External vs Internal SD Card? - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

Ok its been a little bit since I've dealt with this system but how can I make clockwork mod recovery recognize files saved on my external micro sd card instead of the internal 16gb one? Where can I select the external micro sd card to be the primary sd card?

external micro SD card?

Does the Samsung Galaxy S3 take more than one Micro SD card? I see some forum/youtube comments mentioning an internal as well as an external micro sd card, but I can't find an external slot on my phone!
Unfortunately it doesn't. The phone treats the internal 16 or 32 GB storage as "Internal SD Card", and microSD socket behind the rear cover as "External SD card".
Internal SD is the inbuilt non removable and the micro SD external is next to the sim card which you can remove.

You can connect a external SD card via a USB OTG cable.

the "external" slot is the one under the battery cover.
"internal" is not accessible by you, without taking the whole apart, as it is attached to the motherboard.
The external slot is just under the battery cover which allows you to put a microsdhc card, the internal sd is a soldered in memory chipset, and the android os will indicate this as internal sd.
you can also use the USB OTG for other memory cards, flashdisk or HDD.

Confused about types of storage and encryption

I'm confused here. The naming of type of storage. There is SD and External SD and "device". I assume SD is the internal (16GB) memory and External is the (64GB) Micro SD card I have inserted?
With that in mind, I get confused on file managers that say SD memory because that makes me think Micro SD card. They even show it as as a card icon in OI File Manager! But now I realize that exSdCard is my microSD.
So now my question is the encrypting. We have two options:
Encrypt Device and Encrypt SD card
This is confusing! Is the "device" the internal 16GB SD?
Or is SD the internal memory and Device is some other internal section?
Is there no option to actually encrypt my 64GB micro SDcard?
Halp
Device=accounts, settings, downloaded apps & their data, media if stored on internal, and some other files all stored on internal phone memory.

Saving on ext SD card

Hello,
I have sugarsync which stores its info on the SD card. The new Galaxy I just bought has its internal storage listed as SD card and the micro SD card is listed as ext. Sd Card. Is there a way to make my programs save their data on the Ext SD card instead of the Internal storage?

format SD card?

Hello,
IN recovery under mount and storage menu, there is an option format/SD card?
My question is that, will this format the external SD card or will it format the internal SD card ?
I want to make sure, because what I want to do is format my external SD card.
I tried formatting the card with my PC, the phone still can not see it.
My 32 GB external card , doesn't show up. Maybe If I format it using the phone, the phone will be able to see it.
thank you in advance
If your phone can't detect the external memory card, how can it format it? You'll end up formatting the internal card. Looking at my settings, I do not think the phone even allows you to format the external card from the Storage menu.
mmm. ...... I inserted an 8GB card in it, the phone was able to detect it, but when I insert the 32GB it can't see the card.
Any ideas what the issue maybe?

[Q] External SD card path

I am running CM10.1.2. I have been trying to backup my data onto external sd card using Mybackup Pro. By default all the files are being backed up to internal sd card. What is the file path for external sd card?
Also, when I move any app to sd card, they are saved in internal ss and nt he external one.
Any help with these issues would be much appreciated.
