S calendar? - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note II

Somebody please tell me that they have s calendar installed. All I'm finding on this thing is just a regular calendar. Where the hell is my any table calendar exclamation exclamation. F.y.i this was completely dictated Google voice recognition offline mode rules ! Apparently you have to actually say exclamation mark.

Is there any version of the note 2 that has the handwritable. Calendar or am I just not activating the functionality? That was one of the features I was pretty interested in in one of the pr videos...

I'd also like to know about the calendar and writing on it. I've checked tips and tricks and don't see it addressed there or elsewhere.

You just need to read thoroughly, it was there under touchwiz tips and tricks. and it was also in a seperate post.
* Draw on Calendar - Open Calendar app > in portrait mode on "Month View" tap top left icon. When you exit out of writing mode, the drawings will disappear, but will reappear when you enter again.

HTC RSS reader

Hi
I've added 2 subscriptions to the rss reader but I can only get one feed to show in the widget. is there anyway to change this? id love the two showing on the widget

I have not succeeded in doing so and, therefore, now use BlueRSS without a widget.
Yep, I couldn't get more than one to show in the widget at a time either. A very strange oversight I think. I even went through the hassle of exporting my google reader feeds and importing into the news widget.
Anyway, installed netashare (free) which syncs with google reader and is rather tasty indeed (no widget mind).

This isn't good news, no pun intended, because I love rss feeds. Incidentally, when you double/ single tap to open the actual widget, does it show the second subscription at all? There must be a way of showing threaded rss feeds for each subscription, otherwise what is the point. I'll check all the youtube review videos and see if I can find anything. Either way let us now if you figured it out cause I'm getting this phone myself next month.
its simple, press and hold the screen so its highlighted and drag it down to the bottom to delete the widget.
then press the plus key at the bottom right and select widget.
then select "news"
then press the "select" button (making sure you choose widget style 1 of 2)
then select "All stories" which is just below the "Add feeds" button
hope that helps
haha thanks mate I worked that out last night!

Open the News application (not the widget) and long-click on the feed you want to remove and hit delete.

[Q] Search K-9 Inbox on GNEX

How do I search my inbox on K-9 email using GNEX? The instructions say to use the native search button on your android device when in the inbox screen. The GNEX does not have a native search key that I am aware of. There is one on the keyboard but I cannot pull up the keyboard when in the inbox screen. Any help would be appreciated.
Did I post this in the wrong section? Why is no one responding?

The only way I know how to with the Nexus and K9 is from the accounts overview screen that shows all the different accounts you have with K9. If you press the 2 dots menu button on the right, it brings up a menu with a search option.
I have not found a way to do this in the individual accounts view.

Google now reminders ?

Hey guys is there any way to set a reminder to but put in the calendar for a specific date ?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
I came here to ask this. Every time I try it simply wants to set an Alarm, and it looks like it is not possible at this point. It will not even set a day of the week for it to go.
Looks like this is about the only thing Siri has on Google Now at this point.

I told it to set a reminder and it didn't work, I was wondering why. Alarms don't sync to Google like reminders. Damn nightlies.

Reminders should open up the calendar and set it up for you

Reminder work around
You can set a reminder by sending a text to your calendar. Add Calendar (48368) as a contact. Then you can tell Google Now to send a text to Calendar:
ex: "Text Calendar wash the car at 2pm on Friday"
Calendar will reply to the text that the appointment has been set.
^Crazy awesome, I had no idea. Thanks.

Cool, but I don't have unlimited texts. Hopefully Google will fix this with an update soon.

Not sure how this works. Is there a special way to add the calendar as a contact? when I do it and try to send a text to the calendar it just brings up Google Search.
So when I go into into Google Now and hit the menu button at the bottom there's an option for "set reminder" then it puts "add reminder" in the search box and takes me to the screen for a reminder. From there I'm given the options "Today", "Tomorrow", and "Set Date". Is that not there for you guys?

This is an old thread. The reminder feature was added in a more recent update.

[Q] Email App Help

Evening all,
I am after a bit of advice. Being new to this Droid world im having a bit of difficulty with the email app. The one in the iPhone just… worked but the one that is built in with my note is providing to be a little more challenging. The Gmail app works great and I love it, but it doesn’t support my Uni email which is via exchange.
If I use the stock app, it has a horrible black screen which makes text hard to read, and it doesn’t always sync my emails properly.
Any advice on email apps? I want what I had on my iPhone, or as close to it as possible.
Thanks in advance
I don't know what this "black screen" you mention is. I use the stock email for my multiple exchange accounts. I have no problem with reading or consistency.
I'm on a us at&t unrooted. Providing a screen shot may help.

Thanks for the quick reply. The black screen is when I open the email app and it shows the email in thread form. When I open the email the background is usually white.
No black here. Did you change some other settings?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using xda app-developers app
I will try and upload something now
Please see attached screenshot. I have minimised all mail messages. Basically you have a black background and grey text. Its not ideal when reading. In addition to this i have found that Google will push the email to its own app, but using this Samsung app, it needs a time period to sync. I have tried a few different settings and not had much success.
I see now. I have too much mail for a condensed view to be an issue showing a black screen. That seems to be a very trivial issue. You can't really read your messages if they're closed up like that !
Yes gmail does have push, but you can have the same thing with exchange. However, it's not nearly as efficient; ive had exchange live push drain batteries way too quickly. Email polling is a standard feature on all email clients that are not "native" to the Microsoft ecosystem. The upside is you can set the time range for more often vs over hours (such as non work time or the middle of the night ).
Short story is, try to adjust to a different way of doing something. And nothing prevents you from doing a manual refresh on those OCD days.

I was using the collapsed view just to show the background. The text from any emails are a shade of grey with a black background. Really annoying.

Facebook not in apps list

Just upgraded to a new sprint gs3. Went to add facebook to accounts and checked the play store first, it says facebook is installed. Cool, but I'm not sure if that came from Sprint or from the automatic app download that happens when you add an existing account. Any way, all is cool, except the fact that facebook doesn't show up in the list of apps so I can put a shortcut on a home screen.
Has anyone else seen this? Am I missing something? In the store, there's an option to uninstall, so I guess I could uninstall/reinstall, but I'd kind of like to understand what's going on before doing that.
Any ideas?
Problem solved. I was expecting the apps to be in alphabetical order in the app drawer and they aren't (facebook was on the last page). Sorry for the silly question.
When in the app drawer hit the menu button / view type then select alphabetical order
Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
thanks - I remembered that about a half second after I realized the drawer wasn't in alphabetical order. Appreciate you going to the trouble to post the screen shot though!
