He doesn't seem to be good at timely answers. My wife heard All stores are only getting 5 each and I asked him if it was true and its been half an hour ago and still no answer. I told him I need 2. I'll ask but can't promise timely answers.

I'd like to echo this sentiment. From what I've heard, from people's dealings with AT&T customer representatives, there's a thought that the white version will be available on Friday in stores. I really want the white version... so... can we get a yay or a nay?

replace S3 with SGN and we are brothers!!! my power button also doesnt work on the the 3gs, i really am itching, the only thing i like is that i can get 2 weeks of crap before my glorious screen returns!!!

I will be at the store nearest me at 8:30 Friday morning to try and get one. I am *so tired* of getting the runaround by ATT reps. First the inability to preorder online, then the phone rep telling me there's nothing she could do and they had no idea, and to go talk to a store. One store telling me that I could come back in a few days and preorder it from them, then saying a few days later they didn't even have the SKU in the system. *Then* that same store told me I wouldn't have a hard time at all getting one, however, I called back yesterday and they said "We aren't getting very many, you might want to be here early." ARGH. This shouldn't be this frustrating.

My local store just call me to let me know they have more than enough in @ the Town Center Jacksonville, Fl. Too bad I got a really good deal via premier support by phone. They were going to give me the phone for 299 with some freebee's but was adding a line and just keeping with no phone/data on it. 9.99 a month...Premier CSR gave it to me same price and did an early upgrade (6 months early!). I'm happy.

Just got one from my local store. Got the last one. They only had 2.

This really sucks. I went to an at&t store and waited until they opened this morning. They had 5 galaxy notes for sale but they would not sell me once because I would not sign a new contract. I tried buying the phone for full price and they told me it could be over a month before they are able to sell the GN2 off contract. I called customer support who actually called the store because they couldn't believe they wouldn't sell it to me. Customer support ended up saying its up to the manager to decide if they have limited stock...blah blah blah.
Terrible customer service from at&t as usual. I don't know what to do about it now because even customer support would not let me order it from them directly on the phone. I have a business account with them so I am waiting to hear back from my company rep but this BS should be allowed to exist. I am literally willing to give them $650 + tax for a phone and they won't take my money. If it wasn't for my grandfathered unlimited data plan than I would think about leaving them. Does anyone have any similar experience or suggestions on how to make this happen for me? I really wanted to get a GN2.

I guess it could be up to the manager but why didnt you plan on hitting a few at&t stores, not just one? I'm sure others wouldnt mind taking your money.

Galaxy S2 White - Backorder - Who else is suffering?

So I just joined tmobile a few days ago and i ordered a Galaxy S2 (White) and on the phone they told me it was in stock and ready to ship. I even opted for overnight shipping. That was 5 days ago.
After calling tmobile they explained to me that they are completely UNAWARE of an items stock until the item is actually ordered. This is poor inventory organization to me. So I asked how long they think it would take, and they told me that there is no sure way to find out. It could be 2 weeks, it could be 2 months.
The best part is, they started immediately charging me for my account THE DAY OF ORDER. and when i brought that up they told me there is nothing they can do about that refunding wise. But i do have the option to cancel service alltogether.
This is messed up. Anyone else on backorder? Previously on backorder? How long did you have to wait?

Sounds to me like you need to get back on the phone and complain until they put you in touch with someone who is going to make things happen for you. That's pretty poor service. I haven't had any issues with backorder but I have had my spats with tmobile. Just keep calling, keep your cool, and keep asking for someone with more authority.
I'm curious to see how it unfolds.

I totally agree! I said to them that i left sprint for them, and how are they showing me that they deserve my business? The man on the phone literally says "Im not sure"
I heard they will not be making the white GS2s anymore. Anyone on Craigslist wants $450+ for one in my area.
Call tmobile and choose cancel in the IVR system. That will take you straight to retentions where you can plead your case. Good luck.

Just because it is $450 (which for a no contract device like this is actually cheap compared to the $699 msrp) doesn't mean they arent making them anymore. Yes they are limited edition, but still advertised on their website, as well as wirefly etc

Yep... should have done your research before switching. T-mobile has the cheapest prices (per month) but has the most awful customer service and is always last in line for the next best phone.
I am on your side but really, T-mobile has been going down the tubes and if you read any sort of tech news, you should know this.

Yea that's a jacked situation, I just upgraded to the White SGSII, went to Wal-Mart, cause I know T-Mobile CS is the worst in the business as of right now, got it for 148.88 plus a 50 gift card, so its like a 100bucks, cancel and go to Wally World.

