Is there a way to disable the home buttom ?

I'll be doing something and then my hand slides over it and ****s up everything. Just to be clear I mean the home button on the device itself. Not on ics. Thanks in advance!

Capacitive Buttons

Any way to completely disable them? Running AOKP and would like a Nexus-like experience. I know we can disable the lights, I don't want them to work at all.
Get a button remaper app and remap it to focus for all 4 keys.

Get a root explorer. and either mod/delete System > Usr > Keylayout > melfas_touchkey.kl
I would delete it. Then they shouldnt work at all.
EDIT: you are going to have to delete more than just that one. I believe you are going to have to edit Generic.kl and possibly qwerty.kl as well. Let me extract them and look at them side by side in notepad++
Okay here flash this attached file and you should be golden. ive edited all appropriate files.
Thanks for the zip, it works perfectly.

Nope the zip just disables the ability to press them. Lights and everything else controlling them will well should still work. The zip just says to android that search menu back and home buttons aren't available. Just the same as a galaxy nexus or tablet would.

Here is the zip to enable the keys again. Happy hacking
Thanks again for the zips. One question though-these two zips compatible with all ICS ROM's???

You should probably make a little thread with that enabler/dis-abler zip in the apps section of t989 because i'm sure there are alot more people that would find this very useful..
Just sayin, and thanks

Hey I was wondering, how do I turn the capacitive button lights off permanently. Also is there a way to have them off but still have BLN available? Right now mine stay on while I use phone, like they're supposed to but I want them off.

Disable power button when locked

Hey all,
Due to the size of this phone, I am almost always pressing the power button as I take the phone from my pocket. Then as I continue to remove it the phone ends up unlocking.
Is there a way to disable the power button when the screen is locked?
Sent from my GT-N7105T using Tapatalk 2
So I'm guessing that this can't be done?

I accidentally thanked your post. So I thought I'd grace you with an actual written response too. I'm pretty sure there isn't an app that could do this, but with root it could be possible. If you could for example integrate some type of action to disable the lock button in Tasker it might work.

Thanks for your reply. I'll look into your suggestion. Pity I can't just do it, coz surely I'm not the only person with the issue!
Sent from my GT-N7105T using Tapatalk 2
In this situation I would just enable the lock screen option, that way even if the phone screen accidentally turns on the phone would still be locked.

How to get floating multi window

Disclaimer: I am not responsible if anything happens to your phone by following these steps nothing should happen but if something occurs dont come crying to me
First what you do it get exposed framework and install it (look up how to get it)apps shown in first picture.
Second thing is find android ui shown in second picture.
Third thing to do is change the resolution shown in the third picture you can change it to 600×1024 or 800×1280 doesnt matter which and dpi doesnt matter but you can change it to your liking
Fourth thing is hit the save button on top right and reboot and if done right the multi window should have a pin shown in fourth picture.
Fith thing is enjoy and if you followed these steps correct you have floating windows like in the fifth picture
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk 2
One thing is I found out that recents wont come up by holding the home button may differ on yours but the way I got around it is using gmd guesture control and made my recents come up with 2 finger swipe up from bottom I like it better but that is the onpy bug I have found so far
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk 2
I got device incompatibility error in play store after changing system dpi
What did you change it to and your on a note 2 right and if you want I can post a picture of my setup that works perfect
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk 2
I also said you didnt have to change dpi just the resolution

Thanks for the awesome tip, but quick question...with this mod, are you able to minimize the floating windows, or is there no way to do that?

That's not exactly what I meant. I knew it could do that, but I mean like actually minimizing the floating app, like how you do on a regular desktop OS. I remember I saw it somewhere on the International Note II forum, but I didn't know if it was possible on the AT&T version.
Your probly thinking of pop up browser... you can minimize it
After I make the change and reboot my lock screen is enlarged. Any suggestions?
Sent from my AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note 2
Change dpi to 260 that's what I did I posted the picture of it
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk 2
This is pretty sweet. 4 apps running on 1 screen.
I did everything it says to do and for some reason nothing happens when i reboot and i try it
Anyone who needs help is more then welcome to PM me and get help

Seems very cool. Only think that sux is. The long press home button doesn't turn on the flashlight anymore.. Running tweaked

Hmm... I wonder if that holds true for any lockscreen app. Most likely does... interesting though.
Yeah I agree, I don't use flash as much as I should. I'll email the devs to see if they're planning on doing widgets or some sort of gesture for flashlight. Turning the phone sideways triggers the camera which is cool.
