Anyone seen gimmick five slim "smart cover" - Galaxy Note 10.1 Accessories

Has anyone out there heard or seen of these things. I was looking for a. Tpu. Or silicone case when I came accross these. I'm wondering what kind of build quality they have.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KeZJMJiu6uw&feature=youtube_gdata_player
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TF4bprFUwdE&feature=youtube_gdata_player

you dont have one? why did you call it a rip off then? just curious...it looks like a good case to me.

I have been looking at these and whilst I think it's great they are so slim I am a little concerned that if I remove the Note the back will be covered in the glue? Can anyone who has one please confirm? Thanks.

Mature name of the thread... not. Ask your dad to buy one for you and let us know what you think.

That's why I love xda. Is it wrong to find out if someone out there owns one and what its like. I don't mean ripoff money wise. I mean copy of crapple smart cover. Im not a kid and my dad is dead btw thanks. In the one video it shows them remove it from the sticky and show it won't stick to the case. So I'm not sure what it would do to the tablet pretty much why I asked.

No biggie tubgirl u just caught me by surprise with that. Sorry about being off topic but I guess I never thought of it being a big deal. A lot of cases resemble a "smart cover" but I've never seen one that is this close to being the same. To anyone offended I'll change the post.

The maker of the videos is located in Hong Kong, so I assume its a product from overseas, and although I'm willing to buy one I find it interesting, that the only place I see the Wraplette is on YouTube. There is no other mention of it other than videos. No place to buy it or a review of it. zip nada nothing.

You're absolutely correct ... but I have to laugh about someone who took their username from one of the most disgusting shock videos to ever grace the internet correcting someone else's netiquette.

Cool thanks for the info. Did u buy it on eBay?

I ordered the Gimmick Five a week ago (see this post). Hopefully I'll get the cover within the next week or two.
I'm just looking for something slim that will protect the Note against scratches while I wait for a better case. On the video it looks like magnets are used to lock the cover in closed position... I would have prefered an elastic band instead and not having the cover wrap around the edge to the back side.
Well well... we'll se what it's like when I get it.

PS. I've emailed Belkin asking them to make their fine Slim Folio Case for the Note 10.1 as well. A friend of mine has it for the iPad 2 and the case is awesome. To get in contact with Belkin I used this link and supplied the Youtube link as reference. I suggest everyone else do the same and maybe they'll listen to us.

Well if you don't want the bezel to be covered (I do) then you can just go for the Belkin Cinema Case for the Galaxy Note 10.1. Good materials used and nice finish I think.

Personally however I prefer the bezel to be covered (even better protection).

I tried the Belkin case in the store. Feels very cheap and flimsy, especially for the price.

Ok, well then it must be very different from the iPad version which I think has very nice quality. If by flimsy you mean the opposite to stiff well then that's a good think imho.
Brgds... /Tubgirl

So you guys are going to (semi) permanently glue your Note's to a case?
"Magic tape -- allows adhesive to the device firmly and removal the device hassle-freely without any mark of glue."

Yeah, no.

Ugh... this doesn't look good at all!!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f56AwD78fPQ
So now we know that magnets really should be avoided on cases for the Note 10.1. As I wrote in an earlier post I would have preferred an elastic strap instead.

Are there any cases for the thin 10.1 tablet available?
I'm getting my tablet mid of june.
None that I've seen yet. I saw an unboxing video of a case, but I think that is for the chubby 10.1v. I want a case, but don't want to cover up my little androids on back. lol

Oh. Okay
I'm going to go to best buy today and see if any ipad sleeves will work
We're probably going to have to wait until the tab is officially released before we can get a proper case but if I can just get a cloth sleeve now I'll be happy
Yeah, I'm worried that the seller messed up and forgot to put a 'v' after 10.1. It will arrive this week. Worse case scenario is it will sit loose in the case which can be fixed with some quick modifications. But just mainly something to have until manufacturers start selling cases. (Then return for a refund...)
Does anyone know if there's a way to get insurance for the device? (Will squaretrade provide w/o a purchase receipt?)

