[Q] What is your T-mobile Plan as of Now? Single Plans No Families... - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

So Basically I was on the
$59.99 Unlimited Talk&Text
$9.99 200MB.
which is an = of $69.98 + TAXES($10-$13) = around = $82 dollars monthly
Now I changed it to
$39.99 500 Min
$10.00 Unlimited Text
$20.00 Unlimited Data
for a total of 69.99 + Taxes($10-$13) = around $82 dollars monthly
Now days I dont talk that much on my phone, But I do use alot the internet + texting(about 6K txts a month) im not sure How I do this.
but I belive T-mo is giving me a bad deal here.. been with them for 6 years now and I havent had any good offer... you guys how can I change this or what is your Plan I've seen 54.99 plans out there I wanna make sure I get a good deal before I call again. Thank you very much for the ooportunity

I have unlimited minutes data and text pay 78-79$ a month.
if you go here http://www.t-mobile.com/shop/Packages/ValuePackages.aspx they have an unlimited plan for 59.99
if you dont use that minutes then go with the 49 99$ plan 500 mins, unlimited text, and unlimited data with 2gb of 4g
but with the value plans you do not qualify for a phone upgrade after the two year contract.

Value plans do not offer any "upgrades" the contract holder is paying full price for the phone just split between 20 months. But the plans is cheaper whereas the classic they get a phone discount but the plan is a bit more.

What you should do... If your a college student ask for a student discount. Or if your employer is recognized by t mobile you can get a discount. That's what I have so the discount basically covers my taxes because the plan I have is 79.99$. But before you get either one of these discounts check yourself which one is better. I hope this helps a bit.

Just an FYI, If you work for a large company that uses T-Mobile for their company phone, aircards, etc. You are elligable for a company discount. Thats how i get a 9% break on my bill.
I do FDOT Electrical.
This also works with Sprint, Verizon and At&t... :good:

How much added cost?

Hello, I currently an on sprint but am wanting to move to t mobile. My family already has a family plan classic plan 1000 minutes plus unlimited msg ($20 add on) plus one of the phones with the $20 2GB data totaling a hundred a month. would it be better to add a lounge to their plan with the s3 or go individual? I never added a line before and the website was confusing me as it said that I have to pay for a plan with data totaling $95 for myself? Am I doing this wrong? I want to add a line plus 5GB data which is $35 and perhaps up the minutes to 2000
My life for Aiur
I just switched to the value plan. Unlimited everything including high speed data up to 5gigs, plus 20 a month for my phone, two lines , and I pay 160 a month. From what I understand you can add lines for 5 bucks a piece on the value plan.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using Tapatalk 2
It might cost you a little more, I used to be on Sprint they good coverage but network is too slow, unless you are in a lte market, that being said you won't get as many minutes or data for the same price I pay like 85$ for one account and 500 minutes, unlimited text and 5Gb cap after that, if you buy the phone outright it would be cheaper tho, like 65 for the same amount of data and minutes, you could also add unlimited wifi minutes to your account, if I were in the market for a phone and good and cheaper data plan I would get the galaxy nexus for 350$ from the play store and tmobile 65$ price, your off contract and you have a worldwide phone as well

I'm on T-Mobile .. single line. Unlimited everything 78$ a month ... its the classic plan ... I think t mobile has the best pricing .. att and Verizon are way too overpriced and sprint internet is bad.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
The minutes of family plans are pooled. So if you choose 2000 minutes, it will be 2000 minutes for everybody. This means you will also have changed their original pricing plan (1000 minutes to 2000 minutes). This makes it a little more confusing. If you keep their original plan and just add yourself as the third family member it should be $5 plus $35 for 5gb of data (....I think).
Btw, Aiur is dead many years ago. Long live Sakura.

This must be a granfathered plan? I signed up for tmo a month ago and the closest classic plan they had to your pricing is the $84.99 classic plan but thats only 500 min, unlimited text, and 5gb data. Ended up buying the phone for retail at coscto and getting the $64.99 value plan which is also 500 min, unlimted text, and 5gb data.

Value plan? How's it work?

I'm looking at trying tmobile but I have a question. I would be using the Sept 5th unlimited data package and probably an gs3. Will I have to pay monthly for $600 phone with 2 yr contract for value plan or does it put the phone down to $199 and I have to pay it off each month until fully paid? Sorry not really sure how it works. If someone can explain to me that'd be awesome. I just heard that value plan is the best.
Search. The magenta deal days takes the $150 + full tax and gives you back a $150 gc.. It's posted on here.
The EIP is $20/month for 20 months starting your 2nd or 3rd month. Value plans are cheaper than classic even with the EIP factored in.
You can also just get the SIM.

