[XS][Kernel][STOCK+] V5.4.1OC [14-03-13] Recovery Independent!! - Sony Xperia S, Acro S, Ion

For those who have an UNLOCKED boot loader.
Kernel Stock+ is
= Sony latest ICS .55 kernel base
+ Auto-root with SuperSU
+ Init.d
+ Governor : Badass, Intellidemand, Interactive, Lagfree, Hotplug, Wheatley
+ I/O schedule : SIO, ROW, ZEN
+ elf extract (support recovery in FOTA partiton)
+ few tweak
+ OC to 1674Mhz(some version)
Stock+ V5.4.1 (OC)
- Over clock again to 1674MHz
- Port few lib, optimize from Open SEMC kernel
- Omit smartassv2 it cause my phone stuck at max frequently.
http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?hsma936uzlasgao
Stock+ V5.3 (Not OC)
http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?ohybzjcfu1ad6hc
- Update recovery TWRP 2.4.1
- Support elf extract so you are no longer tie to TWRP 2.4.1. Now you can update TWRP to the latest version or even install CWM. Check http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2173202
- Fix Auto Root
- Remove PeqasusQ
- Add Lagfree, Hotplug, Wheatley
Stock+ V5.2 (Enable to Over Clock to match XSL speed)
http://www.mediafire.com/?4n0n5b04g76h8ew
- Change max frequency to 1674MHz
- Change RAM Disk to limit max frequency at 1512MHz
Stock+ V5.1 (update TWRP to V2.3.3.0)
http://www.mediafire.com/?ehkzz5lb59zgbxd
- New ramdisk structure. Now ramdisk split into two 1st for recovery and 2nd for Stock ICS boot.
- 1st ramdisk is ported from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2075562.
- 2nd ramdisk is exacted from sony stock kernel.sin merge with ramdisk from Advance Stock Kernel this should retain "autoroot" function and "init.d" support
Stock+ V2
link : http://www.mediafire.com/?vzpj4b6kpoa5zsl
This kernel feature
- build from .55 source + fix cache formatting issue
- little mod ram disk to set minimum frequency at 192000
- on demand tweak for better battery life.
- autoroot with superSU
- Xperia boot screen
Stock+ V1
Link : http://www.mediafire.com/?5sb5352k7pz5lc5
It is unmodified STOCK kernel extract from .55 kernel.sin plus CWM with auto root functionality.
I made a little mod to ramdisk to make it auto root with SuperSU instead of Superuser. The wifi module also replace with the one from stock firmware as well. The wifi module in Advance stock Kernel is not compatible with this kernel.
The kernel work just fine but I notice some bug when I try to format cache or wipe cache it will cause your cache partition corrupt. So if you like to use unmodified stock kernel please remember NOT wipe or format cache.
Well if you already wipe/format and want to get around the problem just simply install other kernel e.g. advance stock ICS17 or my stock mod kernel list above then format cache after that reinstall unmodified stock or you can leave it as it is.
Note.
- 28/01/13 : just found a bug regarding to setcpu and antutu set at boot not appear to set both core correctly. Please give No-frills CPU control or Kernel tuner a try but remember not to use with pagasusq.
- To install by fastboot just extract kernel.elf from the zip.
- Source is outdate because I can not upload a big file. I will update source as soon as I get proper internet connection.
- Now you can update TWRP to the latest version using goo.manager or even install CWM. Check http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2173202
Feedback is appreciate.

You can use an existing kernel zip and add this to it.

Xsx version 6 is a good one to use

Can you make one with SuperUser please?
SuperSU is not much user friendly as Superuser :'(

please verify and confirm..this flashable zip i made is composed of .55 firmware stock kernel, cwm and supersu v.97

I would used it if you used Superuser but you used SuperSU which is not so used friendly as Superuser.

I think this is different mate. The one you provide is not the real recovery. This is the same way people use for Locked boot loader. The recovery is locate in "system". If you format system you will loose it or if you install new ROM which has script to format system you probably loose recovery!!
Mine the recovery is not in system partition. It is loaded in ramdisk. You won't loose it even you format system.
Cheers.

