AOKP for customization

The Blu Kuban has a lot of customization especially with the rom updater.. And nice battery with the kernel he built

His suggestion is better. That ROM is customizable too and is inverted with lots of dark theming. Avoiding whites will lead to better battery life.

What is a kernel?

A kernel is like the interface between your hardware and software.. When your software needs the hardware to do something it sends a request to the kernel.. Example : lowering and raising screen brightness.. When you tap the home button and your phone goes to the home screen... It's many more functions but you get the point)
And a good kernel can = better battery life and better performance

What features do you want to see in a rom?

Hey all. Just got my device. Coming from the epic 4g. Released 2 great roms there. Beginning work on one for the hercules.
My question for you is... What features are you yearning for?
On my short list so far is a volume rocker mod. This allows you to go from silent to vibrate to full sound without choosing vibration options.
What else would you like to see?

Looking forward to it.
Currently syncing Kernel sources for our device. Going to be working on getting BLN, OC/UV, Schedulers and various others incorporated.
Anyone know why no one has tried to compile a kernel with Voodoo color support? I know sound isnt going to happen, but Voodoo color might help. Especially with everyone running into dark caves to see blobs and such.
Also have you guys ever seen the 10 locks mod?
I know juggernaut [awesome rom] has 4 locks. I'm going to be working on porting the 10 locks mod here.

Just so you know. I lol'ed my ass off to this man. I'm super excited to see more Devs coming in I think voodoo colors would be awesome! Id be interested in seeing the 10 lock mod as well!
if you are going to compile a kernal the drivers for 2d on our source is not right...lots of stutter...faux used the skyrocket one and the difference is amazing....welcome to our forum just put your Roman on my buddies epic today so I recognized the name...look forward to your work
It would be great to get car dock call audio to output through the dock's 3.5mm jack. I've been looking everywhere, and all I can find is "it has to be enabled in the kernel, it's not a stock functionality", which really sucks.
I would still like the Screen Capture thing we have. Home+power button. And some themes that google mightve made.. nothingg to over the top. Plain and easy to the eyes. And put alot of battery tweaks and init.d scripts in it! But also make it to where its responsive and the animations are smooth like we would have as an exynos processor. I really liked the work I saw while visiting tthe epic 4G forum. Oh and last but not least! A modded camera so we can have a power button when we are in the app and press the power button it'll snap a pic. You should ask whitehawkx about it if u don't know how!

I would like some lockscreen MODS. Not the one fro m Juggernaut! They suck. But look around in i9000 section. I would like FULL 1GB RAM. If supercario shows vooDoo... add it. Good ondemand governor or lagfree. make sure that the cpu work correctly. STOCK UNTHEMED. Bravie Engine and xLoud. Add Thunderbolt, V6, unvier Adredaline, all those type of tweaks. Theme configuration from settings. CPU configuration from settings. Modded Clockwork MOD :3 If you can... Kernel tweaks are OC CPU/GPU .... Enhance 2D and 3D ... SD Tweaks..
Good battery life and compact toggles in notification bar

As it's been repeated. We need the device tree. Basically, we need CM9 to come out first. THEN, all MIUI can be achieved.
And a cool long mystical rom name x3

Touchwiz 4.0.4 that's snappy like like AOSP with all tweaks and goodies included, Jedi Kernel, with an AOSP theme.
Also, a build of cm10 that doesn't suck the life out of my battery.

I would like to see master&slaves make a jb rom for our phone.
I would love to see a feature like my asus laptop has, a simply app that can change between high performance, regular or battery saving life mode right now we just highly tweaked then battery saving mode
Most roms dont show battery percentage
Automatic ram clearing coding
Some way of easily switched on the torch without unlocking the phone

What Rom you prefere and why?

I am on on Omega v10 Rom with KERNEL Note2Core OC version and is the best for my.
8160 score in quadrant with this kenel:good:and setcpu is on performance.
But i dont have tried any other costom roms.
Personally I always use Wanamlite roms by Wanam. I used them in s3 also. I retain the stock feel.
They have all the tweaks I need and full support by a great dev.

Westcrip pitch black stock rom!!!!!

I'm on Omega v10 with Perseus kernel. I chose Omega because of I find it reliable and there's a lot more people using it so bugs, if any, are reported quicker and development always seems to be going along. And I use the Perseus kernel because it gives excellent battery life and has a fix for the SDS.
Sent from the Rabbit Hole
I use the Perseus kernel before but i am a fun of benchmarks and with Perseus on 1.8Gh i got only 7200 in quadrant now with Note2Core i got over 8000 and i have undervoltage so the battery is ok for now.
For those who want transparent Rom just instal Phoenix Rom it has 0-25-50-75-100 transparent mod + many other tweaks.
I have tried :good:
Lol, stock ROM, only stock ROM, forever.
Why? I hate buggy stuffs.
Swyped from my GT-N7100
I like the pure Google stock Android, hence why I have a nexus. If using a non-nexus, then Cyanogenmod.

Stok Rom is ok but costom is better for ,,my''
Many tweaks.
Using omega v10 with red pill kernel , excellent battery and performance. Also used paranoid android darkness unofficial port but it had a lot of force closes , also used crisko rom which was good but slower development. Using this along with camera from 4.2 as well as keyboard and jelly bean rom theme. Don't want to loose s pen functionality and tw features

I rooted and installed Omega 9.1 and the perseus kernel at the time, and I've since upgraded to Omega 10.
Reasons, Omega Is a feature packed heavily tweaked under the bonnet "stock type" rom. So you get all the functionality and more. Its also based on the most up to date android and it has a kitchen app on the play store and im a sucker for a kitchen app! Theres also lots of compatible mods for it too such as themes and bootanimations etc etc. Support over in the main thread seems ok and the dev "indie" seems to know what hes doing.
I like the Perseus kernel because it gives longer battery life than stock and it comes with stweaks app which is a kernel specific app. I only like to use it for the audio tweaks as it directly manipulates the wolfson dac we are lucky to have in our Note 2's and you can get some fantastic sound if you know what your doing.
The Omega Rom has also been featured on Youtube quite a lot recently

Now i test CRASH Rom v4.3 with Scamus theme it lock very very nice:good:
Kenel Note2Core V2.21,V3 is very laggy.
Quadrant 7280 on OC 1.8 less then Omega 7860 but is nice rom
Wanamlite, and stock kernel and tweaked with Pimp My Rom. Awesome battery life!
Omega v14 with stock kernel. I was actually satisfied with the stock rom, except with some minor annoyances which are fixed in Omega (long delay after the call ends, the ugly implementation of the increasing ringtone, no call ecording, toggle buttons scroll, etc.), plus it comes with tons of customizable settings. I will probably try perseus kernel as well.

Tried it and got system UI crash and lost my status bar....
it works on stock ma6 and myrom. those are the ones i tested it on.
Going to gamble and try it on the Tweaked Rom. Wish me luck. I used to use this mod like practically everyday on my old GS3 and it is awesome!
Amazingly it works quite well on Tweaked 1.3. Only thing that gets borked Is the TSM parts status bar settings don't function no longer. Other than that it's awesome!

[Q] Can anyone recommend a solid, stock, rooted ROM?

I'm looking for a solid, stock rooted ROM that is the most up to date as possible. I've been using CM10.1 for quite awhile now, and it's just a little too buggy for my liking.
Thanks in advance.
GB27 is really good and stable. Flash tdunham's AIO mod on top and it gets even better.
Does GB27 have pop-up text notifications w/o the need for a 3rd party app? One thing that I'd miss if it's not there.
Touched by s4 is good two
