Need for speed apk is not warez - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note II

I bought the NFS game that came as a demo on the phone. It is different than the one in the play store. It was paid through my tmobile account not the play store. If i root and put on a rom that does not include this demo I will not be able to use an app that I paid for. just as a FYI the one in the play store is a different version its not the one that came on our phone. This post is in response to a MOD closing and removing the apk in another thread. it is not illegal if it is a DEMO. if you paid for the demo it does not mean you can download the one in the play store for free. anyway lesson learned because the demo version on the phone doesn't even get updated so I will always wait and buy apps from Google play. if it was still on sale i would buy it again but not dropping another 7 for something i already bought. To the MOD that deleted the apk Please think before playing internet GOD.

Game can only be purchased through the Google Play legally. If you purchased it from somewhere else, who did you sent the payment to? If you have a receipt than you can try contacting Google for help.
You can save your game progress with Titanium Backup but your phone have to be rooted to use that app.
Also if a demo version is all you are looking for, there are plenty of rooted stock roms that already comes with the demo game.

maybe you didn't read the post. But you are wrong because when the phone first came out the game was not in the play store. it was on teh phone as a demo and when i purchased i was told the payment would be added to my next TMobile bill. The NFS in the app store says shows as not purchased and form what i am told the one that comes on the phone is a slightly different version. only problem with the version on our phone is that it doesn't get updated like the one in the store. I guess my best bet is to use a rooted stock rom and back it up with titanium. I hope the license stays intact im not sure how tmobile handles that.

As I've said if you have a receipt just contact who you purchase from or Google Play store to get help. How much did you pay for the game? If it's $6.99 it should be paid through Google. Are u sure your game is not a demo?

Seriously? It shows up as a premium charge on my tmobile bill. Anyway worse case i will just buy it from the play store next time. Lesson learned. Just a warning to others never buy a demo that was pre installed on the phone.

Yeah, I bought the one on the play store while it was on sale, and uninstalled the demo with tb.
Reading this, I'm glad I did that!

if you buy it again from the tmobil demo and the bill come from tmobile you call to them and you will receive a credit when they check your first pay.

Exactly why I don't purchase apps from amazon store. Even if its free.

All you need to do is provide a link from the creator of the game that shows it free to download for EVERYONE, ANYTIME. But as you say you PAID for a demo, it IS warez if you provide it for free. {Who pays for a DEMO?} The app that comes with the Note II is a DEMO of the App in the Playstore. When you PAY for it, you get the app in the Playstore.
As T-Mobile doesn't sell apps, who do you think the app was purchased from? I buy a bunch of apps on the Playstore and charge them to my T-Mobile account.

Firstly the demo is not paid version. So demo is not warez. In fact the developer paid Samsung Mobile to have the demo in Galaxy Note 2.
I don't know if the upgrade from demo to full is through Samsung's app store, Google Play store or through the developer themself. So I have no idea how to get around this problem. I would email the developer about this problem.
I bought the full version on the Google Play store when the price was discounted to $0.99. So that is the reason for not knowing. Sorry.

This site is called xda develpers, not Flexte Gets To Post Whatever. As mods they get to delete whatever they wish if they feel its against the rules. If the demo was freely available to the masses I'd say your have a case but as this was a app that was included with a certain device and not given to the world, I'd have to call it warez.

1) First I do not play games on my phone, but lots do, but I do now apps/paid/demo...as stated in the above comments, does your carrier have a history of free & paid>>apps/demos, just like Google Play. Last time I checked, if I had a paid version of anything, you could still download and install the free version of that app, but why. And if it came with your phone well learning to back your app, if you decide to try another ROM is a must.

listen I have been on this site and planet way longer than you. the internet tough **** doesn't work for me. its not Warez and you hae no clue what you are talking about you cant be older than 15

I understand what the OP was trying to say but was not clear in explaining.
I also purchased the full version of NFS most wanted after playing the demo included on the note 2. It was an in app purchase for $6.99 that was charged to my T-mobile account.
If I go to the play store and search for NFS most wanted it comes up as costing $4.99. It does not say it is installed on my phone or purchased by me.
The issue will be when I root I will no longer have the version that came pre loaded on the note 2.
Is the apk of the demo really warez? If you can't download it from EA, Samsung, or T-mobile then I would say yes.
Still feel screwed over by T-mobile/Samsung on this one as it was miss leading since I thought I was purchasing an app from the play store, not some other market.

I agree I could have posted this to the mod directly but since you still do not know the meaning of warez it wouldn't have helped him understand either. The game posted is still a demo. and to activate it you have to pay through tmobile. you ask why i would pay for a demo? is that a question for real? anyway yes i can back up the game once i have a stock rooted rom blah blah. I have been doing this before you owned a cellphone so no biggie. but you are the boss here so I will obey your rules if i want to play here. the reason i started this thread is because so brat too over the other one that but once again i hear the rantings of kids that can only talk **** behind a computer and aren't even old enough to have a mortgage.

I have addressed you in an adult like manner, and Sir I am very aware of what a warez is, and your "for real" question, yes I asked if it was a paid demo.
Bottom-line this app or link, was it>> to a paid app demo or not.

