Sprint Employment - Samsung Epic 4G Touch

Hey question for all you under sprints employ. I am looking into a position at a local sprint store they are looking to fill. Sales/tech rep or whatever. I was wondering if any sprint guys would give me some info. Do you enjoy working for sprint? How is the pay? Whats an average paycheck between hourly and commission? How do they treat you? Is it hard to go to shool while working there? (Im in college) I have a fairly stable job right now but it doesn't pay very well and I hate it. The last time I was in the sprint store I knew twice as much about phones as the one guy and was helping customers around me. I think I would thoroughly enjoy it but am looking for the inside scoop...

Hey, I just started at a local indirect dealership 2 weeks ago. I'm a junior in college and I'll tell you that it doesn't interfere. Our store hours are from 9a to 6p so its not like an all day gig. This is an indirect store so sprint does not own it. We are like a liaison between customers and sprint. I'm treated very well and believe it or not, sprint does a nice job answering questions I have about sales, tech, markets or anything. I make 9 an hr plus com. And sprint has the my rewards program as an incentive.
I say try it out, each store is diff....

I wanna know too lol.

My brother has 7 years working for sprint and he really enjoys it . He's a Regional Manager in New York now and its a lot of work but he has never complained about the company and they pay him well too.

Sprint tech is an awesome job, if you know what you are doing. Also, the clientele of each particular store greatly affects how content you are in the job. I worked at an indirect dealer for many years. I loved it at one location, survived at another, and finally told the populace to stick their phones up their asses at the last one.
Most of the time people are cool, but other times you have ignorant assholes who can't understand how dropping their phones in a lake, IS THEIR FAULT. Sprint doesn't owe you the world because you pay for a service millions of others do.
Good luck in your endeavor, the only thing I can advise you, is to treat every person the way you would expect to be treated.

Every job I have had has been customer service so I feel your pain. But I am also very used to that part of it. 9 an hour plus commission would be more than I now make which is itself enough incentive to try. I just met and chatted w/ the regional manager and could get an interview quick. I think it is an environment I would thrive in. I have experience for sales, passion for tech, and am quite familiar with android software. Thanks for the info guys

That's one of the main problems with uneducated management in this country. They greatly undervalue the people who really keep the business running. Too much focus on increasing MRR can destroy a company.

The store is a smaller one. There isn't a whole department of techs like the larger one I went to. Its usually about 3 guys and the manager so its more like sales/tech...

As a tech, its been the only job I haven't grown to hate after a year lol.
I really do love it. Could the pay be better? Hell yes. But the benefits are great. Do I feel under appreciated as a tech? Of course. But silently knowing you keep the wheels moving is gratifying. The only part that gets on my nerves is inventory. Techs are solely responsible for that, and it's just tedious. But the actual repair aspect is cake.
The ability to get free phones, whether it be through the advocate program or from the OEMs holding events where they give them away, is the best part, if you're a geek like me. I got my E4GT for free 3 months into the job, so I was pretty much hooked after that lol.

Very much so depending on surveys. We are graded as a whole, so if one guy gets a bad survey there goes commission out of everyone's pocket

Sprint customer service

No offense to any employees here on xda, but wow. Some (97.996%) of the people that work there are clueless.
Walked in asked for the samsung epic touch dock, they talked back in the office about it. Came out and said this for the epic touch.
turns out no. not even close
Moral of the story, sprint, hire xda members.

Honestly, customer service related to anything (not just technology) is just flat out pathetic anymore.
I've gone to an autoparts store where the guy knew less about cars than my grandma.
There's no money in customer service so there's no desire to be good at it.

Hmm?
I didn't say that, just that it has gone down hill significantly.
Sprint's representatives can be pretty ridiculous.
I once heard A female manager at a local Sprint store related processing power to data speeds for the Evo.
Something of the nature of "The data is faster on this phone over others because it has a 1 ghz processor"
You could clearly tell she had no clue what a processor was. Much less any relation to data speeds.

meh I made 14 a hour at charlton inc (comcast/timewarner/charter 3rd party calling center)
But that was because of commision and I busted my ass for a whole year then the company got bought out and laid off all sales/customer service reps making over 10 a hour and went through a temp agency to get mindless morons with no work history/education or had a major criminal charge...
Without a proper education (college/internship) you wont make much more than 25k a year

I emphatically disagree. I was raised with a solid work ethic of doing your best no matter what job you have. I have a bachelors in Finance but work in crappy C.S making pay I'm ashamed to even say, but do I do it half-arsed, no.
Sent from my SPH-D710
Those personality tests are not that hard... The hardest ones are for at&t and best buy.. All you do is answer as honest as possible.. Most people say answer with "strongly agree" or "strongly disagree" but some of the questions are borderline and answering like a machine from irobot *(the ones that are 3 law "safe") will send a flag to the employer... And they will know if your being honest or not
But yes I agree, I commit my self to my job and try to learn something new every day (I suffer from sever ADD) so anything to keep me active weather its improving or learning helps... Rather than doing a half ass job and slacking off for 8 hours
*disregard the analogy if you never seen irobot

Stock rooted EL13 with 3 free months of Sprint's hotspot!

