TO ANYONE WITH A TMOBILE NOTE2 THAT ROOTED BY FLASHING CWM RECOVERY AND FLASHING THE ROOT ZIP FILE. CAN YOU PLEASE MAKE A NAND BACKUP USING THE TAR FORMAT AND SEND ME THE BOOT.IMG FILE SO I CAN ROOT IT AND ADD FULL SUPPORT TO THE TOOLKIT.
ANYONE WHO HAS TRIED ROOTING THE TMOBILE AND SPRINT VERSIONS BY FLASHING AN INSECURE BOOT IMAGE INSTEAD OF THE RECOVERY METHOD. DO NOT WORRY AS YOU JUST HAVE AN INCOMPATIBLE BOOT IMAGE ON YOUR PHONE AND AS SOON AS I CAN GET THE STOCK FILE FROM SOMEONE YOUR PROBLEMS CAN BE EASILY FIXED.
I NEED THIS FILE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE SO ANYONE THAT CAN HELP PLEASE GET ON IT ASAP
TMOBILE USERS WHO HAVE SOFT BRICKED BY FLASHING THE N7100 BOOT IMAGE CAN DOWNLOAD *THIS* FILE WHICH WAS POSTED BY SLIMC84 AND FLASH IT VIA ODIN WHICH SHOULD FIX YOUR BOOT PARTITION. HOWEVER IF YOU ALSO FLASHED AN N7100 ROM THEN YOU WILL HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL SOMEONE MAKES A FULL NAND BACKUP AND POSTS IT.

yup, basically copy the extracted folder to your sdcards:\clockworkmod\backups\
then in CWM, restore each from the folder.
i'm testing right now to be sure it works. the backups are super tiny so i'm worried there's a bug in CWM or it uses crazy awesome compression.

Sweet! also i'm wondering, would this get my signal back and running? would it be possible to pull the mdm.bin/radio as well? i hope i get this thing fixed or might have to take it back to the TMO store where i got it from. Oh, and i paid full price for the phone, you think they'd give me a new one?

Did you flash a 7100 rom?

Addis did you try that stock rom that's floating around for t-mobile it's about 1.2 gb in 3 chunks
Basically i f'd up the phone after rooting.
Tried the t-mobile stock rom and it flashed it properly.
EVERYTHING works except the modem.
So i've already flashed with a stock rom with no modem.
I'm losing hair.

Thanks Shawn,
Will download those files and flash. We still need the radio/mdm.bin though.
Edit: so i did try to restore those stock files but i keep getting "md5 mismatch" error. What am i doing wrong? Is there a fix for this error?

redoing the nand tonight
i believe the new CWM uses a different method to backup and restore and in turn i think i may need to redo the nand since it was WAY TOO small and didn't contain the full files.
i'll put that up tonight once i get back from work.
sorry about that

Make a nandroid backup in clock work mod. If you dont have clock work, you will have to install that first. Search the dev thread for the CWM recovery threads
Okay, i have cwm and i have it backed up. so if i download ics and flash it i will be able to restore my old data?

1. Odin
2. Victory.pit file
3. A stock tar
The only reason for this is,it is the way to get back to the BML partition. Once you are back on stock, your back up will work as it should!
edit: If you use a non rooted stock .tar you will have to install CWM again. I am looking for the rooted ec05 tar for you right now.
this is a stock rooted ec05 tar from noobnl. http://www.mediafire.com/?opnq0n0pau8cu01

help with update to LI3 without losing Google now for iCS

im stock rooted on lg8. I am looking to update to LI3 and i have found several ways to that. However i'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions on a way I can update without affecting "google now for ICS". I saw an "all-in-one" download of baseband/radios etc...but the thread said something like "if i have and altered .apk's that it wouldn't work". In short i'm looking to be stock rooted on li3 without losing google now. Any suggestions? Thanks.
Boot into cwm or twrp and make a backup of your current Rom, then wipe only cache/dalvik cache and flash the Ll3 on top of your current Rom....if it works great if not reload your backup and hope someone has a better suggestion