Back when i had my iphone, they would give out paid apps for free like once a day. Is there anything similar to that for windows phone 7. i could use some nice apps

They offer "Deal of the Week" apps but it's deff not free.
When the marketplace grows larger...
almost every app has a free trial, many offer full function and just post an ad banner
ok , i can deal with ads no problem . Which apps have ads for the full version?
I have an LG Quantum Optimus from Bell Canada. There's an LG APP store Category that shows up in the marketplace with apps for us to download an install that are LG developed or are paid apps being offered to LG users as a free download. Their way of saying thanks to their customers. About half are swapped out with new ones once a month or something.
I would love this.. I am unable to buy apps for my phone because my region is unsupported. I'm an avid apps buyer (I've probably bought more than 100 euro in apps on my iPhone) and the app buyer in me is suffering.

Apps on sale - Google Play

Just found a whole bunch of apps on sale on Google play. Big reductions for Dead Space and mSecure - Password Manager.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/collection/promotion_2012_03_06_AppsFavorites?start=0&num=24
I went for the flick golf. Worth 20p of anyone's money, wasn't keen on the others.
Thanks

Wallet worth an Insurance claim?

So, like many,I'm locked out of google Wallet. Would it be worth it to file an insurance claim and get a different nexus (new or refurb) or should I just hold off and continue to wait for a fix?
Any helpful input would be appreciated.

They would not process the claim based on an app not working

How did you get locked out?
Well if you're using a VZW Nexus it's blocked/locked form usage. Did you get the apk or? I have wallet on my VZW Nexus and I can use it freely.
Cant you "break in" into Google Wallet by deleting the data so it asks you for you to set your pin?
I don't even think the galaxy nexus is officially supported by google wallet and the application is blocked in the market by verizon. It may have been the wallet security measures which locked your account and you could try calling google wallet support to reset your account.
Try ODIN Flashing and Fastboot Flashing yourself to stock. I don't think it could actually fix it, but it's worth a shot I guess. There will probably be a fix in the future, either from Google or XDA (my money is on XDA), but it will definitely be a while. I sold my Nexus One before it ever got a custom HBOOT, which many thought no one would take up. I would ask for a refurb personally, as I like using GWallet and it's one of the reasons I bought the phone.

Secure Element is a hardware component. Verizon cannot deny a claim on a hardware issue. That said...how do you explain to those peons to know the difference? I assume that if/when the ISIS app comes out, it will use SE as well. Then it will be easier to show them that its hardware (maybe).
Google Wallet may be blocked from the market, but Verizon allows sideloading of apps. Nowhere in their warranty terms do they say, "You are explicitly not allowed to install Google Wallet."
From what I've read, your secure element has shut itself down. If this is true, you'll probably never get a fix from either Google or XDA.
The OP could print out some Google support posts showing that phones need to be replaced when this happens. Verizon cannot void a warranty based on Google Wallet. The phone has the capability. It is of no fault that the user has a corrupted SE.
Better be stock and locked though.
@OP, if you're within your returns period then you should be able to just take the phone back.
However, though morally questionable, other people on these forums have had success by intentionally placing their phone into a bootloop to get a replacement device.

Google Wallet on GNex
My GNex is about 2 mo. old and when I first got it, one of the first things I wanted to do with it was put Google Wallet on it. Unfortunately, that was during the time when there were so many issues with it. After much research on XDA,(thanks so much by the way!), I installed the .apk from Google Wallet website. I have the "Unsupported Device" banner at the top of the screen but for me it's not a big deal. I have used it at several businesses and it worked flawlessly. I have even added funds to the Google Prepaid card from my bank's VISA debit card. An added bonus is peoples amazement when I pay for something with my phone. Google Wallets "Cool Factor" is off the scale.

It's the same thing in life, you buy food or some kind of electronic. Sometimes you don't like it after purchase. Too bad. But don't dictate the remaining purchases based on one bad experience.

I should amend this to say that I will purchase apps that I am 100% certain I want. But I will not speculate or "try" anything any longer.

So you're going to resort to stealing apps now? or buying apps from Amazon's App Store with slow updates?
You should be HAPPY that Google even OFFERED a refund window even if it "didn't work" for you. No one is entitled to give you a refund, not even stores. Apple's App Store doesn't offer a refund at all.
There is something called customer service. Contact Google's Play Store or the DEV HIMSELF. And the dev can offer a refund (this has been confirmed many times, a dev can give you a refund).

You should be HAPPY that Google even OFFERED a refund window. No one is entitled to give you a refund, not even stores. Apple's App Store doesn't offer a refund at all.

Ugh. Really? You're now attacking me and not even comprehending what I'm saying. I'm going to steal now? Are you nuts?
Why should I be HAPPY? I wasn't OFFERED a refund at all.
I was entitled to a refund per Play Store policy and I didn't get it. What part of that don't you understand? They wrote the rules and didn't comply.
There's one thing you managed to be right about. I wouldn't have made the speculative purchase on iTunes because they don't offer refunds.

