Anyone have a build.prop of a Nexus 7 for my Kindle Fire. - Kindle Fire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I want to play Order & Chaos but it doesn't work my jb-4.2-kfire-hashcode-12-18 ROM, it gets to the title screen then crashes back to desktop.

Here it is. Just flash it on recovery.
I Give credit to entaled for this.

I just flashed it from teamwin and it said successful but on reboot it still tells me its a kindle fire in about tablet.

I've tried it many times now and it still boots up as an Amazon Kindle Fire in the About Tablet section and Order & Chaos still won't boot. When I had ICS on it I used a Droid3 build.prop and was able to play the game but being a phone it kinda messed some stuff up on my tablet. That is why I thought the Nexus 7 would be perfect for it. I am running the latest stock jelly bean ROM.

Anyone help me?

Try deleting the play store data.

My device is still saying it is a kindle fire though. How do I delete play store stuff?

Look here half way down first post. You will see instructions. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1778010

OK did that along with flashing many times to no avail. What can I do?

Change your build.prop file manually. Use ES File Explorer, and change the settings so that you can browse up to root, and modify the system folder. Then look for a premodded build.prop online, or make your own.

Adobe Air update market doesn't work.

I was updating Adobe Air for PTD.apk and when it started it said the previous version wasn't signed correctly. HELP!!!!
Sent from my Kindle Fire using Tapatalk
Same problem here. I even tried uninstalled the existing copy of Air via Titanium and replacing the build.prop file.
I changed my build.prop tp Nexus S, and uninstalled it too. I guess you have to get a modded air...
Anyways, i dont have cm7 or cm9, if somebody could upload modded air, great

gedeROM back to stock + app store.

Ok, so i rooted my uncles 6.2.1 KF last weekend and put gedeROM on it for him since he said he wanted ICS. Now he is saying he doesn't like ICS and would rather go back to the stock look but would like to retain the Play Store.
I see that Modaco has the stock rom with play store access, but my question is..can he just flash Modaco using TWRP (since its base is 6.3 and he is on 6.2.1), or is there something else we should do to get him back on stock with the play store?.
I will be walking him through this over the phone so any minute details would be appreciated., thanks.
Before flashing, make a backup, in case he wants to go back to ICS or any problems occur. After backing up, wipe cache/dalvik cache and system. Tap the factory reset also. After all that flash the ROM and you're set. If the Play store icon isn't showing in the device section of the app library, download Go Launcher or look for kindle fire market opener on Google. If any problems occur, tell us! We are here to help!

[Q] Google Play W/O Root

I'm was wandering if anyone knows of a way to get Google Play on my Kindle Fire without root?
I don't want to root because I sent in for the warrenty once, so it would be a big help. I'm not new to the tech game so don't to me like I don't know what I'm doing plz.

You cannot run Google Play without root permissions because it will only run as a system app with the proper permissions which you need root to modify. As far as warranty goes, you can restore a rooted kindle fire to stock and remove any proof of the fact that it has ever been rooted by following one of the guides to return to stock.
I used to have my KF completely bricked after running ICS and different ROMs on it and so forth and recently sent it back to Amazon for ghosting. After having restored it to stock and doing a factory reset, it couldn't be differentiated from one that was brand new out of the box.
Thanks but I still think there's got to be a way to mod Google play because I have 1 mobile and it works flawlessly, so I guess ill try to mod it

No, there is not a way to do it without root permission. You have to have root access to move to system/apk and change permissions.

I appreciate your drive and willingness to try but the reason it won't work is because even if you were to find a way to get the app to run without being run from system/app you will still not be able to use it to install apps. The way it was designed to integrate with android is to contact google's servers and directly install the app to your device using its own permissions derived from it being a system app. If it doesn't have those permissions it won't know what to do and will crash. It cannot just download the app to a folder like 1mobile does. I understand that you want to use google play without rooting, I tried to do it too before I eventually gave in and rooted, but trust me you will be much happier with the device when you have root permissions. If you decide to stay with the stock amazon version of android I would recommend trying modaco's rooted stock ROM which comes with google play already installed, it will not only save you the trouble of having to attempt to install the app yourself (which is actually more of a hassle than you would think) but it also has better stability than stock does and you don't have to worry about amazon upgrading you overnight without your permission and you losing root.

[Q]Jelly Bean Kindle Fire can't install Amazon apps

I rooted my Kindlle Fire, got it to Jelly Bean, and I can install everything just fine. Netflix works great, youtube, everything.
But every time I try to install the Amazon Appstore it just says "App not installed"
Every time I try to install the Kindle App it gives me an error code "-24" that Google has never seen before
Any idea what I could do to fix this? All I really need is the Kindle App so I can read my books again
Are you trying to install the apps from the Play Store ? I installed them from Play Store & had no issues.

Yeah, I may try restoring it to stock and starting over tonight when I get home from work to see if that'll do it because, as of right now, I can't figure out why the Amazon appstore won't work as well as the individual Amazon apps
Do a full wipe minus your SD card reflash ROM reflash gapps reboot enjoy
Did you check the option to allow Non-Market apps to install ?
