As seen in the image, I am running low on space. Adding up the used portions of my memory should leave more than 5gb's left, but instead I have only 2.9
Any help?

Usually this is due to nandroid backups.

the amount of space taken up by your nandroid doesn't show up in this screen. you should try downloading DiskUsage from the Play Store so you'll have an idea as to what's taking up space in your phone.
P.S. I am not, in any way, related to or are friends with the developer/s of DiskUsage.

I noticed that when initially 'calculating', there is a 'misc' group where usually nandroid and other big files are but once it finishes calculating it disappears.
I'm not sure why it does that now on jb roms but on ics roms it would calculate the misc group. Or maybe it's just a rom problem but I doubt it.
I'm on aokp btw

Your doubt is justified, it's the same on stock since Jellybean!

I'll check out disk usage. I have no nandroid backups on my phone.

This happened to me before, and i know exactly why, though its pretty situational.
I used Google music to download all of my songs to my device. What I didn't know is that you don't just get copies of the same files you uploaded. What I ended up getting was a bunch of strangely named files in the cache of Google music with a .nomedia file hiding them. My data manager did the same strange disappearing misc. files thing. I tried to unpin the music through Google music, and the space was still taken. I then tried to delete the files from the cache using a root manager, and I couldn't for the life of me free up that space, no matter what I did.
I ended up wiping my data and starting fresh because it frustrated me so much.

I just come to see how to solve the problem

Get more storage on device by moving apps to system partition

I've tried to move most of my apps to the ROM (system/apps) partition so that I can have more room for the media on the storage partition but some apps like music and poweramp don't seem to work.
Are there any guidelines to know which apps would work in this way?
I used a file manager to do this. Ghost Commander using root mode.

I cant answer your question but i dont think you get any benefit to moving the apps from one place to another....
From this link....
With the unified storage model we introduced in Honeycomb, we share your full 32GB (or 16GB or whatever) between app data and media data. That is, no more staring sadly at your 5GB free on Nexus S when your internal app data partition has filled up -- it's all one big happy volume.
Im using AOKP ROM but not sure that matters.
I gained free space on internal and lost space on system as reported by TiBu . The low storage warning went away also.

Some apps work some dont. I'm just moving APKs. Anything else to help apps that aren't working on the ROM partition?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus
I'm not really grasping the point here.. I mean, most apps are only ~3mb or so. Is moving a few of them over to the /system partition really going to solve your storage issues? That's like one song per app transferred.
To each his own, I suppose.
But the storage is effectively all one partition... and the apps are so small...
Some apps like games are 10mb and even larger.
Yes there is not a lot to gain but I want to use the ~500mb free space on the ROM partition.
Those on Verizon might not care but 16GB is not much for the GSM version.

Very true, I think it is ridiculous to put a permanent warning out if you still got 500Mb of free space. My Nexus One don't even has that much storage combined and only starts bugging me when at 20MB and less. I could live with the warning sign, but stopping synchronization with my services is a huge fail by the OS.

You can see the extra folder on the bottom right
I remember on the evo 3d you could go to settings and make sure they didn't appear I don't see that on here ... and I get tired of erasing them. Also I don't want an app for gallery stock one is fine for me

I'm assuming you mean bottom left, not bottom right?
What are the images of? And they're not deletable from the Gallery app itself?
If you connect to a PC and dive into the folders, can you find where they are and delete them?

I use QuickPic instead of the Gallery, its much better and faster imo. QP has the option to hide folders you dont want showing up. If you are willing to try QP instead of Gallery that will solve your problem, but I dont know how to hide folders in the Gallery app.

In the root of the directory where the images are make a file called ".nomedia", clear the data on the gallery app and images will not come back.

[APP] CWM online cloud backups?

Is there any app that will backup cwm backups to the cloud? Such as google drive, dropbox, box, skydrive? Seems all the ones out there only do data, contacts, photos, music, apps, but no options to choose a nandroid backup folder.
Sent from my SGH-I927 using xda app-developers app
Doesn't work for large files.... Bummer
I finally found an app that lets you choose exactly what files you want backed up to the cloud. It's Browser for skydrive app & if you have a hotmail account you get 7gb of free storage. This allows you to back up your cwm back ups & retrieve them wherever you are. It's got a pretty slick explorer 2 pane interface.

Well I thought this would work but I guess these websites don't allow large files or blobs to be uploaded. Bummer
if there any dev that want to create a tiny app that can zip/rar the chosen backup folders and then upload them to one of the cloud services, it will be great
i dot have any knowledge of building such an app, but i recon it will not be a difficult job.
Tried using a Zip App but upload failed

I tried using a couple of different Archive Zip Apps but the uploads always seem to fail. I suspect file size might be an issue with these cloud service sites.
you need to zip/rar to up 100mb per file for box.com or 300mb per file for dropbox.
i'm using my box.com for archiving CWMR backups and Titanium Backup backups.
btw if you also have a lg phone you can get 50gb free for life space on box.com (also there is a workaround for all other android phones)
I just tried using es explorer to login to my skydrive (7gb) & it seems to be working fine without using any compression. Guess those blobs are good for something after all.

Very odd, I've had the game on mine for about 3 weeks. and have never had an issue. I would un-install the game again and then go into the Android/data directory with your file manager and remove the com.ea.games.nfs13_na directory. Then re-install the game. It will have to re-download data. Hope this helps.
Strange. Plays fine here on Jb.. But if u find a free apk online it doesn't play.. Just as u described will happen.. Do as other had stated and seen if works.

Issue was a bad update...
There was an update that EA released which caused the game to malfunction. Apparently as of today the issue has been resolved(Check the attached screenshot).
Re-download over wifi now that it has been "fixed" and try again. If not, email the address that's listed in my screenshot.

New User: question and some fixes

Hi Guys, I am new to Galaxy S3,
So far my experience has been so so. When I have been having problems with the music app, for example, once playing a track i cant pause, or if it is paused, i cant resume, app the kind of crashes. Is this normal
Also when i have hardware overlay disabled for play dead trigger, i cant watch hd youtube vidoes in full screen, the picture freezes.
any suggestions. I have tried 3 hard resets now and sprint wont replace it beacuse i cant recreate the music problem in store and they say youtube is app issue not phone

It's this Google Music? This is an issue that started for me with the most recent update to Google Music a couple of weeks ago. I rolled back to an earlier version using titanium backup and the problem is gone. Might have to wait for another update our use a different player.

nah its the stock app.
Both of those are problems with the apps not the phone or jellybean.
Contact app developer (doubt it'll do anything) but it is what it is.
