5hr 36min screen on time :) - Droid RAZR M General

Well I am thoroughly impressed.
Today I got some AWESOME battery life.
My phone, as it stands, is a dev edition, bootloader unlocked, rooted, JB OTA, debloated, Nova Prime launcher, SetCPU running 1512 max, 384 min, interactive governor, and deadline scheduler, auto-brightness display.
These screenshots are the reason for my smile. (Take notice, no bump charging or anything. Took it off the charger when I left for work and stayed off the charger til just now)

This is amazing. Is this all on 4g? I'm about to trade a nexus for this RAZR m and wondering on battery life

I am on 15h 19min with 25% to go
56% was voice Call at 3hours and 30min
You can easily push 20 Hours with this thing on light usage

Yes this was all on 4G in downtown Chicago inside a concrete building with lots of metal bars everywhere (I work at the fed prison). You can see my signal strength in one of the screen shots for the duration of the battery life. Lots of solid green but a little bit of yellowish green also.
W/ that said, I have been unable to match that time. Usually get around 3 to 4 hours screen on time. Plenty enough for a full day.

I made the trade today. My wife works in a ****ty service area and I am hoping this phone helps. I must say, this phone is a powerhouse. 240 MFLOPS is crazy lol. Camera is OK at best but I think all the other areas are well above my expectations. It was already rooted so I went ahead and cleaned up some things. Tomorrow will be the test though. But so far I am extremely impressed with this device

Ok, how bad is your battery life?

I know there are a million threads on battery life here and on other forums. But I am curious before I take the dive into the EVO (buying outright without an upgrade).
How bad is the battery life?
and
How wide spread is the screen separation issue?
I intend on buying the EVO and then trading to the EPIC when its released then deciding which to keep for the next year until I do have an upgrade.
Battery life will probably be the key determination for me between the 2, I need every last second of power I can get.
Captivate guys are saying 5% an hour under moderate use 2% under light- I can tolerate that. But its a GSM phone and they typically have better batter life anyway. No one can really tell what the Epic will do until we get one.
If I don't touch my phone and idle it I can get 24+ hours. light/moderate I can get 8+, heavy I pretty much have to keep it plugged in.
I got 2 days on a single charge last weekend, barely used and was basically on a 2 day drinking binge. Probably could have gone a bit longer but I plugged it in first chance I had. I can easily get through a day with medium use. Maybe light in the morning, more medium - heavy use in the afternoon but can still make it home knowing I have some charge. Or if I get sidetracked for a couple hours at the local watering hole I know I'm still safe.
I feel a lot of people want to best their last battery time though, sometimes after a decent day of use I need to juice it for a while before I go out that night. Any decent phone these days, with the things they can do, can be dried out pretty quickly with heavy use. But once you get more into the regular use of the device it is more than suitable, IMO. Not to mention other steps can be taken to make sure you get the best performance out of the phone, battery included.
I've been leaving my GPS on lately, keeping sync constantly on, just to see how big of a hit it will really deal during the day. It's not really noticeable yet. One thing I have noticed though, honestly, is that in the beginning when my phone was off it seemed to really use a lot of battery. But now when not in use it's almost as if the battery takes a very minor hit, if a visible one at all. Went to sleep last night with 70% left and woke up it was reading the same. Responded to emails, sent some texts, checked the weather for no reason, and left it idle for an hour. Still sat at that 70% mark, even though that is a slight estimate in terms of battery charge meter. Might have been nearing more to the 60 but still showed 30% as used.
this is a screen shot from when i had cm6 7.27 build. i'm running the 8/2 build right now and its about the same.

Battery life

So far I've experienced excellent battery. I charged it fully when I got it home, and then unplugged it. Here are my results on an uncalibrated battery with moderate use except for when it sat overnight.

Not to shabby. This was with background data on, auto sync off, with the only the maps app being stopped.

Good one.
My Photon can get me 4 hrs under the same conditions. Let's hope the battery will get better after a few recharge.

lmao good one
From A thread over at androidCentrel posting Epic Touch usage.
Tkemack
Screen On & awake look to be on roughly 70 - 75% use within 14 hr
Photon doesn't come close to such battery performance .
I'm looking forward to some Touch custom roms Battery life will get even better.

Im in debate battery life seems decent for me but no where near what other people are posting. I got 9hrs so far and im at 20 percent with screen on for 4 hours. Dodnt play any games just some web, text and xda. Does this seem right?
The first four hours the powersaver settings were still on. So wifi on, no 3g,4g,no auto sync, brightness at 10 percent.
Last five hours Auto sync is on. Brightness is 25 percent. 3 mail accounts with mail only and I've only had 1 email pushed the whole time. 4g off. Wifi only the whole time no 3g. Screen timeout 30 seconds.

Starburst v1.9.8r + Underclock = Great Battery!

