The phone is already LTE capable, however T-Mobile needs to flip the switch 1st then we will get an update.

Not yet tmobile not ready 4 lte sometime in 2014

Or more likely 2013 depending in your area.
Hastily spouted for your befuddlement

Hopefully someone can find out how to activate LTE so that we won't have to wait til 2014 when the phone is outdated.

2014? Really dude....phone is already LTE capable and tmo is rolling out their 4G this coming year. Chill out.

Enabling the phone won't do crap until Tmo heats up their LTE mojo on the network. Patience grasshopper.

Not everyone who has the T889 is on Tmobile like you. The phone may have an LTE chip, but it's not usable... so it's not really "LTE capable".

T-Mobile is going to use metro pcs LTE in 2013

That's for T-Mobile from reading it...
"Step 10. Once that’s done restoring, your phone will reboot. Just give it about a minute as it will reboot. Once rebooted, you can insert your T-Mobile SIM card and start enjoying T-Mobile 3G/4G HSPA+!"
Yup. I see that now. Flimflam said that the hack was in that site. Thats the only one I saw that looked relevant to the post. Maybe I missed it somewhere.

Yes this. T989 will never run lte no matter what software is on the phone. We don't have the hardware for it. And the lte software package is there in general, for phones that have it.
And we don't have it.

[Q] Rom Suggestions

Getting my OG back today and I was gonna just flash NH's CM 10.2 Linaro rom like I always do. Then I started looking into the other roms and cant decided to try something different. Im looking for the most stable, smoothest, least buggy rom available. Any recommendations?
Right now I'm on the newest SlimBean 11/4 build, and it absolutely BLOWS CM10.2 out the water. I don't know what works and what doesn't, but it seems to me that everything I need and use works.

I turned off my LTE and use 3G only, since Sprint is absolutely worthless when it comes to LTE and coverage. I'm on wifi a lot of the time anyways, so I really don't care for it.

When I get LTE here in Baltimore, it tends to be very strong. And then, I go down a highway.....
Maybe I'm just jealous of my friends with Verizon and AT&T, who gets LTE EVERYWHERE.

Idk I'm just/ have been looking forward to this update forever. Have been dissapointed because I believe this is one of the top devices, at least top two (other being Nexus 5), to have Spark.

Modem there have been tests, some non Spark devices perform better. In this situation out of the cutrent Sprint Spark capable (update or not) G2 and N5 outperform the other few.
