Sprint Pre Order from Wirefly - LG Optimus G (International)

Wanted to give anyone who was interested in preordering/ordering the phone, that Wirefly.com has the phone priced at $149.99. I'm considering jumping on that myself, even if it means getting the phone a few days later.

When preordering from wirefly, it asks about selecting a plan. I'm not sure if my line is the primary line, or if it's an add-on. It seems every time we upgrade different phones the primary line changes for no rhyme or reason. From those who have ordered from wirefly, does any of that really matter, or will sprint figure out it out based on the telephone number? The plans they are including through wirefly are $20 more than my current base price, not including the smartphone data charge.

Ive ordered through Wirefly before and not had it change my plan. As a suggestion, i would wait and see if letstalk.com will be selling it, there customer service speaks english and I never had a problem with them, I did have shipping issues and customer service issues with wirefly, and do not recommend them.

T-mobile TP2 - 149.99

Saw this on WinMo twitter( http://twitter.com/windowsmobile)
http://wmdeals.com/
It`s pretty scarce on detail, I guess it`s with 3 year contract. I figure I would post it for future T-Mo user...
EDIT: it's on a two year Contract.
If anyone gives it a try post your experience!
I used this deal back when I got my T-Mobile Shadow. I plan on doing so again for the Touch Pro 2, probably tomorrow. I'll post about how it goes!
A 3-year contract? People actually sign those? Aren't you (in the end) paying more than double?
That site doesn't even mention contracts... Where did you get the 3 year contract from?
It will require a 2 year contract, T-Mobile doesn't offer 3 year contracts.
Great deal
I already have a family plan that is maxed out (5 lines). Between myself, my wife, my 18 year old colege freshman, my 16 year old (HS junior), and 14 almost 15 yr old (sophmore) we were maxed out.
I ordered with this promotion getting a 2-line family plan (all activation, etc waived) and getting it for $300 + tax, etc for 2 of them shipped. Note that the promotion also includes other phones and the @Home package if you are so inclined. Awesome deal.
Basically, I am spending between $50 and $150 than many people and getting two of these phones for it. I had to get the new data plan. I have the old grandfathered $19.99 plan on my other phones and $10 unlimited family messaging plans... wish I could use the same plan.

So you now have 2 more lines than you used to have? Doesn't that cost about $70 more per month? That is $1680 for 2 years, FAR more than the difference of just buying 2 unsubsidized Touch Pro2s...
Would someone explain how this works, if you are already an existing T-Mobile customer? Do I have to call T-Mobile and cancel, then call this other number and sign back up? I know this deal saves $200, but this seems like a lot of trouble to go through. Plus, how do you keep your current phone number?
The number is T-Mobile Business Direct. They'll be able to handle everything on the phone with you.

My bad, I just assumed it would be the longest contract since it didn't mentioned anything.
I wasn't aware that T-mobile didn't have them, we sure as hell have them in Canada!
Thanks for the correction, good luck to the T-Mo guys, sound like a very descent deal!
T-mobile OEM on the AT&T network?
I'm wondering, if I buy the T-mo version, can I just SIM-unlock it and run it on the AT&T network, or will the radio ROM not work on the AT&T band? Any thoughts? sick of waiting for AT&T, and they're probably gonna fark up the keyboard anyhow.

Yeah 3 year contracts would suck! No U.S. carries have 3 year contracts. I actually select 1 year contract when I upgrade. I pay the same price as 2-year because I have AT&T Premier (you have access to Premier if you have a discount from your place of employment). This way I get to upgrade to the latest HTC phone every year. And every year around this time is horrible waiting for the next one to come out!

Lucky you, I mostly have to get unlocked phone which are expensive, no contract, but lotsa cash =/
Life was easier before 3G. I will mostly get stuck with crappy AT&T keyboard layout as well thought lol.
Called and ordered today, everything went down well
As an existing customer (off contract) my CS rep first offered to set up a new account (with a new phone#) or add an additional line to my existing account in order to take advantage of the deal. I asked if there was any way I could keep my # and get the deal, or if there was another deal somewhere in-between this and $350 the T-Mobile shops are asking.
She took a moment to check with her manager, who approved, and I got the deal with my current phone number, no problem. Also waived activation and added free shipping. Should have the phone by friday!
This is the 3rd or 4th time I've dealt with Business Direct instead of regular CS, and the folks there are amazing. Much <3 to Amy, my rep today

