[Q] Linking gmail account to Play Store - HTC One X

Dear all,
Appreciate if someone could give me a hand here.
The Play Store of my My One X stopped working a few days ago. It just could load up and asked me to sign in with a gmail account.
After numerous sign in and failure, I removed my gmail account and add it again. Despite clearing data in the Play Store app and rebooting my phone, it just wouldn't sign in with my gmail.
Any ideas?

Titanium Backup should fix your play store issues. Download app via pc then transfer to your phone. In the menu it should give you some play store repair options.

Server error for paid apps in market... (SOLVED)

When I try and purchase an app, I get a server error. The same error occurs on 3g and wifi. I've tried it from different locations and wifi networks, so it's not a connection issue. Non-paid apps work fine. This error only occurs when I try to download paid apps.
I'm using google apps for two of my 4 accounts. My main account is my google apps account for my business. I have 6 paid apps that I've purchased on this account, but google recently 'upgraded' google apps...could that have something to do with it??
This is such a tremendous pain in the ass. All I want to do is buy an app for 1.99!
So far I've cleared the market cache, and then I cleared the cache and all market data.
EDIT: Nevermind. I figured it out. On a whim, I logged into my google checkout for that particular account and it prompted me to signup again. I re-signed up with that email address and it works again.
Very strange.
I was going to ask that this account be removed, but this might be useful for other people using google apps accounts. This only happened after my account was upgraded by google.

About Google accounts & Play Store

For all registration purposes, purchases and other services i was always using my secondary google account (newsletters, spam..), primary is for irl people.
But using secondary account for play store could be a mess, earlier android ver. tried to associate always your primary account, in the desktop browser
play store doesn't have 'switch account' option like in gmail or youtube, so you have to log off - sign in etc, so you end up with apps installed on both your accounts.
I'm interested in what people here are using for play store? One primary account for all because it's more convenient, or something else?
I use 2 accounts, one is primary that links to all Google services. The second is just added for gmail sync only.

[Q] adding more Google accounts

I need this too. Anyone?
You can add another account from almost any Google app (Gmail, Maps, Youtube). Open the app (I used Gmail), slide out the menu from the left and tap on your email address near the top left corner. Then tap on "Add Account"
As for removing, I couldn't find any way other than uninstalling and reinstalling the Play store and all associated services (Services Framework, Play services, Account Manager)

Lost Apps

I have just had my Galaxy Tab S 10.5 back to Samsung to have the Battery replaced,on boot up it restored the default apps but the apps I purchased from Google Play are not there,if I go to my apps in the Play store I have to pay for all my apps again,i thought once I had bought the apps I did not have to pay again.how do I get my apps back without paying again.Thank You.Longlegs
If you paid for your apps though the Google store your apps are linked to you gmail email address, just click on the account tab in the google play app on your tablet.
I have 30 paid apps, i did not think i had that many.
John.
You never have to pay for your apps again. Log into your google account you originally used when you bought the apps.
John and ashyx thanks for your reply,i got into my google account and my apps were there except my three most expensive apps were missing, now I bought these apps about 4years ago when my google account was linked to a different e mail address to the one I use now, there is a drop down with my 3 G Mail addresses but these are not the ones I was using when I originally bought the apps.Thank You.Longlegs
Do you mean your two expensive apps are linked to your old gmail email address, I had the same problem years ago, I dont know if google allows you to transfer apps from one gmail account to another by now, maybe somebody else does.
John.
John at the time I was not using gmail, they where linked to my old freeserve e mail, now one app costs £30 the other £15 I do not want to pay again if I can help it.Cheers Longlegs

You can't, your account is linked to a google mail address. I.E. your google log in.
ashyx thanks if I go into Google Play on my old Motorola tablet all my apps are there and it shows my old e mail address not the gmail address I use now.is there anyway you can get apps from one tablet to another,Cheers Longlegs
You must have created a google account initially before downloading the apps on your Motorola. Look under settings then accounts. You should see your google log in.
Also remember if you have an up to date device, but the apps have not been updated then they will be incompatible, so they won't be able to be downloaded.

How to remove Google accounts?

This is a stock, unrooted Fire Phone. The only thing I did was followed the guide to install Google Play services so I can install GMail, Google Play Store, and add Google accounts. No problem.
Now the phone is going to be used by a family member, and I couldn't figure out how to remove the previous Google accounts already added to the phone.
Please tell me I'm missing something obvious.

Just like with any google play install on any android phone you can't remove the main gmail account attached to google play without a reset.

Nope, not the main account. There are two additional google accounts added to the phone after the original account, and I'd like to remove those two.