I would go to another store immediately if they didn't honor the promotion for the Galaxy S2. They charged me $29.99 for the White Galaxy S2
I'd say go to target I just left sprint also and picked up a white and black gs2 from target for 99.99 each took a few days for them to get the white one from there warehouse since they didn't sell them yet at that store but got the lower price. Also data is a lot faster with tmo
got mine from Walmart for 148.88 with a 50 gift card. Took me 10 minutes in and out.

When I ordered my white GS2 during the recent FAR promo via csr, I got an email later that day saying phone was back ordered. I called the next day only to be told by different csr phone is not on back order, but will be shipped that week. All things considered, I'm surprised about the poor inventory tracking system. so, agreed on that point.
Anyways, the phone was shipped couple days later and received it within a week. so, I suggest giving them another call and see what the status is. Good luck!

No such thing as a upgrade department and no retention can't see stock in real time no one can. The only difference rentention has is they have a different order system but if customer care has it backordered then so do we.

Best Buy not authorized to sell Sunday?!

Just stopped in to my local BBM store and talked to the manager of the location and I was told he was blocked by the system trying to sell one yesterday. System has them blocked until tomorrow. Anyone else having issues?

All of the local bestbuy stores to me have useless (or carefully uninformative) employees. One store told me it wouldn't be in until black friday, another said to check back monday because that's when the trucks come with new stock.
I would buy from AT&T, but the black tie plan is worth it's weight in myrrh. I'll wait until I can be insured with no deductible.

Outright geek squad can be returned at a pro-rated cost so it's really not beneficial to pay monthly if you think about it like that. Right now I'm waiting for them to say my Note 1 is not reparable so that they "junkout" my Note 1 so that I can get my Note 2 at no cost (actually ending up with $100+ in store credit)
Oh and it's not Best Buy that is holding onto the launch til Sunday. We have a hard street date of 11/9 for the ATT Note2 it's just that a bunch of stores did not get them in yet.
This reminds me of the SGS3 release when people did not get their phones for a week past the release date and some 2 weeks.
Same story here in St.Louis...was there and the AT&T Friday morning when they opened at 9am...now the AT&T store has one reserved for me at 11 am Sunday morning when they can sell them...They hadn't even put one out at the AT&T store yet till I asked to see one..BB didn't have any out or in the back...nor any cases for them either..Both places had them inbound along with the new LG one coming out..
Can hardly wait till I have mine home...I've been using a I-phone 4s for the last 3 months (very long story )...and been playing with my Captivate for the last week loading different JB roms...missing the hell out of it when the good wife gave me her upgrade and I jumped at the chance..She was holding out for a new 5...but seeing them she decided she liked her Cappy the way I had it fixed up and can wait till my upgrade hits next August She likes JB

Another kid before Christmas here. I went through the warranty dept. My upgrade is May. I got several doa refurb GS II's, so they gave me a One X refurb. I was just going to let that hold me over until the GS IV when I qualify. But its got stuck pixels, the refurb I got to replace it was scratched and on the unrootable update, so I sent it back. Now that the update was rooted I was going to get another. I asked if I could somehow get a new one instead of another refurb. They said sure ... For $99 with early upgrade. Instead I asked for a Note II, on Monday. They said I would have to wait until yesterday, they couldn't pre-order an early upgrade. So I called really early Friday morning so I could get it overnighted and play with it over the weekend. Turns out I got standard shipping instead. So I may have to take Wednesday off work, or a half day.
It all worked out though, I called back to see if Wednesday was really when its expected, and asked again about the $199 price match. I got a $128 credit, so I faired pretty well. But, I may overload the UPS mobile site with all my refreshes until Wednesday.

The store had them, but couldn't sell them. A friend (Best Buy employee) has told me he couldn't get one for Sprint yet either until Monday, even though it's been out they can't sell it for whatever reason.

Still none in the DFW area.
The Sprint Note 2 had a street Date of today at Best Buy. The Att could've been sold on Friday, problem is most stores didn't get any Friday.

