[Q] candyboards/pocket keyboards - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III

Looking for the best gaming keyboard(around the size of the phone) for the galaxy s3. Prefer bluetooth but dont mind usb for the otg cable. I have been looking into VisionTek Candyboard wireless or 3-in-1 Wireless Remote Controller Keyboard for Sony PS3(if it would work), but wondering if there is a better one and if there is also one that would work as a touch screen just as if i was touching the gs3 instead of actually touching the screen vs the track pad on the candyboard. Thanks in advance(and i do hit the thanks button).

Anyone have any insight on this question? I too am interested.

You get a thanks for the bump and ?, but i have been waiting a month and still nothing .....

Keyboards/mice

Looked around to find more info but couldn't find quite what I was looking for. First off, I wanted to confirm that any bluetooth keyboard/mouse should be compatible with the Atrix. Second, (assuming the first was correct...) I wanted to hear if people have tried other keyboards/mice with the Atrix. I'm assuming that the android related keys found on the official motorola keyboard are still available on normal keyboards, just labeled differently?
Thanks in advance!
Do we really need bluetooth? What about a usb hub and wireless kb / mouse? I don't own a bluetooth kb and mouse so dropping $100 on these is almost pointless. Anyone try this method yet:
micro usb ----> usb adapter ----> usb hub -------> usb kb /usb mouse
Either way... basically just trying to find other options for the webtop. I looked around and found out that I was mistaken about the pricing on bluetooth keyboards and mice. Apparently the Motorola keyboard/mouse aren't too ridiculously priced compared to other bluetooth options. I still feel like I could justify a regular keyboard more because I could still use it for a computer or something. Can't help but feel the moto keyboard would go unused aside from the atrix.
I'm one adapter short of testing the hub idea, I'll let you know sometime this week if it works. Right now I'm just using it with the virtual trackpad/kb...
If anyone wants to try this here is a USB gender changer that should allow you to plug a hub into the phone (for a usb keyboard/mouse) using the included micro usb cord. even tough its ~$3.00 I dont care about webtop enough to try it.

Just tried my razer Orochi blue tooft mouse when docked in the laptop dock and it paired right up and works perfect
So if this mouse works i would think any one will work.
Apple bluetooth keyboard and mouse work, if that's the way you roll. The media buttons on the keyboard will even fire up the music player on the phone. Brightness buttons don't do anything though.
It looks like the Atrix's own bluetooth keyboard is quite nice quality and very compact. does anyone have it that can give us a little review of it? I wouldn't mind using it as my main keyboard for my desktop.
Does anyone have the apple BT keyboard running on a windows 7 system? does it work well?
Logitech DiNovo Edge successfully paired with Atrix
I successfully paired my Logitech DiNovo Edge keyboard with my Atrix today and hooked the phone up to my TV via HDMI. Worked perfectly. Loved having the connection mod without needing a dock. Was able to do a lot from the couch
The DiNovo Edge has a built in mouse pad and is very sturdy and high quality. One of my all time favorite keyboard/mouse combo's.
Hope this helps.
I had actually looked at the edge in the past... seems like it would be a good pairing for the Atrix. Might have to give that a try. I just need to justify the cost to myself.

If you don't mind the size it's, imho, perfect. I have a few other BT keyboards I'm going to try to pair when I get time...if I get a chance I'll report back.
Where can you buy the Motorola keyboard?

That's not the right adapter at all... you need a female A -> male micro for one device, or however you want to then convert the other side. I'm waiting on that part then mine goes from that to a mini usb into my hub. might not work but we'll see.

Well non-bt doesn't work for me at least. I'm sure we just have to load a driver or something. I tried atrix -> male micro usb -> regual usb female -> male usb -> mini usb -> hub. It should be noted it was a powered usb hub. My mouse plugged into the hub didn't work, so I gave up haha.

[Q] Asus Transformer-like Keyboard and Mouse?

Hi everyone,
I was wondering if anyone of you know if samsung has a keyboard and mouse similar to that of the Asus Transfomer. I searched over amazon but I couldn't find anything. It is not necessarily made by Samsung, it could be made by other manufacturers.

Samsung has their own docking keyboard, which works fine. Next to that, as the keyboard is white, I have added a white wireless bluetooth mouse by Logitech, which works fine as well.
Who needs a laptop after that.

I've seen that but what's interesting about the Asus keyboard/mouse is that it is very slim and it can be folded while if you want to hold the samsung keyboard, you will have to use a both hands maybe
No, I use it in my lap as a keyboard without needing two hands. The connection is secure. The mail advantage of the keyboard are that it has a number of special keys, and that it does charge the Tab wile inserted in the keyboard. Mail disadvantage is that it does require you to use the samsung stock software keyboard on the tab. The external keyboard requires that.