also hoping the amazon one isnt for the chubby version.
Cant wait to get this thing in a case...
There is a company making a Melko brand leather book case that looks promising, but it also is a photo of the chubby one. Ive emailed them asking if it has been redesigned.. Lets see what they say..
I got the Acme Slick Case from Best Buy. It's not perfect but it works okay and for 15 dollars you can't complain. I figure it will do me until some custom made cases come out.
http://www.bestbuy.ca/en-CA/product...spx?path=acafc0b74bca603fcb15b1e5c38b547aen02
Looks nice, but still waiting for some more cases
i ddecided to go with a belkin 10" neoprene sleeve off of Amazon for $8. It is a bit too big, but it does protect the tab and you can fold it in half, prop the top of the tab up and type in an angle.
I'm a fan of sleeves (as opposed to form fitting cases), and I hunted up one of these at Best Buy yesterday. It's very well made and fits perfectly.
Just got my case in the mail today, works beautifully. has 5 cc slots on side and a big pocket for whatever you may need it for.
might return this when Zagg comes out with a case (as mentioned in another thread), but for now this will do perfectly.

quietglow, thanks for the heads up. I just went out and picked up same sleeve, fits great and I really like that it doesn't look like a computer related accessory.
I'm the guy who sent his GT-P7510 to Zagg. Judging from their other offerings, i would expect just an invisiblesheld not a case.

Looks like it fits nicely, how tight is it secured in there given that it seems it may have been for the thicker version.
Let me know! Im ready to checkout my amazon cart!!
Thin book case will come out from Samsung when the tablet does

Looking for a new case(Currently have smoke TPU)

So, I bought the smoked colored TPU case because matte black was sold out. I like the case because it's small and doesn't add more bulk to an already huge phone.
My problem is that it's very slippery, I'd like something a bit more grippy but do not want the full rubber cases, I had a case mate on my old phone and I sometimes it was a pain to take out and put in my pocket, it would just come off of the phone..
The matte black TPU I heard was good, but will it be as slippery as the one I have now.
This seems to have decent reviews:

Thanks, but the jack info is a deal breaker. I use my phone every time I get in my car with the Aux input. It's my source of music, taking the case on and off every single time would be a big hassle.
If I don't get more replies I'll take my chances with the matte black TPU.

[Mini-review] Seidio Active Case for Kindle Fire

Just got my Seidio Active case to replace my cheapie carbon fiber case that I got for 9 bux. The Seidio active case is exactly like the Active case I have for my phone. Well built and great color.
The case is pretty self explanatory if you have an existing active case. You slip on the rubber polymer case and align the openings and then slip on the (in my case) red 'exo-skeleton' case. This part I can forsee taking the corner bumps very well lol.
Pro's:
Awesome looking. Gives a bit more bulk than naked KF, but I like it. Reminds me of a tuffbook lol. The case has a cover that has a dual purpose. A stand and an optional cover to the case. Great for travel! The color is just cool lol.
Another great thing is that the usb port is just clear enough to plug in your micro usb plug. I haven't tried headphones yet though. The speaker grills line up perfectly as well. And for the cover/stand, you can go either landscape OR portrait mode on a whim. You just pick it up and rotate it. No worrying about extra joints, wobbly mounts, etc. It's just a tab that extends out to prop your KF and works wonderfully in any mode. Being that my comp at work and my out let are on the opposite sides of my desk, this works for me.
Con's:
The only con for me is that the power button is completely covered up. We all know that it's a good thing to see if the KF is powered up or plugged in correctly or if we pressed the button on time to access the recovery, but being that it's covered up, my OCD-ness NEEDS to know if I pressed it correctly lol.
Anyways here are the pics....

I wouldn't ditch a case you like and happy with for just a new case. I bought this actually because the guy on ebay accepted my offer lol. I was intending to get the microshell Marware case but because the offer was accepted, I was stuck with it lol.
I mean I don't regret getting this. I adore Seidio quality. I use my active case when I travel on my phone so that means it's a must have/use when traveling on airplanes, trains, long roadtrips, etc. .
I do recommend it if they are on the fence. Totally worth the 35 shipped I paid. In line with my cost for the active case for my phone lol.
I like the look a lot. I wish it was somehow one piece though rather than two separate pieces.

I thought that as well initially. Having had a gtablet not too long ago with a good case that was attached.
But it became obvious why they opted not to. I mean you can put the kf in any way you want, depending on where your plug is. Perfect example is Flipboard. The app only shows in portrait mode and if I want to read it, I don't have to dismantle the darn thing to do so or use some sort of rubic's cube trickery to get it to the way I want. Just pick it up and rotate the sucker. Just perfect and simple IMO.
And being that it is two separate pieces, the cover is totally optional and not required.