Nice! I played with the T-Mobile TP2 at my local T-Mobile store and I just can't wait to get my own! AT&T's version will supposedly release in October! So long!
I know most people hate the AT&T keyboard layout, but I prefer it.
Argh, perhaps I spoke too soon :/
The CS rep I spoke with had told me I should receive a confirmation e-mail along with a tracking # in my e-mail some time this afternoon, and that if I didn't I should call back to find out what was going on. So sure enough, no e-mail, so I called Business Direct back...
According to the rep I just spoke with, there was an "open order" on my account, but with no phone or contract details whatsoever. He could find no information about the voice/data plans I had set up, nor anything on the phone itself.
I intend to call back tomorrow, in the hopes that Amy (who had mentioned she was having trouble entering the data into the regular system and had to enter the information in manually(?)) has been able to clear this up. My fear is that another CS rep won't be able to give me the same deal Amy was able to work out with her supervisor. Bah!
Just called in and ordered a new line for our family plan and got the 149.99 price. The rep explained that since the TP2 orders have to be done manually it would take an extra day for the order to be completed. Phone should arrive 3-5 days.
Since I am already out of contract I will just cancel my current line once the Tp2 arrives. No Web plan was required to get this deal either. Just unlimited text messages which we already have on the family plan.
That's good to know, Kable. I'll give it some extra time to make its way through the system then

Yes, but I needed 2 more lines anyway because my family plan was already stretched to 5 lines and I needed a phone for my son and another phone line for my side business.
1 year contract
guys
read thro the thread. earlier, using business direct, i always got my wing(s) and shadow for 1 yr contract. any luck this time.
did any of the folks who already order it ask if 1 yr contract was possible?
thanks

Get your Tilt 2 with 2yr contract for $299 shipped next day

NOTE:
Information in this threat may no longer be as crucial as it was back in Oct 8, when phone was still unavailable for non-business customers. Since Tilt2 was released today, Oct 18, officially, make sure you explore all your options.
Price (WITH A NEW 2 year contract): $299 (NO REBATES), FREE NEXT DAY shipping with FedEx. NO CHANGES TO THE PLAN. AT all. Whatever plan u got - they don't touch it. (I get to keep my $19/mo unlimited data)
So, call this number: 866 499 8008 (corporate)
Tell them that you're not a business customer, but you _SHOULD_ be eligible for the Tilt 2.
They will ask for your number, SSN, etc, and will tell you that you're eligible and they have the phone (if it's not out of stock by that time... mine wasn't).
Say "YA BABY WOOO", then tell them that your wife/friend/cat got this phone thru this line for $299 shipped, NOT the $389 they may offer you. 5-10 minutes of persuasion and you'll get it. NO REBATES by the way.
Give em ur address, card number, boom - get ur phone next day.
Have fun. I'm getting mine saturday morning.
:dancing banana:
P.S: YES i know I posted this deep in another thread as well, but it will be buried in 10-15 minutes.. so to help people out (like me), here it is.
REBATE FORM (thanks to gmischenko): In addition, it seems you can get a $50 Mail-in-Rebate with Tilt2. You may not be eligible, but you should definitely try and send the form in.
Here is the Rebate Form
Oct 18 UPDATE: $199 Tilt2?
JML5150 is reporting that you can get a Tilt 2 for $199 with a new service plan HERE.
HTC Tilt 2 for $279
I was able to get offered the phone for $279 with shipping AND a one-time service credit of $30 or 3 months of a $15 service credit. The $50 mail-in rebate would still be available as well, bringing the total price down to as low as $184 ($279 - $45 - $50). This was calling 866-499-8008 and asking to speak with someone in Customer Retention.
To get this price, I was transferred to Customer Retention (or whatever it is AT&T calls it these days) and explained my situation. I explained that if AT&T could not offer a more competitive price/contract that I would cancel my service as soon as my contract is up (I am a current Premier customer, eligible for upgrade 10/15/2009 and contract ending 12/1/2009).
I declined. The reason: this still required a 2-year contract. Verizon is offering the same phone on a 2-year contract for $149.99 and on a 1-year contract for $179.99. Where I live, the Verizon & AT&T coverage is pretty much the same, as are the service plans/prices and my corporate discount. Therefore, the only distinguishing things are the length of contract and up-front cost for the phone, given the contract length. Verizon wins in both of these categories (not to mention the all black Verizon TP2 looking nicer IMO).
I switched from Verizon to AT&T last year when I got the HTC Fuze for free on a 1-year contract (this was the Black Monday sale on the Premier site the Monday after Thanksgiving). Long story short: I saw this sale about 5 days after I purchased my Fuze at 2-year contract price (1-year commitment because of my Premier discount) and it was a big hassle, but I finally got the first phone returned and my contract changed to 1-year (as was offered on the Premier site). I was excited to switch to AT&T because of the 1-year commitment with 2-year contract pricing, as well as the competitive pricing of AT&T phones vs. the other carriers.
Now I'm up for renewal and this is no longer the case. Everyone I spoke to at AT&T said that 1-year contracts are no longer offered by AT&T direct. AT&T National Business Orders (800-331-0500), AT&T stores, and independent sellers may offer 1-year contracts, but AT&T direct does not. Also, the AT&T price for the phone is more than twice the price that Verizon charges and AT&T can't even compete with Verizon's 1-year contract pricing. After explaining all this to the retention rep she offered me the phone at $279 with 2-year contract and 3 months of $15 service credit).
FYI: Speaking with Paul over at National Business Orders (800-331-0500) he gave me the following prices:
2-year contract: $349.99
1-year contract: $424.99
No contract: $499.99
SO, my plan is to wait a little bit. If the phone price drops to between $150 and $200 soon (or to $0 the Monday after Thanksgiving ) I will consider re-upping with AT&T (after speaking with Customer Retention again). I just can't justify spending AT&T's asking price right now, given that it is so much higher than their competitors and they do not want to offer a more reasonable 1-year contract price.
Excellent advice, gmischenko, once again proves that prices these days are something you wanna fight/threaten/yell about...
Good deal you got there, and definitely everyone should try that Pure/Tilt 2 rebate form to see if you can get $50 MIR.
Got mine ordered. I had to call the business number. She confided that people would call in and then the device would appear on the website for sale. She checked the website for me and the tilt 2 came up. When i looked again it was there for $349. Cant wait. Thanx for the tips. Where can I find the rebate form?