Can you do this on a family plan while having 4 smartphones? Everytime I try to do it on the tmobile website, it only has some flip phone available for 4 lines + value plan.
Call them. Or do live chat. I'm not a tmo employee so how can I answer that?

You can compare the prices online with the value plans but I believe you would have to go in store to do EIP on Value Plan. I have a Family Value Plan that is 130 a month for 4 lines excluding the $20 EIP/month for one of my devices. So I pay roughly 150 before taxes but my discount takes care of the taxes.
We finally made the decision to go Value. If we went Classic we would be paying the same every month, except without having to pay an extra $100. T-Mobile.com's current promo price for the S3 (after rebates) on the Classic plans. The Classic plan that we looked at is $20 more per line than the comparable Value plan. But with the $20/month per line "financing" it evens out. We know we will lose out if we decide to leave T-Mobile within the first 9 or so months. Thats because we would pay the $200 ETF plus the balance on the phones.
Because of that we are going to every place we frequent to make sure coverage is good.

Tmobile employee here. Just wanted to put in my 2 cents about the Value plans. I personally think they are great but it definitely depends on your situation. Most times the Value plans with EIP payments comes to the same price as Classic but you will have a cheaper down payment cost (in this case free for the phone after rebate). Another benefit is that EIP payments that are on your plan are not taxed since you already paid those taxes upfront so the monthly price is technically a bit less (depending on your city's tax).
Drawback is pretty much if you cancel, you will need to also pay off the rest of your phone but if you don't cancel, your bill will lower by the amount of the phone payments after 20 months. It is a great idea to check your coverage because you will definitely get the most benefit out of a Value plan as long as you stick with it for your full 2 years.

Data plan magic time

HERE IT IS:
This is the chat log from when I switched my plan through the T Mobile website. This is the best way to get this done. Talking to someone on the phone is a bad idea because they will just try and word ninja you into buying something you don't want. At least this way, you'll have a hard copy of exactly what you agreed to and what they told you. Good luck.
!Fides S: Yes, the $25.00 per month on line **** is for the 5GB with hotspot feature with throttling Jacob.
jacob ******: so if I switch to the $20.00 per month unlimited data plan I will save money and have no throttling and lose only hotspot feature?
!Fides S: That is correct.
jacob ******: sounds like a good idea to me
jacob ******: and with change my bill will decrease by $5.00 per month correct?
!Fides S: That is correct, Jacob.
jacob ******: I currently pay $92.97 and that will change to $87.97 per month then? If that is correct, can we make this change now?
!Fides S: Upon checking your account, your estimated monthly bill is $96.19. With the change to the unlimited data, your estimated monthly bill will decrease by $5.00.
:good:
I used the chat option on the website to change the plan after reading THIS.
Were you also still in your contract per the first thread? One would think if you're still in your contract you would have no choice but to keep the price until the contract expires? While it would be awesome to us, wouldn't tmo be losing money in that case?
You guys also may want to check and see if you were stuck with a $30 charge to change plans. I was stuck with this when I argued my wifes data plan and wanted truly unlimited because it was the same price. They changed it, but stuck us with that $30 fee.

No additional contract was discussed and I did not do the typical 'I understand I am entering an agreement...' song and dance about any fees that would be charged. I all went pretty smooth IMHO. :good:
You need to be out of contract in order to use this data plan. Tmobile put me on a "bridge to value" plan until my current contract expires. It's cheaper than the classic plan I was on, but more expensive than their new uncarrier plans.

Not based off of contract. Its based off of upgrade tenure. You can fully switch over 18 months after the last discount you took on a phone.. So typically 6 months before your contract end date
On bridge to value you're paying $15/month for unlimited 4g but more on you're base plan than a full value plan

I just have to post my findings here.
I talked to Tmobile, and they say there is no such thing as $5 and $15 data.
They put us on a plan which is $100 for 2 lines w/ unlimited talk and text + 500mb data. It's either $20 to add 2gb or $30 for unlimited.
They did say that our bill would drop about $70 once we're out of contract and switch to the value plan, so maybe those prices pertain to straight value instead of the bridge to value plans..?

If I'm on the straight value plan now, then what's the cheaper plan called that I am waiting to be put on once my contract ends?
Edit: I think where the confusion is coming from is that they are calling the new uncarrier plans the value plans. When I check online, my new plan is called unlimited classic, which is an old value plan.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using Tapatalk 2
Uncarrier Value plan is 2 lines for 80+tax for unlim talk and text and 500mb 4g . then $10/line for 2.5gb or $20/line for unlim 4g
That's without insurance. Insurance is 7.99/line extra
Value plan is 2 lines 80+tax for unlim talk and text. Doesn't include data. $5/line for 500mb. $10/line for 2gb and $20/line for unlim 4g.
Insurance is same price. 7.99/line
Bridge to value gets complicated

Whats your monthly bill with 2-3 lines w/ unlimited everything?

