Mugen XT610XL Compatible With MB612 (XPRT) - Droid Pro Accessories

I know they're technically the same phone just different names for different carriers. So what are the chances? Anybody tried it yet, or is the body design different in the slightest bit or what exactly... Sure I could blow 90 bucks and send it back if not but would like to know beforehand! LoL

Covers and Faceplates: Are they all compatible?

I've got a TMO TP2. a co-worker has (iirc) a verizon TP2 or somesuch. I'm interested in changing the case for something different, as the coffee/mocha thing dosnt do it for me.
But looking @ the 2 phones side by side, they dont look anywhere near structurally similar. hell, my battery wont even boot his phone. while that might be the difference between the GSM and CDMA versions, I want to make sure that what i buy will work with my phone.
changing cases looks like a more intensive process than the same operation with the old Wing. cost is higher too. can someone verify what works and what dosnt? or is the extra cost due to the difference in chassis, so all you need to do is drop in the bare essentials, making it a more extensive changeover than with the wing?

Who would be interested in misc. Android stickers?

I have access to a sticker machine and Im going to know around a few android sticker designs. I was wondering if anyone here would be interested before the stickers are made?
All different android styles, sizes from 1.75,3, 4, 6 and 10 inches. Prices will vary but shouldn't be more than 7-8 bucks MAX the smaller ones wont be near that, but possibly around 3-4 bucks. the more you buy the cheaper.
Again mainly checking on interest here. I have done deals in the past with 4-5 members and all went well. I have great 100% ebay feedback and I am paypal verified.
I would take payment thru paypal. If you're going to send it via paypal then add the 4% fee to the final cost. OR you can pay via paypal using their gift option ( it send money fee free! ) then do not add the 4%.
i loveee pics!
haha I havent done them yet. but i may just do them. Im sure people will pick them up here and there.
I'm interested. Are we talking like cheapo ones or badass super stickers?
Die cuts. Like basic ones but I mean its an android how much more badass can it get? haha. I mean I have like different ones in mind. ANd things Ive seen off line. When I get some I'll report back I will only have a few of each style.

This is important, because I have dollars and you have ideas. You might have some of my dollars if your answer to this is correct.
Its going to be on 10year vinyl. Its going to be android figures ( if you will ) They are going to be diecut stickers.
I would be interested for one to stick on the back of my phone. I have an Otterbox Commuter case, so it's pretty bland by itself. Of course, I'd probably buy 3 or more so I have replacements for when one wore out. I might stick one on my car as well...
I'm probably going to catch flak for mentioning "the enemy" but a nice, tasteful apple-esque sticker for my car would be sweet!
i thought that i had posted in here already, but anyways, let me know when i can buy some. =]
I would not mind rocking one on my motorcycle helmet! Put me down for some.

FLAK!!!! Maybe if It had a Android pissing on it!
Too bad this is illegal. I highly doubt that you have received the proper permissions to be reproducing the android name or logo in any way. Get caught doing this and it will cost you dearly.

Jerk.

I might be wrong (it happens!) but I don't think the Android droid is an official logo. I have seen the dolls all over and don't recall any flack.
He can always ask permission too..
it is an official logo but can be distributed as "free" but with a donation. basically selling it without officially selling it. nice little loop hole. =]
I stand corrected. But yes nice little loop hole!
For the record, I'm not trying to be a jerk. I own a graphics company myself and own several of these machines. I personally know a fellow who was selling copyrighted logos as decals online, and one of the copyright owners actually came forward to set an example of this guy and sued him for hundreds of thousands of dollars, and won.
Do as you wish, just giving you warning that just because others get away with this, doesn't mean you will do the same.

It's legal so long as you follow the rules of the creative commons:
http://www.android.com/branding.html
They explicitly give you permission to use and modify the android robot, provided you give them proper attribution, as is the terms of the creative commons license.

Will the root method work for the Telus version?