Really wanted to flash this ROM but didn't want to lose the hacked hotspot. A co-worker told me he got a free 30 trial, so I thought id try. After hearing "oh no we cant do that" twice, I was transfered third time to Alex.
I was super polite and asked like I probably wouldn't get it. He asked me if I had tried it before and I lied and said no. Long story short, he gave me 3 free months-until March 14.
In my experience, being very polite makes people MUCH more willing to help you.

Why is this a shock or surprise? Have you never worked in customer service?
Everyone should be required to work in a customer service type of job for the first 6 months of their working life. It taught me a lot.
When I was in High-school I became the assistant manager of the place I worked and I'd bend over backwards to help customers who had issues, but were nice. The assholes got little or nothing.
When I worked in a call center the assholes got put on hold while I went pee or ate a snack, and then the call would "drop" LOL, good times.
I only wished it worked the same for me with Charter Cable and Dish Network. I have gotten the run around a few times from them. I have nothing negative to say about Sprint. Never a dropped call, 4g since launch day of the OG Epic and great customer service.

[Q] Found T-Mobile Galaxy S3

I might be the luckiest person ever. I found a T-Mobile Galaxy S3.
Anyways, can I get in trouble for using the phone? Can T-Mobile somehow track the phone and disable it.
Thanks for your answers.
P.S. The phone has no contact store, so I can't really return it to the owner. The only dialed number is a company.
Go to t mobile store and return it. They will use IMEI to find the owner. If the owner report it stolen tmobile will black list the phone and you may not be able to use it anyway.

I am really surprised at all of the responses from people suggesting yuo should keep the phone or better yet, sell it to them! That is really the worst advice anyone can offer, what the hell are you guys thinking? It's dishonest and kind of sh..tty to suggest that they should keep the phone and hope the owner had insurance... if that's how you live your life, I am hope I don't live nearby you - - Karma my friends - the best thing to do would be to return the phone to any T MOBILE Store - what would you want them to do if it was your phone?
the poor soul who lost his/her galaxy s3 is probably pulling there hair and gouging there eyes out by now... so sad...
If I had found this phone, I would do everything in my power to get it back to its owner. When the owner finally gets reunited with the phone I doubt they would leave you walking empty handed however even if they do at least you know you have done a very amazing deed.
Who knows someday you may lose something and some generous soul will return your lost item to you.
Oh my feelings are hurt by all these strangers judging me online. Why don't you people believe me hehe
I think, I will just keep the phone on for a couple days and hopefully the owner will call
What the hell man, leave the phone in a T-Mobile store.

so if the phone still has a sim card and it works, just return the phone to tmobile and they will track the number and they could see who it belongs to!
do something great, people will do the same to you.
I agree with everyones (some) responses. I found a iPhone 4S with a pink case. I was able to get ahold of the owner (beautiful girl) and she cried and gave me so many thank yous. She offered $50 but i declined it. If i ever lose my baby (gs3) ...I would hope someone would do the same. Return the phone man..
My insurance was canceled....if I were to lose my phone I'd have to pay full price for a new one. I couldn't afford another Siii.
Return it to Tmo as has been suggested. To do anything less is theft.
If it was my phone, I would activate the mobile security app on the phone and track you down and then the police would arrest you for stealing my phone. But that's just me. By the way, mobile security comes free on most t mobile phones with the correct insurance. I wouldn't risk being labeled as a thief, even if you did somehow "find" it.

Replacement phone T-Mobile? Refurbished?

My friend is on contract on T-Mobile he got the note 2 a month ago and he told ordered two replacement refurbished note 2's then he's done with T-Mobile he ain't sending it back or nothing just done paying it and keeping the phones. I told him he can get into trouble for that he can right?? Or does it just mess up his credit? He did it three years ago and nothing happened besides probably bad credit now.
I know a lot of people on Craigslist be getting new phones without battery and back piece and I once bought one and it wouldn't read my Sim card because he never paid it I'm guessing.
The phone will black listed, side note I exchange phones a bunch due to defects or little things Tmobile is becoming much more strict about what they will exchange abs are now charging $5-$20 to process exchanges I wouldn't be surprised if a bill is coming his way soon

They may bill for a full cost of a replacement phone. I used to work for a t-mobile dealer LONG time ago (9 years ago) and they did the same thing. If we had a customer walk in, we process an exchange on their behalf. But we tell them if they don't send original phone back, they will be getting a large bill. And few people did. T-Mobile does work with them, and will take the charges out if you return the phone.
The phones will be blacklisted. If he sells them the new owner is screwed. Maybe he is Ok with that. If he is, find another friend as this guy proved himself to be a slime ball.