I did it but for now it is in elf format. Please check first post.
You probably not need it because if you already rooted with ICS16 which come with superuser then the kernel will not reroot your system.
I'm still learning, could you please explain or give me some info about how you find user friendly of superuser? I read around here and lot of people said supeSU is quicker.
Cheers,
tosa.th

I am not a Dev but since my 1st Xperia NEO I have always used Superuser. I only once used SuperSu and its was last night When I was looking for a way to Root .55 of my Xperia S.
The used Interface it kinda messy and had a lot of option but in Superuser it just a few thing and easy to understand.
I don't know about others but As far as I know and Experienced most of the xperia user and even my friend use Superuser instead of supersu.

It easy more than what I thought. I spent hours messing around with zImage within cwm flash-able zip of ICS16.
Finally I figure it out. Please try the CWM version of this stock kernel in first post.

It suppose to work on windows but you will need cgywin. You also need some other software like phyton 7zip java etc. If you have Linux then it will be easy to install all those software.

Great work.
I have a unlock bootloader and Whit this kernel there is an increase of performance.
Now i have the stock. 55 and Whit the antutu and i have 8390
Whit cm10 i have 8900. I think this is a Great kernel.

Hi, I've just added this kernel to the Xperia S Development Index

[KERNEL] i9000-B with BLN and more - GAKernel by LuisManson

This a custom kernel for the I9000-B there is no magic here so i wont add a lot of info
it has:
* TinyRCU
* BFQ scheduler
* ondemand governor
* BacklightNotification by Neldar
you will need the app to control/enable BLN: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=8917392
included in this file:
zImage for heimdal
liblights backup (original in my rom)
liblight.so file inside correct path to replace inside phone (/system/lib/hw)
NOTE: this is for the Froyo rom of VIVO (brazil)
it also has adb as root even in recovery mode
i will try to keep xda updated but im sharing most of this on a spanish forum
man, that is awesome!
I'll try but now i'm using a new froyo rom for the I9000B: BVJJPD. Is that compatible with this kernel?
I did a post at PORTALANDROID forum using the same title as herer, talking about u work. I hope people join us testing, talking and donating, like me.

This rooted kernel is for the "rooting beginners" and those who want to keep as close to stock as possible. CF-Root takes the kernel from an original Samsung firmware, and just adds root, busybox. The Kernel is Custom Supporting Ext4 FS, OC, and other Features*
THIS IS NOT A ROM - it is only a kernel (S5660: boot image). You need to have a firmware already on your device (S5660: tested on Stock/Custom Gingerbread DXKP6, and DXKT4 using ext4 fs). You do NOT need to wipe anything for this patch. You DO need to read the instructions.
MAKE SURE YOUR PHONE CAN ENTER DOWNLOAD MODE USING THE KEYCOMBINATION WHILE BOOTING BEFORE FLASHING CF-ROOT (or anything, really)

