This one is ported from WFS,now compiling new wersion from sources

not bad few issues\recommendations after installing:
Max speed of 710 is a bit keen (default of 691 ?)
Recommend latest Nova Launcher (1.2 - lots of bug fixes)
SuperSU rather than SuperUser
Remove pointer following boot-up
Updater script saying installing CM 4.0.3 needs edit as 4.0.4 is installed ...
Advise that gapps are not included
Please dont take this as criticism, I certainly couldn't do this (tho i might have a bash somepoint)
I'd be happy to be guinea pig for testing further builds if you'd to pm me.

awesome! glad to see you guys have an aokp port now.
about the hardware buttons, wouldnt that have to do with the /usr folder? try to replace key layout related stuff with ones from heroics, and it should work.
if you need any help let me know

Download link not work correct..and one question if i understand good this is new port from new HTC Desire C ROM....ICS 4.0.4?
Thanks
P.S.Good will be to make your tread with more exact info like ROM version images from phone, change log and e.g

What works and what not?

Hardware buttons except for menu, home and back (correct me if I'm wrong) don't work. However Keynrtracker (or check here for more information and keynrtracker.apk) resolves all the buttons. The problem doesn't seem to rely in /system/usr/keylayouts, but somewhere else.
Haven't had time to try this ROM out any further.

What about the mic, is it working? Thanks for your help to the hero community. Are you going to return to us?
This happens because some of the libs (HTC + android) are meant to be dl-opened and some are prelinked.
You can always play around with ldd to find which are dynamic and which aren't.
libaudio / libaudioeq / libhardware_legacy tend to cause problems.
Touch screen is now working, was kernel related. But proprietary libs are still not getting linked correctly...

I do not belong to anyone. I do the work I need for me, or concerning Hero, for my girlfriend needs. I just share it, that is all.
But please do respect the " [dev] " in the thread subject and do not pollute and wait for a release.
Can you give these libs a try?

I tried but same error. So u managed to build/run it from source? Is your vendor or device tree somewhere online ?
after having JIT working on Sense 2.1 (thanks for Feeyo) and having the official 2.1 Froyo is the most important thing - I think

I have build it from source yea and got booted up. Although I am having a lot of issues with FC's. I used the sapphire tree with edits and used the 2.1 Hero proprietary drivers to compile it correctly.
I got struck on that spl thing, but Darchstar have near working froyo for cdma. So there is probably some solution to touchscreen problem at least. Look here:

in fairness RaduG compiled Cyan 5.0.7 from Source. He's been on holiday since before Froyo sources were released (AND RaduG is 17!)
But definately, Lox is one of the forefront devs to have looked at Hero, along with Paul, MoDaCo who prefers to deal with Sense than Cyan
Im quite looking forward to trying this. Thank you for your hard work!
it doesn´t mind for me if the camera is not working because i do not use it, but only if you can´t solve it, i think that you can release it and then make an update.zip fix for the camera like other devs.
but whitout any hurry, this is only my opinion.
i can´t wait to flash this.
good job man.
It must be fun to know that xda and twitter get hammered by people waiting for a download link . Great effort, Lox. Again you start the route to a great variety of Froyo Roms on our not yet old-fashioned Heroes
Thanks for making your source tree public and let others benefit from your findings. Nice stroke.
Things you might want to test: (you asked on twitter)
- Proximity sensor
- Brightness sensor
- Location searching through WLAN
- Gmail sync
- Full market access
- Alarm clock
- su (root)
BTW: Can't wait to modify my Exchange password policy removal tool to work on Froyo. If you need assistance in testing, let me know
just a question, will we be able to flash it tonight?

