Six axis controller wont pair with device - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note II

Hi i have recently rooted my galaxy note 2, and own a six axis duel shock playstation controller. I have already bought the sixaxis controller app from the play store (also checked the compatible app, and there was no problems). I have gone to the official site and installed the sixaxis pair tool, yet everytime i install the program i get an error message reading "A newer version of microsoft visual C++ 2010 Redistributable has been detected on the machine". I have tried different versions, but the same outcome, if you could let me know what im doing wrong, or what i need to fix this i would be greatly appreciated

I got that same message after installation of the pair tool for PC. I believe I ran the installer with administrator privileges (don't think that matters though). Anyways, do you receive this message when trying to start the application as well? I received this message after the installation, but could still use the application fine.

I would say make sure you have the latest version downloaded and also make sure your sixaxis controller is actually connected to the PC via USB before running the installer (also run the installer with admin privileges just in case). After this, make sure that you are unable to find the Sixaxis Pair tool icon in your start menu. I thought it didn't install for me at first too, but then I saw that the program was actually there.
That's all I can think of at the moment.

I too had the exact same issue. I just declined to upgrade and the program installed fine. The problem I had, as this was the first time I had ever used Sixaxis, was getting it to connect to the N2. Come to find out, since I was using the MotionInJoy version I had to put the mac address in backwards

MS Voice Command not installing after ROM upgrade...

Hello All,
I have recently upgraded my ROM from 1.31 to 1.40. While almost all the softwares I reinstalled gave me no problems, but MS Voice Command 1.0 just refuses to install properly.
It reports a non-recoverable error while writing uninstall information. But ironically it works fine. While uninstalling, it does, but reports the same error. This does not let the Voice Command 1.5 upgrade to work properly. As soon as the 1.5 upgrade is launched on the PC, it reports an error saying that Voice Command 1.0 should be installed on the PC, but uninstalled from the device. Which is exactly what I have done.
Any of you faced similar problems? And if you did what is the resolution?
Thanks,
Siddharth
I had a problem with the 1.40 and voice command as well, I don't recall exactly how I worked around it but it required installing and uninstalling in a wierd order.
I know I had to play with it for a while, I think this is how I ended up getting it to work for me:
1. install 1.0 to the desktop
2. upgraded to 1.5 on the desktop without installing to the device
3. then I hooked the device into the cradle and let it install.
However when I had to update for a friend's device:
1. install 1.0 to desktop
2. put the device in the cradle and let it install incorrectly
3. on the device, uninstall, ignore errors...don't put back into cradle yet
4. upgrade to 1.5 on the desktop
5. put the device in the cradle and let it download 1.5

Installation of cab files throws errors

Hi. I just recently purchased an HTC Touch Pro2 from T-Mobile running WinMo 6.5. That being said, I have not been able to open any cab files on the device to install some software. Basically I'll transfer the cab to the device and attempt to open it. I get one of three messages depending on the app I guess. the most basic is "Installation was unsuccessful" to "Installation was unsuccessful. The program or setting...not digitally signed...trusted certificate" (this was from MobileFTPClient). Installing Opera Mini 5 gives a simple: "Installation of mini5wm.cab was unsuccessful".
Ok, so being a software developer for 10 years I've been looking into some registry values and can't seem to find what I need to get anything to install. If I download from the Windows Marketplace that's all good, but nothing else.
What do I need to do to be able to install cab flils directly? Honestly if I can't get this to work this phone is going back. I moved from an iPhone to this phone specifically so I can install apps and monkey around with the device, but so far I'm done before I started.
Thanks for any info you can give me.
its in one of your phone/device settings to let u download and install apps or cabs not digitally signed. thats all, i believe. just find it and check it off. or look for advanced config cab if u can find it and install that. it has an option in there also to let u download/install whatever..

