Hey there, when I install Kiss kernel wifi doesn't work! So I had to flash the kernel that was inside the zip file, help
Sent from my HTC One V using xda app-developers app

Which kernel is the best kernel for this rom?
Sent from my HTC One V using xda app-developers app

KISS kernel.
Make sure you choose the correct KISS kernel for Sense ROM.

So which kiss kernel is the correct kernel? I even flashed titanium kernel build 5, but wifi still doesn't work, wifi works only under the boot.img that is placed in zip folder!
Sent from my HTC One V using xda app-developers app

I'm on this one : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=30185717&postcount=163
Use command prompt to flash it in fastboot mode:
fastboot flash boot boot-TK-USB-OC-VDD-201208042344.img
fastboot erase cache

I flashed the kernel, and erased the Cache, yet the kernel is so laggy and I still have wifi problem,
Another question, in this rom the app "adobe reader" has been moved to user apps, I tried to move it to system app using rootexplorer, but after that it force closes, how can I move it there?

maybe u flashed the wrong kiss kernel?
there are 3 different kiss kernels cm9/cm10/stock based and all other roms
for this rom ull need the last one

I downloaded the last one, yet still the same problem exist,
I flashed this kernel before installing this rom, but when I saw the problem, I flashed the kernel that it was inside the zip, if I reinstall the rom again with its kernel, then install this, would it solve or not?

You cannot simply move the adobe reader to system/app. Make a copy of it, then uninstall it. Then use the copy that you have to put it in system/app and put the right permission to it. But why do you need it system/app ?

Aha, thanks so much, just wanted to have it in system app, like official roms , then it wont be deleted again
Sent from my HTC One V using xda app-developers app

guys, finally i could install adobe reader to system! i extracted adobereaderlib.so from apk file, then i replaced it with the original file in the system/lib, then moved the apk to system/app and changed the permissons, then rebooted!

You need to make a full format/wipe your device system/data/cache. Then install a ROM again and also flash the boot.img that meant for the ROM.
If you have a right RUU, you can restore your device with a RUU which will format/wipe the whole system/data/cache.

Also had problems and crashes before like many people and after i change recovery and put leatest Kiss kernel the phone is reborn with this ROM. But I dont like to use data restore because expirience from before...
Step by step:
1. flash with all in tool TWRP v.2.2.0 recovery
2. in TWRP wipe all system, cache's, data
3. Boot into bootloader and flash leatest Kiss kernel for stock ROM and all other NOT CM based ROMS
- fastboot flash boot boot.img
- fastboot reboot-bootloader
- fastboot erase cache
4. Boot into recovery and flash with full wipe myONEv_RC4.0.fx.zip
5. CPU use min:768 - max:1497 - SmartAssV2 -noop
6. Install all your aps and sync your stuff...
I use the latest myONEv_RC4.0.fx all the time without any slightest problem, super fast and stable, battery perfect!
Lets rock with new base... :good:
Thx ckpv5, maxwen and all people working on TWRP

Hey dear developers, I'm using this rom currently, I have a question, in this rom the soft keys function has been changed (to go to option for a app we need to hold the middle soft key (home key) , for me the previous one is easier, so how can I change it? Thanks anyway

[Q] Display OFF -> mobile network shuts own

Hello guys,
i use:
Redux 1.0.0
32.54 radio
stock kernel (redux)
desire
the battery was a little bit draining for me and i wanted give the RIL a chance ( btw i dont know what this is (yes im an idiot ) and installed it. i also tried with installing a undervolting zip that is given on the Redux page .
and now when i turn on my phone i have mobile network but then when i turn off display and on again i cant get it again until i reboot
please help
First you shouldn't flash stuff if you don't know what it is or does.
Second you shouldn't flash ril's on gingerbread roms. At least that's the case with oxygen.
Just reflash your rom without wiping, this will revert the ril to the right one. This probably fixes it, else you have to do a full wipe and not flash any "random" stuff.

at first , big thx for your fast help , but i have one more question :
when i install the rom again , can i loose any data then :S ? (even without wiping)
and can undervolting have any effects on this too?
No you shouldn't lose anything except stuff on the system partition. So if you manually moved something to system it gets removed. uv kennels should not have a effect on this but kernel will be reverted also.

Lightest/Most power effecient ROM?