Guys, a couple of clarifications for those who ask by private and here:
This is an ALPHA release, means testing, developers, unstable. Not recommended for people whitout a minimum modding/development/rom playing experience.
I cannot work on other phones for a simple reason, i dont have one to test and the trial and error method is not an option (too many things can went wrong..)
All working features will be added to the first post (if is not there, is not working)
donate link is in the left side below my name (usual location on XDA)
Hope this covers all the questions.
Cheers
The colors problem is fixed? Or still we have the orange pattern?
Looking forward to re-igniting my (now)dormant passion for the good old SGS!
All the best!
I just had a little fun experimenting.
1) can you check the version of the kernel for I9000. Neither touchscreen ril worked when I installed. Swiping didn't work and my sim was never accessed.
2) I would not just try this as it might not work for everyone. I was able to install the system as an update to my cm7 installation. It has a nice update system where it converts contacts and calendar events to the ics standard. After it finished my phone froze and needed a restart. However after booting again, all my apps were still installed and angry birds worked. Looked a bit weird in those colours and swiping wasn't working at that point.
Oh and the colour issue seems to be like an overlay more than anything else. Menus that flicker show correct colours behind them. (If you bring up the power menu, the desktop behind it as it flickers is in the correct colouring). Or maybe the colouring and flickering are linked and it only appears like an overlay. (Fyi, hw acceleration may not help this. I used non hw accelerated roms in the past and there was no flickering on them like there is in this port).
Anyway its pretty exciting to be playing around with ics.
Edit: anyone wanting to test this should do a nandroid backup. I restored mine after testing and its as thought I never had ics installed (aka completely successful). Backup the nandroid on your pc tho. I am sure there will be work done on the sdcard which in theory could get wiped. (And many backups are a great idea)

Is safe, only do a nandroid of your actual rom/mod.
You must have your actual stock rom (odin one) with your pit, for unistall this rom.
Ps: really sorry for my basic english

Kernel for i9000 does not have the ril inside, ril is on the last image i've uploaded, you need to download and install the lastest image (first post) and then the i9000 kernel.
Its true that the negative color its a androidGLES problem, but the only working (so far) software GLES is the one that cames with the emulator, so enabling the hardware video chip will fix the color (since it is going to be rendered on real hardware and not in the softGLES)
Cheers

[DEV] LG P350 general dev thread - CM 7 & 9 or kernel development

THIS THREAD IS FOR DEVELOPERS ONLY!
Please do not post your problems with ROM here.
Post your ideas about working on ICS or CM7 and your problems with compiling sources or similiar.
I posted my p350 sources on github:
https://github.com/pax0r
You will find an instruction how to download mine soruces and compile it by yourself at:
https://github.com/pax0r/android_device_lge_pecan
Here we can speak how to improve this ROM ( 7.2 ) and also how to work on ICS. On my github you can find branch "ics" - it is somehow releated to my work on ICS but it's not complete.
So let's make our device EPIC!
For the begining I will post my problems releated to working on P350:
The problem I have with 7.2 release is that BT is not working - drapalyuk fixed it somehow in last release but I don't know how. If any one have idea what was changed from 1910 to 2010 drap release please let me know!
Also I started to port .35 kernel for our phone - but it's not working yet. Kernel boots and console via adb is usable at this moment but Android itself does not start on it. I will post more in this topic later.
now syncing the source
hi pax0r,
I'm trying to build CM 7.2 using your guide and source code but I notice a couple of issue that maybe create problems to someone beginner like me:
1) if you run ./extract-files.sh on a phone with CM 7.2 (vivekkalady) the extraction will fail on 3 files: libloc-rpc.so, libloc.so, libcommondefs.so. Maybe they are located in a different path.
2) I think this line of code in extract-files.sh is wrong:
Code:
adb pull /system/lib/hw/gralloc.default.so ../../../vendor/$MANUFACTURER/$DEVICE/proprietary/lib/hw/gralloc.default.so
it should be:
Code:
adb pull /system/lib/hw/gralloc.default.so ../../../vendor/$MANUFACTURER/$DEVICE/proprietary/lib/hw/gralloc.pecan.so
to avoid issue later.
I'd like to try to compile ics. What do you think is missing to make it works?
Best Regards,
Gabriele
hi pax0r,
the market crash few times at the begin but after I reboot it seems to be fine.
I attached the logcat.