You ever see "bad esn" in an ebay auction description for a cell phone...that is what your buddy's phones will have. They can pretty much can be used as a wifi mini tablet, unless he is able to flash the phone to another gsm carrier. Regardless goes against his credit also.

Again, not true. The phone WILL be blacklisted and won't work in the country unless you take it overseas maybe. How do I know? I deal with craigslist people and ebay listings for a meager living.
Phones will be blacklisted with Tmobile, Simple mobile and AT&T he will also be billed $600 for not returning the defective phone. The phones they send him will be factory refurbished which means it's just the phone there will be no battery, battery cover, Spen or charger.

Its probably the same as all of the pathetic dead beat people who think its OK to steal and don't think they should have to pay bills like the rest of us.
He'll have bad credit (which won't matter to him because he's apparently OK with stealing things anyway) and he'll get away with it for the most part while the rest of us law abiding citizens will continue to pay more for goods and services and more to cover for selfish people like this!!

Says the guy who's associated with a thief! Right, so scums like him can benefit a small portion whole the rest of us decent people pay for it! Then you'll be back here complaining about how much the deductible is for a flagship phone.

What you're talking about is theft and fraud. You're not going to get any help on criminal activity from anyone here. Nobody is going to give you advice on how to avoid going to jail. In fact, simply talking about it could implicate you for aiding and abeting and now there is proof all over the internet. Good luck.

Wth is going to happen to my Friends credit for doing this dumb thing.

My friend started service 2 months ago to get the note 2 on T-Mobile. He has 360$ equipment loan fee still plus he his bill is $373 and he got three Note 2 replacements from t mobile and a iPhone 5 and didn't send them back and he isn't going to pay his bill what could happen?. I told him he's going to really mess up his credit. What could happened from what he's doing? He got a bunch of messages from t mobile saying he has to pay up to $850 if he doesn't send the phone back what's going to happen?

They will charge him the retail of each phone and through tmobile the charges are not reversible, with the obvious abuse they will report It as a theft and charge for each phone since tbe cost is going to be so high your friend may want to look into what amount is felony and whats not

first things first. your freind is young and stupid. not only will he have a strike against his credit but they will
block ime numbers of phones and they will be useless to anybody. people do things like this because they don't think long term.
let this be a lesson to you what not to do.. i spent a whole year repairing my credit because i wanted to buy a house and there was no way around that. he thinks it's nothing now but he will see how stupid it is later. and don't forget that any decent job is checking your credit flle before hiring you.. fyi.. same with car insurance companies. having bad credit can be like having a criminal record follow you around.
remember, how can two walk together except they agree..
find new freinds..
Yea he did it because he really needed the money smh. What's going to happen to him

and imei-s of not returned phones will be blacklisted and pretty much useless on majority gsm networks.

lol u again huh? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2217635
anyone else getting the feeling that "shaqqq's friend" is actually himself... you seem extremely concerned about your "friends" credit and what can happen. personal i hope they send the cops to "your friend's" home and arrest him for fraud and grand theft. he basically has three note 2's & and iphone 5 he feels he doesn't have to pay for (shows character) so that right there is close to $2,800 plus a couple months over due on service. just enough for GT of the third degree.
but unfortunately that wont happen... "theres procedures, we love procedures" (sorry, Top Gear quote)... but most likely "your friend" will just accept the bad credit strikes, whatever comes with it & live with his moral standards.... im sure its not the first time you (i meant he) does this type of scam. might get away with it now but one day you wont get away with it and get caught and thrown in jail... and we'll still be paying for "your friends" 4x8 box
just sounds sad. "he" needs the money? get a job... obviously he couldnt afford the first note 2 when he signed up with tmobile in the first place.

I think people just find it weird you are posting about it again and it has nothing to do with the Note 2 really it belongs in a credit repair forum.

Will if it is you and you're really stealing and lying why would you tell us the truth. What you need to recognize is this community doesn't take to kindly to anyone stealing from the phone company. not that we like them so much, but we like electronics and know that eventually we are the ones who will pay for it with higher bills, phones and insurance costs. The companies aren't going to just absorb the loss

Okay what could happen is shot credit, and he gets beat up. I say that because tmo WILL blacklist the phone. Your friend will still sell it, probably as new based off my take on the kind of person he is. So he then screws someone who doesn't know better, or gets someone like me who takes every penny I lost back one way or another.
He will also never be able to come back to tmo and will have all the benefits of poor credit for a long time, you know no car, house, credit cards. He will then die a virgin because girls don't want low life scum. Or if he gets a girl it will be a trashy girl and your friend will get an std.

If your friend really needed the money, maybe a JOB would be more helpful but since he's willing to break the law, a career in drug deals might be more up his line.
Lol y'all so straight up with the stuff y'all say.
