ArmorSuit or Skinomi Unboxing and Review (Update Oct. 19, it's here) - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

So in around 2-3 weeks I will be uploading a new unboxing and review of one of the four brands listed above. If you have an opinion of which one I should get, then post what you think in the thread. I am leaning towards the ArmorSuit. This thread will look similar to my other thread about accessories. Here is the link for the other thread.
In the mean time, look at that thread
Oct. 9: I ordered the Skinomi. The unboxing and install video will come next week.
Oct. 17: Unboxing coming this Friday, October 19!
Oct. 19: I applied the screen protector and made an unboxing and applying video. Now I have to wait for 5 hours to turn my phone on . When it is done drying, i will make a second part of the video. So basically, it will be one 10-15 min long video.
Oct. 19: Here is the unboxing and applying video

I use the armor suite its great easy to put on and smooth as butter. And life time replace ments u can't go wronge

OK thanks. Can you tell me EXACTLY how you installed it so i don't get it wrong? Also, I have dead pixels on my screen. Will the Armor Suit cover them?

They are my second choice. I just forgot to out them in the title. In a little bit I will get back and post what I will get. If I get the Skinomi and don't like it, I will get the Armor Suit and Vice Versa.
Edit: How hard was it to put on? Also, i have dead pixels on my screen so would the Skinomi cover them? That is also a big factor for me.

I decided on the ArmorSuit for a couple of reasons. I was reading some threads earlier that said that the Skinomi Skin's are beeter than ArmorSuit's Skin's. I also read in the same thread that ArmorSuit's Screen Protectors are better than the Skinomi Screen Protectors. I am only getting a screen protector because I already have a case. So the obvious winner is the ArmorSuit. I also read that the ArmorSuit has more items in the kit that it comes in. It has a "lint-free (lol)" cloth and the squeegee in the ArmorSuit is better. The cloth isn't really important to me, but I need a good squeegee. Both of the screen protectors are also the same price. BTW, this is my first good screen protector. Before this, on all of my phones, I had one of those 5 for a dollar screen protectors on my phone. So stay tuned for an unboxing and review in a couple of weeks. I will be posting pictures and a video.

Oh really? Thanks for telling me that! I read that it didn't come with one. I an still probably going to still get the ArmorSuit because it still has a better screen protector. If for whatever reason I don't like it, I will get the Skinomi. I am not ordering a screen protector for a couple of days so I will still have time to compare. I really won't decide until the last minute. Anything else you want to tell me about the Skinomi? Also, was it hard to install it? How does it look? Does it cover dead pixels?

Wasn't hard to install at all, comes with a spray that you spray it with, no bubbles at all, I can't even tell it is on there, except where my case pulled it up on a side a little. good thing with them, is that there is a lifetime replacement on them.
AS for the dead pixels, I am not sure anything will cover that, I am not sure what you are expecting there.

how does the lifetime replacements work with armor suit? like what do i have to do to get another one. I have one on my S2 and i love it but i recently got a smudge of gorilla glue on it and i just ordered some more screen protectors off of amazon, the "RND Power Solutions Ultra Crystal Clear Screen Protector" to be exact. they have good reviews so i just went with them and plus you get 3 of them

I believe warranty is same as zagg. Contact them, tell them it failed. They send new one, and ask you send the old one back.

lol they are both the same ive had ArmorSuit and it is an no go with a case it comes off on the side also ArmorSuit didnt fit 100 i think it had some slag coming off the side might had been the reason for it not staying other then that i liked that it was removeale but really unless the screen protector can give more then just protect its not needed on s2 or s3 well unless you drop or just stab with a blade
i would want if it can give us no oil or other thing that make us have to wipe or clean the screen after talking

[Q] Scratched Screen Repair?

