Humbled, need a little help - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

So I've had this phone 9 days, unlocked/rooted it a few hours ago and decided to try Cyanogen 10. I used ROM Manager to boot into recovery for the flash and now it's stuck on the splash screen.
I made a full nandroid backup before flashing but can't figure out how to manually get it back into Clockwork's recovery. Volume-down+power brings me to a robot telling me he's downloading something and not to turn off the target. I also made full ADB backups from the Nexus Root Toolkit before the unlock/root if anyone can tell me how to restore that way.
Flame away, I'm never this dude!

Volume up + volume down + power will get up into bootloader then u can select recovery.

What? You can press the Vol Up and Vol Down at the same time now and it registers? The wonders of technology.
Sarcasm off... Thanks, you just saved my ass (recovery successful). Now to figure out why Google didn't tell me that.

There's no problem with you coming to the forums to ask for help, but in the future, please try and post in the appropriate forum. This particular forum is not for general Q&A. I would think you would some better help over there.

Galaxy nexus boot loop need help urgent pls

so i installed gummy rom, tried sending a file via bluetooth and i went in a boot loop, so i got frustrated and went back to recovery and restored my back up rom from before and r/s and the phone went into boot loop, and got stuck at the boot screen.
So i took the battery out and tried to go into recovery manually by pressing three buttons and when i selected the recovery option i takes me to the screen where there is a android with a red sign and then it stalls and restarts it self to the boot loop. Dont know what to do, can some one please help i really need help. Please./
come on fellas 93 views and no help can anyone please help...
At the exclamation screen press volume up and down. Sounds like your cwr is gone and you will go into stock recovery?
Not sure if that will work.
Also maybe try pulling battery and then with battery out press volume up and down then put battery back in.

I cant see the video but you lost the cwm recovery.Pull the battery out and then place it again.Hit the middle of volume buttons and power. You are going to be in bootloader. With volume up go to option Recovery mode and select it with the power.Your phone after google logo is going to android with the exclamation mark(stock 3e recovery).Hold power button and then volume up and you ll see the options in stock recovery.Select the wipe data/factory reset and then reboot your phone.
Post back the result
ps you must start phone setup from scratch.I dont thibk that just wipe cache is going to solve your problem

Thank You.
Hey guys, I had the same issue on my GNex when on ICS. I tried this method and it got solved. Later I updated to JB and again Bluetooth caused a bootloop, again did this method and the problem got solved.
This is getting really annoying now. How can I permanently avoid these bootloops as each time my ENTIRE data gets deleted. Please help me.

[Q] How do I get SU back? I broke it...

After flashing a JB rom and a corresponding JB Super SU zip this morning, I accidentally uninstalled the Super SU thinking I had a different SU app already. Turns out I didn't, and now I don't know how to get it back. I flashed the SU zip again in recovery, didn't work. But now nothing requiring root access works, so I can't even get back into recovery as far as I can tell. What do I do to get root back?
UPDATE: No matter what kind of weird things you may have done to your GNex, if you happened to have screwed up your SU abilities somehow, these next few posts will most likely help to guide you. I screwed mine all up to hell, and these guys helped me remember what was going on and what to do to fix it.

Reflash the ROM.
Try getting into fastboot, through the volume and power keys when the device is shutdown.
Happened to me before, that was the only solution.
you can download the superuser app from the market

I DID IT AGAIN!!
I didn't learn my lesson, and kept screwing around with the super user apps, and I ended up removing the super user binary. (what is wrong with me?) So this is a little more serious... Now what do I do?
I'm not a noob rooter (rooted my OG Droid 2 years ago and kept up with development, now the same with my GNex) but I guess I somehow got around having to deal with SU issues the whole time.

Do you have CWM installed? If so, just flash this in recovery.