Running starburst rom v1.9.8r and its awesome! Thanks phantom for all your work! And thanks to everyone else whose software im using!
Battery life on a few previous roms were a bit low, maby i didnt give my phone long enough to get used to them, but my current set up gives me some of the best battery life I've personally had since before root and starburst v1.8 which were each beast.

Way past my daily charge time and still going strong. connected to wifi a lot, used google navigation for about 90mins of driving, been web browsing a lot/texting/little music/some camera. Nothing spectacular like gaming and videos but my main worry was to make sure i had enough battery at the end of the day to gps back home lol. Dont worry about the few minutes of charging at the end, was showing off netflix through hdmi so kinda needed to have charger plugged in so give or take 2% if you're- why so serious?
Set up:
Sb rom v1.9.8r
LoStKernelExp 1.0.0.8
SetCpu to underclock/undervolt
Viper's LoS Checker v2.1 - default set to check every 2 minutes
ICS green dialer (Idk how that would do anything)
First fully charged phone till blue light, unplugged and turned off, plugged in and let fully charged a few times. Booted straight to recovery and wiped battery data. And yes rebooted and was at 99% but hey.
Also if anyone is worried about performance from underclocking from 1200 to 800, dont be, theres hardly a difference in performance. I play Defender -droidhen- alllll the time and there was absutely 0 performance issues even when using spells and flashy stuff on stage 92. The gps works perfect,no lag between voice and location/distance from next turn (and was on 3g). The single thing i notice is that when on flash heavy web pages, there tends to be a bit more checkerboarding while scrolling up and down, but the pages themselves load up as fast as always.
For the extra bettery life, i think its worth the microscopic performance sacrafice? Anyway I hope this helped anyone wondering about battery life and how I extend my own!
Would love some feedback if anyone is getting better results!
Looks good...still testing tho.
Thanks!

(TIP)Possible battery drain solution for LTE devices.

Like many here I've been having battery drain issues since the day I purchased the Galaxy Nexus. I also purchased the extended battery since day one. I've been reading through every single forum on how to reduce the battery drain and none seems to have worked for me. I've tried switching to wifi, 3g only, no email push, no google+, etc and my phone at 100% battery would lose almost 30% within 2 hours idling. Then I was looking at the settings and I came across the Developer Options/Background process limit and limited my background process from Standard to At most limit to 1 process and my battery has improved tremendously. Prior to making the change the Android OS was using 80+ % on idle (Wifi or 3g didn't make a difference), now it's uses around 20 or less. On idle I'm seeing around 4% or less an hour vs 15% battery drain.
Please remember this may or may not solve YOUR battery drain, but it has definitely helped mine and I just wanted to share with the community on what else you can try.
I've had pretty good results with my battery. I think some of ya'll are either just playing around with it too much or have some energy-sucking apps out there.

Or that you don't have a connection to the data network.
Just say'n. (I do the same thing at night)
I had Wi-fi enabled for 12 hours, and the battery only dropped to around 85%. I have been on 4G for 5 hours now, and the battery is now down to 13%. I'm going to use a Wi-fi/3G combination tomorrow. Oh and I also have my phone rooted/underclocked to 900Mhz.

I've been using it for 3 days and have had no issues. Anyways its as easy as checking the standard limit if you ever wanted to revert back.

HOLY crap, my battery sucks! Why??

Hey fellow GNex'ers!
I'm currently running CM10.2 on my Sprint GNex. I just pulled my phone off the charger, set it in my car, drove home from work (for lunch), then back to work. Once I got to work (hadn't even turned the screen on since I unplugged it), I checked the battery: 88%. Now, not even 70 minutes later it's reading 82%, a loss of 6% with no texts, no screen on, no notifications, and my 3g is 3 bars, which is pretty good for where I am (and the fact that there are no notifications / data usage).
Can anyone explain what it could be killing my battery? I'll post the betterbattstats screens later (when I get back out to my car), but for the rest of the afternoon I'm going to leave it there so I can get a better idea of what's killing the battery. I'm so sick of my battery draining when I'm not even touching it!
My wife's GNex did practically the same thing this morning. Her phone died in about 5 hours, but she turned the phone off about an hour after turning it on... She's running stock 4.1.2
Edit: Lost 2% in 11 minutes, so we'll round it up to 1% per 6 minutes right now...
do you not have LTE available in your area? if not, thats your problem.

I do have LTE in my area, but I've noticed LTE takes up even more power than 3g. However, my work is at an Army post, and since the towers aren't located on the post itself, it's kind of rare for me to have a solid LTE signal. I don't make any attempts to change the way Android decides which to use though, because I find that it's fairly intelligent about switching from LTE to 3g when LTE gets low, and vice-versa.

So these are images showing that I lost 30% battery while only using the screen for 12 minutes... That's just ridiculous!