The cab I have attached may help you...it's some SDK certificates that will allow installation of certain unsigned apps, but I don't know if this is what the ones you're running are requiring and missing. It won't harm anything to try this one, and you can easily uninstall it if it doesn't do the trick
Thanks guys. Sirphunkee - that cab actually installed, but I'm having the same problem. Another forum has suggested that I take the device back to T-Mobile, but it just seems like there's a setting that's not right in the OS. Demandarin - I've looked for various security permissions in the UI with no luck. I've mucked around with some Policy values in the registry per some threads on this forum, but still nothing.
I'll keep trying, and thanks.
So...weird; Opera Mini and Weather Bug (well known apps) wouldn't install, but an SMS notification disable cab installed (from the xda site) as did Evernote (evernote.com). I have no clue what the deal is, but it's getting beyond stupid that I can't install just any cab file.

Have you already installed .Net 3.5? It's a framework that many other programs use (and need) to install, and it's not on the TP2 by default...it's the only other think I could think of that would keep you from installing stuff. Cab is attached, if you don't have it already.
Got it. I installed the Device Security Manager PowerToy and was able to change the configuration there. Opera Mini 5 just installed.
Never would have thought the phone would come that locked down, but so far so good. Thanks for all of the ideas.

[Q] Bluetooth file transfer with Windows 7

With Windows 7 I am unable to transfer/receive files over bluetooth with Defy. Have tested with Windows XP it works fine. If anyone have a solution for this please share.
Note:- Mods - I couldn't find any topic specific to this issue hence created a new thread. If required please merge it.
Try bluetooth file transfer app from market. Although both native pair and using this app work for me in Win7 sometimes i have to use the app ^ to get things going. Also delete your pc from bluetooth settings, delete the device from device manager in win7, try to pair them again. As win7 has so many issues with drivers, it's a common error. Also make sure the bluetooth adaptor driver (if any came with it) is installed properly /last version and not some Win7 generic driver instead.
Hope i helped and it works.
Sent from my CM7 Defy
I too have some issues with the bluetooth. The speed seems to be very slow. Also when sending multiple files most of them fail. I've tried sending files to different phones. Same issue.
Sent from my MB525 using XDA App

@Deonix ... thanks and I tried all these steps still I am seeing two Bluetooth Peripheral Devices with "!" mark in the device manager and unable to send/receive files. Will keep searching for a solution and update this thread if I find it.

[FIX]Fix for Android applications not installing/starting in Windows 10 Mobile 10536

Since Windows 10 Mobile 10536, it's not possible to both run or install Android applications.
However, with the new tools in the attachment "WindowsBridge.7z", it's now possible to do that again.
Steps:
1 - Extract (using latest WinRAR or 7zip, for example) the contents of the attachment somewhere;
2 - Copy everything from the extracted "Tools" folder to the folder where you currently have the wconnect tool;
3 - In your phone, go to developer settings, enable "Device discovery", and choose "Unpair all" to remove previous pairing info;
4 - In your PC, make sure no process called "wconnectsrv" is running (use Windows Task Manager), and then use the new wconnect tool, and pair the phone again;
4 - In your phone, uninstall current Android applications;
5 - Reinstall them using the new wconnect tool, in the same way you did before;
Troubleshooting:
This method only enables installation with proper registering of Android apps.
If the application opens showing at least one screen, but crashes somewhere else, it's related to the Android Subsystem.
When trying to install an application, adb could return [DELETING_EXISTING_APPLICATIONDATA_STORE_FAILED] .
In that case, restart the phone, and try again
Best regards
And here comes our hero
Thanks! trying now.
Edit: autodiscovery doesn't work..
Another edit: After a few more tries it works, but no keyboard in the app.
Thanks! This worked for me!!
I did get stuck while installing on one app and now i am unable to uninstall or reinstall it. Not sure how to remove it, ill try more tomorow
which lumia device are compatible ?? Can be used on lumia 640 ?

anybody got google apps on this build?
Anybody tried on Lumia 640xl ?
Thanks, it works!
But doesn't Project Astoria support lollipop apps?
They show INSTALL_FAILED_OLDER_SDK error (e.g. Facebook Groups)
Couldn't install apps with API 21 or greater, only for api 19 (kit kat).

