Cheap Stock Batteries? - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

I was searching for a stock spare battery and came across these... they have the same model number and the seller says its an OEM product.
are they legit?
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/New-1750mah-...Accessories&hash=item3cc743585f#ht_2852wt_907

Good timing, i was searching for the same thing and saw this ad as well. Not sure if it legit or not... anyone order from this seller before?

I've seen lots on ebay that are excellent counterfeits, some of which work as well as the genuine part. For example, I once bought a phone battery that looked exactly the same as the original, except for the quality of the hologram and two small typos, and it held a charge better than the original battery that came with the phone.
So it may well be worthwhile even if it's not genuine.

Hopefully they have nfc support....

A wise man once told me, "You don't always get what you pay for, but you never get what you don't pay for!" $8 for a genuine Samsung battery - when they retail at $30 for a device that is still very popular, I would think twice. Spend the extra $20 for a legit battery.
Just my 2 cents.

Well I can always return it

Ask around at the other thread for the sprint 2100mAh battery if you have a cdma variant. Im using one now and a lot of people ordered extras over there.

i always buy the cheapest batteries i can find, you can order 3 or 4 and it still will cost less than one direct from samsung and you get much more battery life total

I bought two that looked identical to one on eBay. No nfc though.. I told the dude they were fake and he gave me my money back. So I got 2 free batteries that look stock with no nfc... beware of cheap batteries from sellers in Hong Kong...

I need a new ekstra battery. Don't care if it has NFC or not. I just don't wan't it to be bigger than the standard one. Please post some links to sellers if the above don't work.

I believe they are genuine because NFC functionality works.
Other shops do not have them because they are not sold separately in Korea (or anywhere in the world), they come in the box of the Galaxy Nexus in Korea. (http://www.gsmarena.com/korean_galaxy_nexus_to_have_an_extended_2000mah_battery-news-3449.php)
I believe the seller is taking them out of the box and reselling, thus why he states no retail packaging. (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Genuine-Sam...Accessories&hash=item1c222d09fc#ht_4850wt_905)
This is the packaging it comes in: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=20976912&postcount=213

I'm not paranoid, I'm simply not ignorant.
Batteries are dangerous if build with cheap materials without rigid check during the manufacturing process.
Batteries can explode, can leak acid and can burn. Is this paranoia?

Yes it is paranoia if the paranoid thoughts or ideas are unfounded,The seller on eBay has legitimate OEM battery's,people have posted pictures & reported they are in fact real yet you continue to bog up the forums & threads with this nonsense.Nobody cares if you don't want to buy one, nobody cares if you do.What we all do care about is information in these threads & on xda as a whole stays as clean and on topic as possible,we all come here for REAL information and stuff like this(That you have posted in multiple threads)just makes it more difficult to navigate & find what were looking for.My suggestion would be to read the entire thread I posted for you on page 1,instead of creating new threads with things that have already been or are being discussed.

There is no proof that that battery is genuine so it is highly unprobable that an ebayer could have an item before clove, amazon, expansys and other bigs.
As always happened in the mobile world most of the batteries sold on ebay before.official release are only facked batteries sometimes sold as genuine like in this case

Samsung has not distributed the extended batteries outside of South Korea. The eBay seller is FROM SOUTH KOREA. He is probably getting the batteries from people that don't need them and selling them on eBay. Stop being so dense.
Also again.. it's spelled "faked"
If you don't think they're real then just don't buy them.
Move on.
You can wait till whatever sites you expect to be 'real' and just buy it from them. No body cares if you wanna buy it now. Stop making it such a big deal.
Also, how will you prove that all the websites you pointed out are gunna be 'real'

Battery 3500mAh

I am very sorry if there is already topic like this one.
I found on ebay a battery that was 3500mAh or 3600mAh I don't recall exactly, but they say that it is the exact size like the original and won't change the size of the phone like the 5000mAh does.

Absolute nonsense. Every battery that claims vast improvements in the same form factor is a scam.
If 3500mah could fit in the space provided, Samsung would have included a 3500mah battery.

If you meant the Gold battery, then it is 3500mAh. I bought two and noticed a huge difference compared to my stock battery. The stock used to power the phone until 7pm with moderate usage, wifi and bluetooth always on. Ever since I used the Gold battery, the battery still is at approximately 40% at 11pm. The battery still is 2 days old but still, the difference is noticeable
can you guys do a nova battery tester run on those batteries?

Mine came with 2800 mAh. Since it's cheaper than stock it has worth the purchase. Don't get your hopes high with these batteries.
Your srock may be dieing if it's almost a year old. Mine got down to 1700 mAh and this explains the "huge" difference you see in your new battery.

I bought the Gold battery two months after I got my Note so it means the OEM is still at it's peak. But yeah, I really don't have high hopes for replacement batteries. They may have a higher charge but they won't last as long as OEM. Like my dslr batteries, I get more juice out of the replacement batteries but my OEM battery outlasted them. But it is still worth it for me. What good is a camera (or phone in this case) if it does not have power when you really need it? Battery life does not matter to me (atleast in my case since I could buy 4 to 5 replacement batteries for 1 OEM dlsr battery - the Gold battery however, is another case).I keep that mantra all the time and I am happy with it

Q: why doesn't the battery actually say SAMSUNG? the OEM batteries say samsung on them. Aug-31-12
A: Hello, This battery is produced in the same factory than the original one. It is exactly the same samsung part, but due to copyright and license complications, factories do not stamp the samsung logo on them so they can sell them to other companies as well. In any case,I personally own an s3 and use a battery from this batch daily. It works just like the regular one. Hopefully this make things clearer.Thank you,

I cannot answer your question except to say that Amazon has several sellers. But I will tell you this, QCell sells a 1950 mAh slim battery that I have been using for over a month and is currently rated at 2144 mAh. It definitely lasts longer than the OEM.
Before you buy a new battery, go to the Sprint store and see if your current battery is covered under warranty. I've had my epic touch for 15 months and my battery started to cut out on me. eBay. Just look for ones that state it as new, OEM, and list the model number. You can get them for as little as $12 with free shipping. Buy one or two and ALSO trade yours in at the Sprint store, then you'll have spares.
Mine's expanded recently, so was in need of replacement. It was easier for me to buy on eBay than find time to get into a store.
