default.prop was pulled from the recovery ramdisk of the JB OTA, and it has ro.product.device=EeePad.
I have got backup and restore working and it looks like CWM is doing a low level format so it's gonna take a very long time to to complete. not sure if I can do anything about that.

updated default.prop canged:
Code:
ro.product.device=EeePad
to
Code:
ro.product.device=tf300t

I have tried for several hours to write the CWM-Touch.blob to /staging while in recovery with dd
it always results in recovery not working, if I write the same file to staging in the same way from
the Android OS it works fine.
I think if you try to install a recovery or kernel with this recovery you will be ****ed.

does this give me root access on the tf300t and give me the ability to create a recovery method?
I am soooo new at this so please be kind
I have the tf300t with jellybean and I really want root access.
Thanks..

Yes. You can root if you are unlocked which i hope you do have.
After getting the CWM,flash the attached file from recovery to get root.
Reboot and install Super Su from Playstore and open it.
It will ask for updating binaries. Update.

Ok.. so I am not unlocked.. which means my bootloader is locked.
So the process, for me, should be
1..... download the unlock tool from asus.
2..... install/run the unlock tool that was downloaded
3..... follow the instructions in this thread to get rooted and create a valid recovery..
Is the above correct?
TIA

screenshots showing update size
from all accounts so far, the update has only really made changes to the kernel. so the update would only be small.
I'm stock so I just applied it and it seems fine. No obvious changes. I tried a USB game controller and it still didn't work so I think its just the volume bug fix (although there are alot of patch files in the zip).
I don't know how to apply it manually I'm afraid now we don't have the /sdcard partition accessible via USB mass storage. Could try renaming to update.zip, putting in the root of MTP storage, booting into recovery (hold vol down and power) and see if it can be applied?

You can only install CWM when coming from a Gingerbread official ROM. Meaning you have to follow unbricking instructions to downgrade to an official Gingerbread ROM, then flash CWM using that. Currently there is no CWM-flashable version of Bell's ICS though, but one will probably pop up soon.
hi and help please
5. Connect phone to PC and start root_P880.bat for this do i use mass storage or the LG software?
also when i run the root_P880.bat i get only fail and cannot open and acess denied in the command prompt
the cell reboots twice and then the command prompt window closes
i need help
thank you
edit : it worked
i'll keep y original post just to show that when you get this issue
just try agin and again and again (from run the app and reboot part)
cheers to you for finding and posting this method
Once you do this method is it possible to unroot without going through the unbricking guide and reflashing the ROM?
Edit: NVM it looks like you can do it with the SU app, it says so on the second last page of original thread.

This is TWRP 2.2.1.3 repackaged with the kernel from the OTA. This is ONLY for people on the jb OTA that have a "hanging" recovery.
Note that backup and restore of /boot (rom kernels) won't work. So after a restore you'll need to reflash the rom. But hey.. hopefully you won't be bricked
Of course, the standard disclaimer applies that you flash at your own risk.

If you were rooted before the update (I believe) the su files were left intact. You just need to reinstall superuser. I recommend getting SuperSU from the market. It will update the su files when you first launch it. If you still don't get root it has options to clean up and reinstall su.
With root back you can use the adb method; which is what I did. And it worked perfectly.

I would wait.
Since boot partition is not supported yet, you need to manually flash kernel.
So twrp didnt work on jb because of new kernel, 3.1 instead of 2.6?
So when twrp for jb, supports restore of boot partition(kernel), and someone restores to a ics rom, will the recovery work? Or will need to restore recovery too?

Yup I shoulda waited. Tried to flash the new CM 4.1.1 nightly and wouldn't boot. Then tried to restore backup of official JB and won't boot either. So stuck on Asus boot screen now. Weird, yesterday tried to restore to Hydro from official JB and wouldn't boot, so I then restored my official JB back up and it worked but not anymore. Is thus an official brick?