So I'm currently thinking of switching to TMO to save $$$ but I would like to know how much I would save. I know the pricing from the website but not sure what it would end up with tax. So anyone with either 2 or 3 lines with unlimited data, text & talk. Can you tell me your monthly bill?
I plan to start with 2 lines with unlimited everything then add another once the contract is up with AT&T

Just curious, but how do you only pay $120/month + taxes for 3 lines? I work out the math to be $70 (1st line) + $50 (2nd line) + $30 (3rd line) = $150 + taxes & fees. Unless you guys have different pricing in S Fla vs California.

Yea, that's not unlimited everything. The 10 bucks per month is only 2GB per phone.
Unlimited is as such:
Unlimited talk and text: 50+30+10=90
Unlimited data: 20+20+20=60
Total=150
I however got a 15% discount for working at Pizza Hut so my total with 3 lines unlimited with 2 phones financed at 20 per month and insurance on one is about 170 after taxes.

...Actually, it is. It's just that after 2Gb, you get slowed to 2G speeds. (Or 3G.. can't remember which one..) You can keep going, however. They don't cut you off. The 'Unlimited' +$20 means that they don't throttle you after 2Gb. D'oh.

Well, sir, now you're just sounding ignorant. I know what the hell I'm talking about so don't you even for a second think you have the right to try to be condescending. If you read the OP's post he wants, and I quote, "UNLIMITED EVERYTHING." It even says that in the title to this thread. "2-3 lines w/ unlimited everything."
How in your mind does unlimited everything = unlimited talk and text with 2GB of 4g and unlimited edge. Is that unlimited everything? Does 2GB mean unlimited to you? How does that make sense, sir?
And it is slowed to 2G/Edge. YAY UNLIMITED 9KB/S WOOO. No. Edge is terrible, especially on T-Mobile in Florida (probably elsewhere, but I've only had T-Mobile here)

Uhm, first, apologies, I was not meaning to sound condescending.
I did read his first post, and he did not say 'Unlimited Everything at 4G speeds', and since on the TMobile site itself, on the 2Gb tier, it even says 'Unlimited' (just that the speed throttling is so small, they hope folks don't read it..!) ..
I think Edge speeds can vary greatly, as around here (Wash DC), Edge is only a touch slower than 3G speeds. (Or else, our 3G royally sucks!)
Bottom line, no one can touch T-Mobile's plans.
Just to give you an idea....
I have 5 Lines @ $110, plus Unlimited Data on main line for $20 and 2.5GB Data for $10 on 2nd line. Total $140.
I have five lines
Base Plan with unlimited talk and text $80
Unlimited Data 4 lines: $80
Insurance on two lines $22
Three Upgrades $60
=$242 + 18 tax =$260
$260/5= $52/mo per line.
Less than $200 with tax when upgrades are paid off which breaks down to:
$40/mo per line.
OP,
I have 2 lines, unlimited talk text and 4g, I am paying 145 per month, this is 120 for the cost, and 12.50 per phone for 2 years.
Can the rest of you folks just answer the damn questions.

I have 4 lines myself but one of them (my sons) is unlimited everything but data (5 bucks a month but part of a deal I got), the other three are unlimited everything and in the end I pay $170 a month for all of it. It should be more I think $199 but I have a 4G booster from T-Mobile because of a connection issue I had that knocks the bill down so I save $30 a month for using it.
If anyone loses signal in their house but has great coverage outside ask about a 4G booster. It's two separate boxes that you plug in, one in the center of the house and the other where you have the best signal "MUST BE at least 2 bars of 4G" for it to apply to your situation other wise they won't bother sending it to you.
Sorry got a little off track there but I'm sure it will be interesting to some one that needs it.

[Q] Sprint 2 year renewal

Is Sprint forcing their new contracts upon renewal? I have an unlimited talk text data w/450 mins currently, but when I was trying to preorder on Amazon, I had no option to keep what I have.

I spoke with sprint yesterday. (had the same plan as you) they switched me to another plan with no contract renewal. Went from $82 to $64 a month. Unlimited talk text and 600 megs of data. I average 75 megs a Month outside my house so this is a good deal for me.
Hmmm.. the $64 number is def nicer, but my data really fluctuates, mostly depending on wifi availablity at work and on the road.. I guess i'm going to have to take a look at my data over time and see.