That's all I use, but I can't get to recovery. I'm running stock JB rom, so there's no option to reboot into recovery from the power menu, and since I don't have super user, no app can get the permission to reboot into recovery either. I can power down and boot into the bootloader (or whatever that is) holding the volume down and power buttons, but I don't see how that helps.

if you can get to the bootloader, scroll using the volume keys to get to 'recovery mode' and select that. that is recovery and you should hopefully have CWM or TWRP still installed.
bah... blowtorch is faster

Once your at the bootloader, you should have the choice to boot from there into recovery, though it's been a while since I've done it that way so cannot give you the exact steps. You should be able to use the volume keys to highlight the recovery option and then press the power button to choose it, I believe.
But you may have lost CWM, since JB could have over-written it. If so, you'll need to use fastboot to re-install it, after which you can use CWM to apply an SU zip from your internal SD card.
Thank you blowtorch, Zepius, and high vista! It was having both vol buttons pressed that I had completely forgotten about. That solves the problem and dams up a flood of questions that could have been had I not gotten that minor detail in.

hboot / bootloader <-- cant get there

Just got my s2 a couple days ago. went ahead and rooted it, threw on a Jedi Knight. I wound up switching recoveries to twrp as well. i like to flash roms alot till i find what i like best (dont we all). I wanted to try pa 2.52 but was unable to get it to bootup so I restored Jedi Knight.. I hit up the pa thread and people mentioned formatting internal storage. So I did that, and managed to get pa 2.52 on without any problems.. In the reboot options bootloader is not there.. So I started with my battery pull options to get there and nothing seems to be working..
some battery pull scenarios:
volume + & power = 1 vibe, samsung logo, let go >> boot back to rom. If I hold past 1 vibe, more continous vibes and no boot up at all
volume - & power = same as above
volume +- & power = 1vibe, samsung logo, let go >> recovery. If i continue to hold past the logo and then let go >> boot back to rom.
I'm trying to get to hboot just so I can see my s-off status & radio versions.. Much thanks..
Boot loader and s-off are for HTC phones not Samsung phones

I can see someone is coming from an HTC phone haha... If you are on the the T989 booting in download is volume down+volume up + power, or recovery mode its volume down + power.
That would be why I am familiar with them.. I left my incredible and got the s2. Is their anything similar to that for us or no? Not that it makes a difference..

Hello I was attempting to get into my bootloader and I can't. If I am in the phone and press the power button I get the option to reboot if I click that I have the option to reboot into recovery, reboot into bootloader, or just reboot. Why have the option to reboot into bootloader if there isn't one?
I thought I booted into the bootloader to factory rest my SGH-T989 when I purchased it from someone was that not the case? was I booting into some sort of recovery?

Yes, you booted into Download mode which is the mode needed to flash your phone over usb with a tool called odin. In most cases it doesn't wipe the /data or /emmc partitions though so the best thing to do is to use the factory restore in android or your installed recovery.

Hold Volume up&home +power until the phone vibrates, then let go of just the power button (continue holding vol up&home).
Once you're in recovery you can flash a different rom, restore a backup, etc.

Make sure your battery is charged to at least 70%. Once done try entering recovery again by holding down vol up + power + home key at the same time until you see the blue text on the upper left hand corner and then let go. If this doesn't work you should be able to enter download mode with vol down + power + home key. If so I'd recommend flashing back to complete stock using ODIN on your pc and start from scratch.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda premium
I think people make it more complicated than it needs to be. Press the power button. When the phone vibrates, release it. Hold home+vol up until you see the recovery booting blue text, then release those.
Holding the power button puts the phone in a boot loop. Something I used to do on occasion until I learned it in fact didn't need to be held at all.
you can do this too...wipe data and factory...sometimes happening when i flasshing via odin

[Q] n7100 cannot enter download mode stock rom not rooted

Hi guys, I just got my note 2 couple of months ago and finally decided to root it. I am familiar with rooting since my HTC Desire HD days. I have already prepared all the tools i needed to root but when I tried to enter download mode (vol up + home + pow key) I only get to recovery mode with lying android and a red mark above its belly. Have tried different forums, some suggested to hold pow, then press vol up key, but does not work for me. Tried wiping cache and factory restore, still no go. android 4.1.2 installed.
Please help. Thank you