Someone with a Pure gotta put one up here for Tilts..
FYI guys, there is at least one person confirming that his data plan was automatically upgraded when he put his SIM into a Pure:
http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?p=13090202#post13090202
Says it took about 48 hours to register his phone in the system after he put his SIM in and then he got a text saying his plan had been upgraded.
i'm trying to get that deal gmischenko got or that get it for $199 where one member here said they got it for because he mentioned that Verizon were selling it for that price. tried at least 10 reps and the lowest i've gotten was 388. now they are closed so i guess i gotta wait until tomorrow mourning.

commas are your friend =)
If you're getting $388 without contract, that's pretty good imo.
If you're getting $388 with 2 yr contract, that's way too high.
Mention verizon deals, ask to speak with supervisor.. be polite.. i dunno =)

Does this link work for you?
I just ordered on the premier line number (called it in)
$349.00 is what I was given for pricing on the phone. She didn't know if I'd get another $50.00 rebate on that or not .. I decided I didn't care.
She did NOT ask anything about my data plan, or adding data to my plan. I ordered on my wife's number that does not have data on it.
Next day shipping was $14.00, but I'm expecting it next day anyway since I'm one day shipping from Memphis. I didn't want to chance it, and I figure next day delivery is more likely to deliver on a Saturday.
Yeah guys, I think the reason they are not asking anybody about their data plan is because the system is changing it automatically after it detects your IMEI.
Post back after you get your phones and let us know if your data plan changed (after the Online Account Manager detects your new phone).
In that other threaqd, the guy said it took about 48 hours of his SIM being in the new phne for the system to detect his Pure. he then received a text message saying his data plan had been upgraded.
He was not under contract, and bought the Pure at the no commit price (full retail).
Called the Premier number twice again. I had called yesterday and said what OP did, and was told they were backordered.
The first time, I was told I couldn't order it on the phone due to pricing inconsistencies. The second time, I was told it wasn't available until the 18th.
I suppose I'll just wait for the consumer launch?

