No boot after flashing stock Odin - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

Hey guys I followed the tutorial to flash my phone back to stock using Odin and I accidentally flashed the pit file along with the PDA file is there anything I can do about this or do I need to send it out for jag recovery? (I ordered a jig today to try that when it arrives) the phone doesn't boot at all nothi on the screen but it shows up on the computer as qd something I think it said NAND rw corrupt before it turned off when flashing

If you can get your phone into download mode by pressing the volume rockers and power button while plugging your USB into the computer, I would suggest trying to Odin flash it again. If not then maybe you do need the jtag repair

You my friend are officially hard bricked. Pit files have a very very very specific use, and flashing the wrong file in the pit sedition of odin is almost a guarantee brick. You can try to see if download mode still exists, but if not you send it oiff. I've heard before that a jig worked, buuuttt that was only once.
Good luck

Well I just got my replacement phone I guess I won't make that mistake twice. Thanks for the help guys

1. Pulling and replacing battery then holding vol up and down then plugging in usb does nothing?
2. can you just flash a stock rom from odin? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1350360

If Odin sees it, can you flash a stock recovery?
Do the OLED buttons light up at all??
If the buttons light up, it could be your phone is powering on but the display has died, would not be the first one I have seen ...
If Odin is seeing it, and flashing stock gets you no where, I am willing to bet that it is a hardware issue that software is not going to be able to fix ...
I would use this method to restore it back to original stock and then go from there. There is a video and everything.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1393938
This is what I did when I had that problem;
1. Plug phone into computer and open Odin
2. If Odin detects it, move on
3. Click PDA and select the stock 2.3.6
4. Click "START"
5. Wait
6. If it doesn't work unplug and repeat.
*I did this process 3 times before my phone finally booted up
it might work
i well go to the odin and get stock rom 2.3.6 but do i need a pit file and if so where can i get one
can i have a boot loader for my t989 and if i flashed a bad kernel what do i need to recover

No pit file needed just flash the md5 file found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1391174 (after you unrar it) in odin to get back to stock rom and kernel along with recovery.. You will have to reapply root with odin again afterwards

Has my phone bitten the dust?

Really hope somebody can help.
I have had a galaxy note 2 for about 6 months on Vodafone UK N7100.
Today while i was at work i felt something hot in my pocket, my phone was very hot (i was not doing anything with it) The phone was stuck on the Samsung boot screen.
After a few minutes of looking at this i realised it was stuck and removed the battery. SInce then i have been unable to get past the boot screen, i can't get into download mode or reboot mode. The only things to note. When i turn my phone on a red light flashes. When i plug my charger in the charge icon appears on screen but it does not charge.
Really hoping somebody can help.
I had rooted my phone if that helps (it did not cause this problem and has been functioning rooted for months)
Update
Just managed to get to a screen which warned me about installing custom software and did i want to continue. I said yes and it is now downloading something
How did you get to that screen?

does it get recognize in odin if yes try to flash stock rom and revive your phone hopefully u are not using the 4.1.1 rom better get a 4.1.2 and bring it to life :good:
if u can get to download mode now then flashed philz recovery first. After flashing recovery wipe dalvik, cache partition & then data reset.then u can flash stock using odin. try this if the first one doesnt work

this would be your last hope http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=32273406&postcount=5 follow the guide properly marked in red and remember to tick re partition in odin, if this doesnt work then your phone has been affected by sds due to 4.1.1 rom so u need to take it to service for motherboard replacement which is borne by samsung so no worries, and remember never to use a 4.1.1 rom in note 2 get the 4.1.2 rom or rather they will install that only this time and in future just go through dr.ketan thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1896696 here it will guide you perfect instead following some untidy guides

Thanks for the advice i am downloading the file now.
I did not manage to install the rom i suggested i was using so i don't think that could have been the issue. well your reply is quite confusing
1.did you manage to flash the rom with pit in odin. was it successful or you get any errors
2.does your phone start now
3.if not then your phone has died and it needs to be taken to service guys ,but just check what the status of your phone in download mode is it official or custom . if its official then no worries just go ahead and take it to service guys and tell them abt your issue that the phone stopped working while in pocket dont info them that you rooted it ever just make them blv that it was a sds caused by 4.1.1 rom so they replace it free.
i mean your motherboard
Sorry if i am confusing matters.
I did not manage to flash anything it was just coming up with failed no PIT partition.
Current binary samsung official
My system status is custom
Are these ok to return my phone with?
I decided to take the advice offered and download the recovery but got confused.
Do i need all of the files from that link or just 1?
I downloaded the first one N7100XXDMB2_Factory
It contained
boot
cache
hidden
modem.bin
recovery
sboot.bin
system
tz
None of these are the md5 format
i am now thinking i should have downloaded XXDLJ2_OXA_Factory
Is that correct or was i right with the first file. If i was right downloading the first file then where do i get the md5 files required for odin to do my factory restore.
Know these are very noobish questions just doint want to do anything wrong
In answers to your questions....
1) Did i manage to flash the rom with it in odin
No
I got confused which files i should be using and did not want to do anything without being sure
2) My phone does not start
3) When i am in download mode my phone shows
Current binary Samsung official
My system status is custom

If your phone doesn't have a partition map, then no, you can't.
You can try, as a last resort, using this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=43760271&postcount=22
I had a similar problem not too long ago (although it started with all apps crashing and then stuck at bootscreen) and managed to fix my phone.