There is something called customer service. Contact Google's Play Store or the DEV HIMSELF. And the dev can offer a refund (this has been confirmed many times, a dev can give you a refund).

Not worth my time for $4 and neither is replying to you any more.
Lesson learned. Moving on.

No I'm not nuts. There are always angry customers but you shouldn't just RESORT to not buying ANY APPS based on ONE bad experience. If you attempted to contact the dev / Play Store customer service and nothing worked, then you logically have a "somewhat" better explanation on why you're "boycotting the Play Store."
You should be HAPPY that Google even OFFERS A REFUND. Whereas, other App Stores such as Apple's App Store / Amazon doesn't even offer you a refund. Google could of set up the Market/Play Store without any refund but they did it anyway even it's not the perfect system. People make mistakes. This is why I told you to CONTACT the developer to issue you a refund (they can do this! its been shown)
If that $4 wasn't worth your time then I don't understand why you have to boycott the Play Store due to one bad experience without even trying to contact the dev for him/her to issue a refund
Also Chris before complaining you could of went to his website, the dev seems very commited to supporting his app. It's unfair to devs if you judge a "work in progress" app as a final product. A free version of the app was also included, http://www.camera.flavionet.com/support.php
I usually reply in less than 24 hours, and I'm always committed to solve the problem, when it is within my reach.
You can also write me to [email protected] with suggestions and improvements. I really listen to customers and I try to add new features based on users feedback.

So yeah you would of received your refund quickly.

This. Every dev I've ever emailed asking for a refund has been very responsive - devs can even issue refunds after the 15-minute window. Emailing a dev is a lot less time-consuming than driving back to a store to return a product you decide you don't want (because it doesn't do things it never claimed to do...). Quitchabitchin until you have made a good-faith effort to resolve the issue, rather than coming here to spout about how horrible the Play Store is.
Another hint - contacting the dev will do more about the problem than venting here. Just so you know.

The Play Store didn't work as it should and I'm limiting my exposure to it in the future. Logical response if you ask me. I don't enjoy attempting to claw back money thanks to billing issues, failure to deliver service, "oh the system had a problem", etc every time it happens. When it does I consider those entities unreliable and stop doing business with them. (Unless I have no real alternatives like TV/Internet/phone.)
If the Play Store didn't offer a refund I wouldn't have purchased the app. I appreciate that they do offer a refund to check for compatibility, does the app work as intended, etc. What I don't appreciate is that system not reliable.

The dev got his $4 and I'm no longer going to use the App Store for purchases that I'm not 100% certain I want. You have a different philosophy and you're free to spend as much time as you like dealing with customer service, different developers, etc as you like. My philosophy is different and I'm going to deal with the Play Store less.
We're all entitled to make our own decisions on how to spend our money and somehow how I spend my money has become the topic rather than the app itself.
The app doesn't look too much like a work in progress. Just another camera app with a few neat controls. It's no iPhone 645 PRO app. That would have been worth paying quite a bit more for.

My post's intention was to let people know that this app did not improve photo quality. I said as much. I've been critical of the GN camera and was hoping that saving in a lossless format would have improved the camera output. It didn't. And because it didn't I don't feel it's worth $4.
However, instead of that, the only thing people appeared to be interested in is my comment about Google's Play Store borking my refund and my how I was going to deal with that in the future.
"quitchabitchin"? I'm not *****in. My problem is resolved. The problem it seems is that YOU don't like how I resolved it. If no one responded to the point about how I decide to spend my money this thread would be a lot shorter and a lot more informative.
My beef isn't with the developer and I have no intention of trying to contact him/her because the Play Store broke. Not their fault and I'm changing how I deal with the Play Store, not the app developer. I fail to see how that isn't clear?
BTW, this "getting burned" has warned me off of anything Samsung phone related as well. And quite a few other products. Unless these companies resolve their issues they've lost a customer and I steer people to products that work for me and I find reliable.
No offense, but I rather hear about the app than the hissy fit between you, the play store, and zephik. Take it to PMs guys.
Just sayin.

Share your Google wallet experience

Just like to start this thread to hear about your google wallet experience. Here is one of mine for now I have a few.
I just used it for the 1st time a few days ago getting gas I told the old guy $20 credit then he saw me put the phone up to the paypass and my wallet said waiting on him then he canceled it and said oh NO that dont work here. So I went back after work with a new guy on duty and did it (worked). MODERATOR EDIT - COMMENTS REMOVED
Every-time I use it, people look at me and ask, "Did you just use your phone to pay?" Every-time.
Love using it wherever I can. So convenient. Just wish more places supported it. People always looked at me like a pulled a magic trick. But the latest problem I see it that place have the hardware, but the firmware isn't setup.
I have no idea what it do. Can someone explain it?

Basically you can store your credit cards onto your google account and then you use the app in your phone to emulate the credit card that you want to use.

Does it use NFC?
Can you make it force you to enter a password before you use it? I'd hate to have my phone stolen and have that mean my credit cards are stolen too.
(Yeah I admit I know nothign about this. It sounded like another lame feature when it came out, but now that I'm hearing more it sounds really cool)
OK,
