Induction charging with slim battery covers? - Galaxy S III Accessories

So, I'll be heading out to Verizon shortly to trade in my T-mobile HTC amaze for an S3. The development community behind the S3 is HUGE!!
In any case... I'd like to get the induction charging (as I've found with past phones, after about a year the micro-usb port can start to get shoddy). It seems the new cover issue has been solved (thanks flashcity90) for case fitment, but I'm curious if slim covers would inhibit the charging. I know induction chargers have only recently came out... but haven't been able to find any reviews or comments on this.
Something like one of these, that has been reviewed here in the forums:

[Q] Powermat Battery Door for our superphone

Hey forum!
Does anyone know whether there will be a Powermat battery door for our phone?
Could anyone confirm that It has the possibility to have it?
It would be a nice accessory to have this thing to charge our phones wirelessly
I already got the pad and the battery door for my HTC HD2 .. and would like to have the same experience for my new superduperphone!
There is a possibility it will have a battery door replacement instead of a case like the iPhone, due to the fact that the Atrix has a removable battery door that covers the entire back of the phone. It's only a matter of whether or not the people behind PowerMat actually design one for the Atrix that will determine whether or not we see one. Seeing as it's bound to be a quite popular phone, i can't imagine them NOT making a solution for it, but you never know.

Contactless charger

Any news about when they will be available?
No offical announcemnt yet but i am waiting for this as well. the verizon website does now list list an inductive back plate though here a link:
http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/store/accessory?&action=accessoryDetails&accessoryId=47423
I wonder if this would be compatible with one of those powermats. also i was looking and the back plate for the evo looks almost identical to the TB one, so i wonder if the powermat kit for the evo would in turn work for our TBs, any one know if any of this would work?
I've noticed the bump in the cover, almost like the extended battery one. That will be a problem because of cases and docks, kind of disappointing.
If it's anything like palm's efforts, a case would thwart the inductive charging process anyway.

Powermat Wireless Back Almost here!

I'm not about the wireless mods or shady paypal deals. I was looking at powermat today and they FINALLY posted about the wireless charging back for the S3. Here is the direct link. It does have a price listed, but it is not searchable to find a retailer selling it yet. Hopefully we are very close!

Edit: taking a better look at the case, I find myself disappointed. This doesn't appear to be a replacement battery cover, rather one of the old style case covers. Essentially plugging into the USB slot at the bottom and holding the charging essentials outside of the actually phone.
Thats fat!

Cool! Thanks for posting that.
that one is fat, and connects at the usb port, not at the two pins near the battery
Yeah that's why I put it in my post. I'm surprised considering s
Samsung and powermat joined up and powermat has that snack NFC replacement charging option coming.
Took a chance and ordered one of these puppies on the day it was released. Arrived today and it is a piece of crap. Very hard to get the phone in the case and then when I tried to remove it, the case immediately cracked. Stay far away from this one.

Poor man's Wireless charging Powermat Mod

********Disclaimer****** This mod is still in rough stages, but it's on its way, the concept works, and it will be improved.
I really like the idea of wireless charging. This was especially so, since my trusty HTC Sensation's poor microusb port had seen better days and is very touchy. Sometimes it charges and sometimes it doesn't.
I was encouraged by reading of Powermat mods, and also the thread about Moto X wireless charging
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2541433
I didn't want to pay $50 for the Incipio wireless charge case, and be limited to black or the pink, purple, red of the AT&T store.
So off to ebay, and located for $7 shipped a Blackberry Curve 8500/9300 series complete Powermat receiver and pad new in box. I can email a link if anyone is interested.
The micro USB is the correct orientation and the adventure began. Its 1 am, I didn't expect this to go super well and I didn't take full step by step photos as I was more or less just trying to see if it would work.
I started with the kit mentioned above, some sharp scissors, and an old HTC sensation el cheapo silicone case I hadn't used in years.
The kit
The hack
The final result-----------
There is obviously work to be done. I have to get a silicone case actually made for the moto x. I have to figure a more permanent way to mount the guts, I could take the inductive charging coil off the original plastic backer to make it thinner. But for now..it works.

[Q] Magnetic dock VS Magnetic clip for charging???

Hi All,
I have been looking at a few reviews of owners and their trials and errors
I would like to ask from those who have tried various docks and clip on chargers for the Z3 compact,
which of these would you recommend.
I am using a flap case with mine and don't want to end up purchasing something that totally doesn't fit
or completely useless in its ability to charge properly.
Could you give me some tips, ideas and feedback please??? Even if just listing names I don't mind
doing the search myself on the items.
Thanks!:good:
i've been using the Magnector since November, when i got the phone.
http://www.amazon.com/Magnector-Performance-Xperia-Charging-Cable/dp/B00JEMESHG
zero issues. i chose the cable over any docks because i wanted some flexibility in case i needed to charge in my car, or while travelling; and i also wanted to be able to use it while it was charging.
I'm using the Deff microusb adapter and am very happy with it.
I have it pictured with my Rinke Fusion clear case here.

I got it elsewhere, but it's available on Amazon.
http://www.amazon.com/Original-Pack...rds=deff&pebp=1421284468288&peasin=B00KNLFS9E
I am using the original Sony DK48.
Battery life is OK and i can make small charges easier with it. But the device is a bit overpriced thought.