[ROM][RESTORE][5-12-13]Back to UNROOTED Stock with Auto Flash Count Reset

Did this for the Galaxy SIII and figured I would do the same for the Note II as well.
This will take your phone back to UNROOTED stock as well as restore the STOCK RECOVERY, STOCK KERNEL, MC2 RADIO and FIRMWARE. It Will also RESET THE FLASH COUNT to no (0) and restore the official binary and system status as well. If you have updated to MK4 officially and have the MK4 KNOX bootloader with the "knox warranty void" status in download mode, this will REMOVE but NOT RESET it. So this is still perfect for a trip to the sprint store. Does exactly what an odin flash would without needing a PC. And unlike odin this gives you the ability to downgrade flawlessly from ANY firmware version. This is the ONLY way to come back from the dreaded knox upgrade.
NOW FOR THE INSTALL:
NOTE THAT FOR THIS TO BE POSSIBLE THIS MUST RUN COMMANDS THAT MOST ROM FLASHES DO NOT USE.
DUE TO THIS, USING GOO MANAGER AND ROM MANAGER TO INITIATE THE FLASH CAN CAUSE ISSUES. PLEASE MANUALLY BOOT TO RECOVERY AND START THE FLASH THERE.
As with most roms wipe data/factory reset prior to flashing!
I have always been a fan of clockworkmod recovery myself, but if using this I must recommend TWRP. On rare occurances, clockworkmod recovery has corrupted the cache partition when flashing this, causing issues with the second part of this restore. So use cwm at your own risk.
When finished you hit reboot as you would at the end of any rom flash but before the phone boots into the system it will automatically boot into my "special" version of TWRP and finish the process.(Which takes about 10 seconds).
When this is done you will be completely unrooted and back to square one with the exception of the internal sd card. (It will NOT be touched) So if you want to remain rooted then flash THIS (or click the little su guy below) after the restore zip before you reboot.
As far as I know there is only a 16gb version of the Note II for Sprint. If I'm wrong on that please correct me and note that this is ONLY TO BE USED ON A 16GB SPH-L900. This will most likely brick any other phone. And as always, FLASH AT YOUR OWN RISK. As I am not responsible if this makes your phone melt. This flashes important partitions so verifying the md5 is recommended. Think that about covers it.

I was able to activate and update prl n profile but was still getting the chameleon force close if /carrier wasn't wiped before the flash. Seeing as how twrp doesn't have that option and most people prefer it over cwm, I am currently uploading a new version which will wipe the carrier partition too. With carrier wiped, coming back from lk8 was flawless

[Q] Won't detect sim! help please!! note 2

I have an att galaxy note 2. I use straight talk and have been doing so for years with a lot of different models. I have had my note 2 rooted for at least 6 months with no problem. You're lucky you didn't end up with a brick
Well done on the restore...
The key is reading and comprehension...
Once you understand the system...it gets fun...g

SCH S960L debrick img pretty please? Will pay!

Been sitting on this Tracfone GSIII for 3 weeks doesn't turn on aka hard bricked. Realy really REALLY need a system dump or at least the .img to load to my SD so I can bring it back to life.
$10 to the PayPal of whoever can get it as it seems to be a growing trend among Tracfone users who tried to flash Sprint rom and got a brick same as me. No BS will pay!
Please?!
am i guessing that nobody either can do it, has it, will do it, or wants $10? how about if i personally deliver cookies to your door?
please?
FYI a system dump won't help you debrick.

OK well what is the file from the SD unbrick thread that forces the phone to boot from the SD to the bootloader? Where can I get it? How is it ripped etc etc. My boss said he would get another one so I can fix THIS one but I don't know what file is required or where it is located on the device. It would be much appreciated if someone could tut out how the original file was pulled so we can at least TRY this on similar devices.
I tried with the file in the thread but im assuming since it is only a brother device the phone isnt gonna recognize the partitioned sd, even though the sticker says L710 under the model number S960l. Also its been claimed that flashing a stock Sprint rom from TWRP is viable, but instead it bricked me
Here in the post is the line you need to run to get emmc image you need http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=44531604

I would greatly appreciate if someone could provide the files needed for this phone as well

Download:
Bootloader Restore tar
Unbrick
Do the emmc boot stuff, boot into download mode and use odin to flash the bootloader restore tar, that will let you boot into recovery to flash whatever rom you want etc.
thanks to bilyan for dumping the images for me

IT'S ALIVE!!!!!!! I dont have it yet, but as soon as I do the promised deposit is yours! Worked first time, no issues whatsoever.
Funnily enough, for the s&g's I decided to factory wipe from the recovery (which surprisingly booted as well) and the stock LJ7 Sprint rom that initially bricked it booted like a champ only thing was no sound, so which rom will work for this beast?
Also, mind if YouTube a tut for this?
glad you are all set, sprint roms work fine on this device, just not the bootchain which you flashed.
grab clockworkmod or twrp recovery for the sprint s3 and flash the latest cm nightly and you should be all set. except apn's but im gunna guess you dont have those so youll want to contact someone else who has this phone and try to get them. ive doen all i can for this device in that i helped get cm patched to work for yall, and unbrick stuff for yall.

Yes, I can't go to download mode. Just a blank screen & QHSUSB_DLOAD
I tried using debrick image from R530U, R530M ( the one you provided at androidforums ). Still no luck
