Is Samsung Apps (app) preloaded on the AT&'T models? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note II

I know that they usually don't include that in us model phones, but it would be a shame because I'm seeing a lot of the apps just attach to things like Samsung Keyboard and extend functionality, or be customized for S Pen. Can someone chime in? I need to answer this question for some people. Thanks!

Why do you say it doesn't come on us models? It was on my OG note straight out of the box. If you don't get an answer all let you know when i receive mine.

I had a Galaxy SII and a SII Skyrocket, and they didn't come with Samsung Apps. But yeah, the Note and the Note 2 needs Samsung Apps. That's where all the new S Pen apps are being grown. Thanks for your response!

Sprint Samsung SPH-L900 (New Samsung Device - CONFIRMED as Galaxy Note 2!)

I was looking through some Samsung RDF's this morning and stumbled across a new unannounced phone!
For those that aren't familiar with an RDF they are the development and design specs for a given build on a phone. This one just happens to be for a phone that is not yet out or even announced! EDIT: I have now confirmed with a source of mine that this is in fact the RDF for the Samsung Galaxy Note 2!
Some of the cool things I found in the RDF?
Exynos4412 processor
1280x720 resolution
Android 4.1.1!
Support for EVDO, DOrA, WiFi and LTE!
2 GB RAM
16 GB HDD (with expansion slot up to 32 GB)
8 Megapixel camera
And more!
Honestly there's a ton of stuff in there and smarter minds than mine should be able to pull more out of it. This early in the RDF process I'm guessing that this is purely an engineering build and may not even be the final specs but still something to keep an eye out for!
Now for the fun stuff! FYI - The RDF is only viewable in Internet Explorer.
http://device.sprintpcs.com/Samsung/SPH-L900/LI2.rdf
Enjoy!
EDIT: Garwynn has pointed out that the Galaxy Note 2 has specs that are identical to that of the RDF. Check out this article from DroidLife for pictures and info.

Its another frequency similar to LTE. I tried to find some reading material and granted there's not much out there but here's some stuff I found.

Funny that you mentioned this. My guess is the Note 2.
Timing makes sense especially with these as context for it:
http://www.tmonews.com/2012/09/samsung-sgh-t889-coming-to-t-mobile-as-the-galaxy-note-ii/
It was also announced last week that the Note 2 is coming to the US but no release date was given.
http://www.droid-life.com/2012/08/2...jelly-bean-and-1-6ghz-exynos-chip/#more-81015
Since we're probably not going to see a rework of the GS3 this year that's the only other possibility.
Specs match it to a T.

I REALLY hope this is the Note 2. Now the big question. When will it get here??? Will Jelly Bean still even be considered new when we see this phone.

You won't - with swype, its so easy to type stuff that it makes little sense to have a qwerty phone these days.... just introduces a higher risk of some small component breaking.
Granted, there are some out there who can't live without a qwerty physical keyboard attached to the phone... but whatever... its only a matter of time.

Any idea when the 4.2 update might drop_

I am interested in the Note II. I currently have a 4S and with the lack of a jailbreak the i5 is not appealing to me... I tried before with the skyrocket but it was such a bad phone that I really hated it and went back to the 4S. I find this phone extremely capable... 4.2 bring certain updates that might mimic lockinfo for iPhone and that is one huge important piece on why I have stayed on the jailbroken 4S.
Any idea on when this update is scheduled to hit? I only recently saw that the 4.1.2 was leaked but it appears is NOT for the 7105.
This phone has a lack of custom Roms as most of them (all) are for the non LTE version.
Really like the DNA, but not available on AT&T and I want an LTE phone.
Thanks

Dont post questions in the dev section!
-No way to know when 4.2 is going to come for Note II. In fact, 4.1.2 official hasn't been out yet, only the leaked unofficial version.
-Some may agree and some may disagree with me, but you really don't need custom roms for this phone. The stock experience is excellent out of the box.
-The DNA does have LTE, but on Verizon.

True... you don't need custom rom with the plethora of stuff for it... just root it and be done... hence why I wanted the 4.2 version for the lockscreen info.

I have 4.2 on my Nexus. Nothing in it that I need over 4.1.2
There is no ability to disable lock screen widgets, they annoy the heck out of me.
Swype in the keyboard we already have.
Quick settings is a joke. If they were toggles they would be useful.
Nothing makes me want 4.2 over 4.1.2 right now.

No. You'll end up unnecessarily upsetting the network with incorrect requests.

It would need some porting to get your data to work. Pretty much it. And removal of AT&T apps. Just like CNexus said above.

Define "easy".
It all depends on the ROM and your background knowledge with ROMs. Some ROMs I find easy to port while others keep me scratching my head for days. All depends.

Yea, I'm completely new to all this stuff. I'm getting my S3 on Thursday, so I'll have to see. I personally hate Samsung's UI because it feels all laggy and just overall hate it. You can just download the sprint version over in SPRINT GALAXY S3 ORIGINAL DEVELOPMENT. sorry for caps, only doing it to make it clear so no one bricks theirs. Wait till he has a booting one though.
Porting from US S3's are a lot easier than from international version.

The correct answer is NO you may not use the Supernexus Rom made for the I9300. Unless you want to throw that phone right in the garbage.
Now you can use the Supernexus Rom made for the (d2spr) SPH-L710 which is the Sprint version. Found in the Sprint Galaxy S3 Development section here on XDA.
There is no reason you should even be looking in other phone forums other than the one specific to your device.
Have a great day!

10.1 (2014) and Smartphone Pairing

I'm looking at a new smartphone in addition to picking the this tablet. Some of the apps used on the Note 10.1 are proprietary to Samsung so you would need a Note 1,2,3 to use them on a phone. I run a custom ROM and have none of those apps on my N1 so I can't really say what the advantage would be to being able to use them on both devices other than familiarity.

NP, I've never owned a tablet so I can't speak for that but I bought the Galaxy Note 1 on the day it was released and have been very satisfied.
If you end up going with these 2 I would think you will be as well. Also note that if you end up rooting the Note 3 you can use it as a wifi hotspot for your tablet so if you're looking to save some money you can just get the wifi version and not the LTE or 3g version.

Well if you get Samsung Galaxy phone you get function like S-beam which uses NFC to initiate connection then transfers files via WiFi direct much faster then doing Dropbox upload then download.
Also with Galaxy phone's you get S-Memo which sync's with all the Galaxy devices same like Evernote but with Note devices you get to draw or hand write memo.

Hmmm..... weird!
NFC is such common thing that I never actively looked for it in the articles, I thought it was given as how every Samsung high end devices from S3 forward got it.
Not having it on tablet would turn one of the best function of touchWiz the S-Beam totally redundant!
Some sites are saying yes and some saying no. Maybe the final product will have it?
The tablet is not out yet for reviews, so we shall see how it pans out.
I'm still on the fence between Sony Xperia Z tablet or Note 10.1, as I'm still waiting for the price of 4G model.

Yeah, I remember those days well. Thankfully VZW has stopped this practice with recent Galaxy releases. Although they still love putting their logos on the rear battery cover.
My Galaxy Note 3 does not have one. So I hope the same for Note 4.
I don't think it's possible thanks to the fingerprint reader. Quick, Samsung, put fingerprint readers on all of your phones! Delete the ugly logos!