There have now been nearly 1.000.000 downloads of CF-Root for various devices (see for example Galaxy S1, Galaxy Tab 7", and Galaxy S2), and many more if you include ROMs, kernels, etc that use it. Don't be a leech, buy me a beer (and use the "Thanks" button!). Imagine if every CF-Root user had donated me $1...
*Features
Some binary files added:
-- pre-Rooted, su binary added
-- Superuser added
-- Busybox installed
- Integrated Tweaks Manager & CWM Manager
- Running All Scripts in /system/etc/init.d
- Custom Bootanimation Working on All Roms
- Overclock support
- BLN support (lights.msm7k.so modified)
- wifi module (ar6000.ko) included, so this version of CF-Root-S5660 will work on all versions of Gingerbread or CM GB
- ext4 support
- added more governors scaling & iosched
- etc
Instructions - CWM/RZR
- Follow these instructions to the letter. Do not touch any buttons or checkboxes that are not listed below to touch!
- Flash CWM or RZRecovery.
- Download the File To Your Sd-Card
- Flash via CWM or RZRecovery
- No Need to Data Wipe
- Initial/First Boot May Take Long Time,Very Long Maybe .
CF-Root/CWM4 is NOT compatible with ROM Manager! Manage/perform your backup/restores from CWM directly or using the CWM Manager application included with CF-Root
- ADB is functional in recovery, however it may take up to a minute for it to start up after booting into recovery.
- When connected to ADB in recovery, you need to use "rootsh" command to get root, instead of "su". This will not prompt you, it will just give you root. Obviously the "rootsh" command does not work when booted normally.
CWM Manager
Same as Chainfire's CF-Root
Features:
- Boot to CWM
- Backup firmware
- Restore backups (S5660: Do not use CWM Manager to restore any backup for now, use CWM Advance Backup directly!)
- Delete backups
- Install APKs
- Flash CWM update.zip's
- Flash kernels (zImage, zImage in TAR, zImage in ZIP, zImage in TAR in ZIP) (S5660: you have to rename boot.img to zImage)
Tweak Manager
Same as Chainfire's CF-Root, except:
- Kernel: Scheduler option always disabled on boot. Kernel scheduler tweak not working on S5660.
- Now have "DT: Auto start" option to turn on/off Darktremor a2sd script on boot. Don't worry, Darktremor apps2sd setting is persistent, event you turn off the auto start script. It's safer to turn a2sd auto start off!
Note: If you flash a different kernel, CWM Manager may remain installed. However, functions may not work, because they need kernel compatibility !
Custom boot / init scripts
CF-Root will execute the following scripts if present, in the order listed:
- /system/etc/init.d/* (there can be many files here, no extensions! use #!)
- /system/bin/customboot.sh (busybox sh)
- /system/xbin/customboot.sh (busybox sh)
- /data/local/customboot.sh (busybox sh)
Please make sure you chown / chmod the scripts correctly so they can be executed. Pretty much root:root / 755.
Custom boot animations and binaries
CF-Root also supports custom boot animations:
- /system/media/bootanimation.zip
- /data/local/bootanimation.zip
And custom boot binaries:
- /data/local/bootanimation.bin
Installing busybox over the included version
It is possible to install a custom busybox over CF-Root v3.0 and newer. However, this is not without risk. CF-Root makes heavy use of scripting, and many CF-Root scripts rely on the internal busybox version. If you do install a seperate busybox version (always use "stericson" installer!), install it to /system/xbin. Installing it to /system/bin will mess things up for sure. Even if you do that part right, it may still break CF-Root, so make sure to make a backup before trying.
How ?
I wrote my own toolchain to ease patching of initramfs, and that is what all this is based on. Took me a few days to get it to this state. If this works right, however, next time it will probably take me a few hours tops