I picked one up (white) at the AT&T store in Roosevelt Field Mall in Long Island, NY. They had two when I walked in and before I left I overheard
another customer asking for it.
Yeah, a few AT&Ts had it in my area but I want to get it from Best Buy. Silver Rewards gives me 60 days to return with no restocking unlike AT&Ts 14 days and a restocking fee.
It is now showing up as available at all stores in my area for pickup (Buffalo, NY). It looks like att had the weekend head start. I will be going to pick up my preorder as soon as they open today.

i ordered my Note 2 from AT&T on Monday (straight off their website) and apparently it's on backorder.
anyone here have any experience with their shipping system? this is my first time ordering a phone off their website, and definitely my first time on backorder with them. was curious how long i should expect to wait before seeing my phone.
I ordered mine from a Premier phone rep. She said it was back ordered, but it shipped the next day.

i ordered it online because none of the stores in my area had it in stock on monday (closest one that had it in stock was 80 miles away). i called around and asked. guess i'll just have to wait and see how long it takes.
i was checking for the white version, btw. i'm kind of deadset on it, just prefer the way it looks by far over the grey.

I ordered on Saturday the 24th and was told it was in stock, then I called yesterday and they told me it was on back order, I got so mad at them for telling me one thing, and it was not true. Just an FYI the online matched the in store price for me. On black Friday my local att store was having buy a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 for 300 get the note #2 for 50.00 or a SG3 for free. I took the SG3 and sold it, and called the online division and asked if they would use my upgrade and sell me the note 2 for 50.00 and after getting the ok from his boss I am getting the Note 2 for 50. Can't wait to get it hope it is not on back order to long

I've been checking my local stores 2 or 3 times a week since launch, but haven't managed to get one yet. I did find one in stock last week, but when I got to the store, the line was out the door and I didn't feel like waiting.
At this rate, it sounds like I might as well just wait for the Note 3.

well, after my third phone call to AT&T about this i was informed that the phone is NOT on backorder, the fulfillment center has my order in their system and is still processing it.
there is nothing they can do to expedite the process, they said check again on Monday and if it hasn't shipped by then call customer service yet another time.
how hard is it to package a phone and ship it off, seriously?

I purchased my SN2 from Walmart wireless.com today for $299.99 with a $100 e-gift card and no tax. My shipping status shows awaiting inventory and before I ordered it there was a message saying it could take up to two weeks. I guess I will just wait and see what happens. From my research all of the other retailers in the area have the phone in stock or just got it in stock expect for Walmart. I am sure this is due to the $100 gift card. Anyone else order from Walmart wireless.com?

A big +1 to AT&T Retentions!

A few weeks back I called a rep to ask about my ETF to cancel and go to Verizon for the Note II. The lady I spoke with offered me the Note II for $249. I didn't t buy the phone at the time. The rep noted it on my account. I called back last night and spoke with another rep.
He honored the offer, even though I wasn't told all the details correctly the first time I called, and long story short, I renewed my contract and have a Note II on the way.
I ended up paying $312 {289.99 +tax) and got bill credits totalling $97, free overnight shipping and he waived the upgrade fee.

I love ATT Retention dept as well. They gave me $100 in credit just because I said I was thinking of switching to T-Mobile. Didn't have to upgrade or anything. They just gave it to me.

ATT has been nothing but fantastic this time around. I am actually coming from Verizon and I wanted the Note 2 on a couple of our 5 lines. However, Verizon was being very...unfriendly towards my interest with this phone. We had 3 lines that were ready for upgrade immediately. However, in trying to sign our new 2 year contract to Big Red, they wanted a $30 upgrade fee per line. Additionally, two of our lines were going to lose their unlimited data. The third was going to drop from 4GB down to 2GB per month. They were in no way willing or interested in working with me to keep me as a customer. So, I immediately requested to cancel all lines of service. They threw a fit at that but that's a different story. In any event, I wound up doing a bit of shopping around for an alternative carrier. After deciding on ATT, I visited my local Best Buy due to the ATT corporate store being crazy busy during my lunch break. Best Buy got me set up with the Note 2 and also price matched Amazon Wireless. So, I walked out that day with 3 Notes for $175 a pop. However, the guy at Best Buy somehow set our share plan on different data plans per line. This next bit is where ATT customer service shines. I called in to have the matter addressed. It was a super friendly call from start to finish. I wasn't upset to begin with but had I been, the rep was super friendly and I'm sure it would have been de-escalated. At the end, to compensate me for the "inconvenience" of having to call in, she waived my first months bill entirely. That's what I call customer satisfaction. ATT might not have the same coverage, call quality, or speeds when compared to Verizon in my local area. However, the customer service more than made up for it in my book.

Wow, I'm jealous. But I don't think BBuy would've done that for me - I wasn't eligible to upgrade till June of next year.