Absolutely nothing negative to say about this case. My only real concern was that the blue finish on the corners of the case would start to come off after a while of snapping it in and out of the cover/stand. As you can see in the pic it is not happening at all. I like it so much that I'm getting one of these for my Galaxy Nexus.

SPIGEN SGP Leather Pouch Crumena for Samsung Galaxy SIII

I was able to get this from a friend because he doesn't like pouch style protection so he has given it to me.
I personally love pouch-style over cases so in my opinion, this fits well and is great. Only thing is that I rather have a fabric like the one that came with the G1 over this leather feel. Amazon seems to sell them for 29.99. I can't post links so please search for

No, the sleeve from SPG is tight enough where if you held the pouch with phone upside down, it won't slip out. Thats with the naked device.

the vendor I get fromis every_sell
i have been getting pouches from them for almost every phone i've had.....I can't find a difference at all...
I once bought a pouch for them and was about to give them a negative review because they state OEM....i emailed them saying I was going to give a neg review due to them stating OEM.
They told me that htc actually contracted with who they get the cases from to make it for the g1...so all they do is redesign it for the new phones with the same material and build quality, hence stating OEM
i would have given them a negative review it was cheap and flimsey...but It isn't....it is a little deceiving they state OEM when it isn't, but the build quality doesn't suffer, so i dont mind.....if it did, i would have given them negative reviews
thanks for that link, i'll def look into that in the future! like those G1 style cases the most.

Hey question for you guys who own this case. I've been reading up on reviews for the crumena (mainly on amazon) and there has been some complaints about the case actually scratching up the phone. The scratches are mainly on the side and more specifically the back of the phone mainly due to the ribbon.
Are you guys experiencing the same problem??
christian, I didn't even get a days use out of the case. After fighting with it to get my S3 to go inside of the pouch, I ended up having to use a razor blade to remove the stitching as the S3 was stuck inside of it. I was reimbursed by SGP.

Lifeproof case for S3?

So after going to my local ATT corp store and seeing this case it looked pretty interesting. Do they only make cases for the iPhone? Tried doing some research and found nothing! Only iPhone cases.
Iphone and Ipad only. I would definitely be in for one for the s3 if the decided to make it though.

That looks very interesting. I also like their roll on screen protector. That's genius! Anyone have any pictures of what the waterproof bag looks like?

Thanks for posting that link. I have wasted lots of $$$ on screen protectors because I never liked how I applied them. No matter what I do, i get dust/bubbles, and all sorts of other issues. That roll-on screen protector is going to save me so much money and pain/anger.
If you have a hard time with screen protectors you should go check out ghost-armor.com . I have my phone wrapped in clear with a second layer of white carbon fiber, they will do the whole installation for you and they even covered my flygrip in white carbon fiber as well
My S3 gets me Blazed
Otterbox is coming out with a similar case called the Armor. Its been announced for the iPhone, but if anybody would build a non-apple version it would probably be them. I would consider asking them.

Sorry for the double post forgot about this one haha but how well does this protect the phone? I notice most wraps/full body ones such as zaggs leaves the top pretty unprotected. Same with slickwraps. Any idea how ghost armor compares?

I see it as leave it at home or downgrade to something you can handle, not want.

Doubtful, Otterbox has their collective head so far up apples ass that it's not even funny. They couldn't even produce a case for the S3 release even though this phone has sold millions already.
I emailed Otterbox earlier to ask them about the Armor case. They don't have plans to make it for any other phones... iPhone only.

No surprise there.

They could easily sell 100k cases for the s3 (10M sold so far).
I would buy it immediately
I would jump right on that as well. They did have a post on their site a few months back that they were working on coming out with cases for Samsung phones. It would seem that the s3 should be at the top of the list when they do.
It would be nice to have for kayaking and snowboarding, nice for listening to music in the shower too!
I bought the otterbox commuter with an hd invisishield and loved it. Then upgraded to the defender and while I like the defenders premise.. I hate that I get dust under the screen cover through the miniscule opening at the top where the front facing camera and ear speaker is. I may go back to the commuter and hd screen.
