Problems rooting
Hey. I've been trying to root my phone. But I even haven't been able to unlock the bootloader. The fastboot just gets stuck at waiting for device and does not proceed. I have downloaded and installed the latest USB drivers from Google's Android SDK, but still fastboot does not list my device. Any ideas what might be causing the problem?

Prompt please recovery from your archive in English?
Thanks.

It seems that the USB drivers of the device are not in the SDK from Google but in HTC's software.
i didn't understand how to "run the recovery bat file...while connecting the phone in fastboot usb mode." or "run bat file from desire vc recovery to install recovery.(phone in fastboot mode)"
EDIT: I've successfully rooted my phone!
Here is what you have to do:
1. Unlock bootloader (following htcdeveloper's instructions) - It took me sometime and i got stuck with the "waiting for device" for a while but then i installed HTC Sync Manager and i could finish that 1st step successfully. (When i go to the bootloaed i can see "Unlocked")
2. Copy the file "recovery.bat" (which was a chinese file "点我运行.bat" so i had to rename into "recovery.bat") at the root of the internal memory and i also put the folder "files" (which was with it from the .rar i downloaded) including: adb.exe / AdbWinApi.dll / AdbWinUsbApi.dll / fastboot.exe / recovery.img
(i'm not sure that is useful but i did it)
3. Copy the file "root.zip" at the root of the SD Card BUT rename it "update.zip"
4. Selected the "debugging mode" and "disk drive" as choice per default when i plug the USB cable
(i'm not sure that is useful but i did it)
5. I restarted the device and go to the bootloader. (Pressing both "Power button" + "Volume -")
6. The menu is : Hboot / Fastboot / Recovery / Factory reset / Simlock
Choose "Fastboot" and plug the USB cable ("Fastboot" became "Fastboot USB")
From your computer, launch "recovery.bat" file, a window will appear, press "Enter" and wait a few seconds.
7.a. On your phone (you should have now a menu in chinese), select to the 2nd line (using the volume buttons) and press you power button
b. Select the line where you can see the words "SD" and "update.zip" between the chinese caracters and press the power button.
c. Wait a few seconds, you should see some messages and then confirmation of the root.
8. Your phone is rooted, you can reboot and enjoy
Press Thanks if it worked for you!

Wildfire S black screen recovery 1.26.401.3 hboot 1.09.0099

Hi
I bought my wfs in poland (sorry for my english and mistakes). I have problem because I updated my phone to 2.26.401.3 in phone jumped message about new soft and I update. Now I unlocked bootloader with htcdev and when I go into recovery (cwm installed by rom manager) I have black screen and under screen leds are light. I tried this but this isn't working now i downgraded phone to 2.13.401.3 and recovery (cwm) still not working. I tried another recovery but no one working. I want install new rom. What do? Can I install custom rom without recovery? or any solutions of this problem?
I had very similar problems, and could not find any solution, so I created custom recovery.img with appropriate kernel. Download attached recovery.img and using fastboot burn it:
$ fastboot flash recovery recovery,img
Phone needs to be in "fastboot usb" mode. Let me know if you have problems with it. Works for me.

[TUTORIAL] How to Install ClockworkMod Recovery on wildfire s
I Hope you have SDK tools for Android, Java runtime, and HTC Sync installed on your Windows PC. After unlocking the bootloader and rooted your device follow this:
(Note: You only need to install HTC Sync for the drivers that come with it. But the program sometimes causes conflicts, so during this procedure, make sure it is not running. Open Task Manager in Windows and kill it. If you don’t use HTC Sync, you may also open Control Panel and uninstall it without uninstalling the drivers.)
[OPTIONAL] Update Android software version to 2.3.5
If you have a Marvel/A510e, It is recommended updating to 2.3.5 before proceeding (if possible), though you can root a 2.3.3 device. If you decide to root 2.3.3 now and install 2.3.5 later, you’ll loose your root, cwm and have to do it again.
Make sure the phone is connected in Charge only mode. Enable USB debugging by going to Settings > Applications > Development > USB. Also Disable "Fast boot" by go to Settings>Power>uncheck "Fast boot".
1. Download the official 5.0.2.8 image at ClockworkMod’s index of recoveries here: http://www.clockworkmod.com/rommanager/
Make sure you choose the right one for your device whether Marvel or MarvelC. If you downloaded the zip version, extract the img file from the zip you just downloaded.
2. Boot the phone into HBOOT. After it scans for PG7610.zip, select 'FASTBOOT' and press the <Power> button then connect the USB cable. The word 'FASTBOOT' will change into 'FASTBOOT USB'. If not, then either your USB drivers for the Wildfire S or Android SDK Tools is not installed properly.
3. Open command prompt in Windows and navigate to the folder where you extracted the recovery image in step 1.
4. Type the following command: fastboot flash recovery [image name.img]. For example:
c:\android\>fastboot flash recovery recovery-clockwork-5.0.2.8-marvel.img
Try the above method, if it fails then go down:
It's a full version, so just download the .zip put it in sdcard then replace battery, press <power> with Vol Down.

Iam russian... Use the phone flash tool intel v444. connect you device via usb. reboot rebooot rebooot.... when programm detect your device. check in "custom flash" option fastboot or adb. and flash ifwi file. wait min 15.... WHEN YOU DEVICE TURN ON BOOTLOADER CANCEL FLASH (PULL USB CABBLE!!!) volume - to recovery. open recovery menu and factory reset and cache clear. update with sideload and wipe data/ reboot!
@Andreko777 thank you, ill try it. Hope it works! But i think it doesnt work because, when i plug my usb cable to my computer and run Intel flashtool, it can not regconize my device. So i cant do anything else,........

Selected recovery,Gave me an error.
So,Now i used a Jellybean firmware on Asus site.
Used those delete userdata and cache and system and etc.
Then loaded those 3 img files,It worked fine in droidbot.
But when i choosed recovery,It gave me an error after some seconds(Around 20 sec)
Well,Then i thought maybe i should use kitkat,So i download its firmware on Asus site.
Done those steps,Used SD update,It gave me same error again.
What should i do now dudes?
Please someone help me its URGENT! :crying: :crying:
P.S:Errors i told,I meant that andriod guy resting with a red attention...
Steps i have done already:
Used With/Without Wipe data button,Then used fastboot erase system and fastboot erase userdata and fastboot erase cache
Then load splashscreen and etc.
With both JB-KK firmwares.
I renamed firmwares to k012_sdupdate.zip and put it in an external SD.
Any way to save me? :/

Total Nub's guide to rooting Qmobile Q Infinity & Micromax Canvas Inifinity

After failing some 1-click rooting methods, for the first time I tried to do it the hard way.

Did you try "flashboot boot twrp..." like in my guide or "flashboot flash twrp..."?
And which twrp image did you use?
In any case, if you can still get to the fastboot screen, try booting with the twrp image in Step 4 above (download links in the pastebin link)

Hi, "flashboot boot twrp" wasnt working at all, so i tried "flashboot flash twrp" and all i have is a bootloop. So after flashing recoveru i booted my phone to fastboot and run the command, " flashboot boot recovery recovery.img" where recovery is the custom recovery image and it booted into recovery. Then there is one more step to do that allowed me to finally boot into my os. Its working fine and i still have twrp installed on my phone