Possibly because they all use Google play services which is bit tricky to push... There were some tools that were stripping Google play from apps, but by that functionality goes down as well...
Unfortunately, I seem to be stuck at the connection stage with "Error Code - 6."
Thus far, I've tried:
wconnect.exe usb
wconnect.exe usb PINCODE
wconnect.exe 192.168.X.XXX
wconnect.exe 192.168.X.XXX PINCODE
And it results in the same error each time. I'm wondering if one needs Windows 8.1 64-bit version in order to successfully connect. I'm running 32-bit.
Anybody have any insight on this? Willing to experiment! :good:

Kind of surprised you're still running Windows 8.1. Windows 10 is free for you and better in just about every way, regardless of the UI changes. Just a recommendation, though I doubt it'd fix your issue.
There's an easy way to tackle this but it depends on how the driver is being installed. If you're connecting your phone to your computer and Windows is insisting on downloading and installing this "TP-Link" driver from Windows Update, there is a way to disable this in a few easy steps. If you're connecting your phone to your computer and Windows just assumes that it's a "TP-Link Android Phone" and applies the wrong pre-loaded driver (usually gives you a notification near the clock) then we're gonna have to get a bit crafty.
EDIT: Silly question. You don't have USB tethering or any wacky app that would be causing this issue, right?

No tether app or other apps no, thats why im lost as to why its started this BS , windows i know can be tricky WIN10 was not for me plus the free upgrade has past now (29July) anyway.

Would you mind doing something for me before performing the steps I'm going to list below? Go into Device Manager with the phone plugged in and installed as the stupid "TP-Link" BS and find it in the list of devices. Should probably be under Portable Devices or something. Right click it and click Properties, go to the Driver tab and click "Driver Details". All of the drivers should be located in the 'system32/DRIVERS' folder. Mind giving me the names of those drivers listed? Naming convention is typically driverName.sys.
Additionally, we're going to try a Group Policy change. Hit Windows Key + R and type 'gpedit.msc' and hit enter. A window labeled "Local Group Policy Editor" should come up. Then do the following:
Expand Computer Configuration (Left hand side, the navigation panel)
Expand Administrative Templates
Expand System
Expand Device Installation
Click Device Installation Restrictions
On the right hand side, now, there should be a list of restrictions. Somewhere in that list there should be an item "Prevent installation of devices not described by other policy settings". Double-click that and another window named the same thing should pop up. In the top left, set it to enabled and click Apply, then OK.
Unplug your phone and get rid of that ****ty driver if you haven't already and then restart and try connecting the phone again to see if the same incorrect driver install occurs.
@MKD73 You ever get this sorted out?
Sorry been away on holiday for the weekend , I'll be taking a look in the morning :victory:
Please give update
Have you resolved this issue? My laptop is acting the same. Device manager sees my phone as "TP-Link Android Phone" with sub category of "Android Bootloader Interface." I can't use ADB with it, not recognized.
I tried doing what Alcolawl said but nothing happens. When I right click the "TP Link--- it just says general properties, no 'drivers' etc. I saw the 'driver' option in the "Andoid bootloader Interface" . It says the driver is: winusb.sys, wdfCoInstaller01009.dll and WinUSBInstaller2.dll. When I tried to edit the group, it says "Windows can not find gpedit.msc
Hope you can help me. My phone is stuck in fastboost mode- LG D838

Did you guys manage to fix it? I tried everything you people said but it didn't work. I have a Blu Vivo Xi+ and my PC only recognizes it as TP-LINK Android Phone. I dumbly deleted it's OS and all it's data when trying to update it. I only have access to TWRP and fastboot, is there a way to fix it? I would love if someone could assist me ?.