If you can get your hands on this official keyboard case, this I think beats the Asus transformer in style and portability, though battery life will take a toll since it's bluetooth. Problem is, I can't see any US vendors selling it.

i got the keyboard dock as well. Went with the white one instead of the new bluetooth keyboard from samsung with a folding case since i don't wanna use bluetooth to preserve battery life.
The advantage is that its rock steady in its position and you can easily have it your lap on teh bus for example. the downside is that you can adjust the angle. although i'm fine with the angle the way it is but they could have maybe made it a bit more adjustable somehow.
i also got the official usb adapter which i use for mouse, works so far with every mouse i've tried, and its snappy!
i would recommend a wireless mouse with a tiny usb dongle instead of bluetooth. mainly due to battery life. i'm getting one myself, just using a wired mouse atm.
on another note, the usb adapter works quite well also, even tho its a bit on the large side i'm content with it. to my own surprise i plugged in my old usb saitek cyborg gamepad (looks like a x360 controller only you can switch place with the d-pad and left analogue stick) and it worked perfectly with my emulators!
one suggestion on the usb adapter tho, if you're using it for mouse you are better of plugging in the mouse first and then plugging the adapter into the keyboard dock (with mouse already plugged in). Seems like a lot less risk of breaking it that way. that's why i don't like adatpers that much, but guess it's the price to pay when you get as slick and slim tablet as the galaxy tab. no UBS port from start. still it has better placement of the pin connector than ipad for example since you can't have it netbook style in apple's keyboard dock due to that fact, but the galaxy tab becomes just like a netbook when combined with the keyboard dock.
also the keyboard dock is not a hassle to bring along on the road and it feels sturdy and well built. and it's also about half the price of the new bluetooth keyboard with case, at least here in sweden. I might get the bluetooth one for portability since it's obviously a bit less space demanding, but not much compared to the keyboard dock. but at the current price i'll hold off a bit since i'm so satisfied with my solid keyboard dock. feels good to type on too IMO.
i'll end my rant now

Rii Mini Wireless Keyboard Anyone?

Wondering if anyone has tried the Rii Mini Wireless Keyboard with their Note 10.1? I have been using a Logitech Tablet keyboard and really like it, but for traveling really light to meetings sometimes this looked to cool top pass up.
Anyone tried one? What was your experience?

I just purchased one, and i'm enjoying it so far. I had originally purchased it to use with my Raspberry Pi, but now I use it when I boot into Linux. It also works fine in Android.
It's super handy and lightweight. I've only had mine for about a week, so I'm still trying it out, but so far I'm glad I purchased it.
I say if you have the $20 to spend, go for it.
I've had one for a while works on everything both my Samsung notes and its has USB Bluetooth dongle too! Pretty great for the $

[Q] note 2 and mhl cable: is there a way to keep the screen off during the stream?

hi,
I would like to know if there is a way to keep (maybe with an app made for this purpose) the note 2 connected with the mhl cable to the TV and at the same time keep the screen turned off in order to improve battery duration during this process... In fact, the idea would be to play with a ps3 joypad without touching the display... perhaps with emulators and stuff like that ... thanks
up!
i've searched around and i found screen stand by that should do what i was looking for
thanks anyway

Looking for a keyboard with a trackpad for my 2014 Note 10.1

All options seem to have a huge lip of leather coming off the bottom portion right under the touchpad, or need a kickstand for support which is not practical on your lap.
Any suggestions?
I bought a Motorola KZ-450 combo keyboard/trackpad that's got a protective cover that turns into a stand about two years ago on one of those "Deal A Day" sites for $30 or $45. I keep it in one of those generic cloth 10" tablet pouches along with my Note.
My only regret with it? Not buying two at that price- it's been pretty much perfect for me, and I use it to bang out E-mails when I'm flying.
Any other options out there with a trackpad? The motorola doesn't seem to be available in the UK
Been looking for something similar myself.
All I've been able to find are touchpad based solutions...not that practical
I was looking for the same until I ordered this today: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I describe why that one won out of the 100s of keyboards I was checking for certain features (priority, quick switch, multi-device pairing, lower priority, trackpad). Not only does it have both of those, but also a built in IR (learning) remote! Check out my post in the other keyboard topic on this page, where I describe it a bit more. Hope that one appeals to you!
Bad link
My bad, thanks for letting me know http://www.amazon.com/Ultrathin-Wireless-Bluetooth-Programmable-Rechargeable/dp/B00EZL1N6U
what about this one?

I use the Logitech K410. Perfect and not too pricey.
sorry for the bump but... does k410 works via bluetooth ot you use the USB dongle with a cable?

I wasn't part of this thread, but I hvae used logitech products with my android devices that were meant for windows. I have my Trackball M570 and one of my wireless K800 keyboard both connected to the same wireless dongle. When I want to use them with my Note 10.1 2014, I plug wireless receiver dongle into an adapter, like this OTG cable: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GM0OZ4O/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
So, it connects wirelessly as it would to the pc, not via bluetooth.
Only other thing to note is, the apps Logitech has for Android keyboards will not work with things like the k800.
There are miniaturized keyboards with touch pads and often a remote control on the other side for smart tvs. But these are wifi based, maybe additionally with bluetooth. Or there's some wireless remote(the wifi ,not IR kind) or wifi keyboard driver/app for Android.
I found this one
http://www.amazon.it/LEICKE®-Sharon...kmr0&keywords=tastiera+touchpad+note+10.1+014
It's very cool, but they don't sell a version with Italian layout (And the keyboard is not attached to the cover, but you can fix it with some glue XD)
Do you know something similar sold with different layouts?