For me there are no missing libs - I was running it on 7.1 so mby Vivek 7.2 is missing them?
About gralloc - there should be two libraries gralloc.default.so and gralloc.pecan.so
About ICS I have no idea yet and now no time to look at it - studies, work and 7.2 rom is everything I can do at once ;P

I think the problem about missing libs is related with vivek 7.2 rom.
it's strange but I can't see gralloc.pecan.so. Anyway I'll check it this evening.
I was able to build everything using your tutorial but now I want to try with ICS. I need a bit of searching on internet.
Thank you for your work,
Gabriele
Hm I've checked it and it fact there were no gralloc.pecan in extract - it was obviously a bug, I pulled everything from device, then I was making some refactoring and I didnt check it after that. I will push commit with fixes today.
Thanks for pointing it!
I see a keylayout headset push, how did you make the headset button works? I replaced both keylayout (qwerty with the haptic fix and 7k), but the dammed button still with problems =/
Thanks
PD: The new implementation of gralloc will fix the dammn warning of prelink? (on the log)
I'm not sure if this keylayout will make headset work as I don't have one but it was suggested that it may help but this need test. New gralloc is because it is open source comparing to the original propriety one and I'm testing its speed - it is at least the same so I will leave it
To solve a problem with prelink there should be a prelink.map created but I dont know exatly how to build one. It is not a critical error but with prelink.map the boot process could be faster.
I still didnt fixed copybit ;/
If you have some idea how to help refer to this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=21592280&postcount=28
EDIT: copybit fixed
hey could some one with the headset use this app:
https://market.android.com/details?id=aws.apps.keyeventdisplay
click headset buttons few times and post output of this app (if any)?
BTW do the headset buttons works on Vivek ROM?
Let me compile it with the new changes and I will try
At least, I'm currently using 7.1.0 (your 7.1.0) and nothing happens. (EDITED)
call\music button problem
paxor can u rectify the call\music button for wired headset
Can you compile ICS with your new files and send it to me ??
I will try to port ICS with your new files
Hey pax0r, are you sure with the fix? Compiled, installed... but I get a weird screen on menu =S
Thanks
I get a minor success at porting .35 kernel for p350. It boots and works but it still to bugged to public release. However if you have any dev experience you can grab it here https://github.com/pax0r/lge-kernel-msm7x27 and help me fix it!
I don't know exactly how Android handles GUI, IDK how to help right now, but I just can told you about the bug when android it's displaying interface.
Can you upload your compiled ICS so that we can tweak it to get it working!
I've removed my built version and now my source code wont even build :/
Hi Pax0r! well, i want to become a dev, i have some kind of linux knowledgement and have a good willing to learn, could you please point me out to some basic tutorials about building from cyanogen source? i've searched myself in the wiki but i didnt saw anything about lg pecan, any information you can give me, I will study it and maybe then become of help in dev community! thanks in advance!!
There is not much info about anything for P350 as it is not very popular device. Everything you need to start building CM for P350 is here, in mine Readme file:
https://github.com/pax0r/android_device_lge_pecan/blob/gingerbread/README.mkdn
Everything else you need to get by yourself =p but I will try answer all your questions
I learned everything by checking avaibale info for similar devices (MSM7227 board, for example: LG P500, ZTE Blade) and source codes.

This is LorD ClockaN's ICS build for our Vision!
Dear users,
I'm going to discontinue this build. I do not have the needed experience and time to debug this build. The modified framework by LorD is a pain in the ass, there are all sorts of functions missing or incompatible with our vision.

Development progress - 19-03-12:
Twisted and LorD are working a build with good working panorama cam and camcorder so still waiting for an update!
I fixed the auto brightness and softkey lights.
The hw keyboard lights still don't function properly, but I think this is due to the bug nickeedoo pointed out (still clueless what it might be...)
If somebody got some clues about what or where to look or modify for proper rotation please pm/dm me!
Virtuous OC daemon script added for ppl who want to use an OC daemon. (automatically disables when you use setcpu or similar).
libs and drivers updated for vision, (hopefully) no more random reboots!
Update 02 - 04 -12
The base got updated to 4.0.4 which means.. that nothing works anymore for the vision, I'm kinda stuck in debugging all the "easy" bits again sorry it might take a while.
i'm a *** but can you update to beta 6.1? because i think this have many problem if Lord have updated in little time.