LOL
i guess both of us are going to be the dare devil on Friday
or as some other might call it, we'll be the guinea pigs
in case it goes belly up, we'll just take it back for an exchange "DOA"
LOL
yeah well, we should be fine. It's the same model (minus the "D", they use the same kernel and have the same software version.. so it's really safe to assume they are identical.
I had a similiar experience 2 years ago with my HTC Hero, it was the european version with a different model number but everything else was the same, i put on my brass balls and rooted it and everything worked fine.
Just hoping it's gonna be the same for this one.
ohh... the only reason i'll be cautious about is the example we had with i9000 vs i9000M
they were identical in almost every way, except that some ROMs / internal storage partitions were slightly different, and many people had issues after flashing the international ROMs, however later on as it became clear people making ROM started including the slight difference between the 2 models.
so, i'm keeping my finger crossed for that to NOT be the case this time.
Well, rooting the phone shouldn't been an issue imo.
We might be stuck on stock for a little while but at least the phone will be rooted.
Rooting it shouldn't be that much different though, no? If I remember correctly, it's got the same build number, but the baseband is different. I guess I'm not the only one who's going to go get it first thing Friday
Any idea if the low DPI will have a noticeable difference compared to other phones, in terms of picture quality?
well i was going to get the Tmo version, when it came out 2 weeks ago
but then started reading about all this doomsday reports of this defect, and that defect, etc, etc...
then i though... hmm... i better get it locally, and save myself the trouble of having to ship it back and forth in case i needed exchange
when you ship the phone back and forth, the cost rises up really quickly to a point it might even cost more than buying it locally.
so i bit the bullet and chilled myself down to hold for another week... (3 more days!!!!) to get the phone
LOL
i was going crazy waiting for this beast to come out
I've been waiting the SGS2 since June!!!!!!!, but there was no AWS compatible version for Mobilicity and WIND

I feel like it's Christmas in October! My Telus store told me that it might have them Friday or Saturday, so Best Buy might get my service, if they have it.
I can imagine $600 being shipped back and forth must be a pretty penny!
Did you guys get this version yet? Im curious about the screens.

he's curious about the screen defects.
After a more precise look with the blobs picture, i see tiny vertical lines.. i mean i have to really put my face in the glass to see them.
But using the camera and facing it in a dark setting.. nothing..
Either the image has an issue because my camera doesnt re-create it.

Is my T-Mobile Note 2 refurbished? Please let me know what you think. Thank you.

I received my Note 2 a few days ago. I found no screen defects, although my volume button is loose (and was confirmed normal as per other XDA member's feedback). I have a tiny black marker above the earpiece on the bezel (also confirmed by another fellow XDA member), and I know it sounds like I have OCD, but $700 dollars is not little. Also, I should mention, I purchased my device without contract from T-Mobile on their website, and the retail box (pristine clean condition) came in a bubble wrapped bag instead of an actual box I was expecting. Lastly, while un-boxing, I noticed I didn't find any plastic clear tape to remove on the sides of the bezel like I did in the previous Note (International version). My Note 2 only came with the T-Mobile Logo on front and Plastic on the back cover. Today, I tried registering the product on Samsung's website, and came across the message that my phone's Manufacture Date is 11/30/1993.
Is whatever I described above something to be concerned about? Or am I just being too anal. What about the warranty? Is my device refurbished? Should I have purchased at a retail store instead? My phone apparently came from Kentucky (Origin on UPS Scan shows Louisville, Kentucky) with a pre-paid return label to Forth Worth, Texas.
Relax..... That's not a refurbished device. You can check under the battery and it will be listed as a refurb.
I had 3 Note 2's with Sprint before moving here. They all came the same way. There's no tape on the sides of the phone. Only the screen and and back cover are protected by plastic.

I have purchased 2 notes from tmobile and they have both come in a padded mailer vs. an actual box. The inside boxes were sealed though, I had to slice through seals to open the box. I recall on the international version the back plastic actually wraps around a little to cover the sides, I think it was the same with the tmobile version as well. You can't rule it out entirely but it seems unlikely you got a refurb, in my opinion.
Thanks for the replies :good:, what about the power / volume button, little black mark, and most importantly, the manufacture date. Have any of you tried registering your devices yet? Please let me know. Thanks again.

Do you even have to ask? Consider the source, the world we live in for a moment. The fact is some devices are sold "New" even if they technically need be listed as refurb. If you feel so confused, instead of asking internet strangers about your own device, I'd return it online and buy one in store if it makes you feel any better. But at the end of the day it's just a cell phone

I'm not feeling confused; its really just the manufacturer date I am more concerned about. It might be just a cell phone to you, but $700 dollars invested into a machine like this is not little. The world we live in now requires most of us to think twice before we buy. Coming to the Note 2, Every Note 2 sold has minute issues like I stated in my first post. I might be just being OCD, lol. Also, It's a Samsung thing--QC at its finest.

Hey I'm I'm your side I'm just saying more action less debate about your money...if I purchase something online and I have doubts I don't need to consult with strangers on what to do. As far as the device heck yeah return it and buy in store if it tickles your fancy, our see a doctor about your ocd. In regards to the manufacturer date..this is not the first nor last gadget to have a funky date some are more accurate others are internal...not a big deal.....this technology clearly didn't even exist back then, uncommon sense tells you it's just a Samsung filler, just a date they used. Even if the date was this year..who cares lol enjoy your phone

Watched a couple of unboxing videos on the T-Mobile version, there was plastic tape on the sides as well. I'm just guessing it varies by batch. Lol.
Anyway, too much plastic. I think thats the biggest flop of Samsung; Plastic