same here, ordered late yesterday afternoon through premier. $349 + $14 for next day.
finally
just called again and was told that they are not allowed to sell it until the 18th because of the price inconsistency. she said that on the 18th, everyone body will be able to get the phone for the price that premier customers are getting it for. i'll try again in a few minutes.
UPDATE: so after calling a hundred times, i got tired of getting the 388 price and all that crap. so i said ''F it'' and called retention and told them i wanted to cancel all 5 of my lines because they are selling it for almost double the price of verizon. the guy went to go check something and came back and said that he could do it for 259.00 with the upgrade fee waived, free overnight shipping(i tried to use a rebate card i got from att but he said that it all has to be on ONE card, so he waived the 15.00 overnight shipping) also got a early upgrade so i just used it on a line that wasn't due for an upgrade until 2010.
Also, i asked for a tracking number but he said that the system wasn't showing a tracking number, but he gave me a conformation number and told me to call one of the ATT lines or something along those lines and give this to them and they should be able to tell me where my package is and so forth. my question is does anyone know how this work? which ATT line do i call? preimer or business? thanks

Clearing up preorder questions for RadioShack

I don't even know if I'm technically allowed to post this here...
Admins, I'm not specifically trying to sell anything, I just want to clear up some info on EVO preorders, at least from the RadioShack standpoint. If I need to word things differently, let me know, I'll be happy to change the post.
I'm the store manager of RadioShack. Currently, you can preorder the EVO from RadioShack for a $50 down payment. You pay $50 up front, we give you a gift card with the $50 on it you can use towards the price of the phone at time of purchase. If you decide not to go with the phone, the $50 gift card is non-refundable, but you can use it for anything in the store. The company is also throwing in a $20 credit for accessories that you can use at the time of purchase. The full un-subsidized retail price is $499, which you can preorder for as well. RadioShack requires that you be able to activate the phone, which means that you have to be eligible for an upgrade or eligible for a new line in order to preorder. It is not, however, a requirement to activate the phone in order to buy it.
We also have a trade-in program for any of your old phones, we can give you money back that you can use at the time on the price of the EVO. As a base for comparison, a HTC Hero in fair condition will net you about $90 back.
All the RadioShack stores inventory of EVO phones is based upon how many pre-orders we sell leading up to launch day, so if you preorder from us, you are guaranteed to be able to get your phone that specific day. We may be busy and you might have to wait until we can get to you, but we guarantee to have enough phones in stock to cover preorders. We are supposedly going to have several other EVO's shipped as well for those who did not preorder, but those will be sold on a first-come, first-serve basis. Your best bet is to preorder, that's the only way we can guarantee you get a phone.
I have personally had the opportunity to use this phone as part of inter-company training, and let me tell you: every rumor you've ever heard about this phone being fast as all hell is absolutely true. This thing is a beast. I've already pre-ordered mine, and anyone in the area is welcome to stop in the store. We're not allowed to show anyone or demo the real deal before launch date, but we do have a dummy models that I would think that anyone would be happy to show, so you can see how the real phone feels prior to launch.
So that's all I got, I'll post any more info as I get it.
I went to my local RS a week ago and asked if I could pre-order an unsubsidized EVO. I watched the employee call his district manager and ask if this was possible. The answer was a flat out "NO".
I have seen varying reports from different members, both here and at Android Central, who have asked this question at their local RS stores. Some say yes and some say no.
My question is: Why is this a variable phenomenon?? It should be either allowed at all stores or not allowed. Not left to the whim (or ignorance of policy) of the managers.
Please understand, I am not attacking you and I greatly appreciate the info you have posted. It's just starting to drive me nuts!!
EDIT: I am going to stop by the store again on the way home from work and ask if the pre-order policy has changed. I will report back what I am told.
i pre-ordered mine from the manager at a radio shack. i'm not eligible for upgrade and i told him i was planning to pay full price. he checked out my phone number on his system and said i can totally pre-order it and pay full price. also i have the everything plus family 1600 plan, and he told me i would simply need to add the $10 4g data onto the line with the evo but i wouldn't need to change my plan.
Thank you for the information I already preordered my EVO at RS but I didn't know about the trade in part and the sales agent didn't tell me about it either. Might be something to bring up to training, I feel this is something I should of been told about when ordering the phone. My G1 is nearly flawless have had a Full body skin covering it from day one wonder how much I'll get. Oh I also have a Dash can i turn in both phones?
yes, there is no limit to how many phones you can turn in. We also take mp3 players, gps units, and other small electronics.
CLARIFICATION: you can not preorder the EVO at RS without being qualified with Sprint. This means you must either be eligible for an upgrade, or be eligible for a new line of service. As far as I am aware, you do not actually have to activate the phone in order to purchase it. For example:
Say you do not have or want sprint service, or you are up for an upgrade but do not wish to renew your contract. RS associates will run your credit for a new line of service, or check upgrade eligibility. We do a preorder, you pay the $50 down for a gift card. When the phone comes in on the 4th, you can choose to just buy it outright, the price is $499, and you can use that $50 gift card towards the price of it.
Hope that helps.
Sweet! thanks for the info.
Btw, what's the difference between pre-ordering through sprint and pre-ordering through radio shack? Any reason i should go with one or the other? I have a radio shack to my left and a sprint store to my right... at this very moment.
And are you guys taking in iPhones?
I believe at the sprint store you actually have to pay 299 and mail in the 100 dollar rebate where RS instantly reduces the phone to 199 and they give you a 20 credit towards accessories.