EFS is a part of the system that stores your serial number, IMEI and everything related to your phone specifically. You are generally able to back it up using a custom recovery or using software on your PC while the phone is rooted and booted on the android OS. Since you cannot boot into recovery and also can't boot into android itself, I don't think you would be able to back it up.
If you ever installed a custom rom with AROMA, there is a chance you have it backed up already. But if you don't explicitly remember...

[Q] Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please help!

Noob here, please be patient.
Samsung SGH-T989D was running CM 9. Did a factory reset as I was planing to sell the phone, but once I did that the phone was stuck in a loop at the boot logo.
Tried upgrading via recovery mode to the new CM 10, but was still stuck in boot loop.
Tried clearing cache, etc...but nothing would work.
So I downloaded the newest stock Telus ROM, put the phone into download mode and used Odin to flash - however Odin failed.
Now the phone won't start and I immediately get the following message: "Firmware upgrade encounted an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies and try again".
I tried Kies recovery mode but it does not see my phone. Odin still sees it, but wont flash it.
I found this thread for the S2 - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1457458.
But I have not been able to find one for the S2x.. Where would I find the bootloader and kernel to flash as it explains in the above guide...
Or maybe someone has other advice?
Thanks for your help!!

All u need to do is download Odin 1.85 to ur PC, then go to http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/hercules and download the twrp 2.6.6.0.tar.md5 to ur PC, power ur phone on in download mode, the same screen will come up "firmware...issue", kids will do nothing for this and u will need to make sure kids is NOT RUNNING. Odin will not see the device if kies is running at all, now open the Odin program and connect the phone to PC using OEM factory USB cable, on Odin it should say "added", now click the box PDA, find the twrp file u downloaded b4, click on that file and then hit start in Odin, DO NOT CHECK ANYTHING ELSE... Let Odin do its thing and u will be fine, Odin will reboot the phone and u will now have twrp recovery, boot to recovery to finish rooting process

I wasnt going to use the files from the other thread, I just assumed I could try this procedure once I got the correct files for the SGH-T989D:
Recovering a soft bricked phone
1) Grab the Recovery Package, and you'll see a bunch of .tar files. Take a look at the names. You'll see CODE, MODEM, CSC and .PIT. Put each one in its place.
2) Turn off your phone. Enter Download mode by presing Volume Down + Home + Power button.
3) Plug in your phone. It will show you, in a yellow box in ODIN, ID:COMx (x being the number displayed, sometimes displays 7, sometimes displays 9)
Now here, take a breath
First try flashing WITHOUT the .PIT and re-partition. And only if it DOESN'T WORK OR FIX then you flash with the .PIT and Re-Partition ticked.
4) Once ready and done all your prayers, press Start. Wait patiently. It usually takes 5 minutes to flash.
Have you done everything correctly until now? Then...
Congratulations on recovering your phone!
You deserve some cake afterwards, and some rest
Now, if your problem is the NAND rw coruption, and wasn't fixed by the above fix, then follow these steps :
5) Download the Kernel. Flash it in PDA. Without ticking Re-Partitioning
6) Successful? Nice, hope is still present.
7) Flash the recovery package, following steps 1-4 This should fix your issue. If it does not, then :
WARNING : FLASHING A BOOTLOADER IS DANGEROUS. FLASH WITH EXTREME CAUTION.
8) Download the Bootloader. Flash it as PDA or Bootloader in ODIN. Without ticking Re-Partitioning
9) Flash the Kernel, as in step 5
10) Flash the recovery package, like in steps 1-4 And that will fix any of your issues
11) After you have recovered your phone, I advise you to have your phone completely up to date by browsing and downloading the firmware for your version through SamMobile!

[Q] Unbricking trouble

I have the galaxy m919, and had a bad flash yesterday. My phone is now softbricked, and I am unsuccessful in fixing it.
I have run ODIN with a PDA file and it did not fix the problem. I am pretty sure I also need a PIT file to load. I thought I had one saved from when I originally got my phone and decided to root it and put the Infamous rom on it, but can't find it for the hell of me.
All attempts to search for the files online just gives me .tar files.
Any suggestions?
If I was soft bricked I would flash the stock img. When you say bad flash I assume the process was interrupted. Go here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2336392 and download the stock ROM open Odin and select PDA and find the stock MDL tar file and select it, then put your phone in download mode by pushing (volume down+home and power) then plug it in you your PC. Make sure the com window lights up and click start. Let the phone reboot and then re-root or do what you wish. I hope this helps. Good luck

Thank you! I wiped it in recovery, and it fires up just fine now on the stock rom I installed.