[KERNEL][ICS][P1/L/N] Kanged Gummy Kernel 1.0 Released

InformationThis kernel is forked from the CyanogenMod Kernel and i have added a few additional changes of my own and more to come. My builds of AOKP and Gummy have this kernel pre-installed with the Kanged Gummy Kernel but when i release 1.0 it will have a few more tweaks so you would need to upgrade.
There will be 4 files you can download. The boot.img and zImage can both be flashed using Heimdall. The Flashable zip and Odin tar.
Bugs
Deep Sleep works but when using LiveOC it does not so i recommend only using this when playing games or maybe make a script to disable this when you device locks in the time being.
Differences
LiveOC
More Frequencies (100MHz, 200MHz, 400MHz, 600MHz, 700MHz, 800MHz, 900MHz, 1000MHz, 1100MHz, 1200MHz, 1300MHz, 1400MHz)
Lulzactive v2 Governor (My preferred choice)
Tiny shmem
Working on more!
Using Features In The KernelLiveOCHere is information on it This is configurable using a tool known as NSTools on the PlayStore. When using this 100% means the bus frequency is at 100% try not to get confused. So 100% of 100MHz would be 100MHz so if you increase it to 120% so it would be 120% of 100MHz would be 120MHz and this value applies to all CPU frequencies, GPU ect.
LulactiveThis is like other governors for the CPU and can be configured using applications like Voltage Control, SetCPU, NSToolsand built-in tools from CM9/10 and AOKP ect.
Downloads
All Devices - http://goo.im/devs/henryedwardrose/Kernel/ICS
P1 - zImage - Boot.img - Flashable.zip - Odin.tar
P1L - zImage - Boot.img - Flashable.zip - Odin.tar
P1N - zImage - Boot.img - Flashable.zip - Odin.tar
Installation
zImage or boot.img
Use command line tool known as 'heimdall' (for people comfortable with the command-line)
Flashable.zip
Installed using CWM (the easiest methord)
Odin.tar
Put this file in the PDA section on Odin (Windows only)
Special ThanksThe TE4M - Nice work on developing the kernel and getting our device officially supported by CyanogenMod!
Dizgustipated - Nice Guy, Excellent Roms and Kernel!
Technomancer - The Guy who originally ported CM7 to our tab
SourcesMy Github
BuildingYou can build this kernel yourself in two ways
The First MethordIs by adding it into your manifest in your android build environment which supports integrated kernel building like CM9/10 and AOKP.
If you want it in your own Rom then simply just perform the regular build commands
If you just want to build a boot.img then apply the following commands
source build/envsetup.sh
lunch cm_p1-userdebug (change this depending on what device you would like to build)
make out/target/product/p1/boot.img
Click to collapse
The Second MethordBefore the integrated kernel building system you used to build a kernel outside of this in it own separate environment so i have made it possible without have to download the android build environment to build any kernel for this device and you just have to run a build script and tell it what device you want to make.
Firstly you want to use the following commands
mkdir Kernel
cd Kernel
repo init -u https://github.com/henryedwardrose/Kernel_Manifest.git -b master
repo sync
Click to collapse
Ok when synced you will see that there are three directories. Two of which are what you need. The 'Files' directory
is where all of the other files go that are necessary to build the kernel. The build.sh is a nice bash script which
you can open and easily understand what commands are being executed and how the files are being used.
Anyways here's how you build:
Firstly in the terminal go to the Files directory
cd Files
Click to collapse
Now run this following command to extract the ramdisks (you only have to do this when i have uploaded a new ramdisk)
./RUNAFTERSYNC.sh
Click to collapse
Then you want to build the kernel and at the end you will end up with the following flashable files 'zImage,
boot.img, .tar, .zip'
Now you need to initiate the building process
./build.sh
Click to collapse
Now follow the commands on screen and you will end up with the kernel located in the out directory and you can flash
via Heimdall (zImage and Boot.img), Odin (.tar) and CWM (.zip)
Enjoy!
Thanks for you work...
Please build for all model (P1,P1l,P1N, P1C)..

It feels smooth indeed. Quadrant score at 1300 MHz with Cm9 is around 2600-2700.

Hi henry.
My tab is p1000 and im on your aokp milestone 6 (not the rebuild 1). I decided to update my kanged gummy kernel to 1.0 as suggested in the op. I tried the zip for p1 using cwm recovery, and my tab was stucked to the samsung logo. Cant go to recovery too. So i decided to use the .tar in odin, and its now perfectly.
Just a heads up that there maybe something wrong with the zip version. But neverrtheless, thanks for this wonderful kernel!
I have a p1 too and i have download cwm file i have instal it with no issue.
Maybe a wrong download ?
@Henry,
with rebuild 1 kernel is the latest kernel or i have to redownload and install ?
Thank's
Hope someone can upload it to other sites. Rapishare really sucks.