The Sprint stores here are not taking pre-orders, AT ALL. Some will open an hour early and some won't.
I stopped by the Radio Shack store and asked the one employee there if I could pre-order without an upgrade or a new line of service and he said he wasn't sure but could see no reason why I shouldn't be able to. I decided to do it but when he looked for a gift card he realized that they were out. He made a phone call to what sounded like his manager and was on the phone with him for quite a while. After he hung up he said that there were NO gift cards anywhere in the district (due to the EVO pre-orders) and that there was no indication that there would be any more before the 4th! He offered to take my name and number to let me know if any more came in. He also told me the same thing that the employee from my previous attempt: call the store on the morning of the 4th and they would set one aside for me.
So, there it is. On the 4th I will be in line at the Sprint store. If it looks like it's out of control (which seems VERY possible) I will be calling Radio Shack and hoping they have some left.
The sprint store's price is $299, and then you get a $100 mail in rebate. At radioshack, the price out the door is $199. Also, at RS you get a $20 credit towards accessories.
And if a store says they have no gift cards, well, my store is in Bellmead, TX, (the north side of waco) and I have plenty of them.

LOL, it's only 100 miles plus change!
My mom used to live in Waco but moved back down to Temple. If she was still up there I would go "visit" her on the 4th.
Any chance that I can slide some money under the table and pick up my Evo earlier? How much earlier do you guys get the pre-orders? Will it be a week before launch?
Maybe I'll come with a Box O Joe and some donuts on me..
grr i applied for radioshack and got an interview but never a call back!!!!!

I wish. We probably wont get them till the day before though. And will be unable to ring them out until the 4th anyway.
nuformzdesign said:
yes, there is no limit to how many phones you can turn in.

You can pre-order one without being qualified IF you're buying it for full retail price.
I went to Radio Shack yesterday and surprise I was the very first one to pre-order phone at this particular radio shack.
The OP specifications were exactly correct. They gave me a $50.00 gift card. They ran a credit for me, I was eligible for five lines. I am a new Sprint customer.
Heck, I could've taken a phone for free, test it, and when the EVO arrives in two weeks, exchange it (of course buying EVO) since Sprint offers 30 day guarantee to test it.

I've seen the "loan phone" option reported in several Radio Shack posts now.
I just went to RS and I too paid $50 for pre order and got $50 giftcard but that RS employee did not run the credit check at all!
I am coming from ATT/iPhone. Not sure what's going on! Anyway, he asked me when I can come to pick it up and I said on 4th!
May be he will run the credit check on 4th?! But what if I am not eligible for any line with Sprint!?

I would go back in and have them do the credit check before the 4th so you know exactly what you need.
So, I read on another forum that Best Buy is giving out free bluetooth headsets with each EVO purchse (pre-order). Any plans by Radio Shack to up the ante?
doubt it!!

T-mobile Galaxy SIII $80 more than other carriers

Went online to buy the Galaxy SIII as Baltimore is not one of the top 30 markets included in T-mobiles launch of the "new Jesus phone".
I was forced to switch to a classic plan , previously had an even more plan for about the same features and cost but them when I looked at the pricing I see that T-mobile sells the phone for $80 more than Sprint, ATT and Verizon are for both the subsidized price and the full retail price.
What gives? Did I just sign up for a 2 new year contract only to be scammed into dishing out more money to T-mobile?
BTW, the Pebble Blue 32GB version is still backordered online.

