did that, got the incorrect credentials at first then copy/pasted the pass over to the app and it seems to be going through...

Try clearing application cache (and if that doesn't work, data also) in settings -> applications.

Reboot your phone and see if it still is happening (I'm assuming you've already done that).
After a bit more research, the original error is relatively common and has a simple solution (see post #4. All you have to do is remove your google account (in settings), then open the play store (it'll give you errors about no account on the phone). Then you can go back and re-add your account. This should clear the original error code.
The second error code probably is due to the fact that you're on 3G. According to other users, sometimes the play store has connectivity issues over 3G (especially is the service is spotty). And apparently it's a known issue on the entire continent of Australia (look at "Downloading, installing and updating apps" and "[#7041453] Australian users: errors 927 and 495"). Just fixed a small bug where you would get both a mention and a quote email if you were mentioned and quoted. It will only send out one quote email.
This is great! @conantroutman and @M_T_M will be so pleased!
Shame it only works on the new theme, though. Ah well. It's a cool feature anyway!

Hmm, I had thought about that, but I thought that if you follow a large thread with lots of replies you may still want to be notified if you are mentioned explicitly.

Yeah.... pretty obvious you installed a 'cracked' apk. I am fairly certain the app in question is actually Swiftkey. I wish you luck in whatever you decide to do with the cracked app.
Oh... and a spyware scan won't come up with anything really... since well, it's a pirated app and the message is a way for the cracker to show off his 'work of art'.

I'll try to position it better when I get the watch (I'll be getting one as soon as it comes to Amazon official retailer).

Nope, still not working (I've tried "I donated to XDA but did not get my stars." form). Tried from Chrome (AdBlock was paused) version 43.0.2357.130, also tried from FF 36.0.1

Got my first star request in last December without issue (I don't know if the star granting are meant to be automatic - my situation is compounded by having a different email account tied to Paypal than XDA), does not seem to be doing anything with Debian's Firefox here, or with Chrome on my Android tablet.
I had the same issue with another part of the contact form a month or two back as well (so throw in my work PC running Chrome on Win7).
My transaction ID is 08782348EW9725434 (20EUR)