:victory: I don't think OP actually thought the device was manu in 93 xD Probably just concerned it doesnt say 2011 or 12 like it should . lol
OP MADE IN CHINA is all you have to see to answer your questions about loose this or that . This isn't the first thread I've seen about loose buttons on this device. . China makes junk , period. We're kinda lucky as many of these devices function flawlessly from the factory. My and it apears few other radios were bad too I had to get a replacement . Fact is lot of these devices are OK. But chinese quality control just isnt on par with even korea or the phillipines.
Thanks AFAIK, everyone's buttons on the Note 2 are loose, even those Made in Korea (as per XDA Note 2 General Forum Members). I've had the Made in Korea Note and Galaxy S2 before and they both sucked in quality control and were Made in Korea. Its not country of manufacture, its Samsung and their best friend, Plastic. Why not just use rubber? Lol...

mine arnt . thats the only thing on this phone that is ok . I guess your right on the samsung. I've predominantly used HTC throughout my smartphone experience. And their build quility is top notch . maybe Ill trade this thing for a one x or something. I mean the device itself is cool but .
Loose buttons , gps not working very well on more than a couple devices , terrible radios the fragililty of the device itself . I mean I cant tell you how many times Id dropped the MT4GS and I never had any problem with it.
1 think you a lemon ;P

I've noticed quality issues on the Note 2, notably the bezel. The bezel is a throwback to the GS2 with the cheap electroplated plastic. Too easy to scratch, and out of the 3 or 4 I have had, most of them suffered from some sort of manufacturing defect. The GS3s bezel is actually constructed much beter, and I was hoping it would be the same. Instead it's identical to the Note 1 or the GS2.
I wonder how Samsung is able to sell something like this of very poor build quality. It's very shocking and insulting.
Very poor build quality? I have to disagree with you on that. They are built different, lots of plastic that's all. As far as I know anyway. My 3rd Galaxy phone model, and 4th total. I've never had an issue with any of them. However, for $700 I'd expect perfection regardless of where it's made. If you aren't happy definitely contact them.

What are you even talking about??
I've gone through a few Note 2s now (long story), but all of them arrived in a very thin bubblewrap bag, and had the back plastic wrap on loose/wrinkled/something. I'm not sure why that happens, but they were all new and unused. One had a power button that didn't work right, the other had a deep nick on the side (ironically, near the power button) - and that was painted so it was definitely a defect, and then another one had a bad speaker.
The 4th still doesn't sound quite as good as I recall the 1st sounding, but everything otherwise is great and fine so I'm sticking with that one.
Also, I think the front edge of the ring that goes around the sides of the phone has paint that chips, possibly? I think those with the white Note 2s could provide more info about that, because I also see tiny black specs there sometimes, but I can't tell if it's dirt/dust or just the paint, or what? It's really hard to tell since the grey ones are painted really dark hehe.
Awesome phones though!
Also noting: All of these were made in China, and one says rev 1.1 on the box and had a slightly clickier home button (made on 12/3 I think?) but all were virtually identical otherwise. They're really nice phones, just.. not HTC or Apple quality hardware-wise I guess.

Not an OEM battery as listed -BEWARE-

Beware of --- Accessory Trend of Brooklyn NY ..... EBay id bestway268
listing stock OEM batteries that are blatant fakes. label is a bit lighter and the font is "thicker" , 1/8 ounce lighter than a real oem (which means its a smaller battery or less mh) , does not fit well in the phone as it is slightly wider, and lastly the molded plastic is not the same as oem.
just wanted to pass this along so nobody wastes their money thinking they are getting oem when they are getting lesser "crap" also if this seller is lying about this they probably are about their other stuff...
fyi..their excuse was its for the international phone...lol and we all know thats just not true...
hope this helps someone!

sadly no or i wouldnt have posted it... first excuse was oh well its for the international ones... i replied that i own 2 international phones and they were very different, and told them my credentials... i even explained to them the weight, print and molding differences... gave them every opportunity for an easy out, and all i got was you either want the battery or not, if youre not happy send it back but you will get a restock fee... i said no, why dont we let ebay settle this and i got a shipping label in my email like 5 min later because they know that they are selling knockoffs as real and ebay will shut them down if i complained...which i still did...
mistakes are mistakes...ooops and own it.. its that easy. it happens but dont tell a tech that is certified by samsung that something is real when it is blatantly obvious that its not... and then cop a big attitude... not cool .. and im not going to let anyone here get duped either... we have to stick together..
now seller --- docceo --- has nice oem batteries at the same price as the loser selling the fakes...
good handling, we do have to stand up for our rights, if they themselves were duped they need to claim it with their suppliers anyways and fully honour your request/rights for replacement/restitution!
thanks for sharing
