I didn't find that anyone had the same problem as I do so I hope that someone could help me...
When I plug in headphones in order to listen some music or FM radio it works just fine, but when I want to use my headphones as a heandsfree to talk, I hear some unpleasant and really loud noises such as growling and rustling. It also happens when I try to use speaker during skype call (no headphones plugged)...
I hope that someone could give me the possible solution for my problem or give me the answer if this problem is related to hardware or software.
P.S. I thought that it could have been a software problem so I reinstalled my Blackout rom (Android version 4.0.4, HTC Sense version 3.6, software number Blackout ICS incredible V3.1.0) but the problem continuous...

Hi Guys,
I've got a quite big problem with my Hermes:
The first time I'm phoning after a soft/hard reset, the other is able to hear me, but from the second call (no matter whether i called or if i was called by someone) the microphone of my Hermes is switched off.
The button to switch off the mic isn't activated, and the mic-shutted-off-symbol isn't shown too.
I'm running Shaps 3.57a and the onliest installed programm is SRS Labs WOW Sound. Furthermore I'm using a bluetooth a2dp Headset to listen music (with an integrated mic, this one doesn't wort too).
What can I do? Please help me...

Speaking personally, I had problems with SRS WOW... Try disabling it to see what happens...
If that doesn't fix, it could be hardware issue...

SRS WoW is more trouble that its worth.
Remove it, and if your still having issues hard reset (back up data of cause).
If not try flashing your OEM rom, if it still doesn't work, its a hardware issue.

Because of this problem I get almost sorry that I had taken a Galaxy Nexus.
I can pair Nexus with my carkit (parrot) and I can play audio through the speakers.
My problem is: When I call or receive a call I can hear almost nothing. Sound is so low that I can not even notice that the sound from the speakers or coming from the phone. I am using Volume+ too but nothing helps!!
It's look like that Nexus somehow even loses the connection, without any reason.
It's a rooted Nexus and running on AOKP.
Is there a better ROM for my bluetooth issue or do you guys have any suggestions?

A Cyanogen Mod 7 or MIUI ROM is HIGHLY recommended. Running this app on a Stock ROM/Kernel may result in it not working, being far too quiet, or getting even quieter. PLEASE don't comment or rate badly if you are on a Stock ROM as this is most likely the problem.

The feature list for AOKP says it uses the "Unsecure boot.img (stock AOSP kernel)."
You might want to try uninstalling the application to see if that fixes your sound issues over bluetooth.
I am using a stock (unrooted) GSM Galaxy Nexus. It pairs just fine with my Jawbone Era bluetooth headset and do not have an issue when making/receiving calls with volume. Where I notice the volume is quite low is the voice dialer prompt only (the actually call is fine). Apart from that, no issues.

I hope I'm posting this in the right section coz I wasnt allowed to post a reply in the actual Maximus ROM thread. I had a stock international HTC One X which I rooted and flashed with Maximus v8.5 ROM. I followed all the instructions and believe I did everything properly. Everything seems to be working fine but whenever I use my wired headset in apps like talk, viber etc. I keep hearing myself through the headphones whenever I speak into the microphone. Also the other person's voice is not as loud or clear as before. I have tried different headphones but the problem persists. I don't experience any problem while listening to music etc. it is only during calls that it acts weird. Has anyone else encountered such a problem? Could it be a hardware or software problem? and is there any fix since it is extremely annoying.

Quick question, has anyone experienced issues with the microphone while using Skype or Hangouts after the latest (last week's) OTA for Europe?
At first I thought it was bad design on a case I got, but the issue persists even without the case (and there actually is a hole in the plastic for the mic), tried Hangouts to make sure it wasn't just Skype, so I'm thinking it might have to do with the OTA update.
The mic wasn't doing wonders with capturing before, but it appears to be unusable for Skype now unless the tablet is held at the same distance as a phone.
On a relevant note, is anyone aware of any tools that could help adjusting mic gain or disabling the automatic gain control/ noise cancellation features?

Same here with the exact same setup.
I've tried alsamixer but this proves useless until you know witch setting is involved among hundreds of available mixers.
I wonder if an external bluetooh or USB microphone is not a better option.

I just recently got the G pad and I definitely have a problem with the mic. Is this happening on all the G pads or do you think is a hardware issue on my device?
I tried with Skype and Hangouts and my voice was barely audible on the other end. Just to make sure it was not my internet connection I tried with my old trusty Galaxy S2, no problems there so it is definitely a problem of the G Pad.
I have no screen, warming, yellow lines, light bleeding or any other issue. So, the device is perfect except for the mic, do you think it is worth to take it back to the shop to exchange it for a new one or this will not cure the mic problem?
Any luck tweaking the mic in software btw? Finally, has anybody tried to use a bluetooth headset and microphone with it, is it possible?

I put CM11 Rom on and it now seems to loud so it distorts. Anyone aware of any way of tweaking the Mic settings?

Has anyone found a solution? I have the same problem with micro when using skype. When I use the micro in Dictaphone it works fine so the micro as such is ok.

I have this issue as well. It's fine on jelly bean stock ROM but becomes apparent on CyanogenMod... Really want a fix

Hi im having the same problem with my g pad vk810. Does anyone have fix this issue yet ? Its working fine with the dictaphone but cant help it with skype. Is the problem hardware or software ?

I just flashed UltraBeam GB Revolutionary 1.5 and the update to 1.5.1.
Baseband version is 13.55.55.24H_3.35.2010
Most things are working as expected, but I can't mute the mic during a call.
Yesterday I tried TouchWiz_Buzz V2 and the mic mute function didn't work either. That was the reason to try UB.
GPS doesn't seem to work either.
Since I often do calls in the car I urgently need the mute function for the mic.
I can't post in the developer forum yet. Maybe somebody can help me here.

I copied the Phone.apk from the latest official cm-7-20130301-NIGHTLY-buzz and the mute button works now.
Never the less I like the other design of the phone app more than this one.
Maybe somebody has another idea?