INSTRUCTIONS
Make sure you are running a custom recovery (CWM or TWRP)
- Make sure you have busybox installed, if you don't or if you're not sure, download Busybox Installer from the Play Store (free)
- Make a nandroid backup of your current ROM, just in case
- Wipe cache and dalvik cache in recovery
- Flash PmR in recovery
- A wonderful touchscreen interface will pop-up
(devices need different touchscreen calibration, if the touchscreen doesn't work, use the menu button of your device, select "Calibration Tools" and follow the instructions)
- Follow the on-screen instructions, make your choices between all the different features to Pimp your Rom
- Select "Reboot my device" on last screen (or reboot from recovery) and enjoy
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Encountering installation issues ?
Do the following to fix most errors you might get on some devices :
Open the zip of the rom you are running with winrar or 7zip or whatever (the .zip file that you flash in recovery)
Inside this zip, navigate to : META-INF/com/google/android
Extract the file called "update-binary" and rename it to "update-binary-installer" then close your rom's zip
Open Pimp my Rom's zip (i.e : PIMP_MY_ROM-v1.5.3-by-Androguide.fr.zip)
Do not unzip it, inside this zip, navigate to : META-INF/com/google/android and delete "updater-binary-installer"
Now copy the "update-binary-installer" file you extracted & renamed from your rom to Pimp My Rom's zip (still in META-INF/com/google/android). Simply drag and drop it into PmR's zip to add it.
Close the zip and flash it

Hello thank you for your effort, but please could you tell us what is the difference between this version and the original version??
i have tested the original pimp my rom version on CM9 build3 by arco, and it runs good as long as i don't install any init.d scripts tweaks!! cause if i put it the phone lags to much!!
anyway i will give a try
thank you
Someday, I will try it. Thanks for shared PMR

tip dont use GPS fix thingy ex. your rom is for europe firmware and your in asia dont turn it on
might end up on a bootloop just like me (or im missing something well didnt know all the answer)
just dont forget to backup all your files...

yes you can turn on tweak on init.d and build.prop
Ok guys, yes I have installed nstools, and some others things like acid audio mod and wifix and some others system fonts! So what I did? Wipe everything on my phone, and flash again the cm9 build, and then I have flashed PmR again, and with most of the things, and now I am a happy user again heheh, it's working really good!
So I recommend this thing for at least give it a try

Similar problem before.

The kernel was tested. So...no, I don't think that's from the kernel. Make sure you downloaded it entirely. And...I don't know, make sure you don't have any funny stuff like custom recovery or something like that installed on your phone. Other than that...it should work.

yeah, my bad. i don't know, this is my recovery or something else that weird. i try flash stock kernel by arsradu I got installation abort. i flash it when i using cwm 6.0.4.4 it's ok, no problem. I think this is not the file that corrupt. I'm using cwm 6.0.4.5 that hadi posted in his cm11 section, and install it by ATE.

sigprof said:
Android developers changed the format of the shared memory area used to store system properties in the kitkat branch, then made some further changes (1, 2, 3, 4). Then they added backward compatibility with the older format, but only in one direction — now an executable linked with the new bionic libc can work even if the init process is from an older version (the commit log mentions the case when an older recovery is used to install an update.zip for a new version), but an executable linked with the old bionic libc will not work with a new init process. The latter case is what happens when you try to install a baseband zip file using the recovery built for kitkat — every update.zip file contains its own update-binary inside, and in this case update-binary is statically linked with the old (pre-kitkat) bionic libc. Because of this incompatibility getprop() calls in the updater-script do not return the expected values, and the compatibility check fails.
I could try to update at least my baseband zip files with a new update-binary, but this will take some time to check whether this could really work with different recovery versions, and then to upload all those files and update links to them.
BTW, the CWM recovery 6.0.4.5 image from this thread seems to be built in the 4.3.1 (JB) environment, therefore baseband update zips should be installable with this recovery version (however, I'm not sure about compatibility with kitkat ROMs).

i have a bug to report with this kernel: it's almost 1hour and a half that i'm surfing the web, using facebook app and playing, and my phone battery's percentage stuck at 23%!! (the percentage that was when i rebooted the device after flashing this rom)

And remember that you can successfully flash "anykernel" version if you're running the stock kernel by Radu. Other than that you can face some system apps FC.
One can easily flash "anykernel" version over the stock kernel only once. The reason is the ramdisk.

Anykernel only flashes the kernel zImage and modules not the ramdisk. So this is a modified one and there is no battery stuck problem.

ramdisk is a small partition image that is mounted by the kernel at boot time. It only contains init and a few config files. It is used to start init which will mount the rest of the system images properly and run the init procedure.
Just googled it as I dont know the exact definition...