Bricked L900. Doesn't boot. Odin fails 100% of the time. Stock recovery gives errors.

Hi there. A friend of mine gave me a bricked L900 stuck in the black "Galaxy Note II" screen. The first thing I did was to enter stock recovery, but a bunch of red error messages appeared (as pictured). Wiping data/factory reset didn't do anything. Entered Download mode without a problem and then tried to flash every single Odin firmware for the L900 found on the whole internet, but no matter what I flash, Odin ALWAYS fails. Also noticed that after an unsuccessful flash, still in download mode you can read in red: "sw rev check fail device 3 binary 2". Also, it is not recognized by Kies.
The previous owner said the phone bricked while receiving an OTA update. I have spent a whole week trying to fix this thing! I decided to ask for some help here before smashing it with a hammer.
Any help is much appreciated!

I have something that should fix you right up. I have to find the file so it may take a while to get back to you. I am headed to bed now.

I forgot to mention I already tried flashing a file named "fix.tar" that I found in one of these L900 unbrick threads, but sadly it didn't work (Failed to flash, like anything else). I hope you have different file. Thank you!

Have you tried this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=55712636

I tried, but remember the phone doesn't let me flash anything via Odin. TWRP simply doesn't flash, it instantly fails.

Have you tried using heimdall to flash? It is an odin link software that can be used on window, mac, and Linux.

Trying now. I have downloaded Heimdall Suite 1.4. After installing the included drivers and opening the program, I'm not sure what to do. When I go to "load package" I am unable to pick any of the firmwares I have downloaded. They are not displayed in the window that opens to pick the file (and I am in the right folder). Heimdall is new territory for me! Any suggestion?

You will need to extract the files and use the flash tab. Don't remember if a pit files is included in the tar.md5 package (fyi you might have to remove the .md5 to extract the files) bit if you need one let me know.
On the flash tab select your pit file then add a partition, then select the corresponding file. You will need to do this for every partition you want to flash. Once setup click on the start button.

Thank you. I have extracted the files but Heimdall doesn't recognize them. It doesn't recognize any .tar or .md5 file. I am very familiar with file extensions, extracting, flashing software, etc... but this is the first time using Heimdall and I am very frustrated because I can't make it work. Any suggestion? Thanks again.
You give up on this yet domenicostorino? Looks like according to your images, you just need to odin with an included pit file. Lemme know, I have a pit that works for this device, had to fix one last week. Your images are showing no such directory, so that should fix you.
Edit: Grab the pit from here Use it with stock tar and flash via odin. That is the one I grabbed.
Hey! My Note has been collecting dust on the corner of my desk but I haven't given up on it yet! I would really apprecite if you can share that pit file and some steps. So far, EVERYTHING I've flashed with Odin just fails. Maybe that pit file is all I'm missing! Please help me bring that phone back to life!!

Just grab that pit file I edited with, select it in the pit section of odin, it should check mark the repartion as well. At the same time grab the stock firmware tar. You are going to be doing everything just like you have been, just using a pit file and repartitioning at the same time. Good luck, just holler, I will be around most of today. I used this firmware with that pit. Firmware
If it doesn't boot, don't worry, enter recovery and see if it fixed the can not mount, I don't know which baseband you currenlty have, so that could keep it from booting. If that happens and mounts are fixed, then just grab the last firmware and flash it without the pit file. Here is the latest FIRMWARE.
Remember you flashing tar files, all three of them need to be extracted.
Thank you. I did everything exactly as you said but the pit file didn't do the trick. It failed right away again. Of couse when I enter recovery the same can't mount messages in red appear again.

Assuming you extracted the t0lte.zip to read t0lte.pit and placed in pit section of Odin with repartition checked, and extracted the rom to a .tar and place in the AP section then hit start. Should have worked or did for me anyway. Have you tried different usb cable as well as a different port on pc? <that can cause odin to fail. Also which Odin version are you using? I use 3.09 Odin. Wife's phone went on the blink last week because of a battery failure, nothing would mount after replacing battery. What I described is all I did, she is back up and running with latest stock and rooted now.
After looking at this again, according to the images on first post, you have the latest stock build NE2. I extracted the pit file from the wife's phone and compared to the other. They are the same. At this point I would just try one more time with the pit and the latest stock firmware. If that doesn't work then maybe it is just a bad eMMC.
Here is the extracted pit from wife's phone if you want to try it. View attachment L900_NE2.7z
I did try again many times using the pit file and latest NE2 firmware. I guess the eMMC is faulty. Thanks for your help anyway!

I'm having a similar issue. Phone was charging in the truck, came out to the Galaxy Note 2 boot screen with the green light on, once I unplugged it though, it just died, Any attempts after that and the screen goes fuzzy on me. I can only boot into downloader mode, but everything I've tried to flash via two different ODIN's so far fails almost immediately. http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-2-sprint/help/odd-semi-brick-t3082102 I'd really love some help sorting this out.