This was from AT&T retention department....I just asked them if they could match this price before I bought it from BB.
Just wanted to say thanks for this thread.
I purchased two SGN2's last week at an ATT store, as they were the only ones carrying them in my area. We got the $100 off the second phone deal. After seeing this I called them last night and got the response to call a different number that wasn't currently open. She did credit my activation fees though ($86).
This morning, i called the number she referred me to and they said they did not handle that type of thing, Then forwarded me to another dept. After being disconnected and calling back the rep kindly credited me $120 to my account, I did not want to push the Amazon Wireless price and I am extremely happy with this.

A couple weeks back I was having problems with my Galaxy S 2 that I already had replaced under warranty for factory defects, This time around was a charging issue. (Always says its charging) So I asked them if they would be able to allow me to upgrade because I was extremely unsatisified with the phone and they went ahead and upgraded me. I told them about XDA people reporting getting the phone for 199 from other reps and that Amazon Wireless was running a special for 199. They had me pay 330 which was about the price for the phone and the tax for it, waived the upgrade fee and credited my account a whole 150 bucks. Needless to say I was very satisfied, On top of that she even through in 2nd day delivery. So I had my replacement device within days, and my phone bill this month was a mere 30 bucks.

i just dialed 611 went to the upgrades/service change option and chose other. I talked to the girl and asked her if they would price match that offer and she said yes. I had not already ordered he phone though so i did it through her. It all depends on who you egt to deal with in the long run.

I just got off the phone with them for a completely different issue. The price of the device wasn't an issue for me. I got my Note II for only $63 and some change. But, anyway, I saw a thread on another website, where a lot of people were complaining about our devices not coming with the much vaunted multi-view capability. There were many people reporting that when they complained to AT&T about it and threatened to cancel service, as a way of trying to give them an incentive, AT&T offered either a large one-time credit or a temporary monthly reoccurring credit. The typical result was getting $10 knocked off your bill for 12 months. Sure enough, just before I got off the phone with the retentions rep I spoke to, she offered me $10 off my bill for the next 12 months as a way for AT&T to apologize to me. I'm quite happy about that.

I spent an hour and a half on the phone with them today. The best I could talk my way into was a discount to $274.99 and a $100 credit on my bill. I guess considering my upgrade isn't available until may 13 its not all bad. I kept throwing the amazon deal out but they wouldn't price match it outright on the device.

I can't seem to get my hands on one yet everywhere I went today had said they were sold out already. Hopefully this phone beats the sales of every other smart phone on the market!

One thing is for certain...they are not selling like hotcakes, simply because the device is only available through customer care, online, or at a very few select corporate retail stores and the occasional Costco etc. The vast majority of none corporate stores do not have them in stock yet. The 15th...maybe...who knows for sure. Perfect example is the VERY busy T-Mobile store down the road from me (Portland, OR), does not even have the One yet, let alone the GS4. The kicker is they don't even know for sure when either phone will come to their non corporate store. A very large percentage of Tmo's base gets their phones through these 3rd party Tmo stores....and they are still in the dark. It really has been a colossal blunder of a launch for both phones.
Uncarrier is great...but they need to focus on strategy and having some sort of nationwide information network for their employees, where all Tmo branded retailers are able to give the exact same response...to someone from Portland, Maine to Portland, Oregon.
Glad I got mine through customer care with next day air... I must give Tmo credit, as that went very smoothly.

While you wait maybe get a case and (glass) screen protector too. This thing is so fragile, you don't even want to risk a minute playing hot potato with it. I've already had several close encounters, but luckily my Spigen glass and case are here. Looks great with it!
Just picked up my first Android device last night. Black S4. T-Mobile made the process pretty easy. In and out in 20 minutes. I come from a jailbroken iPhone 4, been using iPhone since the 3GS came out. Got super bored of it and hated the tiny screen. So now I'm off my family's AT&T plan and boy HSPA+ > 3G. Several people in the store were buying the S4 and they had plenty in stock.

I got lucky and ordered mine online the day they came out. It was actually a real hassle since I was a new customer and they online order bit didn't work and I ended up having to call them to finish the order and then they sent me a pre-pay SIM card instead of a post-pay SIM card which eventually had me wind up at a T-Mobile store to fix all of their mistakes. Hope you get yours soon and with less hassle than me.

Surprised PDX wasn't carrying at that time, on the 8th almost all the Beaverton/Hillsboro stores were selling them. The store in Cedar Hills started selling them the night of the 7th because they just had them sitting there.
But glad you got yours timely after ordering with Customer Care.