Hi guys, whats the most lightest/power efficient stable rom which will give me good battery life on desire Z?
I have yet to root im on 2.3 gingerbread Offocial
Try them all for a few days and make your decision; what's "good" for one isn't necessarily "good" for another due to each user using their device differently. That being said, I've heard good things about G-Lite.
Sent from my HTC Vision using xda app-developers app
Some that I can think of off the top of my head aimed more at battery/performance improvement:
G2 Slim : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1324616
EliteMod CM7 : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1246682
Though won't be much new changes to it since he's on EliteMod ICS now, which I love for the lightness/performance. Check the link in my signature if you want to try the ICS android version instead.
Virtuous G-Lite: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1349030
Kind of the long running 'light' rom for a while.
Ok
Ok so I decided I want to get the
Virtuous G-Lite ROM
But I'm new to all this and I dont understand what steps I should take and even what half of these words mean when I tried googling it
Can you please put me on the right direction ?
and will the Virtuous G-Lite support my UK Desire Z phone ?
Okay search for glite in the development forum and download the rom. It should be around 120mb. Then copy it to your sdcard. Don't put it inside any folder nor should you extract the zip file. Now reboot your phone into recovery and wipe data, cache, dalvik. Then choose the option to install zip from sdcard. Select the zip file which you copied earlier. After flashing reboot your phone. This information is based on the presumption that you have successfully attained root and s-off on your device.
EDIT: As you haven't rooted your phone yet I suggest you follow the link "minus" below in my signature. There download the appropriate pdf.

hokay
Ok im in Glite now and I dont see a android notification bar
like without one, i cant do anything much so i need to go to a different rom do you know any?!
and I dont want to do a kernel thing because I dont understand it and i dont want to brick this phone
problem
ok the GLITE rom is giving me problems because it wouldn't log in to my primary gmail account for the market, so I used my other account and now i get an error message everytime I try to download something from the market.
Do you recommend any roms out there or should I try Elite rom, but once again I dont understand this kernel stuff its worrying and i want battery life atleast
edit: I dont like go launcher pro it doesnt have the android notification bar
Edit 2: 20 mins later, I cleared the cache, dalvik etc then I went to the launcherpro site and got the latest one and my notification bar has returned (or just come) how ever market still doesnt let me download anything
did you wipe everything before installing the rom? you may need to clear market data/cache
settings>apps>manage>play>clear

I would like to try it but I dont understand any of the elite kernel stuff
you flash a kernel the same way a rom, just flash rom then kernel. elitemod cm7 has both kernel and rom
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=17219499
in the second post you will the download link
put it on root of sd card
boot into recovery and wipe everything (superwipe or fastboot wipe even better)
then flash zip
then reboot
sign in
reboot
your ready to go
Sent from my HTC Vision using xda premium
oh
Ohhh so when I try to install the ROM the kernel will be installed along side it right?! that means its going to be easier than I thought.
what is this super wipe?
yes, many roms come packaged with a kernel, some don't, some require extra packages such as gapps to be flashed as well. the link I sent you just need to flash the rom, all is bundled.
superwipe came about in the g1 days, orginaly by osaka. it runs a script to wipe your phone clean to help insure a good flash of the next rom. there are many variations but I suggest finding one that formats system/cache/data to ext4 as well as wipe
search for superipe+ext4 in the threads
and fyi fastboot -w is an even cleaner wipe but needs to be done at a computer and learn how to use fastboot

GLITE Has this bug where it wont show the notification bar on first boot. One reboot will fix it. Also glite is bit old in terms of ease of use(customization) but it is very good in terms of battery. Elitemod is good too.

Yeah that bug happened to me, I tried to clear dalvik cache and then I updated the launcherpro then it randomly came. Is elitemod more easier and more customisable?what android version is it? Because on glite the battery life is brilliant but it feels like I'm sacrficing widgets (power control), the quick settings I had previously and the overal look is quite 'boring'
So with elite mod would I need to do any overclocking what so ever or anything else? And how can I make a back up of my current glite installion and revert back to it just incase elitemod doesn't work out for me
well your first step, just like when changing to any rom, is boot into recovery and make a backup. then you want to do a full wipe. then flash the next rom
nik3r has made a couple versions of elite mod, the one being suggested to you is based off of cm7 so its gingerbread, same as glite. it is slightly overclocked out of the box and has just about all the options avalible for a rom of its day, far more than glite. as for battery life, if you keep the oc/uv settings as they are you should get just as good battery life. I'm a moderate to heavy user and I do just fine with it

[Q] HTC One V Won't Boot! [Virgin Mobile USA]