By the phone outright. Pay full price, and sign up for a $30 a month plan, bring your own device. This, although contrary to popular opinion, is EASILY the most cost effective route. If you can not pay $650 for a phone outright, then you have a tough choice to make if you want instant gratification.
I just bought mine, and it was $300 after mail in rebate. I am annoyed to, but there is nothing I could do about it.
I'm a little annoyed too and will be watching T-Mobile closely. If they they have some super-Sale of July 4th (which is within the 14 day return policy) I hope they don't put up a fight.
In general, all prices should be good for 30 days on any product, with no-hassle price adjustments.

Well, if you need a data plan however and you're paying for it anyway I think it's better to get the device subsidized.
My last phone was the Galaxy S and I paid $500 with a $30 plan at the time. A year later, I realized I needed more talk time, mobile email I added a data plan as well. Now it doesn't make sense to pay full retail for the phone.
My biggest issue is even the full retail price from T-mobile is $80 more than other carriers. Is that the premium we have to pay for getting the phone from the carrier who had the device on the market before the other? (even though they were the last to make an announcements).
that part still doesn't make sense... 3 other carriers are selling the exact same phone for substantially cheaper. Why are TMo's prices hiked up?
free 50GB Dropbox isn't so free?
could it be they are trying to make us pay for the free 50GB dropbox by charging us $80 more?
The T-Mob version should be roughly the same as the ATT version. Unless the radio for the 42 MBps data is significantly more costly than whatever radio ATT uses, I don't see where the difference should be.
Even so, if I had $700, I'd be buying one outright today. My Vibrant would become a dev/backup device with no looking back.
Although I want one VERY badly, I am kinda glad that I am going to have to wait a bit more before I can afford it. This way I can monitor the S III topic here and see if there are any lurking issues before I buy.
I called customer care and they gave me a full months credit to get and use the savings to buy my phone
I would talk to rententions if you want to see if you can get a better deal. Depending on how long you've been with them, how long you've been out of contract, etc, they may be able to get you a better deal. The key is to be nice to them.
I already posted in the stickied thread, but I'll repost here:
Well, T-mobile continues to amaze me in a good way. Of course I was disappointed as everyone else with T-mobile's pricing, so I thought I'd give retention a call and see if they could do something.
I was really nice about it. I just said I'm looking to upgrade my phone from a Vibrant (I paid full price on the Vibrant, so I haven't been on contract for a long time). I've waited a long time to upgrade and I'm disappointed with the pricing. That's it. I wasn't rude or anything, just laid it out there.
The rep apologized for my disappointment and then she offered the following with no hesitation:
1. $200 credit to offset the cost of the phone. The credit has been applied to my account.
2. She said she could give me 500 more minutes on my plan AND reduce my monthly bill by $15.
3. She said I could pick it up in any store for $279.99 or call back on the 27th when they get them in their system at Customer Care.
4. I had overage on my bill for the first time. $100 worth. She took care of that too!
Bottom line, she gave me the phone for $79.99, saved me money on my monthly bill, AND wiped off overage.
Can't wait to get my S III once it's readily available. I won't mind the wait.

Hi!
I have a question to ask you, what type of plan are you on and is T-Mobile reducing your plan by $15.00 a month by giving you a $15.00 a month credit for two years, for example? Thanks!
What I think everyone fails to realize is T-Mobile has the best rates out of all carriers and you still end up saving even with the extra your spending on the device. T-Mobile takes that into account when pricing devices. So overall its not really all bad. Just seems like it when your dropping all that money up front.

for those of you who did call retentions, did you do so before or after ordering the phone? I ordered the 32gb pebble blue online, and after taxes and fees and whatnot, it came out to a little under 450... that seems quite high to me fore some reason.

Think they could still waive my activation if I was an angel to them? I'm just a student, lol. 450 stings a bit, but its looking like it'll definitely be worth it.
That's the same amount you would pay at amazon and on the go solutions but you get a bonus when buying from on the go solutions it will come rooted if I was to spend $700 on a phone that would be the choice I would make the international version are way better

for some reason, I was given a 6 months full upgrade without any notification. Would really love to get this but, the price on this is insane. Anyone walking into a target, bestbuy or any local chain will see 4 galaxy s3. who in their right mind would pick the tmobile at 90$ more? I was told by a support rep that their computer currently doesn't reflect the real value, so this is probably some release day insanity. they will probably automatically credit the difference, or at least i would hope so.

Thinking of buying this phone from Wirefly.