It's about tilerendering ,go to build.prop and set:
debug.enabletr to false
Edit: it seems already changed to false in this build.
is there that much of a difference between this and cm? the reason I ask is just to know if the video camera would be working in the next build. I apologize in advance if that is a rude question and if it is in any way, you dont have to answer.
I really appreciate the work put into this rom and cant wait to try it out. I am happy that there is another ics rom but built from source.

So... smooth... oh my gosh... I don't know if it's just that I'm tired, or if somehow my phone is just incredible, but this rom is SO. SMOOTH! I have never seen this, even in gingerbread.
mornings! yes I talked with LorD last night and I will update to 6.2 when I get back from work
tilerendering is indeed off 6.2 will fix the camera again some issues moved in after 5.6
@jspina
there's not that much difference, this rom is just smooth like nickeedoo says and has a nice ROM control menu with some nice customizations! There's the blackICE theme too.
You can switch between the lockscreens, (normal, quad, octo) etc.
I will try to fix the keyboard backlight for the next version and add a trackpad wake patch tonight.
probably no need to wipe!
Interesting....Going to try this once it's updated to 6.2. Thanks for the work!!

Same, I will try once the update is released. Thanks!
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA
I'm downloading now but was wondering with GooManager I can perform updates for this rom correct? Thanks for your work!
Sent from my HTC Desire Z using Tapatalk
Nope not yet, I'm using my private server for the updates at the moment, will talk with LorD about Goomanager. Though you won't need to perform a wipe, you can download the new file, move it to your SDcard and install it, the rom will wipe the necessary stuff.
Tonight I will be updating the rom to 6.2
update the kernel
hopefully fix the keyboard backlight and add tp wake as patch.
Also, I'm thinking about adding the Virtuous OC script for OC profile support, how do you guys think about that?
One gripe I have with this rom is that the rotation started by the keyboard doesn't work completely well. I remember this being a problem with early alpha builds, but thought it had been fixed. What happens is once the keyboard is opened, the screen will rotate for a second but then rotate back to portrait. The only fix I know of is to turn autorotate on.
Ah, I see what you mean, will try to fix that as well tonight Too bad i don't understand much of the smali code yet so I might have forgotten that part
Well, since some of the users (myself included) use different apps for CPU management (like SetCPU or CPU Tuner), I think it'd be beneficial to add the option of installing the feature via AromaUI or an ILWT-like function if you intend to add more options prior to flashing, otherwise a flash-able .zip would do.

When you install SetCPU/CPU Tuner, Virtuous OC daemon gets automatically disabled.

I actually need some help with this, I've no idea how to fix this... I fixed the keyboard and softkey lights, updated the kernel and waiting for 6.2 now. So I still got time to fix stuff
HW backlight on the keyboard?
God I so want to flash this lol.......Waiting for video suppport
haha nice I'm kinda confused at the moment... hw keylights should work, but they don't
the OC script works fine! and the current build is 6.1 now... LorD won't release 6.2 yet, so I got some time to fix everything and release a new awesome build