I don't really know how, but on my screen I have a bunch of scratches all in one area and one of them is deep enough to feel my fingernail with. Obviously that deep scratch can't be fixed, but is there any polish or something that can help remove these scratches? They're very annoying to glance at when at a certain angle, and although a glass replacement would be nice, I don't think that's covered by warranty (I'm non-rooted, so haven't voided it), and a glass replacement could potentially cause problems with the display not being placed right or not being as responsive.
Any suggestions? Thanks.
Dont buy any scratch removers, all BS. And dont worry about them
Seriously though, buy a nice sgp glas protector, or sgp normal screen protector. Or live with the chance it could get scratched again before you decide to sell it and get an iphone

Do you have any screen protectors to recommend? I want one that doesn't change the feel of the glass but idk really if that's possible. I'm kinda interested in the skins but they always have little cutouts for the menu and back button and I never have them lit up so it looks stupid.

There is this protector made from glass by thr company spigen sgp glas for the gs3 (I dont have this), and I have used many other protectors, but to me spigen has the best, spigen spg crystal clear. I love it (as much as I can without it being the real screen). Itd a dry apply, and I have never gotten a bubble, my second one now, they give you 3 in a pack and hold up pretty well. Id link, but im at my friends body shop, about to get my car looked at.

Yeah dont use polishes. I had some scratches and it actually made my screen look worse. Not that it made scratches worse but where i rubbed it looks different than the rest of the screen lol dumb mistake i shoulda just left it alone.

I use XO Skins. I still need to do a review on my SGS 3, just trying to find a case I like to go with it. The one I did on my nexus has a video that shows them filling the scratches in.
You could also try using a lens restore kit from a autoparts store to buff them down, but that may screw up the coating, never tried it.

I was thinking about a Spigen Screen protector. I think that the clear one for the GNote 10.1 is actually called Spigen Ultra Crystal (and not "Ultra Clear").
There's also a "Matte" version that is called Ultra Fine (Anti-Fingerprint)
I've read good reviews about the latter one here but I haven't bought it (yet).
Spigen page for the GNote 10.1 is here
Most Official accessories SUCK.
Learned it the hard way with the Asus Transformer TF101. The official case was twice the price, and a QUARTER of the quality of the AFTER MARKET cases.

Yes, please do tell of your experience in any way you can.
I'll post your review link in the OP.
The re-designed Ghost Armor screen protectors work perfectly. Have had one on mine for over a week now. I am drawing on my Note daily and there are no scratches on the protector at all. I got the full body shield so it was a little expensive, but I just like their product and have it on all of my devices. I've seen a few posts here mention that Ghost Armor on the original Note phone was no good and scratched easily. If you decide to go with Ghost Armor, make sure it is the NEW version if you're ordering from a kiosk. I also waited the painstakingly long 48 hours before using a pen on the screen.
clearplex
I used the clearplex screen protector and they are very nice. They boast that they are like zagg invi shield and protects the screen from breaks and stuff. They use the same material they use for car windshields. They have excellent customer service because I had a problem installing it because of my own mistake and i called them and they happily sent me a new one. (They have a 1 year warranty on the protector.) $19 is a very cheap price.
It feels like glass, looks like glass. And installation is very easy, you dont have to worry about the air bubbles that normal screen protectors have. i give it 9/10. -1 point because it takes a few days before the streaking fades away and you had to use the squeegee to maintain the bond for a few days. Other than that, I am pretty happy with this

I never got ghost armor before and am considering it. Can they put it on at the kiosk the same day you come in or do you need to leave your device there?
Could the people who post recommendations please write a bit about how and what they use the tab for! This will be helpful for users in similar scenario to decide which one to go for that suits their specific use needs.
For example;
Screen protector name, price and possible link -

Etc,

As long as they have the protector there at the kiosk they can put it on the same day you go in. It took about 45 minutes for them to install mine because after they put it on they place it in a heat box to help it dry faster. If they don't have the protector they will order it and call you when it's in. I had to do that once and it took about 7 days to get there since my kiosk only gets shipments once a week.

I agree, a lot of the posts here just mention that the screen protector is "good". But neglects to describe the S-PEN experience with it.
The S-PEN functionality is the purpose of this thread so it's important to comment on that, before I can post it to the OP.

Best Screen Protector?

