Anyone thinking about getting one of this? I might try it out.

As far as what I've seen I wouldn't recommend this or would be hesitant to try this. I'm not sure how this screen protector sticks to the phone but since it is glass I'm guessing that the normal sticky thingy that screen protector use is not what they use here. It could only stick to the edges of yñthe front of the phone and if a spec of dust or sand were to get in between the phone and the tempered glass this will cause permanent scratches to the screen.
Again I wouldn't try it but I would love to see someone that gets it make a review.

Screen protectors from VZW store

So I am terrified of scratching my screen so i went into the VZW store today and got their anti glare screen protector. I've never put one on, or used one, so they did it for me. They didn't do that bad of a job, there's some loose spots around the edges, but I was more disappointed by how the screen looks now. You can definitely see the protector, even more so during white or light colored backgrounds/apps.
This is fine for now, as at least im protected, but can anyone recommend one that doesn't do this? I'm not familiar with them as this is my first time.... but i want my screen to be beautiful again!
I don't think you need a screen protector. The screen isn't Gorilla Glass, but I'm sure it's right near it in quality.
There's a bunch of people who already scratched their screens...

Can someone move this, wrong forum
Verizon sells two types of screen protectors
1. Antiglare protector
2. Clear protector
I suspect that you got the antiglare protector from your store. The upside to this one is that it cuts glare, has a smoother slide but can affect visibility of on screen apps like you notice.
Go back and buy the clear protector as I have no issues with it. if you think you may have problems putting it on yourself, then you can always pay 2x the price for a single Zagg protector in your local mall.
Good luck
i also got the anti glare one from verizon but the grainy/static look is starting to bug me im thinking of just using the phone naked

The grainy-ness really cheapens the screen. I would suggest going and buying a better screen protector. That's what I'm doing. Not going naked for a few months.
I as well got the anti-glare screen protector at the Verizon store and I hate it, I can't admire the screen because it looks like crap with the screen protector on. I went to the Clear Coat screen protector stand at my local mall and they said they should have protectors for the Galaxy Nexus in about a week and I plan to just do that instead of living with this anti-glare crap.
I'm going to order a replacement one on Amazon tomorrow, any suggestions? I don't want one that has to be wet to apply. I don't want to even know its there...
Are you sure this isn't gorilla glass? I had the Nexus S4G and the Epic 4G and the Epic Touch 4G. Non of these phone ever got scratched. There was a thread describing what it would take to scratch the gorilla glass but I can't find it.

It's not Gorilla Glass but it is a reinforced glass. It would be extremely tough to scratch this screen.

This glass is SOFT, and scratches very easily. I baby all of my phones, and I managed to get 3 minor scratches in a mere 3 weeks. My OG Droid and Nexus S went a year each with no problems. I hate screen protectors, but I ended up getting one because again...this glass is SOFT. I have the regular Verizon one, and I'm quite happy with it.

Yes, it's the normal, not the anti glare. I'm surprised at how clear they are. I bought it as a temporary solution, but I'm pretty sure I'm just going to keep it. It looks and feels great.

If it's a corporate store, I think you have a shot. Just tell them that you didn't want the antiglare in the first place and it ruins the phone. If it's one of those authorized dealers, I doubt they exchange it.

what is the best DRY screen protector?

i prefer dry screen protectors and am looking for one. as of now i have the protector that came with the dizztronic case but it is a little too small. if you have a positive experience with a dry screen protector please let me and other users know about it.
I think some were mentioning in another thread that the Verizon's clear protector is best. $12.99 for 3. Make sure it's not the anti glare version.

Thanks for making this post, OP I'm in the same situation! I bought the same case and had the same realization with that protector. I'm also looking for a dry one!
The clear one from the Verizon store is pretty dang good. I recommend using those.

Screen scratching from a tempered glass screen protector possible?

Hi all,
I have the following concern - am I used to plastic screen protectors, which in most cases reduce the screen quality. I want to try glass but I think that it is possible that the tempered glass screen protector can actually scratch the screen under certain contitions, as most of them are really hard (for example a lot of pressure or chipping of the protector). Any thoughts on the subject? Has anyone experienced scratches from a glass protector under normal use?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
I never have. The ones made from SGP will break in a certain way to cause no harm to you nor the phone. I have no clue about the other screen protectors

I've seen a video of someone dragging it on the road behind a motorcycle and then just peeled it off with no damage. It skid for about a block. no actual shock test was done.

This is exactly what I've been looking for. I haven't been able to find a screen protector that fits with my diztronic tpu case. They always peel off at the corners.
I got my LGOG in November and after having no screen protector since then I still have 0 scratches. I'm just using a TPU case that is raised on the front so when I set it down or drop it the screen doesn't have any contact. I've even had the phone in pockets with change and keys on accident. With newer phones screen protectors aren't needed nearly as much as they used to be thanks to Corning Gorilla Glass and such.

Same here. I got a screen protector (zagg) immediately after purchasing mine in November. I've been too lazy to put it on. Still, no screen protector, just an otterbox case, and the screen is in perfect shape. I would like to rock my phone with no case, but the camera sticks out on the back.

iloome installed, mini-review
Ordered mine from amazon, came in about 2-3 days. First impression, the packaging for the flex glass was great. A box inside a little box, inside a thick protective covering, inside of a thin protective covering. It came with all the necessary things for a clean install- cleaning cloth, "hinge" tape, and dust remover. The flex glass was perfectly cut, although it only has a cutout for the speaker- no cutout for front camera or proximity. I have not noticed any difference in quality of the front camera or had any issues with the proximity sensor. Glass is crystal clear and so much better than the other type of screen protectors. The glass feel is perfect. 100% satisfied...never gonna have a phone without it again!

When you applied it were there bubbles?
I have this big fear that if I get a bubble in a glass SP I'll never be able to push it out. I always use wet SP because of this.

How does this compare to popular PET film screen protectors like the iSmooth?
Can someone with both comment on the differences?
I have the iSmooth, which works great with my Diztronic case. Clarity is also great, but it seems to attract so much oil!! My screen constantly gets greasy and becomes a fingerprint magnet. More so than cheaper screen protectors that I've put on my parents' phones. So does the oleophobic coating on the iloome work well?

This flex glass almost feels like the OEM glass. It was raining today and i noticed that when it hit the screen, the water immediately beaded. With that said, it's alot easier to clean! It attracts a bit less fingerprints than the PET films, but nothing significant. Definitely on the same scale as the OEM glass. Hope that helps

Besides oleophobicity, is it also antifingerprint and antirefflective (so, matte, as its name implies)?