[ROM][ICS][STOCK] sediROM - non-dev discussion thread

.
.
.
sediROM - or why I created a new ROM based on the good old ("ancient") ICS
.
.
.
Long story short. The following list are my requirements to a custom ROM:
I need my phone everyday so I need to resist that it is working everyday (means rock stable).
I do NOT need the latest available Android version.
I WANT to have the other components (like Kernel etc) up to date.
I REALLY REALLY need headset profiles for my bluetooth devices (Jabra, Nokia and Plantronics)
I need root access, of course.
I want to get the best battery life possible.
GB is too old for me.
Stock ROM is "too stock" for me.
I have tried all available captivate ROMs starting from ICS over Jelly Bean to KitKat.
Android < v4.x are too old for my requirements. Several features missing and well it even LOOKS old..
Android >= v4.1 are working well with the Glide but there is 1 main killer function which is completely broken since Android 4.1: Bluetooth Headset Profiles
(The Bluetooth stack was completely re-developed in 4.1)
The version which is the best compromise of beeing fresh enough - but working like a charm is Android v4.0.4 (ICS)
The problem is.. there is no ICS based ROM out there which completely fullfill ALL my requirements.
So I thought it is time for me to create my own daily-use feature-complete and rock stable ROM for the Samsung Captivate Glide / SGH - I927..
IMO the best working and best battery saving ROM for the Glide is PACMAN ROM (used pac_i927-milestone.1.RC1.4.zip)!
The problem: the earliest version of it is based on Android 4.1 which is a No-Go for me because of Bluetooth HSP.
--> I recommend the mentioned version of PACman as your daily driver if you do NOT need BT HSP. I had it running several weeks without any problems but really great battery saving.
.. well that said I couldn't fork PACman ..
So I've downgraded to all available ICS based ROM again (which was VERY painful because of broken links to the apps because of different mount point names etc).
I have tried those all again (IcePOP, Cranium, Stock, DMans ICS, etc.) but no was "as good as" LiteROM (IMHO) - which I used several weeks before.
.. so +1 for forking LiteROM ...
The problem with LiteROM is that there are still issues and no further development is done on it.
Some of the major LiteROM issues for me (those are also the reasons why I first tried newer Android versions):
It looses the paired devices after a reboot ! (but that sounded to me like it can be fixed somehow)
The lags/waits when pressing the power button to switch the display on
Battery life is not the best
not the latest Kernel
many little things in the installer like it re-installs everything when only switching to another modem etc.
Nevertheless LiteROM is still the best base I can get (because it fits to my requirements best and is rock stable) and therefore I started in May 2014 the build of sediROM which is a fork of LiteROM v0.9.
UPDATE:
sediROM is officially available and have tons of fixes and enhancements inside. Check it out in the DEV thread:

what kernel do you use? Stock or litekernel?
Replacing kernel is very easy.
No documentation for BT sound, I dont think anybody would fix it. I've tried to find dev to find alsa HAL ( that is for voip sound fix), and no luck, while fixing alsa much more easier then fix BT sound.
Somebody tried to port cm10, it has many issue, you can find that topic in dev forum.
The idea for sediROM is to have a very well tested setup of default settings (like which kernel, etc.) but the free choice to modify it later whenever you like it.

Well not 1 only ... there are 4 available atm (and more when I find them and find them good enough...) (while using LiteKernel v1.2.2 as default atm - but you have the free choice)
Stock Kernel
LiteKernel v4.0 OverClocked and without UnderVoltage
LiteKernel v1.2.2 GPU not OverClocked and with UnderVoltage
LiteKernel v1.2.2 GPU OverClocked and with UnderVoltage
I tried with the ardatdat 4.x Kernels, too but without success.

Well yes and nowhere such comfortable as in sediROM You can choose one of the above within the aroma installer. The same for several Modems which coming with LiteROM already (nice for testing around).

BT sound? Do you have any issues here? For me BT sound itself is working great (using it daily in my car)?! But you talked about voip - is your problem skype related?

would you point to sediROM? I couldnt find anything with google.
I dont know what is litekernel v4, I tought the last one was 2.x or less.
Litkernel has many power save improve, but it has many bugs too,
You have said already headset doesnt work, or does it work? I'm confused.

It will be available soon - The first barrier was the post restriction which is ok now And now I need to find a place for uploading the 430 MB and then I will post it in the dev area..