Initial Review/Impressions:
Install went as smooth as any other flash install. It looks basically the same but the screen transitions are really smooth (note that I have not installed any apps yet, will update when I do). The first major difference you see is with the camera, the interface has been changed a bit and it does look cleaner, all the usual settings are there i.e. Photosphere etc.
I haven't noticed anything else at a first glance but I will keep on updating as I go along and I will also do a proper battery test.
The usual array of Google apps are pre-installed, although now Google Keep is also added, default browser is the regular android browser though, not Chrome. The usual wallpapers and live wallpapers are present, nothing new here either.
Thanks for making this available so quickly

Flatline - Unbrickable Transformer TF300T - Jellybean edition

The AndroidRoot.Mobi Team is proud to present Flatline: Nvflash for TF300T Jellybean!
This release allows generating nvflash blobs for your specific device, making your device unbrickable as long as you have a copy of the blobs.
As a brand new feature, it will also enable wifi and upload a copy of the blob to androidroot's server. Later, a solution will be released to retrieve the blobs from the server if you ever loose them.

I cant test it on my tf300t since i done it during ICS, but it did work successfully on my JB tf700
So, having read the guide thoroughly, if already on the JB bootloader (10.4.20.0), is it necessary to update to the latest firmwares before running this or can I do it on 10.4.20.0? I note that the guide references bootloader 10.6.1.15.3. Also, anyone know whether doing the NVFlash thing wipes the user data?
Thanks in advance. Looking forward to running this on my TF300T once I get my ducks in line.
Wow! Good news .
Is it working with 10.6.27.1 bootloader, or will it work?
Thanks rayman, XpLoDWilD & Androidrootz team!

@rayman Is it working with the bootloader for the latest update (10.6.1.27.5 )? Or should we downgrade to 10.6.1.15.3 to be safe?

It is working in 10.6.1.27.5 bl....im on c rom
i have a question....what files should i save?
the files that was generated only have 11mb...normal?
once i get the files can a reflash the twrp recovery?
if i brick my tablet what should i do with this files?
tks in advance
This is really exciting! Thanks devs!
Just to confirm and clarify (for noobs not unlike myself), this does work with the 4.2 BL (Rom example being CM 4.3 nightlies).
So I'm a bit confused. This process involved installing a new recovery image. If my device already has TWRP custom recovery and CM10.1 nightly, would I just follow all the steps listed and then reinstall TWRP as a final step? I was concerned with the steps that involved rebooting the device and wasn't sure how that recovery image would handle CM10.1
OK I just did it and I got a 1.6 MB blob file...I did the wheelie and it worked but where were the files: Unlocked token, factory config, and bricksafe img files received too? They were not in the nvflash directory nor on the device, but it said all three of them had been received succesfully.
Edit:
Found them. Located at: User\AppData\Local\VirtualStore
All three were there
Another Edit:

I'd like to know this too. I think we can reinstall TWRP -42 at the end, but I'd like some confirmation by someone more knowledgeable than myself.

OS X is not currently supported. We do actually have a wheelie port for OS X, but we haven't been able to find a sufficiently new nvflash binary for OS X, so there's little point in releasing it. You must use windows or linux.

Yes, you can install whatever recovery you want after getting your blobs.
You are also free to install whatever bootloader you want afterwards.
The recovery is essentially CWM with some extras, so it should flash any CWM flashable rom without issue.

It works on all currently released bootloaders. If we hear of asus fixing it in a new bootloader, we will put a latest bootloader supported notice on the guide on the website.
Only unlocking the device wipes the user data. Doing the NVFlash thing doesn't wipe anything.
i am stuck at: Step 2: Generate wheelie blobs
its say that it genrateted the files and uploaded them but when i try the adb pull it cannot find the files. I tried both commands the /date one and the /tmp one. Also when i look a root browser app i cannot find the map.
Help pls :S
You can revert to 4.0 firmware via nvflash?