How is that at all a good deal. U r losing unlimited data. I talked to Sprint and they said I can keep the same 450 unlimited data plan at $69.99 when I upgrade at best buy. I enjoy being able to use 2 gb of data or 20 and not worry about it.
I had the same plan, $69.99 + $10 premium data and $11 TEP. Sprint put me on the my way with unlimited everything for 1 cent more. They remove the 10 dollar premium data and the cost is $80. With $11 TEP it comes to the same price plus a penny. Never have to worry about number of calls or data.

I also was able to keep my current plan at best buy. 1500 min for landlines calls all other calls unlimited work unlimited text and data $149.99 for 2 lines or $75 for one.. best buy has never even asked me if I wanted to changeplans. And I have always upgraded thru them
I didn't have an issue. I ordered online through Sprint.
Overall, it would have cost me the same either way. Data usage is a big deal for me since I use around 100 to 120gb per month on the phone.
I may have 450 anytime minutes, but in total, I use around 15 per month, LOL.
When I was on a family plan and bought my note 3 from amazon, they didn't change the plans, all they change is any possibility for a employee discount. I went to my own plan and had the unlimited my way. Was paying $87.00. I went to the easy pay with the preorder of the note 4, so I switched to the $60.00 unlimited plan. I'd you want to renew the discount, they just have you renew it, depending on the plan, it may just cover the data though.

You can carry-over your current plan. I just pre-ordered directly from Sprint (since BB didn't have any left in charcoal), and I carried over my old Everything 450 plan. The only thing that you need to do is renew for another 2 yrs.

After a lil math
Ok I have been trying to figure out the best deal/plan combo and here is what I found.....
If you can keep your old plan and like please do because the new ones with contract renewal aren't worth it. Here is what I found and by all means correct me if I'm wrong on anything.
Unlimited my way plan is $50 unlimited talk and text $30 unlimited data=$80/month but you have the ability to upgrade after 24 months( it's suppose to be new it's not 18 months anymore).
So you pay $300 for the Note 4(if you don't do the trade in thing) +80/month = $2220 (plus taxes and fees that vary) over 2 years
The plan buying the phone out right or with Easy Pay is $30 unlimited talk and text and $30 unlimited data=$60/month but YOU DO NOT HAVE THE ABILITY TO UPGRADE even after 24 months but by then your phone will be paid for so you can buy another on or do Easy Pay again.
So to buy the phone out right you pay $720 (again if you don't do the trade in thing) +$60/month =$2160 over 2 years
AND to buy the phone with Easy Pay is $0 + $90/month ($60+$30EP payment) for 42 months =$2160 over 2 years
As you can see you come out cheaper with the latter two options plus you aren't renewing your contract. I went with the Easy Pay option myself but you have to do what works for you. Again if you found different info please feel free to let everyone know.
I kept my 1500 min share plan of ole

The thought of paying FULL price for a phone makes me crazy..
I was under the impression that here is some sort of subsidy that is given to them by the manufacturers for using those phones..
Meanwhile, I am happy ENOUGH to keep my current 450min/unlimited text and data plan with Sprint. If I HAVE to change plans, a big FU to Sprint and their lousy service and sub par customer service (In my experience) and I will just go with some other rip off company..
If you were a single user, and wanted to sign up with a two year plan, BB pre-order was the way to go. Traded in old phone, and with the $50 pre-order card, plus $200 trade in credit, my part at pickup was $49. Using the plan at the bottom of the page here http://www.sprint.com/landings/datashare/index_c.html?view=unlimitedtalk&INTNAV=eSLlans$85Unlimited, I was able to lower my payments from $79 a month (450min talk, unlimited txt/data for $69 + $10 premium data) to $60 a month ($30 unlimited talk/txt, $30 unlimited data). Can't beat that anywhere. I know it sucks for anyone that didn't jump on the deal. Right now, the cheapest way is to pay up front the $299, and use the $60 unlimited talk/txt/data deal. Yeah, I can wait to get a new phone every 2 years, so this one is a smaller hit per month, which is important. Biting my nails for the Note 6...lol.
Edit: I think I need to eat some crow. I just noticed the $25/month fee they are charging until I'm upgrade eligible. Think I'll be calling customer retention later this morning, and switching back to my old plan.

Yes all correct. One thing you left out is optional $5 month upgrade fee. If you pay extra $5 month you can upgrade every 12 months. I chose this option so I can always have a new phone every yr. You just have to pay the taxes on the phone each yr. This yr for the Note 4 it was $52 in taxes and I gave the note 3 back.