Can someone please tell me what the best screen protector is for the One?
Cheers
You can't go wrong with ZAGG, Skinomi or Ghost Armor. Ghost Armor is my favorite but I paid priority mail and it got lost in the mail. It shipped on 4/9 and USPS has the screen protector on transit. I had to beg to get the shipping refunded and it took several days of voice messages and emails for anyone to get back to me. I asked them to send me a new one but fed ex it for free and they wouldn't. I was disappointed with that decision. I think each company has a Facebook page and you can see what people say about the screen protectors.
any had any experience with the mediadevil ones?
Anyone have experience with the AT&T ones for $10?
SPG's are the best I've seen reviewed and used. There is one model for the One right now, but they usually have 2 or 3 different ones for each phone (for different functions).
I used the Official HTC protectors and i found that the edges never stay stuck down properly and bubble up. Ive now changed it to a FoneM8 one and it fits perfectly, no bubbles and the surface is smooth.
I went with some cheaper ones because their reviews on other phones have been really good as far as I can tell. Their the Fosmon Crystal Clear, I'll post when I get my phone and give it a try but they were $2 shipped for 3 protectors and arrived in 4 days.
Edit : Oh and it doesn't come with a squeegee but a credit card or whatever will work. Definitely recommend the hinge method!

I'm against wet installs, zagg, skinomi, best skin ever.... I won't do them. I don't trust the liquid application. Plus they always seem to have a grippy feel, I like the feeling of glass, like the spg ultra crystal.

I highly suggest anything that is not a ZAGG Invisible Shield.
The texture is incredibly rough and compared to a more standard screen protector, harder to use on the phone. Plus, depending on what kind of case you use, it's prone to peeling on the edges.

I stopped trusting facebook pages for companies. Several times I posted negative information on comments on different company's pages, mostly because it was near impossible to get a hold of anyone, and my post was quickly deleted without any notice to me. I say this should be illegal as it takes away my freedom of speech on the page, but whatever... Not a fight I wanna take

I don't know why people like zagg. There are so many better options out there. Zagg feels "rubbery" and I know the orange peel look has been a bit better but it still looks like crap to me. Something like spg ultra clear is what I call the perfect screen protector for any device. It's almost invisible and feels pretty much like a naked screen. Not to mention zagg is a wet install.

Yeah, they manufactured it previously, but there were some problems with capacitive button response. I have my doubts that they will make a version that works. Seems like the button sensitivity on the One is just a little on the weak side.

Thanks, just ordered 1.
If XtremeGuards weren't being offered at "70-90% off", that would be news lol.

Me too. I went with the full body for 6 bucks shipped. Should hold me over while I wait until August for all those damn cases. Lol

We do have gorilla glass this time around, right? I know it's not bulletproof by any means but my first N7 scratched super easy since it was lacking good glass.
Cool just ordered 3 full protections for $10 shipped. I always mess up these wet installs so I always buy extras lol.

I believe you're correct, but man, these Nexus devices are too sexy. I've had GG get the micro scratches before... Really sad day.

Got 3, thanks

Got three full body. A big thanks!
Hopefully they ship soon. I don't want to take the clear sleeve off until I get a screen protector on it. Man I love this tablet. Even more than the original.
Nice find! Thanks
There is also currently a "80off2" coupon code.

Any recent reviews for this protector? I really just hope sgp comes out with one, but.....really want to get something on the screen before my son scratches it
Order a full body protector, love this brand of screen protector. Doesn't have any orange peel effect and always stay on for a long time. Had one on my N4 and it's last about 6 months before the corners start to peel up. Couldn't even get 2 months with zagg protector.
Last weekend I installed an extreme guard screen protector on my wife's Galaxy S3 and it was a total PITA. This is a "wet" application, so you have have to wet the device and dunk the screen protector in water. The screen protector is so floppy that alignment is difficult. I reapplied it 3-4 times. I couldn't get all the bubbles out, but 95% of them disappeared after 12 hours. Unfortunately 2-3 lint pieces got in during all that reapplying. I had a similar experience with Zagg installs. There's a video on the page (look for "Installation Instructions" tab in middle-center of the page). The material has a rubbery feel, which people either love or hate.