Oh no I said Bluetooth is generally working fine in Android v4.0 and therefore in sediROM / LiteROM but not in other ROMs which are based on Android 4.1 or higher
--> The only thing which are not perfect in v4.0 (or especially in LiteROM) is that Bluetooth Pairing are lost after rebooting.
--> ... and that is fixed in sediROM
Smashing! I have been roaming around for something like this! Bloody awesome! Let me know when you have the download link ready! I will be glad to test it, and if it is stable as stock ICS I will definitely keep it as my DD! Thanks in advance for this! If you say it is indeed a fork for LiteROM with no bugs it will be the s#$)!!! And of course a keeper. Same as you, I´ve tried almost every ROM available for our cappy, but never totally satisfied with none. :fingers-crossed: Hoping this ROM is what I have been looking for. What exactly did you fix, aside from the pairing issues? Any luck with the automatic toggles, Force close issues, deep sleep power button.... :fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed:
Man gimme more details! Freakin excited here :silly: jue jue jue jue

whooa keep calm my friend
as said I try to solve all the problems I saw in my case and that's what I fixed. If that fixes all yours.. - I don't know
The thing which sounds interesting to me is that you talk about automatic toggles and force closes.
I never seen automatic toggles and force closes but it may be because I use another Kernel. Well we will see when you have tried it .
I cannot promise it is bug free (in this early state of this ROM there is at least 1 known bug - to be honest) but I may can help to fix things..
Rest and details coming soon...
I'd definitely be interested in testing your ROM. Your idea is more or less what I wanted for my i927. Hope to be able to try it soon.
xdajog quick question mate, which Kernel have you been using so far? Stock Kernel, Litekernel (version)?
I remember lite kernel causes battery drain in ics
Sent from my SGH-I927 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app

Exactly, that is why I would like to know which kernel would be recommended Never tried liteRoM with stock kernel
Will be fun to test out. I mostly stick to CM11 but I like to try out others often.

Well that point is not totally fixed yet. I'm currently using Litekernel 1.2.2 in the not-overclocked version but also played around with the others - even Stock of course. That said I cannot say that I've found a perfect kernel (grakernel may the one but it is for JB and higher only ) and still testing others.
So the short answer is that there are not such differences between them when it comes to battery drain (see my post in the dev because that's one of the open points yet)
... and only to ensure that we have all the same understanding: sediROM is my experiment to go to / to get / to become the perfect stable but actual ROM for the Glide. It is "on it's way" you now
For becoming that I need feedback of course and I believe there will be many things I may not seen/use like you do so don't expect something "perfect"

You are really miss the point.
4.0 means android version not kernel version.
The litekernel package includes a boot image, that boot.img include kernel, ramdisk.
Ramdisk is the root on your android. Litekernel has some ramdisk modification too ( https://github.com/thegreatergood/LiteKernel---Glide/tree/master/Build4.2/ramdisk/sbin/ext https://github.com/thegreatergood/L...ster/Build4.2/ramdisk/sbin/LiteKernel_Manager )
Grakernel should work with any rom, it doesnt change ramdisk, just replace kernel and install modules to /system/lib/modules. I think modules in you rom is in /lib/modules on ramdisk, so you need to change my install script to modify ramdisk.

oh I'm quite new in that and a little disappointed now :crying: Well kernel v1.x is not for Android 1.x so .. in a perfect world the version naming would be everytime the same.. so everyone would know what it means... So I it may be the same as one of the 1.x LiteKernels available.

Hm so you say replacing the kernel, adding the modules and it should work?
I've tried that already but without success (booting but display keeps black with some green pixels ..)
As I can see in your link the Litekernel mods are note relevant for functioning or am I wrong? They seem to do some power saving stuff nothing else?

Litekernel has 2 version string, one from the build version and one from android version. Litekernel has some power save codes, it cases that deep sleep issue IMHO.
Did you download kernel from i9103 forum or mine from http://dualhoki.vim.hu/bubor/dev/grakernel/ ? Sound like you have i9103 version.

it was yours (1.4.3) - but I will re-test it again to be sure..
I want to give a try
i am very very very interrested in your ROM!
The BT-Headset function is very important for me, because for my car hifi handsfree bluetooth mode.
Battery Life
Since we are on the topic of battery life... does KitKat have the best battery life, or should I be using something else?
