New to Android on tablets, need so suggestions - Nexus 7 Themes and Apps

Hi everyone!
I've had a 7" galaxy tab before but didn't use it much, and this was GB days. So the N7 is obviously a huge step up. Basically I needed some suggestions for apps on this. I'm going to be traveling for almost two weeks and I know I'm not gonna have internet access. So basically I'm looking for some nice puzzle games, and some video/audio apps.
Suggestions?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2

First off, which model did you get? 16gb or 32gb?
My suggested games;
GTA 3
GTA Vice City
The Bards Tale
Need for Speed: Most Wanted
Asphalt 7
Rayman Jungle Run
Granny Smith
Predators
Minecraft Pocket Edition
wait, puzzle games?
My Suggested Games;
Cut the Rope.
Angry Birds Star Wars
Great Big War Game (Not really puzzle..)
Jetpack Joyride is free so try that as well.

I got the 32GB model, got a pretty sweet deal in which it came to $210 including tax and shipping. Anyway, I'll give some of those games a try.
What would be the best media player? I put VLC on here but its a little buggy (obviously expected on a Beta).

Can't go wrong with MX player.
Loving vice city and a big second for bards tale its a great game that shows off the Nexus very well.
Puzzle games you've talking the usual angry birds, cut the rope etc.
Also finding aralon a good game (you want find it on the market you need the amazon app store for that)

I am obsessed currently with CrossMe Color. I got it as an Amazon FAOTD a while back but never really played because my phone scree was too small and gave me a headache. The N7 screen is a great size.
Also, Jelly Defense. Again, a FAOTD, but worth the price of the paid app. Also easier to play on a larger screen.

If you looking for a video player for you nexus. I would go with 'MX player' it plays just about all formats.
If you are into RPG games at all try looking at Horn but it's not free.

You said you'll be travelling with no Web (the horror!). I'm a reader so I'll suggest some stuff around that:
- Amazon Kindle, duh
- Zite (online, I'll explain)
- Flipboard
- Taptu
- Pocket
Now, twice a day flip through the 3 news apps real quick not reading anything but headlines. Anything that catches your attention save to Pocket to read later when you have no Internet.

Death Worm - An old game I used to play on the PC ported to Android, and it works pretty well. PAID
Words with Friends - There is nothing I enjoy more than schooling my friends with my near encyclopedic knowledge of English. Sure, there are better scrabble apps out there, but this is the only cross-platform one. FREE

Business man here, I use these daily.
CamScanner - It works like this, you take a photo using your phone's camera of any document, business card etc. and it will automatically optimize the image i.e. sharpness, contrast as if it were scanned on a scanner, it will then convert it to a .pdf file you can email. Say goodbye to fax machines!

Gtasks, 4.5
DIGI Clock Widget, 4.6
Palmary Weather, 4.5

Navfree, 3.8
Widgetsoid2, 4.6
I've found some of the widgets by this dev are excellent and he supports them very well if you mail him.
The Pure Grid calendar widget has options for tablet size widgets, multiple calendars, colour coding etc.
Also imho HDR Camera+ should be up there with ZoomFX

Here's my Android tablet list of "best of breed" apps:
GTasks - syncs with Google Notes, has reminders, great widgets. Augments my calendar for many things. Free.
Dark Knight - good tablet chess app. Free+no ads.
AndroXplorer - first-rate file explorer with CIFS support. Free (minor advert), but I bought Pro with my Play credit. Better than all the others I've tried and has proper tablet interface.
SuperSU - fine-grained control of root permissions. Free+no ads, Pro has some sweet features, bought it.
AdAway - prevents ads from even downloading. Probably the biggest performance booster you can get. Free, no ads. This is one of the killer apps that will hook you on Android.
System Tuner - you won't believe the crap that starts up automatically. Fix it with this free app (minor ads). Pro is worth it.
AnkiDroid - Can't believe it's free w/o ads. Flashcards app to study nearly anything, many study decks available. Better than the $25 Anki iPad app which I bought.
Cool Reader - ebook reader, lots of useful features. Free and ad-free.
Aldiko Pro - slick reader, works with most formats, worth the $3.
Apps I'd like but which don't work yet:
Moon+ Reader (incl Pro) is broken on Jelly Bean, doesn't show text. When it works I'll buy Pro again.
Encore Learning Platform - free, no-ads, flashcards app.
If I could have clicked the "Thanks" icon 10 times for supplying us with this great database I would have. But I couldn't so THANK YOU X 10!

Apps you must install on N7!

I have been playing with my N7 for a few weeks now and have just rooted it ( after realizing my cable wasn't fully pushed in after an hour of banging my head on brick wall).
Forgetting Facebook, G+, Twitter & Games what are the must have apps that should be downloaded to show off the N7.
I am thinking wi-fi killa, Pulse and any other apps that are truly used daily and really have the wow factor on the N7.
Thanks in advance for all the help I have got before joining the site.

Also if you can install the AOSP web browser, is faster than chrome, which I usually use it only for tab sync

Granny Smith is such an odd game. On paper you'd never think you'd like it but I've honestly replayed the entire game 4 times and counting now.. The replay ability is fantastic..
Whatsapp - Obviously this has to be side loaded but its so much better than on a phone!
... well, I've got an 8GB; so I figure that the most crucial apps to me would be the cloud ones (i.e., Google Drive @ 5GB free, SkyCloud @ 7GB free, Dropbox @ 3GB, and the pre-installed Google Play Music @ 20,000 songs free...)
As a perk, GrooVeIP Free (tablet to phone) is a true Wi-Fi Calling experience on top of the Google Voice app.

Because Gameloft tend not to optimise for Tegra 3 devices and most of their games are laggy. I've got a few Gameloft games and the main culprit of an unoptimized game is Amazing Spider-Man! Incredibly laggy. But some others work fine (for me at least), like Where's Wally Now, Asphalt Urban 7...