Here is Zagg's instructions, which will be similar to Extreme Guard. Extreme Guards don't come with a spray mentioned in the Zagg instructions.

How does the full body protector feel when holding the N4? I'm curious as to how it would feel on a tablet

On my N4 it feels great. Has a nice smooth texture, just enough to give some added grip to an extremely slippery phone. I don't think it adds to much bulk either but I don't use a case, so if it does I don't notice it. Also provides some grip when laying the phone down on a table and trying to use it.
Any idea on shipping times for this? (or has anyone gotten any shipping notices)

zagg or not?

So Ive used zagg since I had an iPhone, a Galaxy S3 and now when I get the Nexus, I would like to apply a screen protector to that as well.
Should I just go with the Zagg or this:

depending on how you carry your phone around i think your way more likely to shatter your screen then scratch it. I kept my s2 in my pocket and never had a screen protector. after 2 years the screen still has no scratches.

I am way more likely to shatter the screen than scratch it, yes. Also it is very important to me to not feel anything on the screen and that the case will be as invisible as possible.

Mine will be arriving next week. I have always used them. I am sure there are cheaper alternatives but I have never had a problem and don't like change.

I couldn't find any pictures on their site, do they have cutouts for everything?
Dont get a Zagg, they almost always orangepeel and are overpriced. Check out Spigen screen protectors, they have some of the best screen protectors i have ever used. I got got one for my Nexus 5 and cant even tell there is on on my screen. You can get a 3 pack from them for less than 1 Zagg

The invisibleshield never had an orangepeel effect. I think that feel belongs to the older versions of Zagg.
Anyway, from my experience I went with Zagg. Just bought the screen protector. If I won't like it I can always ask for a refund, their customer service is amazing. Also, if anything peels off or the installation isn't going smooth they can always replace my screen protector for free.
If I won't like it I'll go with the glas.tr by spigen.
Thanks everyone.
I have a zagg invishield on day of purchase cracking protected action and covers well. I applied and left the phone for 24 hours . I have some spigen too and there now just sat in the box lol.

Why not just get a screen protector from xtremeguard for under $2
I cannot stand the sticky/gummy feel of Zaggs. For that type of protection, I go with Clearplex. Right now, I have a not-quite-faulty Spigen glas.TR on mine while I wait on the replacement Nano glas to come in.
Never really like Zagg, there more pro apple imo. But thats not the reason I dont like them...I hate the orange peal looking and sticky texture I get from there screen protectors!
Ordered a Zagg. They have always done fine by me.

There are cutouts in the picture for the speaker, prox sensor. Although rumor has it that the 3 pack on amazon by Spigen for $15 its just like a flat deal with no cutouts and works fine. Go with what you trust and what you think is right and will work for you.
I don't like Zagg. I used Invisishield on a lumia800 and it had horrendous amounts of orange peel. Also, I was not a fan of the feel because it didn't feel smooth. They are not very forgiving if you are not good at applying them correctly the first time. I RMA'd one because it got some scratch on it and while they did send me the replacement, they said they never received my original protector and charged me the amount for a new invisishield. It's their fault for not providing me with a tracking number on their return packaging that it got lost. I've used dry application screen protectors since and they are visually better looking as well as they feel better.
I find Zaggs texture to be... Weird. I'd go for Skinomi. Smooth and doesn't have the orange peel effect that most wet application screen protectors have

I got Spigen Protector Steinheil. My first time using. Cheap and I'm more than happy with it

If I play games on my phone, I can't use a Zagg. The sticky gummieness doesn't let my finger slide on the screen, it's tries to skip across instead.
Zagg is garbage in my opinion. I never had one I kept on more than a few days. I in general don't like screen protectors. If I did use one though the only company I liked was clear-coat.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using xda app-developers app
My only complaint about zagg (and most wet application screen protectors) is that over time, if you were jeans, the screen protector will turn blue. It's easier to notice on a phone with a white front, but it sucks to know that it's happening nevertheless. Be prepared for that if you plan to invest in one of these.
