I suddenly acquired this new battery icon on the left.
From the logcat I think it is STATUSBAR-BatteryController. But I can't tell much more than that.
Having two battery percentages is just a waste of space.
Can someone give me some guidance into telling me how to figure out what this is and how to get rid of this?
I suspect it's when I applyed the OMega grey toggle mods, but I can't verify this.
Thanks.
- Frank

As far as I know, anything left-aligned on the status bar is an app notification, not a system one, so it must be one of the apps you have installed.

Yes That is from the toggle mod. I have the same, but with the blue mod

Argh, I figured it out.
It was widgetsoid.
I figured it out by going into terminal monitor, doing an 'su'
and then doing: dumpsys notification
which shows you all current notifications.
Then I just started uninstalling each item one by one, by taking the package name and looking it up via:

What is the compass-shaped icon in the HTC Sense notification bar?

This is going to seem like a dumb question, but it's been killing me and I just have to know. I've tried searching around for the answer but haven't been able to formulate the proper search terms to find anything.
Anyway, what is that compass-shaped icon in the notification bar when you are running Sense? No non-Sense builds seem to have it. I've circled it in this image:

Thanks in advance for satisfying my curiosity.
Location services status.
You could have found out what it is in the EVOs manual.

Its in your settings. right below accounts and sync. You gotta put time into your phone bro.
I use a widget to turn it on and off.

Damn, I went through the manual before posting and missed it. Sorry. Well, thanks for the answers guys.
Is there a way to hide that icon? I really already know if its on or off because what I set it at I don't need to see it every time I read the top bar of my phone.

Battery show in percentage?

How to display the battery as percentage instead of a icon representation.
I'd rather see 45% battery life then a icon that show's half.
Any apps that you recommend for this?
Epic Blackclass will be reeased soon and will implement this. Initially showing 10% at a time will update later with 5 % intervals.

whats the details on Blackclass? when will it be out? and will it run on top of Epic4G? or need root? details?
Yes it will require root, a preliminary "version" of it should be releaseed in the next few hours.
Since TouchWiz doesn't have battery percentage built into it, the only way would be changing/flashing the framework with requires root.
You can get apps that show a battery notification with %, but changing the battery icon itself to have percentage isn't possible without root.
Don't know if I will be finished by tonight, but soon.

Yeah that irked me there was no option in there to show it.
In fact there were other apps that when I opened up actually showed the percentage number.

Circular Battery Stat - No Root Needed - Notification

So back in October of 2010, some guy named Irkan made the version for a black notification bar and I made the version for the white notification bar. Here they are, they work great in ICS. Just download and install like a normal apk.

Can you make 1 with stock battery icons for Android Revolution 2.1.2? LTE version?
no only because i don't have time. feel free to break into the apk and replace the icons though.
if you search for my posts on androidforums.com you'll find some links to big battery icons that are ICS type but probably lower resolution. might work.
Is this for the notification bar?
If so, does it replace the stock battery icon, or add an additional one?
Wow nice!!! But would you please explain what's the difference between two files? I'm running everything stock (locked bootloader), which one should I use?
If later one we decided to go back to the original, will simply uninstall this app work?
It adds an additional one. Just tried it. Would be nice if it was a replacement, which I guess would require root at the very least.

AOSP signal & WiFi icons in status bar?

Not a fan of the broken lined signal or WiFi icons. I much prefer stock Android's filled out white icons. Any simple way to fix that? Thought I saw a screenshot where someone had theirs setup like that, but can no longer find it.
I have never seen a wifi signal before, i have unlimited data so no need for it. Send a pic

Sorry for bumping this old thread but can anyone give me information on how to do this?
Just got my HTC 10 the other day and seems I'll be needing to root this phone to get rid of some minor issues.

Question Does anyone know if there is a way to get rid of the huge space that is taken up by the clock when fully extending the notification panel?

I want to get rid of the huge space when fully extending the notification panel, so when I pull it all the way down, the brightness bar is around the center of the screen, does anyone know a way to do this, with or without root.

Try using Galaxy Goodlock family of apps,
Quickstar. See if it can hide it for you...
Try notifications settings, try searching for "clock" in settings.
Quickstar hides the clock on my homescreen page, they may have added more options for Android 11/12.
On my N10+'s Android 9/10...
I will try that. Thank you.

That looks horrible. Is that Android 12?
13 will likely be worse.
On 9/10 it uses the space much better...
This was modified using Quickstar for the custom colors.
If you want to quickly access brightness control you can use One Handed Operation plus, Quicktools to do so.
Sadly there was no option for this, it seems to be essentially color type changes you can make