I am with Sprint under my dads account. It is a family plan with my sister, my dad and I. Heres my question, I just want to know if I can order safely from Wirefly without any fuse, in other words, they will send me my phone without attempting to change our plan, rise our bill or anything like that. I just want to upgrade my phone to the Galaxy Nexus with the same plan intact, nothing change. The reason I am asking this is because I once tried to order a phone from Amazon (at the same price of a normal upgrade), and they wanted me to get a brand new number and plan.
Thanks for your help.
P.S. I cant believe they are selling this phone for 50 bucks. I am awed ._.
Anyone?
it is only that price with a contract. they will make you sign up for 2yr sprint contract before selling you the phone.
yup confirmed
$49.99
with a new Sprint account
look right under the price tag in small writing

Hello latindor17: Wirefly can certainly upgrade your phone without changing your plan or the amount you pay every month (provided you’re not on an old grandfathered rate plan the carrier no longer offers, in which case you may be asked to choose a current rate plan – but if that were the case, Wirefly would always contact you for approval before proceeding with your order). Darunion is correct that you will need you renew your contract for 2 years in order to be eligible for the price on the website, but you do not need to get a new number, you may keep your existing number without a problem. There are no other hidden fees or charges, as long as you maintain your account in good standing (and don’t downgrade your plan) within 6 months of your activation date. For more information on this, please see http://www.wirefly.com/about/low-phone-prices/?referringdomain=wirefly&oflag=specialoffer.

What? I used Wirefly to get a Galaxy SIII as an upgrade on my T-Mobile account with absolutely no issues. They simply checked to see if I was eligible for an upgrade and once they verified that I was I purchased a Galaxy SIII as an upgrade for $200. They did not screw with my plan at all.
It was much cheaper than going through T-Mobile directly ($379 for the phone at the time) and they shipped the phone extremely fast. I'd use them again in a heartbeat.
** I should mention that I have since sold the Galaxy SIII and reverted back to the GNex because it just wasn't the same. But that's neither here nor there. :highfive:

What Ms. Kim said here is exactly why you SHOULDN'T go with wirefly or any other similar service. They make you sign an additional contract, apparently in this case for 6 months, that has NOTHING to do with Sprint. Well, technically it does since it stipulates you must stay with Sprint for 6 months, but this contract isn't with Sprint.
So, if you move, find a better deal, find a reason to terminate without an ETF, etc., you're still on the hook with this company for 6 months. If you like buying through a 3rd party, I think Best Buy and Radioshak both still don't require this anti-consumer tactic.
Wow. I didn't realize that when I did it. Luckily if you plan on sticking with your current contract for more than 6 months this won't effect you (like most people). But it would be quite annoying if you did need to switch carriers quicker than expected.
Good to know.

what reason could you find to terminate without an ETF though? as far as i know death is the only exception..and sometimes that doesnt even work
the stipulation (as i understand it) is that you just have to hold your end of the bargain for 6 months (something you already agreed to with your carrier by signing a 2 year anyway)...the reason for the 6 months is because thats the contract they have with the carriers..they recruit or keep customers for carriers and pass on the commission to us (which is why they can sell the phones cheaper)
its not like they are going to kill you if you break the wirefly contract..you just end up paying retail for the phone...as long as you are certain about the phone and plan that you are purchasing i dont see a problem...if you have buyers remorse or you don't do your homework and want to cut the cord..then yeah...you're gonna pay for it..thats kinda what happens when you break any contract (cell phone or otherwise)
i have been researching this company as well...reading customer comments and their fine print..im thinking about upgrading to the Note 2 through them...$300 as opposed to $420 with tmobile ($370 AFTER mail in rebate)
if kim from wirefly is still reading this...the phone is listed as $300 (for upgrades)...do you know what the end cost is gonna be? is it $300? or is there gonna be upgrade fees and tax and my first born?

I'm pretty sure no additional tax is charged on top of the listed price. I think T-Mobile charged me an upgrade fee but instantly credited it back to me on my next bill.

Hello Morphling,
Our 181 day rule is based on a contractual agreement that we have with the carriers. We don't get compensated for a sale from the carrier until after this time frame has been met. All 3rd party dealers have a stipulation period that customers must abide by even though the terms and conditions can vary from company to company, this is an industry standard. Let me know if I can answer any questions for you.

Hello jdiddy_ub,
The carrier will charge you an upgrade fee but this is only paid once on the first billing cycle following the upgrade. The taxes for the service is assessed by the carrier and varies depending on where you live. If you are keeping the same rate plan then your taxes should not be any different then what you are currently paying now. Let me know if I can answer any further questions.
