. Basically, for anyone who doesn't know what Dragon Go is, it's a siri-like app (although it doesn't talk to you), but it almost always gets what your asking and gives you good information back. Definitely worth checking out.
Today at work we got a shipment of galaxy nexuses in, and on the outside of the box and on the phone inside it says updated. Can anyone explain this?

Ah. The old problem when tone cant be conveyed in text...it sucks especially on the internet. So how different is the VZW box than the gsm box?

The GSM box has a picture of the phone and the VZW box is just all white.

I know its hard for some to fathom but what he did was try and make you understand that you are asking about something that even if he knew or anyone else at this time it would be speculation. He is also merely trying to get you to instead of starting a new thread just do a little research and find out these answers.
The bottom line is you want to know something and he said to find your answer maybe you should simply look it up. In my eyes he tried to help you and hopefully before you post again you will do a search. If you do that then his mission here on earth will be complete.... LOL :victory:

Honestly if you wanna know what rumors are out there for the galaxy S4 just. Google it its the same exact way anybody else here would find info. And if nothing that you are looking for comes up during your search then chances are we haven't heard of it either.
