The best part of this camera in my opinion is the quick controls. they are Similar to the ones in the stock android browser. They definitely speed up switching camera settings ..the part that was really cool but didnt blow me away as the photosphere. yes its cool but in my opinion was not much better than panorama ..what would have made the difference for me is if you could view the photo in a continuous loop just like street view ..all in all its an improvement over the ICS camera

Successflly flashed it and modified the build.prop.
Everything works beautifully. Haven't had a chance to do the sphere testing but will give it a try when I am outdoors.

Once the proper tweaks are finished, that "street view" you are looking for will be there. If you upload your photosphere to g+ then view if from desktop, you can see the view you are looking for.

I am using this version from AndroidPolice:
http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/1...gallery-app-with-new-ui-editing-photo-sphere/
no build.prop edits functioning gallery editing and photosphere.
Photosphere doesn't seem to line up photos too well though.
Video while recording is very blurry, playback through gallery does not work.

Firstly, this zip is only available for Galaxy Nexus phones that are rooted. All others need not apply. Sorry. If you’re packing a rooted G-Nex with a custom recovery installed, follow the instructions below. Also, some people are reporting bugs with Photo Sphere – mine worked fine, but just know that there are issues for some.
This also works for the SGS3, but you have to be running the latest in CM10 builds, or in my case Liquid Jelly Bean RC7
Instructions:
1. Download the 4.2Camera.zip - Mirror file.
2. Place the zip file on the root of your phone’s storage.
Optional: Rename Gallery2.apk to something like Gallery2.apk.bak, or you'll have two Camera apps
3. Reboot into your recovery.
4. Just in case, make a backup.
5. Flash the 4.2Camera.zip file. (No need to wipe anything)
6. Once installed, reboot your phone.
7. Lastly, enjoy it!
Update: Photo Effects Now Work! (11/1/12)
Still looking into the locking up the camera when using autofocus. Until then peeps manually focus before hitting the button to take the shot.
*Don't like the 4.2 Camera? Well.....Revert back by flashing this StockCM-Cam Package!
Thanks to elesbb and defcomg we now have the Nexus 4 camera that works on any device....given it's up-to-date enough to work!
Works great +thanks

Good man. To say the least. THIS **** IS DOPE AS A MOTHER ****ER! It is very forgiving when messing up and the stitching is better than the 4.1(.1) app.
took this just now in roughly 15 seconds. I tried my damndest to mess it up and it still did a beautiful job.

Same here. Still freezes unless i focus before taking the picture. Guess it is time for a full wipe, been a while. will report back. On cm10 latest stable, BTW
Update: full wipe complete and on CM10 latest nightly issue persists. One added new issue to report. Either freeze or it acts like or takes the picture (flash and all) with no freeze but it saves nothing to gallery! Weird. May try later on stock.

I use to use Camer ICS+ from the market but that also yeilds the same results, freezes the preview window if you dont touch to focus. Galaxy Camera Apps

I just received a Samsung Galaxy Camera. It's got a super camera app which actually USE the quad core processor. People on G+ have been asking me to post the apks. The device has an Exynos4412 processor so it's likely the GS3 will be the most compatible device with the Camera app. I'd like to see if they work on other devices or if they're locked to the Galaxy Camera.
So, I pulled some apps from my GCam and I figured I'd drop them off here. This zip includes:
PaperArtist
PolarisViewer
SamsungCamera_Galaxy
Velvet
VideoEditor_gc1
VideoPlayer
Here's the download: http://d-h.st/XFf
Legal: These files were pulled off a system image I found on the internet, so I'm not distributing anything that's not out there already.

Two apps installed normally. They were the video editor and the other one called "velvet" (Google search). Video editor wouldn't open, but the Google search worked normally. I didn't try to install paper artist because it is already working on jellybean for us, so I thought it would be a bit of a waste.
I an also running a deodexed rom, so I had no idea what to do with the odex files to be perfectly honest.

can you post the logcat? also, please install gallery as a system app. it's a great image editor too

The odex files just get stuffed in the /system/app folder with the rest of the system apps. The odex files just make the device start faster but they are required to be installed in /system/app for the app to work properly.

Maybe this is an stupid question but do you think that this will work on a GT-9100?
The camera will not run nor install (not even by manually moving to system and setting correct permissions on it and the odex)
Not even recognized.

I tried to install samsung camera app on my S3 but it did not do anything.
I added this apk file in system/app folder and changed permission and rebooted. But I could not find it in my apps.
BTW I was running SuperNexus rom, not sure if it has anything to do with it.

[Porting][6 Apr][4.2.1] GS4 Camera for GS3

Hello guys,
I manage to get the GS4 Camera apps running on GS3 JB 4.2.1 Leaked Version. Is still buggy but still usable for normal photo taking task. While working to fix the bugs, I thought of sharing this mod for anyone who wish to try this and maybe someone could help in fixing the bugs.
Here is a video of this apps running on S3 prepared by udimars30:
http://youtu.be/h5tnbgSADns
What is working and not working
1) Rear camera works fine up to 8mp setting. Could take photo with setting at 13mp but result is terrible.
2) Front camera works fine too.
3) Flash is working
4) Video recording is not working!
5) Beauty Face feature working
6) Best Photo feature working
7) Best Face feature working
8) Sound&Shot feature seem working
9) HDR feature working
10) Eraser feature working
11) Panorama not working
12) 360 feature not working
13) Sports feature working, I think so.
14) Night feature working
15) Effects like sepia, vintage, etc, not working
16) And Dual camera...too bad, is not working
17) Others settings - not yet tested.
Allright, if you wish to try, here is how:
(As usual, flash this at your own risk)
1) Make sure you are on Deodexed Samsung JB4.2.1 (XXUFMB3)
2) Download the zipfile below
3) Backup your phone.
4) Clear cache & Dalviks cache in cwm/twrp
5) Flash the zipfile
6) Reboot
7) Enjoy
