so anyone getting squaretrade on their Gnote? - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note II

squaretrade is around $100 with coupon...which is 1/6 of the gnote's price. typically, that ratio for me is about 1/4 the cost of the phone, so it never seemed worth it. my current phone is the evo shift, which i don't think has gorilla glass, and amazingly, doesn't even have a scratch on the screen.
apparently, i'm very careful with my device (even on the second leg of the 2 year contract when i'm less careful with it). so i'm considering whether or not insurance is a sucker's bet or a good investment on this one.
what route did you guys go with?

With S. T. You can always return the unused portion of your warranty. If you buy a 2year warranty and sell the phone after a year and do not choose to include it in the sale then log on and you return the half you haven't used time wise

I bought one yesterday, but not before complaining that the iPhone 5, with the same 649.99 retail price tag, is $30 less than the "smartphone" plan. They sent me a coupon code for the difference
Sprint can keep their warranty for $11/mo. I'm now paying less than $5/mo with SquareTrade.

Pro-Tip: Don't break your Sprint GNex right now.

So a little more than two weeks after I bought my Galaxy Nexus (Sprint), it had a rather unpleasant meeting with concrete. The screen is so cracked, Charlie Sheen is impressed.
Right now they're on back-order with Asurion, so it could be up to two weeks before they ship my replacement. Not sure about the VZW Gnex.

How is it a rip-off? For $100 they're sending me a replacement. It would have easily cost a lot more than that to get the screen replaced, and the retail price of the phone is $550.

Actually, that's rather fortuitous for you. Asurion typically does not keep new phones on hand and stocks up on refurbs. What your current situation means is that you'll likely receive a new replacement. "up to two weeks" is their standard disclaimer, but you'll probably be without for just a few days while they acquire a new handset from Sprint and then shop it to you after they receive it. Same thing happened to me in January with the VZW GN.

How much is the epic worth?

I have an upgrade next month and I want my wife and I to both upgrade to the nexus. But my wife does not want to spend over $200 for both. Amazon has it for $150. I was wondering of people are still willing to spend $100 on the epic. It's in pretty good condition with some minor cosmetic damage in the bottom of the phone.

As much as someone is willing to pay for it but honestly Sprint in Good Condition will only give you about probably 45 to 60$. And its going for 99.99$ w/ 2 Yr Contract as well.
But as a phone i'd check craigslist around you and see because i have seen people sell it for 150+ and some below that so see whats around you and how much and try their and if nothing works try to sell it here.
Off contract from sprint its around 150 or so... i think. You could put it up for around 100-125.

SquareTrade vs. Ensquared

Now I understand that there have been quite a few threads on insurances companies but I want to know what you guys went for and why.
SquareTrade covers everything except lost and stolen but i have seen exceptional reviews with them
-They require you to buy their insurance within 30days
-$69 for 1 year (Coverage up to $750)
-$99 deductible
Ensquared does cover lost and stolen and I have seen decent reviews with them.
-They require you to buy their insurance within 90days
-Claims all phones are replaced NEW
-$58.99 for 1 year (Coverage up to $1000)
-Max of $75 deductible on any smartphone
I've read much on SquareTrade but i havent found much on Ensquared in terms of reviews. If anyone does have experience with Ensquared that would be nice. Insurance that covers lost and stolen is golden.
Now there are other companies too such as Negri and Asurion. I've read Negri is unreliable with their umbrella insurance company. Asurion is okay but doesnt cover every carrier.
Input would be great. Remember, we all just want to secure our investments
Also interested. I have a coupon for square trade, but ensquared is tempting with those prices.
Att/Asurion is pushing it with that $200 deductable
I wouldn't recommend Ensquared. Here's why.

She later found the Captivate, and they told her she can go ahead and keep both phones. Cool.

So have I, on many many electronic devices.... but their rates are just ridiculous now! Here's an email dated 7.7.07 (odd....)

Your Care Plan Summary
Care Plan Price $67.20
Care Plan Term 2 Years
Level of Coverage ADH
Covered Item Phones & PDAs - Samsung
(later on in the email....)
A $50 deductible applies on ADH-related claims for Cell Phones only.

That's on par with today's plans, and they have nearly doubled the purchase price and has doubled the deductible! There's got to be a better solution here, especially when we all baby the crap out of these phones and only have an accident every 5-6 warranties or something....
I haven't had any experience with those two companies, but might I suggest you look into Best Buy? Within the initial 30 days you can add it. Its $9.99 a month, they don't cover lost or stolen, but don't have a deductible. I've used them on my Original Galaxy S II, when the screen broke they shipped it off and then gave me the cash value. I used the in store cash value to get the Skyrocket. Anyway, just an idea!
I think I'm gonna go with ensquared lol

just informed that the galaxy note 2 for tmobile will increase to 11.99 bundle 7.79 insurance only on 3/17 and deductible of 175 instead of 130.
Wow, that sounds a little high. I hope mine doesn't get lost again. I guess I'll consider myself lucky I had to replace it before this.

Squaretrade, I don't understand them. $99 for two year coverage and $50 deductible on the iphone 5 64gb that retails for $799, or $125 for two years coverage and $99 deductible for the $699 note 2. Or the $299 nexus 4.

The more popular the phone = less the deductible because the percentage of people actually breaking their phones is probably less than those that don't. In the end they make more money.

[Q] Selling Questions

Wife and I might be leaving Sprint due to having bad service at home and work, but not in between. How annoying is that if we're roaming and can't use our data? I got a call from Sprint offering a free out on both lines with no ETF due to data roaming that's occuring while I work. We have an Airave here that we got for free (and have no problem sending back to Sprint).
Anyway, onto the question. What price should we be looking at to sell our phones? Both are in great condition -- hers is white, and mine is black. Hers has an Otterbox Defender on it and mine has a Commuter.
I was thinking about $250 a piece for a total of $500 to help pay for our new phones on another carrier.
Thoughts and comments are appreciated! Thanks
I think your price is too high. $200 if you are lucky but $150-175 per phone is more realistic. This phone has been out over a year and used cases have very little value.

150-160 if you want to sell it real quick. 170-185 is where I personally would look for if I'm looking for a used GS2. $200 and above is really stretching it.
I sold mine for $300 on dec 1 with 2 batteries and 3 cases. I put an ad on craigslist nov 31 and by 9am dec 1 I had 3 ppl message me 2 offered 250 and one offered the asking price. It was gone by 10am and I was at sprint picking up my note2

I would've said $250 each at the minimum. Especially if they are in almost new condition since you've had cases on them.