Alright, so about two weeks ago I bought the Virgin Mobile USA HTC One V at RadioShack. Everything seemed to be running smoothely after two weeks, but I noticed HTC Sense really boggs the device down. So I checked out the XDA Forums and found some nice ROMS for this phone.
Last night I unlocked my bootloader
rooted
installed SuperSU
installed Team Win Recovery Project v2.2.0 (CWM Wasn't working, it just didn't boot)
So I made a backup, copied the backup from my SD card to my pc.
Cleared Cache
Cleared Dalvik Cache
Wiped System
Flashed Paranoids JB Rom and Gapps
Cleared Cache & Dalvik cache again
Rebooted
Reached the Paranoid Android boot logo/animation
It just stayed at the animation for about 15 minutes then i decided that something was clearly wrong
I tried restoring my backup, but the same thing happens. Only now on the first htc logo that displays the red text with the "this build is only for dev purposes" etc... shows up then goes to the virgin mobile boot anim, then back to the htc logo with the beats and freezes there.
WAT DO?!?!?

I wiped Dalvik Cache, Cache, and System.
Flashed ROM you linked me to.
Rebooted into hboot/fastboot
Flashed boot/kernel through fastboot
Attempted reboot, and it hung at the CM10 Boot animation/circle thingy
Noticed I needed to push "AdieHWCodec.csv" to system/etc/
Booted back into fastboot/hboot and attempted to push it with "adb push AdieHWCodec.csv system/etc/"
"Error: device not found" - I get that every time I try to use adb.
Any idea's?

Either you underclocked by mistake
The way to solve this prob is to reinstall the rom, because cm10 roms aren't laggy at all

Its like this son...forget about formating the system, bla bla...just do as i say
1.go to recovery and backup your current Rom(if you already didn´t)
2.wipe data/factory reset
3.wipe cache
4.go to advance and wipe dalvik cache
5.go back-install zip from sd card-choose zip from sd card(Rom of your choice)
6.install zip from sd card-choose zip-gapps
7.reboot system
during the boot animation press down the power until it goes black and hold it and press volume down to go into bootloader
8.when those wrong images you see ends, choose fastboot
9.plug in your usb to pc and to your phone
10.it should say fastboot usb-now you can flash the kernel (boot.img) specific to the rom that you flashed before
when its done reboot and enjoy.
dont worry about overclocking now as these kernels are set to work out of the box(you can play with them later)
For easier kernel flashing go check this out http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1676686
Hope i helped.

Primo C on AOKP, want to Flash to Sense ROM

I have a Primo C running the 11/18 AOKP ROM. It 's running extremely slow and I'm constantly having to reboot. I decided to flash one of the Sense ROMs instead, but I'm not sure how to.
I think I'm going to flash Amazing Sense. Should I flash back to stock first? Or can I just flash Amazing Sense over my custom ROM?
Also, I have Titanium Backup Pro and I have backed up all my apps + system data to my SD card. How do I restore all of this later? Should I just restore everything or should I only restore Play Store Apps? I'm not sure what will happen if I try to restore everything and it starts restoring things like Bluetooth and the keyboard that came with the ROM.
Thanks
Flash the xtremesensex3 ROM.. You don't have to flash all the converters and this one runs much better. Haven't had any issues

Alright, I'll take a look.
What about Titanium Backup Pro, what should I do with my backup? Not flashing a new ROM until I know that.
Also, do I have to flash a kernel separate with any of these ROMs? I don't believe I did with AOKP when flashing from stock. I've never really understood when or why to flash kernel...
Hahaha well that's why its rebooting I think either that or your stock firmware... If your coming from an ICS ROM going to another ICS ROM then you don't have to re flash the kernel but going from JB to Ics you do.. but seeing you haven't flashed one as you said.. I'm guessing you have a ICS kernel as of now. As of titanium back up you can just re download it and then go inside and re download all your Apps?

Sorry I wasn't more clear. It's not rebooting itself. It just gets to the point where it's really slow and glitchy and I reboot it manually. Is there a way to check my current kernel?

So I guess I did flash a kernel because the Nov 18 date corresponds to the date of the ROM I used, and I know JMZ is a dev on here.
So when I flash the x3reme Sense ROM, will a kernel flash automatically or when I flash boot.img? Or do I need to flash a kernel completely separate?

Download an ICS boot.IMG and just flash the ROM and then fast boot flash the boot.IMG depending on the kernel you may need to flash a zip with it too

x3reme sense comes with a boot.img in the .zip. Can I just flash that instead of a separate ICS boot.img?
So I would wipe system, cache, dalvik cache, factory reset.
Flash the x3reme sense zip
Flash GApps
Flash boot.img
Also, what version of GApps do I need to use with this ROM?
